The article discusses the approach on adding two short-circuited cylindrical covers to dipole antennas to reduce the resonant frequency without disrupting the radiation pattern. Experimental results of the approach indicated the reduction of antenna wire size is provided. Improvements of the electrical properties of short cyclindrical dipole, monopole and whip antennas by adding inductive loads. Details about the experimental study on novel approach is also presented.
