Abstract

The article presents a study of the effectiveness of COVID-19 messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccines against COVID-19-associated hospitalization in five U.S. Veterans Affairs Medical Centers from February 1 to August 6, 2021. Topics discussed include the high effectiveness of the vaccines in preventing hospitalization in older veterans, discovery of lower effectiveness at 79.8% among veterans aged 65 years and above, and decreased immunogenicity with increasing age after vaccination.
