The research groups in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning have dedicated a substantial amount of attention to the areas of 3D object reconstruction, augmentation, and registration. Deep learning is the predominant method used in artificial intelligence for addressing computer vision challenges. However, deep learning on three-dimensional data presents distinct obstacles and is now in its nascent phase. There have been significant advancements in deep learning specifically for three-dimensional data, offering a range of ways to address these issues. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements in deep learning methodologies. We examine many benchmark models for the tasks of 3D object registration, augmentation, and reconstruction. We thoroughly analyse their architectures, advantages, and constraints. In summary, this report provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in three-dimensional deep learning and highlights unresolved research areas that will need to be addressed in the future. Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) can radically change almost every aspect of the human experience. In the medical field, there are numerous applications of AI and subsequently, in a relatively short time, significant progress has been made. Cardiology is not immune to this trend, this fact being supported by the exponential increase in the number of publications in which the algorithms play an important role in data analysis, pattern discovery, identification of anomalies, and therapeutic decision making. Furthermore, with technological development, there have appeared new models of machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DP) that are capable of exploring various applications of AI in cardiology, including areas such as prevention, cardiovascular imaging, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, and many others. In this sense, the present article aims to provide a general vision of the current state of AI use in cardiology. Results: We identified and included a subset of 200 papers directly relevant to the current research covering a wide range of applications. Thus, this paper presents AI applications in cardiovascular imaging, arithmology, clinical or emergency cardiology, cardiovascular prevention, and interventional procedures in a summarized manner. Recent studies from the highly scientific literature demonstrate the feasibility and advantages of using AI in different branches of cardiology. Conclusions: The integration of AI in cardiology offers promising perspectives for increasing accuracy by decreasing the error rate and increasing efficiency in cardiovascular practice. From predicting the risk of sudden death or the ability to respond to cardiac resynchronization therapy to the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism or the early detection of valvular diseases, AI algorithms have shown their potential to mitigate human error and provide feasible solutions. At the same time, limits imposed by the small samples studied are highlighted alongside the challenges presented by ethical implementation; these relate to legal implications regarding responsibility and decision making processes, ensuring patient confidentiality and data security. Visual simultaneous localization and mapping (VSLAM) enhances the navigation of autonomous agents in unfamiliar environments by progressively constructing maps and estimating poses. However, conventional VSLAM pipelines often exhibited degraded performance in dynamic environments featuring mobile objects. Recent research in deep learning led to notable progress in semantic segmentation, which involves assigning semantic labels to image pixels. The integration of semantic segmentation into VSLAM can effectively differentiate between static and dynamic elements in intricate scenes. This paper provided a comprehensive comparative review on leveraging semantic segmentation to improve major components of VSLAM, including visual odometry, loop closure detection, and environmental mapping. Key principles and methods for both traditional VSLAM and deep semantic segmentation were introduced. This paper presented an overview and comparative analysis of the technical implementations of semantic integration across various modules of the VSLAM pipeline. Furthermore, it examined the features and potential use cases associated with the fusion of VSLAM and semantics. It was found that the existing VSLAM model continued to face challenges related to computational complexity. Promising future research directions were identified, including efficient model design, multimodal fusion, online adaptation, dynamic scene reconstruction, and end-to-end joint optimization. This review shed light on the emerging paradigm of semantic VSLAM and how deep learning-enabled semantic reasoning could unlock new capabilities for autonomous intelligent systems to operate reliably in the real world. Deep learning, a crucial technique for achieving artificial intelligence (AI), has been successfully applied in many fields. The gradual application of the latest architectures of deep learning in the field of time series forecasting (TSF), such as Transformers, has shown excellent performance and results compared to traditional statistical methods. These applications are widely present in academia and in our daily lives, covering many areas including forecasting electricity consumption in power systems, meteorological rainfall, traffic flow, quantitative trading, risk control in finance, sales operations and price predictions for commercial companies, and pandemic prediction in the medical field. Deep learning-based TSF tasks stand out as one of the most valuable AI scenarios for research, playing an important role in explaining complex real-world phenomena. However, deep learning models still face challenges: they need to deal with the challenge of large-scale data in the information age, achieve longer forecasting ranges, reduce excessively high computational complexity, etc. Therefore, novel methods and more effective solutions are essential. In this paper, we review the latest developments in deep learning for TSF. We begin by introducing the recent development trends in the field of TSF and then propose a new taxonomy from the perspective of deep neural network models, comprehensively covering articles published over the past five years. We also organize commonly used experimental evaluation metrics and datasets. Finally, we point out current issues with the existing solutions and suggest promising future directions in the field of deep learning combined with TSF. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning is widely used in various industries. At CRYPTO 2019, researchers used deep learning to analyze the block cipher for the first time and constructed a differential neural network distinguisher to meet a certain accuracy. In this paper, a mixture differential neural network distinguisher using ResNet is proposed to further improve the accuracy by exploring the mixture differential properties. Experiments are conducted on SIMON32/64, and the accuracy of the 8-round mixture differential neural network distinguisher is improved from 74.7% to 92.3%, compared with that of the previous differential neural network distinguisher. The prediction accuracy of the differential neural network distinguisher is susceptible to the choice of the specified input differentials, whereas the mixture differential neural network distinguisher is less affected by the input difference and has greater robustness. Furthermore, by combining the probabilistic expansion of rounds and the neutral bit, the obtained mixture differential neural network distinguisher is extended to 11 rounds, which can realize the 12-round actual key recovery attack on SIMON32/64. With an appropriate increase in the time complexity and data complexity, the key recovery accuracy of the mixture differential neural network distinguisher can be improved to 55% as compared to 52% of the differential neural network distinguisher. Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic brain disorder affecting millions worldwide. It occurs when brain cells that produce dopamine, a chemical controlling movement, die or become damaged. This leads to PD, which causes problems with movement, balance, and posture. Early detection is crucial to slow its progression and improve the quality of life for PD patients. This paper proposes a handwriting-based prediction approach combining a cosine annealing scheduler with deep transfer learning. It utilizes the NIATS dataset, which contains handwriting samples from individuals with and without PD, to evaluate six different models: VGG16, VGG19, ResNet18, ResNet50, ResNet101, and Vit. This paper compares the performance of these models based on three metrics: accuracy, precision, and F1 score. Diseases of tomato leaves can seriously damage crop yield and financial rewards. The timely and accurate detection of tomato diseases is a major challenge in agriculture. Hence, the early and accurate diagnosis of tomato diseases is crucial. The emergence of deep learning has dramatically helped in plant disease detection. However, the accuracy of deep learning models largely depends on the quantity and quality of training data. To solve the inter-class imbalance problem and improve the generalization ability of the classification model, this paper proposes a cycle-consistent generative-adversarial-network-based Transformer model to generate diseased tomato leaf images for data augmentation. In addition, this paper uses a Transformer model and densely connected CNN architecture to extract multilevel local features. The Transformer module is utilized to capture global dependencies and contextual information accurately to expand the sensory field of the model. Experiments show that the proposed model achieved 99.45% accuracy on the PlantVillage dataset. The 2018 Artificial Intelligence Challenger dataset and the private dataset attained accuracies of 98.30% and 95.4%, and the proposed classification model achieved a higher accuracy and smaller model size compared to previous deep learning models. As artificial intelligence technology advances, the application of object detection technology in the field of SAR (synthetic aperture radar) imagery is becoming increasingly widespread. However, it also faces challenges such as resource limitations in spaceborne environments and significant uncertainty in the intensity of interference in application scenarios. These factors make the performance evaluation of object detection key to ensuring the smooth execution of tasks. In the face of such complex and harsh application scenarios, methods that rely on single-dimensional evaluation to assess models have had their limitations highlighted. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional evaluation method for deep learning models used in SAR image object detection. This method evaluates models in a multi-dimensional manner, covering the training, testing, and application stages of the model, and constructs a multi-dimensional evaluation index system. The training stage includes assessing training efficiency and the impact of training samples; the testing stage includes model performance evaluation, application-based evaluation, and task-based evaluation; and the application stage includes model operation evaluation and model deployment evaluation. The evaluations of these three stages constitute the key links in the performance evaluation of deep learning models. Furthermore, this paper proposes a multi-indicator comprehensive evaluation method based on entropy weight correlation scaling, which calculates the weights of each evaluation indicator through test data, thereby providing a balanced and comprehensive evaluation mechanism for model performance. In the experiments, we designed specific interferences for SAR images in the testing stage and tested three models from the YOLO series. Finally, we constructed a multi-dimensional performance profile diagram for deep learning object detection models, providing a new visualization method to comprehensively characterize model performance in complex application scenarios. This can provide more accurate and comprehensive model performance evaluation for remote sensing data processing, thereby guiding model selection and optimization. The Space-Air-Ground Information Network (SAGIN) provides extensive coverage, enabling global connectivity across a diverse array of sensors, devices, and objects. These devices generate large amounts of data that require advanced analytics and decision making using artificial intelligence techniques. However, traditional deep learning approaches encounter drawbacks, primarily, the requirement to transmit substantial volumes of raw data to central servers, which raises concerns about user privacy breaches during transmission. Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a viable solution to these challenges, addressing both data volume and privacy issues effectively. Nonetheless, the deployment of FL faces its own set of obstacles, notably the excessive delay and energy consumption caused by the vast number of devices and fluctuating channel conditions. In this paper, by considering the heterogeneity of devices and the instability of the network state, the delay and energy consumption models of each round of federated training are established. Subsequently, we introduce a strategic node selection approach aimed at minimizing training costs. Building upon this, we propose an innovative, empirically driven Double Deep Q Network (DDQN)-based algorithm called low-cost node selection in federated learning (LCNSFL). The LCNSFL algorithm can assist edge servers in selecting the optimal set of devices to participate in federated training before the start of each round, based on the collected system state information. As the global population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, the agricultural sector faces the challenge of achieving an increase of 60% in food production without using much more land. This paper explores the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to bridge this "land gap" and mitigate the environmental implications of agricultural land use. Typically, the problem with using AI in such agricultural sectors is the need for more specific infrastructure to enable developers to design AI and ML engineers to deploy these AIs. It is, therefore, essential to develop dedicated infrastructures to apply AI models that optimize resource extraction in the agricultural sector. This article presents an infrastructure for the execution and development of AI-based models using open-source technology, and this infrastructure has been optimized and tuned for agricultural environments. By embracing the MLOps culture, the automation of AI model development processes is promoted, ensuring efficient workflows, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and promoting the rapid deployment of AI-driven solutions adaptable to changing field conditions. The proposed architecture integrates state-of-the-art tools to cover the entire AI model lifecycle, enabling efficient workflows for data scientists and ML engineers. Considering the nature of the agricultural field, it also supports diverse IoT protocols, ensuring communication between sensors and AI models and running multiple AI models simultaneously, optimizing hardware resource utilization. Surveys specifically designed and conducted for this paper with professionals related to AI show promising results. The virtual synchronous generator (VSG) is an important concept and primary control method in modern power systems. The penetration of power-electronics-based distributed generators in the power grid provides uncertainty and reduces the inertia of the system, thus increasing the risk of instability when disturbance occurs. The VSG produces virtual inertia by introducing the dynamic characteristics of the synchronous generator, which provides inertia and becomes a grid-forming control method. The disadvantages of the VSG are that there are many parameters to be adjusted and its operation process is complicated. However, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, the powerful adaptive learning capability of AI algorithms provides potential solutions to this issue. Two research hotspots are deep learning (DL) and reinforcement learning (RL). This paper presents a comprehensive review of these two techniques combined with VSG control in the energy internet (EI). Background: The aim was to analyze the current state of deep learning (DL)-based prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis with a focus on magnetic resonance (MR) prostate reconstruction; PCa detection/stratification/reconstruction; positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT); androgen deprivation therapy (ADT); prostate biopsy; associated challenges and their clinical implications. Methods: A search of the PubMed database was conducted based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the use of DL methods within the abovementioned areas. Results: A total of 784 articles were found, of which, 64 were included. Reconstruction of the prostate, the detection and stratification of prostate cancer, the reconstruction of prostate cancer, and diagnosis on PET/CT, ADT, and biopsy were analyzed in 21, 22, 6, 7, 2, and 6 studies, respectively. Among studies describing DL use for MR-based purposes, datasets with magnetic field power of 3 T, 1.5 T, and 3/1.5 T were used in 18/19/5, 0/1/0, and 3/2/1 studies, respectively, of 6/7 studies analyzing DL for PET/CT diagnosis which used data from a single institution. Among the radiotracers, [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11, [18F]DCFPyl, and [18F]PSMA-1007 were used in 5, 1, and 1 study, respectively. Only two studies that analyzed DL in the context of DT met the inclusion criteria. Both were performed with a single-institution dataset with only manual labeling of training data. Three studies, each analyzing DL for prostate biopsy, were performed with single- and multi-institutional datasets. TeUS, TRUS, and MRI were used as input modalities in two, three, and one study, respectively. Conclusion: DL models in prostate cancer diagnosis show promise but are not yet ready for clinical use due to variability in methods, labels, and evaluation criteria. Stress is a natural yet potentially harmful aspect of human life, necessitating effective management, particularly during overwhelming experiences. This paper presents a scoping review of personalized stress detection models using wearable technology. Employing the PRISMA-ScR framework for rigorous methodological structuring, we systematically analyzed literature from key databases including Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and PubMed. Our focus was on biosignals, AI methodologies, datasets, wearable devices, and real-world implementation challenges. The review presents an overview of stress and its biological mechanisms, details the methodology for the literature search, and synthesizes the findings. It shows that biosignals, especially EDA and PPG, are frequently utilized for stress detection and demonstrate potential reliability in multimodal settings. Evidence for a trend towards deep learning models was found, although the limited comparison with traditional methods calls for further research. Concerns arise regarding the representativeness of datasets and practical challenges in deploying wearable technologies, which include issues related to data quality and privacy. Future research should aim to develop comprehensive datasets and explore AI techniques that are not only accurate but also computationally efficient and user-centric, thereby closing the gap between theoretical models and practical applications to improve the effectiveness of stress detection systems in real scenarios. Photothermal techniques are infrared remote sensing techniques that have been used for biomedical applications, as well as industrial non-destructive testing (NDT). Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence, which includes a set of algorithms for learning from past data and analyzing new data, without being explicitly programmed to do so. In this paper, we first review the latest development of machine learning and its applications in photothermal techniques. Next, we present our latest work on machine learning for data analysis in opto-thermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER), which is a type of photothermal technique that has been extensively used in skin hydration, skin hydration depth profiles, skin pigments, as well as topically applied substances and skin penetration measurements. We have investigated different algorithms, such as random forest regression, gradient boosting regression, support vector machine (SVM) regression, and partial least squares regression, as well as deep learning neural network regression. The value of artificial intelligence and machine learning applications for use in heritage research is increasingly appreciated. In specific areas, notably remote sensing, datasets have increased in extent and resolution to the point that manual interpretation is problematic and the availability of skilled interpreters to undertake such work is limited. Interpretation of the geophysical datasets associated with prehistoric submerged landscapes is particularly challenging. Following the Last Glacial Maximum, sea levels rose by 120 m globally, and vast, habitable landscapes were lost to the sea. These landscapes were inaccessible until extensive remote sensing datasets were provided by the offshore energy sector. In this paper, we provide the results of a research programme centred on AI applications using data from the southern North Sea. Here, an area of c. 188,000 km2 of habitable terrestrial land was inundated between c. 20,000 BP and 7000 BP, along with the cultural heritage it contained. As part of this project, machine learning tools were applied to detect and interpret features with potential archaeological significance from shallow seismic data. The output provides a proof-of-concept model demonstrating verifiable results and the potential for a further, more complex, leveraging of AI interpretation for the study of submarine palaeolandscapes. Remote sensing datasets usually have a wide range of spatial and spectral resolutions. They provide unique advantages in surveillance systems, and many government organizations use remote sensing multispectral imagery to monitor security-critical infrastructures or targets. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has advanced rapidly in recent years and has been widely applied to remote image analysis, achieving state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance. However, AI models are vulnerable and can be easily deceived or poisoned. A malicious user may poison an AI model by creating a stealthy backdoor. A backdoored AI model performs well on clean data but behaves abnormally when a planted trigger appears in the data. Backdoor attacks have been extensively studied in machine learning-based computer vision applications with natural images. However, much less research has been conducted on remote sensing imagery, which typically consists of many more bands in addition to the red, green, and blue bands found in natural images. In this paper, we first extensively studied a popular backdoor attack, BadNets, applied to a remote sensing dataset, where the trigger was planted in all of the bands in the data. Our results showed that SOTA defense mechanisms, including Neural Cleanse, TABOR, Activation Clustering, Fine-Pruning, GangSweep, Strip, DeepInspect, and Pixel Backdoor, had difficulties detecting and mitigating the backdoor attack. We then proposed an explainable AI-guided backdoor attack specifically for remote sensing imagery by placing triggers in the image sub-bands. Our proposed attack model even poses stronger challenges to these SOTA defense mechanisms, and no method was able to defend it. Autonomy of breast cancer classification is a challenging problem, and early diagnosis is highly important. Histopathology images provide microscopic-level details of tissue samples and play a crucial role in the accurate diagnosis and classification of breast cancer. Moreover, advancements in deep learning play an essential role in early cancer diagnosis. However, existing techniques involve unique models for each classification based on the magnification factor and require training numerous models or using a hierarchical approach combining multiple models irrespective of the focus of the cell features. This may lead to lower performance for multiclass categorization. This paper adopts the DenseNet161 network by adding a learnable residual layer. The learnable residual layer enhances the features, providing low-level information. In addition, residual features are obtained from the convolution features of the preceding layer, which ensures that the future size is consistent with the number of channels in DenseNet's layer. The concatenation of spatial features with residual features helps better learn texture classification without the need for an additional texture feature extraction module. The model was validated for both binary and multiclass categorization of malignant images. The proposed model's classification accuracy ranges from 94.65% to 100% for binary and multiclass classification, and the error rate is 2.78%. More specifically, it aims to provide the reader with an in-depth exploration of the latest advancements in employing Deep Learning methodologies for the classification of brain tumor radiological images. This review meticulously scrutinizes papers published from 2018 to 2023, unveiling ongoing topics of research while underscoring the main remaining challenges and potential avenues for future research identified by those studies. Beyond the review itself, the paper also underscores the importance of placing the image data modelling provided by Deep Learning techniques within the framework of analytical pipeline research. This means that data quality control and pre-processing should be correctly coupled with modelling itself, in a way that emphasizes the importance of responsible data utilization, as well as the critical need for transparency in data disclosure to ensure trustworthiness and reproducibility of findings. Machine Learning is entering a phase of maturity, but its medical applications still lag behind in terms of practical use. Fire chemical sensing for indoor detection of fire plays an essential role because it can detect chemical volatiles before smoke particles, providing a faster and more reliable method for early fire detection. A thermal imaging camera and seven distinct fire-detecting sensors were used simultaneously to acquire the multimodal fire data that is the subject of this paper. The low-cost sensors typically have lower sensitivity and reliability, making it impossible for them to detect fire at greater distances. To go beyond the limitation of using solely sensors for identifying fire, the multimodal dataset is collected using a thermal camera that can detect temperature changes. The proposed pipeline uses image data from thermal cameras to train convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and their many versions. The training of sensors data (from fire sensors) uses bidirectional long-short memory (BiLSTM-Dense) and dense and long-short memory (LSTM-DenseDenseNet201), and the merging of both datasets demonstrates the performance of multimodal data. Researchers and system developers can use the dataset to create and hone cutting-edge artificial intelligence models and systems. Initial evaluation of the image dataset has shown densenet201 as the best approach with the highest validation parameters (0.99, 0.99, 0.99, and 0.08), i.e., Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and Loss, respectively. However, the sensors dataset has also shown the highest parameters with the BILSTM-Dense approach (0.95, 0.95, 0.95, 0.14). In a multimodal data approach, image and sensors deployed with a multimodal algorithm (densenet201 for image data and Bi LSTM- Dense for Sensors Data) has shown other parameters (1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 0.06). This work demonstrates that, in comparison to the conventional deep learning approach, the federated learning (FL) approach performs privacy-protected fire leakage classification without significantly sacrificing accuracy and other validation parameters. It is crucial to evaluate and anticipate stability under various conditions, as the ability to stabilize a smart grid (SG) is one of its key features for assessing the effectiveness of its design. Intelligent approaches to stability forecasting are necessary to mitigate inadvertent instability in SG design. This is particularly crucial with the expansion of residential and commercial infrastructures, along with the growing integration of renewable energies into these grids. Predicting the stability of SGs is currently a major challenge. The concept of an SG encompasses a broad range of emerging technologies in which artificial intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role and is increasingly being utilized in light of the limitations of conventional methods. It empowers informed decision-making and adaptable responses to fluctuations in customer energy needs, unexpected power outages, rapid changes in renewable energy generation, or any unforeseen crises within an SG system. In this paper, we propose a symmetric approach to enhance SG stability by integrating various machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms, where symmetry is observed in the balanced application of these diverse computational techniques to predict and ensure the grid's stability. These algorithms utilized a dataset containing the simulation results of the SG stability. The learning phase of these algorithms is based on imprecise and unreliable data. To overcome this limitation, the fusion of classifiers can be a powerful approach to modeling inaccurate and uncertain data, providing more robust and reliable predictions than individual classifiers. Voting and Dempster–Shafer (DS) methods, two commonly used techniques in ensemble learning, were employed and compared. Visual object tracking is a key technology that is used in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to achieve autonomous navigation. In recent years, with the rapid development of deep learning, tracking algorithms based on Siamese neural networks have received widespread attention. However, because of complex and diverse tracking scenarios, as well as limited computational resources, most existing tracking algorithms struggle to ensure real-time stable operation while improving tracking performance. Therefore, studying efficient and fast-tracking frameworks, and enhancing the ability of algorithms to respond to complex scenarios has become crucial. Therefore, this paper proposes a cross-parallel attention and efficient match transformer for aerial tracking (SiamEMT). Firstly, we carefully designed the cross-parallel attention mechanism to encode global feature information and to achieve cross-dimensional interaction and feature correlation aggregation via parallel branches, highlighting feature saliency and reducing global redundancy information, as well as improving the tracking algorithm's ability to distinguish between targets and backgrounds. Meanwhile, we implemented an efficient match transformer to achieve feature matching. This network utilizes parallel, lightweight, multi-head attention mechanisms to pass template information to the search region features, better matching the global similarity between the template and search regions, and improving the algorithm's ability to perceive target location and feature information. Experiments on multiple drone public benchmark tests verified the accuracy and robustness of the proposed tracker in drone tracking scenarios. Satellite observations provide critical data for a myriad of applications, but automated information extraction from such vast datasets remains challenging. While artificial intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning methods, offers promising solutions for land cover classification, it often requires massive amounts of accurate, error-free annotations. This paper introduces a novel approach to generate a segmentation task dataset with minimal human intervention, thus significantly reducing annotation time and potential human errors. 'Samples' extracted from actual imagery were utilized to construct synthetic composite images, representing 10 segmentation classes. A DeepResUNet was solely trained on this synthesized dataset, eliminating the need for further fine-tuning. Preliminary findings demonstrate impressive generalization abilities on real data across various regions of Quebec. Neuroimaging experts in biotech industries can benefit from using cutting-edge artificial intelligence techniques for Alzheimer's disease (AD)- and dementia-stage prediction, even though it is difficult to anticipate the precise stage of dementia and AD. Therefore, we propose a cutting-edge, computer-assisted method based on an advanced deep learning algorithm to differentiate between people with varying degrees of dementia, including healthy, very mild dementia, mild dementia, and moderate dementia classes. In this paper, four separate models were developed for classifying different dementia stages: convolutional neural networks (CNNs) built from scratch, pre-trained VGG16 with additional convolutional layers, graph convolutional networks (GCNs), and CNN-GCN models. The CNNs were implemented, and then the flattened layer output was fed to the GCN classifier, resulting in the proposed CNN-GCN architecture. A total of 6400 whole-brain magnetic resonance imaging scans were obtained from the Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative database to train and evaluate the proposed methods. We applied the 5-fold cross-validation (CV) technique for all the models. We presented the results from the best fold out of the five folds in assessing the performance of the models developed in this study. Hence, for the best fold of the 5-fold CV, the above-mentioned models achieved an overall accuracy of 43.83%, 71.17%, 99.06%, and 100%, respectively. The CNN-GCN model, in particular, demonstrates excellent performance in classifying different stages of dementia. Gastrointestinal (GI) tract disorders are a significant public health issue. They are becoming more common and can cause serious health problems and high healthcare costs. Small bowel tumours (SBTs) and colorectal cancer (CRC) are both becoming more prevalent, especially among younger adults. Early detection and removal of polyps (precursors of malignancy) is essential for prevention. Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) is a procedure that utilises swallowable camera devices that capture images of the GI tract. Because WCE generates a large number of images, automated polyp segmentation is crucial. This paper reviews computer-aided approaches to polyp detection using WCE imagery and evaluates them using a dataset of labelled anomalies and findings. The study focuses on YOLO-V8, an improved deep learning model, for polyp segmentation and finds that it performs better than existing methods, achieving high precision and recall. The proliferation of classification-capable artificial intelligence (AI) across a wide range of domains (e.g., agriculture, construction, etc.) has been allowed to optimize and complement several tasks, typically operationalized by humans. The computational training that allows providing such support is frequently hindered by various challenges related to datasets, including the scarcity of examples and imbalanced class distributions, which have detrimental effects on the production of accurate models. For a proper approach to these challenges, strategies smarter than the traditional brute force-based K-fold cross-validation or the naivety of hold-out are required, with the following main goals in mind: (1) carrying out one-shot, close-to-optimal data arrangements, accelerating conventional training optimization; and (2) aiming at maximizing the capacity of inference models to its fullest extent while relieving computational burden. To that end, in this paper, two image-based feature-aware dataset splitting approaches are proposed, hypothesizing a contribution towards attaining classification models that are closer to their full inference potential. Both rely on strategic image harvesting: while one of them hinges on weighted random selection out of a feature-based clusters set, the other involves a balanced picking process from a sorted list that stores data features' distances to the centroid of a whole feature space. Comparative tests on datasets related to grapevine leaves phenotyping and bridge defects showcase promising results, highlighting a viable alternative to K-fold cross-validation and hold-out methods. The delineation of parotid glands in head and neck (HN) carcinoma is critical to assess radiotherapy (RT) planning. Segmentation processes ensure precise target position and treatment precision, facilitate monitoring of anatomical changes, enable plan adaptation, and enhance overall patient safety. In this context, artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL) have proven exceedingly effective in precisely outlining tumor tissues and, by extension, the organs at risk. This paper introduces a DL framework using the AttentionUNet neural network for automatic parotid gland segmentation in HN cancer. Extensive evaluation of the model is performed in two public and one private dataset, while segmentation accuracy is compared with other state-of-the-art DL segmentation schemas. To assess replanning necessity during treatment, an additional registration method is implemented on the segmentation output, aligning images of different modalities (Computed Tomography (CT) and Cone Beam CT (CBCT)). AttentionUNet outperforms similar DL methods (Dice Similarity Coefficient: 82.65% ± 1.03, Hausdorff Distance: 6.24 mm ± 2.47), confirming its effectiveness. The wrist is one of the most complex joints in our body, composed of eight bones. Therefore, measuring the angles of this intricate wrist movement can prove valuable in various fields such as sports analysis and rehabilitation. Textile stretch sensors can be easily produced by immersing an E-band in a SWCNT solution. The lightweight, cost-effective, and reproducible nature of textile stretch sensors makes them well suited for practical applications in clothing. In this paper, wrist angles were measured by attaching textile stretch sensors to an arm sleeve. Three sensors were utilized to measure all three axes of the wrist. Additionally, sensor precision was heightened through the utilization of the Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) technique, a subtype of deep learning. Rather than fixing the measurement values of each sensor to specific axes, we created an algorithm utilizing the coupling between sensors, allowing the measurement of wrist angles in three dimensions. Using this algorithm, the error angle of wrist angles measured with textile stretch sensors could be measured at less than 4.5°. Remote sensing images change detection technology has become a popular tool for monitoring the change type, area, and distribution of land cover, including cultivated land, forest land, photovoltaic, roads, and buildings. However, traditional methods which rely on pre-annotation and on-site verification are time-consuming and challenging to meet timeliness requirements. With the emergence of artificial intelligence, this paper proposes an automatic change detection model and a crowdsourcing collaborative framework. The framework uses human-in-the-loop technology and an active learning approach to transform the manual interpretation method into a human-machine collaborative intelligent interpretation method. This low-cost and high-efficiency framework aims to solve the problem of weak model generalization caused by the lack of annotated data in change detection. The proposed framework can effectively incorporate expert domain knowledge and reduce the cost of data annotation while improving model performance. To ensure data quality, a crowdsourcing quality control model is constructed to evaluate the annotation qualification of the annotators and check their annotation results. Furthermore, a prototype of automatic detection and crowdsourcing collaborative annotation management platform is developed, which integrates annotation, crowdsourcing quality control, and change detection applications. With the development of artificial intelligence, the ability to capture the background characteristics of hyperspectral imagery (HSI) has improved, showing promising performance in hyperspectral anomaly detection (HAD) tasks. However, existing methods proposed in recent years still suffer from certain limitations: (1) Constraints are lacking in the deep feature learning process in terms of the issue of the absence of prior background and anomaly information. (2) Hyperspectral anomaly detectors with traditional self-supervised deep learning methods fail to ensure prioritized reconstruction of the background. (3) The architecture of fully connected deep networks in hyperspectral anomaly detectors leads to low utilization of spatial information and the destruction of the original spatial relationship in hyperspectral imagery and disregards the spectral correlation between adjacent pixels. (4) Hypotheses or assumptions for background and anomaly distributions restrict the performance of many hyperspectral anomaly detectors because the distributions of background land covers are usually complex and not assumable in real-world hyperspectral imagery. In consideration of the above problems, in this paper, we propose a novel fully convolutional auto-encoder based on dual clustering and latent feature adversarial consistency (FCAE-DCAC) for HAD, which is carried out with self-supervised learning-based processing. Firstly, density-based spatial clustering of applications with a noise algorithm and connected component analysis are utilized for successive spectral and spatial clustering to obtain more precise prior background and anomaly information, which facilitates the separation between background and anomaly samples during the training of our method. Subsequently, a novel fully convolutional auto-encoder (FCAE) integrated with a spatial–spectral joint attention (SSJA) mechanism is proposed to enhance the utilization of spatial information and augment feature expression. In addition, a latent feature adversarial consistency network with the ability to learn actual background distribution in hyperspectral imagery is proposed to achieve pure background reconstruction. Finally, a triplet loss is introduced to enhance the separability between background and anomaly, and the reconstruction residual serves as the anomaly detection result. We evaluate the proposed method based on seven groups of real-world hyperspectral datasets, and the experimental results confirm the effectiveness and superior performance of the proposed method versus nine state-of-the-art methods. This paper presents a pioneering study in the application of real-time surface landmine detection using a combination of robotics and deep learning. We introduce a novel system integrated within a demining robot, capable of detecting landmines in real time with high recall. Utilizing YOLOv8 models, we leverage both optical imaging and artificial intelligence to identify two common types of surface landmines: PFM-1 (butterfly) and PMA-2 (starfish with tripwire). Our system runs at 2 FPS on a mobile device missing at most 1.6% of targets. It demonstrates significant advancements in operational speed and autonomy, surpassing conventional methods while being compatible with other approaches like UAV. Artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a promising tool in the field of healthcare, with an increasing number of research articles evaluating its applications in the domain of kidney disease. To comprehend the evolving landscape of AI research in kidney disease, a bibliometric analysis is essential. The purposes of this study are to systematically analyze and quantify the scientific output, research trends, and collaborative networks in the application of AI to kidney disease. This study collected AI-related articles published between 2012 and 20 November 2023 from the Web of Science. Descriptive analyses of research trends in the application of AI in kidney disease were used to determine the growth rate of publications by authors, journals, institutions, and countries. Visualization network maps of country collaborations and author-provided keyword co-occurrences were generated to show the hotspots and research trends in AI research on kidney disease. The initial search yielded 673 articles, of which 631 were included in the analyses. Our findings reveal a noteworthy exponential growth trend in the annual publications of AI applications in kidney disease. Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation emerged as the leading publisher, accounting for 4.12% (26 out of 631 papers), followed by the American Journal of Transplantation at 3.01% (19/631) and Scientific Reports at 2.69% (17/631). The primary contributors were predominantly from the United States (n = 164, 25.99%), followed by China (n = 156, 24.72%) and India (n = 62, 9.83%). In terms of institutions, Mayo Clinic led with 27 contributions (4.27%), while Harvard University (n = 19, 3.01%) and Sun Yat-Sen University (n = 16, 2.53%) secured the second and third positions, respectively. This study summarized AI research trends in the field of kidney disease through statistical analysis and network visualization. A vehicle detection algorithm is an indispensable component of intelligent traffic management and control systems, influencing the efficiency and functionality of the system. In this paper, we propose a lightweight improvement method for the YOLOv5 algorithm based on integrated perceptual attention, with few parameters and high detection accuracy. First, we propose a lightweight module IPA with a Transformer encoder based on integrated perceptual attention, which leads to a reduction in the number of parameters while capturing global dependencies for richer contextual information. Second, we propose a lightweight and efficient multiscale spatial channel reconstruction (MSCCR) module that does not increase parameter and computational complexity and facilitates representative feature learning. Finally, we incorporate the IPA module and the MSCCR module into the YOLOv5s backbone network to reduce model parameters and improve accuracy. The test results show that, compared with the original model, the model parameters decrease by about 9%, the average accuracy (mAP@50) increases by 3.1%, and the FLOPS does not increase. The agricultural sector faces several difficulties today in ensuring the safety of food supply, including water scarcity. This study presents the design and development of a low-cost and full-featured fog-IoT/AI system targeted towards smallholder farmer communities (SFCs). However, the smallholder community is hesitant to adopt technology-based solutions. There are many overwhelming reasons for this, but the high cost, implementation complexity, and malfunctioning sensors cause inappropriate decisions. The PRIMA INTEL-IRRIS project aims to make digital and innovative agricultural technologies more appealing and available to these communities by advancing the intelligent irrigation "in-the-box" concept. Considered a vital resource, collected data are used to detect anomalies or abnormal behavior, providing information about an occurrence or a node failure. To prevent agro-field data leakage, this paper presents an innovative, smart, and sustainable low-cost irrigation system that employs artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to analyze anomalies and problems in water usage. The sensor anomaly can be detected using an autoencoder (AE) and a generative adversarial network (GAN). We will feed the autoencoders' anomaly detection models with time series records from the datasets and replace detected anomalies with the reconstructed outputs. When integrated with an IoT platform, this methodology is a tool for easing the labeling of sensor anomalies and can help create supervised datasets for future research. In addition, anomalies can be corrected by prediction models based on deep learning approaches, applying CNN/BiLSTM architecture. The results show that AEs outperform the GANs, achieving an accuracy of 90%, 95%, and 97% for soil moisture, air temperature, and air humidity, respectively. Systematic reviews are cumbersome yet essential to the epistemic process of medical science. Finding significant reports, however, is a daunting task because the sheer volume of published literature makes the manual screening of databases time-consuming. The use of Artificial Intelligence could make literature processing faster and more efficient. Sentence transformers are groundbreaking algorithms that can generate rich semantic representations of text documents and allow for semantic queries. In the present report, we compared four freely available sentence transformer pre-trained models (all-MiniLM-L6-v2, all-MiniLM-L12-v2, all-mpnet-base-v2, and All-distilroberta-v1) on a convenience sample of 6110 articles from a published systematic review. The authors of this review manually screened the dataset and identified 24 target articles that addressed the Focused Questions (FQ) of the review. We applied the four sentence transformers to the dataset and, using the FQ as a query, performed a semantic similarity search on the dataset. The models identified similarities between the FQ and the target articles to a varying degree, and, sorting the dataset by semantic similarities using the best-performing model (all-mpnet-base-v2), the target articles could be found in the top 700 papers out of the 6110 dataset. Our data indicate that the choice of an appropriate pre-trained model could remarkably reduce the number of articles to screen and the time to completion for systematic reviews. Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) offer the potential to customize the radio propagation environment for wireless networks, and will be a key element for 6G communications. However, due to the unique constraints in these systems, the optimization problems associated to RIS configuration are challenging to solve. This paper illustrates a new approach to the RIS configuration problem, based on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL) algorithms. Concretely, a custom convolutional neural network (CNN) intended for edge computing is presented, and implementations on different representative edge devices are compared, including the use of commercial AI-oriented devices and a field-programmable gate array (FPGA) platform. This FPGA option provides the best performance, with × 20 performance increase over the closest FP32, GPU-accelerated option, and almost × 3 performance advantage when compared with the INT8-quantized, TPU-accelerated implementation. More noticeably, this is achieved even when high-level synthesis (HLS) tools are used and no custom accelerators are developed. Simple Summary: Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related death in women. The early detection of breast cancer with screening mammograms plays a pivotal role in reducing mortality rates. Although population-based double-reading screening mammograms have reduced mortality by over 31% in women with breast cancer in Europe, continuing this program is difficult due to the shortage of radiologists. Artificial intelligence (AI) is an emerging technology that has provided promising results in medical imaging for disease detection. This study investigates the performance of AI models on an Australian mammographic database, demonstrating how transfer learning from a USA mammographic database to an Australian one, contrast enhancement on mammographic images and the quality of training data according to radiologists' concordance can improve breast cancer diagnosis. Our proposed methodology offers a more efficacious approach for AI to contribute to radiologists' decision making when interpreting mammography images. This paper investigates the adaptability of four state-of-the-art artificial intelligence (AI) models to the Australian mammographic context through transfer learning, explores the impact of image enhancement on model performance and analyses the relationship between AI outputs and histopathological features for clinical relevance and accuracy assessment. A total of 1712 screening mammograms (n = 856 cancer cases and n = 856 matched normal cases) were used in this study. The 856 cases with cancer lesions were annotated by two expert radiologists and the level of concordance between their annotations was used to establish two sets: a 'high-concordances subset' with 99% agreement of cancer location and an 'entire dataset' with all cases included. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) was used to evaluate the performance of Globally aware Multiple Instance Classifier (GMIC), Global-Local Activation Maps (GLAM), I&H and End2End AI models, both in the pretrained and transfer learning modes, with and without applying the Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) algorithm. The four AI models with and without transfer learning in the high-concordance subset outperformed those in the entire dataset. Applying the CLAHE algorithm to mammograms improved the performance of the AI models. In the high-concordance subset with the transfer learning and CLAHE algorithm applied, the AUC of the GMIC model was highest (0.912), followed by the GLAM model (0.909), I&H (0.893) and End2End (0.875). There were significant differences (p < 0.05) in the performances of the four AI models between the high-concordance subset and the entire dataset. The AI models demonstrated significant differences in malignancy probability concerning different tumour size categories in mammograms. The performance of AI models was affected by several factors such as concordance classification, image enhancement and transfer learning. Mammograms with a strong concordance with radiologists' annotations, applying image enhancement and transfer learning could enhance the accuracy of AI models. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

High-precision spatial-temporal wind power prediction technology is of great significance for ensuring the safe and stable operation of power grids. The development of artificial intelligence technology provides a new scheme for modeling with strong spatial-temporal correlation. In addition, the existing prediction models are mostly 'black box' models, lacking interpretability, which may lead to a lack of trust in the model by power grid dispatchers. Therefore, improving the model to obtain interpretability has become an important challenge. In this paper, an interpretable short-term wind power prediction model based on ensemble deep graph neural network is designed. Firstly, the graph network model (GNN) with an attention mechanism is applied to the aggregate and the spatial-temporal features of wind power data are extracted, and the interpretable ability is obtained. Then, the long short-term memory (LSTM) method is used to process the extracted features and establish a wind power prediction model. Finally, the random sampling algorithm is used to optimize the hyperparameters to improve the learning rate and performance of the model. Through multiple comparative experiments and a case analysis, the results show that the proposed model has a higher prediction accuracy than other traditional models and obtains reasonable interpretability in time and space dimensions. With the rapid development of object detection technology for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), it is convenient to collect data from UAV aerial photographs. They have a wide range of applications in several fields, such as monitoring, geological exploration, precision agriculture, and disaster early warning. In recent years, many methods based on artificial intelligence have been proposed for UAV object detection, and deep learning is a key area in this field. Significant progress has been achieved in the area of deep-learning-based UAV object detection. Thus, this paper presents a review of recent research on deep-learning-based UAV object detection. This survey provides an overview of the development of UAVs and summarizes the deep-learning-based methods in object detection for UAVs. In addition, the key issues in UAV object detection are analyzed, such as small object detection, object detection under complex backgrounds, object rotation, scale change, and category imbalance problems. Then, some representative solutions based on deep learning for these issues are summarized. Finally, future research directions in the field of UAV object detection are discussed.
