Abstract

The article presents three cases that show the close relationship of migraine and the eye. In the first case, the high eye dry symptoms of a patient with chronic migraine were treated, although the improvement of the migraine is still uncertain, while in the second case, a patient with migraine and a visual snow vision was asked to ignore it and to use blue-yellow filters. In the third case, a patient with migraine and photophobia indicated the presence of photophobia circuits.

Abstract

The article discusses a study by Dr. Alexander Barash of New York Medical Care that used optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) to identify changes to macular and peripapillary retinal perfusion during migraine with aura. OCT-A detected microcirculatory disturbances during acute post-aural migraine attack. It suggests that these findings may elucidate the pathophysiological relationship between migraine, aura and ischemia.

The article compares tinnitus, a humming, tonal-type sound of any pitch, and auditory hallucinations, a noise heard only by the person experiencing the event. Statistics on the number of people who suffer from tinnitus in the U.S. are provided. The medical conditions associated with auditory hallucinations are identified. Also mentioned are the causes of auditory hallucinations and determining the root cause as the first step to managing the condition.
