Abstract

The article focuses on the findings which suggest that the incidence of early-onset group B streptococcus (GBS) in sub-Saharan Africa between 1990 and 2014 was 1.3 per 1,000 births, indicating that improved preventive methods are important. It mentions that pentavalent vaccine are developed to prevent early-onset and late-onset GBS in newborns. A literature review and meta-analysis performed by researchers is also cited.
