This article discusses two architectural projects that utilize shading strategies to mitigate glare and solar heat gain. The first project is the Applied Research Building (ARB) at the University of Arizona, which features a pleat-like arrangement of protective aluminum-composite panels and laminated-and-fritted glass fins. The second project is the Thirty75 Tech office space in Santa Clara, which utilizes an aluminum louver system that hangs from diagonal steel outriggers. Both projects aim to maintain outward views while reducing energy consumption and improving user comfort. [Extracted from the article]
