The three-dimensional (3D) path planning problem of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) considering the effect of environmental wind in a dense city is investigated in this paper. The mission of the UAV is to fly from its initial position to its destination while ensuring safe flight. The dense obstacle avoidance and the energy consumption in 3D space need to be considered during the mission, which are often ignored in common studies. To solve these problems, an improved Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) path planning algorithm based on Double Deep Q-Network (DDQN) is proposed in this paper. Among the algorithms, the random obstacle training method is first proposed to make the algorithm consider various flight scenarios more globally and comprehensively and improve the algorithm's robustness and adaptability. Then, the linear soft update strategy is employed to realize the smooth neural network parameter update, which enhances the stability and convergence of the training. In addition, the wind disturbances are integrated into the energy consumption model and reward function, which can effectively describe the wind disturbances during the UAV mission to achieve the minimum drag flight. To prevent the neural network from interfering with training failures, the meritocracy mechanism is proposed to enhance the algorithm's stability. The effectiveness and applicability of the proposed method are verified through simulation analysis and comparative studies. Given the increasing severity of energy shortages, the exploration of effective strategies to optimize energy structures has become imperative. This requires careful consideration of energy consumption patterns, especially since these data are fundamental inputs for policy formulation. Given the uncertainty in the rate of change in energy consumption, this paper proposes an optimized multivariable grey Bernoulli model that is rooted in the grey Bernoulli model and incorporates background values and genetic algorithms. The grey Bernoulli model effectively linearizes nonlinear problems, thus simplifying computational procedures. In addition, to account for random fluctuations of relevant factors that may affect the model's predictions, this model introduces nonlinear correction terms that allow simulation and prediction values to adhere to the grey index law. The incorporation of background values enhances the model's ability to process information, providing it with a superior grasp of real data. Genetic algorithms can be used to refine the model's parameters, increasing its adaptability and precision. Finally, this paper applies the refined model to examine China's energy consumption patterns, validating its efficacy and versatility. Furthermore, energy consumption patterns for the next four years are forecast, with the analysis revealing that the growth rate of energy consumption from 2021 to 2024 shows a downward trend, particularly notable in 2024, where the growth rate is 1.64%. The global energy crisis, which began in 2021 due to the extraordinary economic recovery after the pandemic and intensified after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has changed the conditions of energy management, paying more attention to energy efficiency. Natural gas prices have reached record levels and, consequently, so have electricity prices in some markets. Oil prices have reached their highest level since 2008. Higher energy prices have contributed to sharply increased inflation. Households are again becoming interested in buying coal as a source of heat. High energy and gas prices have pushed many families into poverty and forced some factories to cut production or even close. They have also slowed economic growth to the point where some countries are heading for a serious recession. Paradoxically, the negative effects of the energy crisis may accelerate the introduction of cleaner, sustainable, renewable energy such as wind and solar energy. The energy crisis is comparable to the oil crisis of the 1970s, when it contributed to significant advances in energy efficiency. The current crisis has highlighted the importance of investments in renewable energy resources and initiated the process of integrating regional markets, developing energy efficiency and promoting renewable energies. The aim of this article is to comprehensively explore the complex relationship between energy awareness, consumption patterns, and energy efficiency, with a focus on both individual consumers and industries, during the global energy crisis. This paper is based on a literature review, overarching policy documents, energy reports, and other secondary documents. The primary research method was the systematic literature review method, based on which the impact of the global energy crisis on energy efficiency was evaluated. This study emphasizes the diverse influences on energy awareness, ranging from economic factors to consumer preferences and environmental consciousness. The findings of the paper underscore the significant responsibility of industries in contributing to energy-saving efforts and the active role of consumers in the energy market. Excessive particle concentrations during heating periods, which greatly affect people's physical and mental health and their normal lives, continue to be a concern. It is more practical to understand and analyze the relationship between the fractal dimension and particle size concentration distribution of atmospheric particulate matter before and after adjusting heating energy consumption types. The data discussed and analyzed in this paper were collected by monitoring stations and measured from 2016 to 2018 in Xi'an. The data include fractal dimension and particle size concentration changes in the atmospheric particulate matter before and after adjusting the heating energy consumption types. The results indicate that adjusting the heating energy consumption types has a significant impact on particulate matter. The average concentration of PM2.5 decreased by 26.4 μg/m3. The average concentration of PM10 decreased by 31.8 μg/m3. At the same time, the different particle sizes showed a downward trend. The particles ranging from 0.265 to 0.475 μm demonstrated the maximum decrease, which was 8.80%. The heating period in Xi'an mainly involves particles ranging from 0 to 0.475 μm. The fractal dimensions of the atmospheric particulate matter before and after adjusting the heating energy consumption types were 4.809 and 3.397, respectively. After adjusting the heating energy consumption types, the fractal dimension decreased by 1.412. At that time, the proportions of particle sizes that were less than 1.0 μm, 2.0 μm, and 2.5 μm decreased by 1.467%, 0.604%, and 0.424%, respectively. With the objectives of achieving "peak carbon" and "carbon neutrality", accurately quantifying the carbon emissions of road transportation becomes crucial. It is challenging to accurately describe the energy consumption of vehicles at both temporal and spatial scales from a macro perspective. Therefore, focusing on the quantitative model of vehicle micro energy consumption and road meso energy consumption, this paper reviewed and summarized the energy consumption model of road traffic in terms of data collection, quantification accuracy, and scope of application. Based on this analysis, this paper identifies the challenges of the current road traffic energy consumption model. Three-wheeled omnidirectional mobile robots (TOMRs) are widely used to accomplish precise transportation tasks in narrow environments owing to their stability, flexible operation, and heavy loads. However, these robots are susceptible to slippage. For wheeled robots, almost all faults and slippage will directly affect the power consumption. Thus, using the energy consumption model data and encoder data in the healthy condition as a reference to diagnose robot slippage and other system faults is the main issue considered in this paper. We constructed an energy model for the TOMR and analyzed the factors that affect the power consumption in detail, such as the position of the gravity center. The study primarily focuses on the characteristic relationship between power consumption and speed when the robot experiences slippage or common faults, including control system faults. Finally, we present the use of a table-based artificial neural network (ANN) to indicate the type of fault by comparing the modeled data with the measured data. The main objective of the research presented in the following work was the adaptation of reflection-radar technology in a detection and navigation system using radio-tomographic imaging techniques. As key aspects of this work, the energy optimization of high-frequency transmitters can be considered for use inside buildings while maintaining user safety. The resulting building monitoring and control system using a network of intelligent sensors supported by artificial intelligence algorithms, such as logistic regression or neural networks, should be considered an outcome. This paper discusses the methodology for extracting information from signal echoes and how they were transported and aggregated. The data extracted in this way were used to support user navigation through a building, optimize energy based on presence information, and increase the facility's overall security level. A band from 5 GHz to 6 GHz was chosen as the carrier frequency of the signals, representing a compromise between energy expenditure, range, and the properties of wave behavior in contact with different types of matter. In the past few years, there has been a notable interest in the application of machine learning methods to enhance energy efficiency in the smart building industry. The paper discusses the use of machine learning in smart buildings to improve energy efficiency by analyzing data on energy usage, occupancy patterns, and environmental conditions. The study focuses on implementing and evaluating energy consumption prediction models using algorithms like long short-term memory (LSTM), random forest, and gradient boosting regressor. Real-life case studies on educational buildings are conducted to assess the practical applicability of these models. The data is rigorously analyzed and preprocessed, and performance metrics such as root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) are used to compare the effectiveness of the algorithms. Optimizing energy consumption in heterogeneous GPU clusters is of paramount importance to enhance overall system efficiency and reduce operational costs. However, the diversity of GPU types in heterogeneous GPU clusters poses challenges for energy optimization. In this paper, we propose an utilization-prediction-aware energy optimization approach for heterogeneous GPU clusters. We utilize a feature correlation-based method to select feature vectors and improve the prediction accuracy of our GPU utilization prediction model. By constructing a model for energy consumption and combining it with the predicted results, our approach can avoid wasting too much energy on idle GPUs and reduce the energy consumption of the heterogeneous GPU cluster. To validate our approach, experiments are conducted on real Alibaba data. The results show that our model achieved a good performance in predicting the utilization for four types of GPUs, with RMSE, MAE and R 2 average values of 7.08, 3.81 and 0.93, respectively. Energy, being one of the significant drivers of growth, has gained much focus in the last four decades. A connection between energy and growth exists in the economy: on the one hand, energy is a vital factor of production while growth improves living standards, which increases energy consumption on the other hand. Previous studies on the energy‐growth nexus paid less attention to sectorial differentials in the consumption of energy and growth. Also, the literature could not relate that to sustainable development. Thus, this study explores the sectorial differentials in energy consumption and how they affect the energy‐growth nexus within the context of sustainable development. The research employed secondary data for 46 sub‐Saharan Africa (SSA) countries for the period 2007 to 2020. Using the General Methods of Moments estimation technique, we found that all the measures of energy consumption positively affect economic growth. Also, CO2 intensity is positively related to growth in the economy while CO2 emissions from solid fuels negatively affect economic growth. Cooling equipment is widely used in industry, commerce and households. Due to their widespread use, they are responsible for the consumption of a significant amount of electricity. They are subject to degradation and various types of damage. Most often, their energy efficiency decreases and electricity consumption increases. Practice shows that even a specialist service is unable to diagnose damage at an early stage of its development. The paper presents a comparison of continuous monitoring of the temperature of the cooling chamber as a utility standard, with constant monitoring of the temperature of the cooling chamber and electricity consumption of a professional refrigeration cabinet with a built-in condensing unit. The comparative analysis was intended to confirm the thesis about unconscious waste resulting from assessing the correct operation of the device based on limited information. The experiment showed an increase in daily electricity consumption on average by over 30% during the period of unconscious exploitation of the device in a state of failure and an increase in daily electricity consumption on average above 300% during the period of conscious exploitation of the device in a state of failure, but still at an acceptable level of temperature of cooling chamber. Over time, several relationships have been defined between electricity consumption and a region's social and economic variables, with income as the main factor. This paper uses multiple correspondence analysis to identify the categories of dwellings and, from a graphical point of view (positioning maps), the effects of the different characteristics that influence the electricity consumption of households in rural areas of Cundinamarca, Colombia. In this analysis, the consumption of residential users responded mainly to what they can afford or acquire based on their income, consumption habits, and the characteristics of the technology. Furthermore, this study highlights the implications of these findings for policymakers and energy providers, providing valuable insights for developing targeted strategies to promote energy efficiency and sustainability in rural areas. Building energy baseline models, particularly machine learning-based models, are a core aspect in the evaluation of building energy performance to identify inefficient energy consumption behavior. In smart city design, energy planners and decision makers require comprehensive information on energy consumption across diverse building types as well as comparisons between different types of buildings. However, there is no comprehensive study of baseline modeling across the main building types to help identify factors that influence the performance of different machine learning algorithms for baseline modeling. Therefore, the goal of this paper is to review and analyze energy consumption behavior and evaluate the prediction performance and interpretability of machine learning-based baseline modeling techniques across major building types. The results have shown that the Extreme Gradient Boosting Machine (XGBoost) model is the most accurate baseline modeling method for all building types. Time-related factors, especially the week of the year and the day of the week, have the most impact on energy consumption across all building types. This study is presented as a useful resource for smart city energy managers to help in choosing and setting up appropriate methodologies for better operational effectiveness and efficiencies when designing and planning smart energy systems. This paper focuses on the hitherto less explored issue regarding the nature of the relationship between firms' green mode (including setting environmental targets, monitoring environmental burden, and adopting measures against environmental burden) and the production of process innovations. For these purposes, we focus on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, which, together with their eastern neighbors, have historically represented the main polluters of the European environment. By using the World Bank Enterprise Survey and data from 3,299 firms in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Slovakia and the binary logistic regression, we provide evidence that a firm's green mode expressed, for example, by its monitoring of energy consumption or adoption of measures of environmental burden, can significantly trigger its introduction of process innovations. Moreover, we show that a firm's membership in firm groups increases its chances to introduce process innovations. In contrast, we show that firm age does not play a role in our analyses. Our results contribute to the innovation and sustainability literature, especially to the ongoing discussion regarding the innovation and environmental performance of Central and Eastern European countries. This paper proposes a refrigerant cooling method using an inner tube in a storage tank to improve the cooling performance and thermal uniformity during the storing of edible oil. With a prototype of an oil tank in Central Grain Reserve of Zhenjiang, the experimental oil tank was built in a scale of 50:1. Both natural and manual cooling experiments were carried out for the experimental tank. The manual cooling process involved two supplying modes for the refrigerant tube (top and bottom) and four different refrigerant temperatures (10 ℃, 12 ℃, 14 ℃, 16 ℃). The experimental results show that, compared with natural cooling, manual cooling can effectively reduce the temperature difference and thermal stratification between upper and lower layers. The temperature difference is 6.79 ℃, 1.93 ℃, and 3.67 ℃ for the natural cooling, manual top supplying, and manual bottom supplying mode, respectively. Furthermore, for the two manual modes, the cooling efficiency of bottom supplying is 21.4% higher than that of the top supplying, and the average oil temperature drops by 0.8–1 ℃. Based on experimental results, different working conditions (20, 40, and 60 ml/s) were simulated to determine the optimal flow rate for bottom supplying mode. The simulation results indicate that the low flow rate (20 ml/s) corresponds to the best thermal uniformity, and the maximum temperature has no obvious change under different flow rate conditions. Sustainable smart cities (SSCs) target decarbonisation by optimising energy consumption through the emerging capabilities of technology. Nevertheless, the energy consumption behaviour of end users has the potential to compromise the effectiveness of technological interventions, reflecting the importance of active social engagement in realising decarbonisation goals. Although extensive research exists on energy consumption behaviour, little is known about how technology engagement affects it, the nature of these technologies, and their role in SSC. The paper aims to identify, categorise, and investigate the smart technologies that impact household energy consumption behaviours and their integration into the larger SSC system. Following a systematic review of 60 articles from the Scopus database (2013–2023), the study found 45 smart technologies cited, with 49% affecting efficiency behaviour and 51% affecting curtailment behaviour. While these technologies inform the city administration level in the SSC framework, the role of end users remains unclear, suggesting a technocratic approach. The study proposes the Sustainable Smart City Network to facilitate a grassroots approach, identifying five key domains: government policies, smart technology adoption, smart technology engagement, smart city infrastructure, and urban sustainability. The study provides an original contribution to knowledge by unveiling the key technologies affecting energy consumption behaviour and outlining the pragmatic requirements for achieving decarbonisation through a grassroots approach. Based on particle size distribution characteristics, this paper explored the energy dissipation law in the coal ultrafine grinding process. By studying the fractal dimension of coal particle size distribution under the multi-domain fractal rule, the truncated particle size was introduced to characterize the energy consumption changes of coarse, intermediate, and fine particles. Combined with macro-energy consumption laws and three-piecewise fractal dimensions, a micro-energy consumption theory considering lattice fracture and agglomeration of ultrafine particles was proposed. On this basis, the energy consumption fractal dimension DE was proposed, and its theoretical calculation value was 2.021. The energy consumption formula of coal ultrafine grinding was established, in which energy consumption was characterized by the DEth power of the added surface area of coal particles. The DE obtained by the specific surface area and the adsorption equilibrium constant of pores were 2.285 and 2.564, respectively, which confirmed the reliability of the above theoretical analysis. The paper investigates the interplay between clean energy, environmental pollution reduction, and economic growth in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries from 1980 to 2019, utilizing the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) method. The study underscores the global transition towards cleaner energy sources and its implications for the region. In assessing the determinants of economic growth, the findings reveal a positive and significant short- and long-term impact of energy production, with energy consumption exhibiting a positive and significant effect solely in the long term. The absence of a confirmed relationship in the short term is notable. Causality tests demonstrate a significant link from both energy consumption types to environmental pollution, alongside causal relationships from urbanization, energy production, and consumption to economic growth. Moreover, the results include the pivotal role of energy production in driving GDP growth, caution in short-term energy consumption effects, and significant causal links between energy consumption and environmental pollution. The recommendations to incentivize sustainable energy production, engage in long-term energy consumption planning, and adopt integrated urbanization policies provide actionable insights for policymakers. With escalating demands for high-definition video, cache collaboration allows neighbor nodes to share locally stored content in order to reduce download traffic. High energy consumption associated with content delivery remains a concern for Content Distribution Networks (CDNs). Therefore, this paper proposes cluster-based collaborative caching in a core network employing IP over WDM. The aim is to allow sets of core caches to fully share content while minimizing power. A Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is used to form energy-efficient cache clusters. The energy consumption of the network is evaluated under different cluster sizes to find the optimum size that minimizes energy. To evaluate the influence of content popularity distribution, a heavy-tailed Zipf distribution and an Equal popularity distribution are evaluated. In addition, the work investigates the influence of downlink traffic behavior and power consumption parameters on optimum cluster sizes. Attained results reveal that maximum savings in energy consumption introduced by cluster-based collaborative caching are up to 34.3% and 21.8% under the Zipf and Equal distribution, respectively. Cache collaboration is not recommended when all core nodes contain fully replicated content servers. Results also show that power consumption parameters do not influence cluster formation. Each consumer implements a Smart Home Energy Management System (SHEMS) to optimize their energy consumption according to their desired comfort and preferences. To modify the consumption pattern of household consumers, a Real-Time Pricing (RTP) algorithm is proposed to reflect the energy price of the wholesale market to the retail market and consumers. In addition, a Self-Healing System Reconfiguration (SHSR) program integrated with Distributed Energy Resources (DER), reactive power compensation equipment, and Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) is presented to manage the DN energy and restore the network loads in disruptive events. The reconfiguration operation is performed by converting the isolated part of the DN from the upstream network to several self-sufficient networked virtual microgrids without executing any switching process. Real data of California households are considered to model the home appliances and HESSs. With the fragmentation of global production, the share of intermediate trade in international trade has increased significantly. Nevertheless, more research must be done on how intermediate trade factors influence energy consumption. This paper utilized the multi-regional input-output (MRIO) model to categorize China's energy utilization into six parts based on its position within the global production chain. Additionally, it examined the impact of intermediate factors on China's energy consumption through index decomposition analysis (IDA). The results revealed that: (1) from 2000 to 2014, intermediate factors led to an increase of 1380.96Mtces in China's energy consumption, accounting for around 37% of the national total; (2) the reduction in efficiency is the primary cause of the surge in domestic intermediate energy consumption, while the increase in market proportion is the dominant driver promoting international intermediate energy consumption growth; (3) the international intermediate proportion contributed the most among all intermediate factors. Excessive fuel consumption of heavy duty trucks aggravates environmental pollution and leads to reduced economic benefits of road transportation enterprises. In order to study the influencing factors of fuel consumption of heavy duty trucks, based on real-time vehicle operating parameter data, this paper establishes a segment fuel consumption prediction model based on LightGBM algorithm. The fitting ability of the model is improved by feature selection and Optuna hyperparameter search. The performance is compared with other models. The results show that the prediction effect of LightGBM model is optimal. Finally, based on the SHAP framework, the prediction results of the optimal fragmented fuel consumption model are visually explained. The conclusion that average speed and average throttle pedal value have a significant impact on segmented fuel consumption. Full utilization of the potential regulation ability of flexible loads in an integrated energy system (IES) and expanding its structure for more flexibility via integrating auxiliary devices is the key to realizing its high-efficiency operation and high-proportion renewable consumption. The present paper builds the flexible regulation models of thermal and electrical loads and introduces them to the structure expansion planning of IES. A two-stage stochastic probability optimization method integrating the uncertain operation of introducing flexible loads is then proposed to balance the additional costs of device integration and the benefits of performance promotion. Herein, an enhanced sample average approximation based on a stochastic hierarchy scenario generation method is developed to solve the optimization. The regulation mechanisms of flexible loads and their influence on expansion planning are then analyzed by comparing the optimized results. The results show that the path to decreasing the cost via introducing flexible thermal and electrical loads into optimization is increasing renewable consumption and coordinating an increment in renewable consumption and average electrical efficiency, respectively. The regulation between them has synergism on cost reduction and saturation on increasing renewable consumption. The synergism can reduce the cost by 0.62 %. The ever-intensifying threat of climate change renders the electric power system undergoing a profound transition toward net-zero emissions. Energy efficiency measures, such as demand response, facilitate the transformation to jointly relieve consumers' financial burden and improve the operability of the electric power grid, in a carbon-free way. In this paper, we design a cluster-based appliance-level-of-use demand response program, based on the massive volume of appliance consumption data, to expand the role demand response can play in the power grid's low-carbon transition. We systematically model the appliance-level utility function to distinguish consumers' distinct consumption patterns. We then develop a bi-level optimization model to capture the interactions between individual consumers and a distribution system operator (DSO) and enable appliance-level-of-use demand response functions. To further improve the efficiency and scalability of the proposed mechanism, we propose a cluster-based approach to capture the heterogeneity of users based on their energy consumption behaviors. In this paper, the ELEKTRA framework is introduced, a novel community energy management system that organizes the prosumers into autonomous communities and determines the prosumers' optimal energy procurement in a distributed manner. Our motivation stems from the increasing complexity of the energy procurement for prosumers and the need for more efficient and decentralized approaches to optimize their energy consumption. The first element of the ELEKTRA framework implements an autonomous hedonic game-theoretic model at the prosumers' home energy management controllers, considering the prosumers' individual energy consumption and generation patterns, as well as the utility-provided rewards for proactive participation. Specifically, the prosumer grouping is modeled as a hedonic game, demonstrating the existence of a Nash-stable and individually-stable prosumer grouping. The second element of the ELEKTRA framework employs a distributed non-cooperative game-theoretic approach. This addresses how prosumers strategically consume energy to meet their needs while maximizing their payoff by procuring additional energy from the utility company. Also, utilizing the theory of n -person concave games allows for a thorough evaluation of accuracy, performance, and complexity in determining optimal energy consumption for prosumers. A comprehensive evaluation of the ELEKTRA framework is conducted using real data from the southwest region of USA. This paper presents a novel 3D path planning method for the underwater glider (UG) that incorporates adaptive segment strategy, motion parameters optimization, and an improved JADE algorithm. The method aims to generate an energy-efficient path by adapting to ocean currents and seabed topography and selecting favorable motion parameters. We establish an energy consumption model for a blended-wing-body UG, examining the influence of motion parameters and ocean currents on its performance. The proposed method encodes an energy-optimal gliding path through multiple path segments, each defined by a set of path points, pitch angles, and diving depths. The fitness function, based on energy consumption, guides the optimization process. To enhance the optimization, we present an improved JADE algorithm with multi-mutation strategies, which adaptively updates the mutation operation and mean crossover probability. Our method was assessed and compared with a classical UG path planning method on 6 test scenarios. The wave glider (WG) formation has advantages over individual WG, such as faster covering environments and increased robustness. To provide a foundation for maintaining formation navigation, members of the WG formation need to meet position, course and time requirements when reaching the rendezvous points. To meet the formation rendezvous requirements of the WGs, a distributed cooperative particle swarm optimization (DCPSO) algorithm is proposed in this paper, simultaneously optimizing multiple pythagorean hodograph (PH) curves to construct paths. In the DCPSO, a representative particle for evaluating team fitness is selected by each sub-swarm after each iteration, and the particle velocity is jointly determined by three kinds of best positions. Considering the underactuation of the WG and the significant influence of ocean currents, an energy consumption model, dynamic curvature constraints, and a velocity model for the WG under the ocean current disturbance are incorporated into the fitness functions of the DCPSO. Simulation results demonstrate that the paths generated by the DCPSO ensure that each formation member reaches the rendezvous point almost simultaneously with the same course, while ensuring safe navigation and reducing energy consumption. With the rapid expansion of computational infrastructure, the electricity consumption of geographically dispersed Internet Data Centers (IDCs) has imposed a substantial influence on the power grid. Geographically distributed IDCs, which present a versatile electricity demand with significant operational flexibility, hold potential for mitigating cost issues and balancing regional supply and load demand. To exploit this flexibility, this paper has developed a dual-drive coordinated operational strategy, which integrates locational electricity prices and unit carbon emission costs based on the dynamic carbon emission intensity (DCEI) of various regions as interaction signals to improve coordination effectiveness. The upper-level determines the consumption behaviour of IDCs, the lower-level provides feedback on dual-drive signals factoring in IDCs' involvement in grid operation, whilst an iterative algorithm is suggested to solve the bi-level model. Case studies based on real-world datasets demonstrate that the proposed operation strategy can achieve arbitrage through multi-regional carbon-electricity markets, significantly reduce operating costs, and support the rapid development of IDCs. Multi-energy systems with carbon capture system (CCS) and power to gas (P2G) can reduce carbon emissions while increasing the consumption of renewable energy. This paper proposed a long-term equilibrium including electricity, gas and carbon markets to study the price effect of the system and its impact on the carbon-gas- electricity sector. The simulation results indicate that the main impact of the system on the electricity sector is to reduce energy curtailment and provide flexible resource for the electric system. P2G used an excess of 22.21 TWh of renewable energy, while CCS used 2.65 TWh of electricity to operate the capture system. The multi-energy system will reduce the market clearing price in the gas market (the annual average gas price decreased from 276.90 to 276.30 yuan/MWh). However, the partial transfer of flexibility to the electricity sector may increase cost in the gas industry, which in turn will be transferred back to the electricity sector again. In addition, through the operation of multi-energy system, carbon elements will circulate in the three sectors. It is important to develop effective technologies for textile wastewater treatment, and membrane technologies showed great promising applications in this field. This review focused on membrane technologies for the treatment of textile wastewater. Firstly, the quantity and chemical composition of textile wastewater were discussed. The change in research hotspot and co-occurrence analysis from 2000 to 2021 were analyzed using bibliometric tools. Following this, the removals of primary pollutants using typical membrane technologies were compared. Then, current research on state-of-the-art membrane technologies for textile wastewater treatment was systematically evaluated. The performance of a range of membranes is evaluated, and the primary characteristics and influencing factors of these technologies were discussed. In terms of factors that reduce treatment efficiency, membrane fouling has the largest and broadest impact. This paper discussed mitigation measures for membrane fouling, such as membrane modification and addition of pretreatment. Performance optimization and energy consumption reduction measures for the combinations of multiple membrane processes were analyzed. The smart grid system has addressed the problems of traditional power grid by not only meeting energy demand in real-time but also limiting its wastage. The two key objectives of a smart grid system are to ensure a higher Quality of Experience (QoE) for consumers and to reduce consumer costs using dynamically varying pricing concepts. However, these two objective parameters oppose each other as maximizing the consumer QoE requires the availability of sufficient electric power at any given time, which in turn increases power purchase cost. In this paper, we introduce an efficient power management system architecture of a smart grid and develop an Optimal Energy Allocation and Prediction system based on Deep Q-Leaning, namely OEAP-DQL, that brings a trade-off between the two. The developed OEAP-DQL system is a multi-objective linear programming (MOLP) problem that predicts consumer electricity demand by exploiting four different weighted and regressive moving average forecasting methods in the action space to accurately capture dynamically varying customer demand behaviors. Furthermore, iterative exploitation of multiple learning methods decreases forecasting error and intelligent stored power management helps the OEAP-DQL smart grid operator (SGO) to enhance its profit. Lack of capital hindered the development of agricultural production and the residential energy consumption transition in rural areas, but, with the continuous advancement of digital finance technologies, rural digital credit eased the liquidity constraint of agricultural production, which influenced residential energy consumption. However, few studies explored the relationship between rural digital credit and residential energy consumption. Hence, the instrumental variable (IV) method, the mediation effect model and the survey data that covered 295 effective samples were used to analyze the impact of rural digital credit on residential energy consumption from the agricultural production perspective in this study. The results indicated that rural digital credit resulted in a significant decline of the consumption of traditional energy products, but impacts of rural digital credit on electricity consumption and the new-style energy products consumption were not significant. Further, rural digital credit reduced traditional energy products consumption via boosting the level of agricultural mechanization and the adoption of precision fertilizer applying technique. Battery electric industrial vehicles (BEIVs) offer significant environmental protection and decarbonization potential for rapidly growing logistics and transportation sectors in China. However, the limited driving range remains a major obstacle to the widespread adoption of BEIVs. Eco-driving is an effective solution that can improve energy efficiency and extend the driving range of vehicles by controlling driving behavior and speed. Therefore, this paper introduces an energy efficient speed planning method for BEIVs, in which data-driven models are developed to estimate energy consumption. Real-world driving data collected from a BEIV are used to model the energy consumption by curve fitting, random forest, and LSTM. The speed planning process is considered a Markov Decision Process, which is solved using Dynamic Programming and Q-learning, respectively. —This paper proposes two real-time energy-oriented driving strategies to minimize the energy consumption for electric vehicles on highways with varying slopes. First, a novel strategy, called normalized-energy consumption minimization strategy (NCMS), adopts a designed kinetic energy conversion factor to convert the vehicle kinetic energy change into the equivalent battery energy consumption. By minimizing the total normalized energy consumption, the energy-orientated vehicle control sequence is calculated. In addition, a logic car-following algorithm is developed to enhance NCMS for avoiding collisions with the potential preceding vehicle on the journey. Second, an improved model predictive control (MPC) is developed with a hierarchical framework, which achieves a balance between optimization and computational efficiency. In the upper level, a global, coarse-grained, iterative dynamic programming is employed to penalize the MPC terminal state, while the lower level performs online rolling optimization of the vehicle within a moderate time step. Thirdly, the performance of the proposed driving strategies is verified through a traffic simulation to evaluate the energy efficiency improvement and processor computation time compared to dynamic programming and constant speed strategy. This paper studies the price-based demand response problem in a deregulated retail electricity trading, aiming to coordinate the energy consumption behavior of end-users under dynamic retail prices. The challenge here is that in addition to the hierarchical decision-making process between utility company and end-users considered in existing works, the non-cooperative and competitive interdependence among end-users cannot be ignored. To address this issue, we first construct a novel Stackelberg–Nash game, in which the Stackelberg game is used to capture the hierarchical decision-making process between utility company and end-users, while the Nash game is dedicated to describing the interdependence among end-users. Then the existence and uniqueness of the Stackelberg–Nash equilibrium is provided along with theoretical analysis. On the basis of the analysis of equilibrium, we propose a distributed iterative algorithm with an adaptive step size, which is benchmarked with a fixed step-size algorithm. One pathway to energy reduction is to examine situations where high-energy consumption occurs on roadways, e.g., speed volatility at work zones, or on sharp curves, which has been understudied. Harnessing second-by-second data from the naturalistic driving study and using the concept of driving volatility, this paper explores driving styles in work-zones and curves using machine learning approaches (k-medoids, hierarchical clustering) and drive-cycle simulations from Autonomie®. Results show that aggressive driving account for 12.2 % and 15.4 % of events that occurred in work zones and on curves and leads to 23 % increase in fuel consumption as opposed to normal driving. These results have implications for transportation agencies to improve work-zone configurations and provide signage or technology on curves to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. Demand-side management (DSM) is crucial to smart energy systems. This paper presents a data-driven approach for understanding the relationship between energy consumption patterns and household characteristics to better provide DSM services. The proposed method uses a robust learning fuzzy c-Means clustering algorithm to automatically generate the optimal number of customer groups for DSM, and then uses symmetric uncertainty techniques to identify the identified load patterns and socio-demographic characteristics as the features for training a deep learning model. The model obtained can be used to predict the possibility of DSM group membership for a given household. This approach can be applied even in situations where smart meter data are not available, such as when new customers are added to the system or when residents change, or due to privacy concerns. The proposed model is evaluated comprehensively, including prediction accuracy, comparison with other baselines, and case studies for DSM. The growing reliance on hydroelectric power and the risk of future droughts pose significant challenges for power systems, especially in developing countries. To address these challenges, comprehensive long-term energy planning is essential. This paper proposes an optimized electrical system for 2050, using Ecuador as a case study. For forecasting electricity demand, a Neuro-Fuzzy Adaptive Inference System is employed, utilizing real historical data. Subsequently, the EnergyPlan software constructs a long-term energy consumption model, exploring three scenarios based on Ecuador's energy potential. The first scenario represents a 'business as usual' approach, mirroring the current trend in the Ecuadorian electricity system. In contrast to the second scenario, it encompasses a broader range of renewable sources, including offshore wind, pumped storage, biomass, and geothermal energy. The third scenario extends the second one by incorporating demand response systems, such as vehicle-to-grid and hydrogen-to-grid technologies. In terms of novelty, this study highlights the innovative use of the Neuro-Fuzzy Adaptive Inference System for demand forecasting, along with a comprehensive exploration of multiple scenarios to optimize the electrical system. Research findings indicate that the integration of these new renewable energy sources not only reduces electricity import costs but also ensures surplus electricity production. Consequently, it is anticipated that the 2050 electricity system will reduce its dependence on hydroelectric energy while adopting photovoltaic and wind energy with penetration rates of 65 %, 11.2 %, and 9 %, respectively. This transition will be facilitated by a pumped storage system with a 28 % penetration rate and enhanced connectivity with neighboring countries, enabling the seamless integration of electric and hydrogen vehicles. This paper investigates the causal effect of COVID-19 quarantine measures on the electricity consumption of different types of regulated customers. In particular, the average energy consumption of a group of customers in Chile is examined, exploiting the weekly variations in the application of the stages of the Step by Step Plan as a natural experiment. Step by Step Plan was the Chile COVID containment strategy, which involved implementing partial lockdowns based on the COVID incidence in the municipalities, and adjusted on a weekly basis. An econometric model is specified, and estimated using the technique Difference-in-Difference-in-Difference (DDD) to quantify the causal impact of these measures. After applying the model, it is found that the quarantine measures have had a negative effect on the trend weekly consumption of customers located in municipalities where some of the phases of the Plan have been applied. This effect is significantly different depending on each stage of the plan analysis, and statistically significant. It is also observed that, on average, the savings for a representative customer in the sample range from $ 8 to $ 6. 15 for some municipalities, and the sample costs range from $ 0. 02 to $ 0. 26 for others, depending on the municipality analyzed. The results can be expressed in a total of 2.95 tons less CO 2 emitted on a monthly basis.
