Abstract

The article discusses the status of biomass and biodegradable plastics in China. It cites that development and application of bio-based materials have received great attention due to their environmental friendliness and good functions. China's National Development and Reform Commission established the biomass special equity to fund the development of biomass materials in 2006. It notes that biodegradable plastics are classified as from fossil resources, and from renewable resources.
