Listening to music is a crucial tool for relieving stress and promoting relaxation. However, the limited options available for stress-relief music do not cater to individual preferences, compromising its effectiveness. Traditional methods of curating stress-relief music rely heavily on measuring biological responses, which is time-consuming, expensive, and requires specialized measurement devices. In this paper, a deep learning approach to solve this problem is introduced that explicitly uses convolutional neural networks and provides a more efficient and economical method for generating large datasets of stress-relief music. These datasets are composed of Mel-scaled spectrograms that include essential sound elements (such as frequency, amplitude, and waveform) that can be directly extracted from the music. The trained model demonstrated a test accuracy of 98.7%, and a clinical study indicated that the model-selected music was as effective as researcher-verified music in terms of stress-relieving capacity. This paper underlines the transformative potential of deep learning in addressing the challenge of limited music options for stress relief. A cement‐based material that meets the general goals of mechanical properties, workability, and durability as well as the ever‐increasing demands of environmental sustainability is produced by varying the type and quantity of individual constituents in high‐performance concrete (HPC) and ultrahigh‐performance concrete (UHPC). Expensive and time‐consuming laboratory experiments can be used to estimate the properties of concrete mixtures and elements. As an alternative, these attributes can be approximated by means of predictive models created through the application of artificial intelligence (AI) methodologies. AI approaches are among the most effective ways to solve engineering problems due to their capacity for pattern recognition and knowledge processing. Machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) are a subfield of AI that is gaining popularity across many scientific domains as a result of its many benefits over statistical and experimental models. These include, but are not limited to, better accuracy, faster performance, greater responsiveness in complex environments, and lower economic costs. In order to assess the critical features of the literature, a comprehensive review of ML and DL applications for HPC and UHPC was conducted in this study. This paper offers a thorough explanation of the fundamental terms and ideas of ML and DL algorithms that are frequently used to predict mechanical properties of HPC and UHPC. With the increasing applications of traffic scene image classification in intelligent transportation systems, there is a growing demand for improved accuracy and robustness in this classification task. However, due to weather conditions, time, lighting variations, and annotation costs, traditional deep learning methods still have limitations in extracting complex traffic scene features and achieving higher recognition accuracy. The previous classification methods for traffic scene images had gaps in multi-scale feature extraction and the combination of frequency domain, spatial, and channel attention. To address these issues, this paper proposes a multi-scale and multi-attention model based on Res2Net. Our proposed framework introduces an Adaptive Feature Refinement Pyramid Module (AFRPM) to enhance multi-scale feature extraction, thus improving the accuracy of traffic scene image classification. Additionally, we integrate frequency domain and spatial-channel attention mechanisms to develop recognition capabilities for complex backgrounds, objects of different scales, and local details in traffic scene images. The paper conducts the task of classifying traffic scene images using the Traffic-Net dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that our model achieves an accuracy of 96.88% on this dataset, which is an improvement of approximately 2% compared to the baseline Res2Net network. Cloud removal algorithm is a crucial step of remote sensing image preprocessing. The current mainstream remote sensing image cloud removal algorithms are implemented based on deep learning, and most of them are supervised. A large number of data pairs are required for training to achieve cloud removal. However, real with/without cloud image pairs datasets are difficult to obtain in the real world, and the models obtained by training on synthetic datasets often need to generalize better to natural scenes. And the existing unsupervised thin cloud removal methods based on Cycle‐GAN framework with considerable model complexity and unstable training are not an excellent solution to the problem of lack of paired datasets. Based on this, in this paper, the authors propose an unsupervised remote sensing image thin cloud removal method based on contrastive learning—GAN‐UD. It is a network consisting of a frequency‐spatial attention generator and a discriminator. In addition, the authors introduce local contrastive loss and global content loss to constrain the content of the generated images to ensure that the generated cloud‐free images are consistent with the input cloud images in terms of image content. Experimental results show that the proposed method in this paper can still effectively remove thin clouds from remote sensing images without paired training datasets, outperforms current unsupervised cloud removal methods, and achieves comparable performance to supervised methods. Accurate and comprehensive detection of pavement cracks is important for maintaining road quality and ensuring traffic safety. However, the complexity of road surfaces and the diversity of cracks make it difficult for existing methods to accomplish this challenging task. This paper proposes a novel network named the global graph multiscale network (GGMNet) for automated pixel-level detection of pavement cracks. The GGMNet network has several innovations compared with the mainstream road crack detection network: (1) a global contextual Res-block (GC-Resblock) is proposed to guide the network to emphasize the identities of cracks while suppressing background noises; (2) a graph pyramid pooling module (GPPM) is designed to aggregate the multi-scale features and capture the long-range dependencies of cracks; (3) a multi-scale features fusion module (MFF) is established to efficiently represent and deeply fuse multi-scale features. We carried out extensive experiments on three pavement crack datasets. These were DeepCrack dataset, with complex background noises; the CrackTree260 dataset, with various crack structures; and the Aerial Track Detection dataset, with a drone's perspective. The experimental results demonstrate that GGMNet has excellent performance, high accuracy, and strong robustness. Most of the deep-learning algorithms on stock price volatility prediction in the existing literature use data such as same-frequency market indicators or technical indicators, and less consider mixed-frequency data, such as macro-data. Compared with the traditional model that only inputs the same-frequency data such as technical indicators and market indicators, this study proposes an improved deep-learning model based on mixed-frequency big data. This paper first introduces the reserve restricted mixed-frequency data sampling (RR-MIDAS) model to deal with the mixed-frequency data and, secondly, extracts the temporal and spatial features of volatility series by using the parallel model of CNN-LSTM and LSTM, and finally utilizes the Optuna framework for hyper-parameter optimization to achieve volatility prediction. For the deep-learning model with mixed-frequency data, its RMSE, MAE, MSLE, MAPE, SMAPE, and QLIKE are reduced by 18.25%, 14.91%, 30.00%, 12.85%, 13.74%, and 23.42%, respectively. Deep learning, a crucial technique for achieving artificial intelligence (AI), has been successfully applied in many fields. The gradual application of the latest architectures of deep learning in the field of time series forecasting (TSF), such as Transformers, has shown excellent performance and results compared to traditional statistical methods. These applications are widely present in academia and in our daily lives, covering many areas including forecasting electricity consumption in power systems, meteorological rainfall, traffic flow, quantitative trading, risk control in finance, sales operations and price predictions for commercial companies, and pandemic prediction in the medical field. Deep learning-based TSF tasks stand out as one of the most valuable AI scenarios for research, playing an important role in explaining complex real-world phenomena. However, deep learning models still face challenges: they need to deal with the challenge of large-scale data in the information age, achieve longer forecasting ranges, reduce excessively high computational complexity, etc. Therefore, novel methods and more effective solutions are essential. In this paper, we review the latest developments in deep learning for TSF. We begin by introducing the recent development trends in the field of TSF and then propose a new taxonomy from the perspective of deep neural network models, comprehensively covering articles published over the past five years. We also organize commonly used experimental evaluation metrics and datasets. Finally, we point out current issues with the existing solutions and suggest promising future directions in the field of deep learning combined with TSF. Battery Management System (BMS) functions to monitor individual cell in a battery pack and its crucial task is to maintain stability throughout the battery pack. The BMS is responsible for maintaining the safety of the battery as well as not to harm the user or environment. The parameters that are to be monitored in a battery are Voltage, Current and Temperature. With the collected data, BMS carefully monitors the charging–discharging behavior of the battery particularly in the Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries in which charging and discharging behavior are completely different. This paper proposes a real-time IOT connected deep learning algorithm for estimation of State-of-Charge (SoC) of Li-ion batteries. This paper provides unique objectives and congruence between model-based conventional methods and state-of-the-art deep learning algorithm, specifically Feed Forward Neural Network (FNN) which is nonRecurrent. This paper also highlights the advantages of Internet-of-Things (IoT) connected deep learning algorithm for estimation of State-of-Charge of Li-ion batteries in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) and Electric Vehicles (EVs). The major advantage of the proposed method is that the Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based techniques aim to bring the estimation error less than 2% at a low cost and time without the model of the battery, at par with conventional method of Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) which is the best ever practical estimation theory. Point cloud registration is the process of aligning and merging multiple point clouds into a same coordinate system. It has many applications in computer vision, robotics, 3D reconstruction, augmented reality, and autonomous driving. Despite its wide-ranging utility, traditional algorithms grapple with challenges such as substantial noise, outliers, limited overlap, motion distortions, and handling large scenes. These complexities impede the effective deployment of point cloud registration in practical real-world scenarios. This paper conducts a comprehensive inquiry into the domain of deep learning-based point cloud registration. It synthesizes recent advancements in algorithms about point cloud registration grounded in deep learning. The exposition delineates insights from four distinct perspectives: multi-layer perceptron, deep neural network, graph convolutional network, and attention mechanism. Furthermore, the paper systematically reviews prevalent datasets and evaluation metrics associated with deep learning-based point cloud registration. In response to the numerous challenges faced by traditional human pose recognition methods in practical applications, such as dense targets, severe edge occlusion, limited application scenarios, complex backgrounds, and poor recognition accuracy when targets are occluded, this paper proposes a YOLO-Pose algorithm for human pose estimation. The specific improvements are divided into four parts. Firstly, in the Backbone section of the YOLO-Pose model, lightweight GhostNet modules are introduced to reduce the model's parameter count and computational requirements, making it suitable for deployment on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Secondly, the ACmix attention mechanism is integrated into the Neck section to improve detection speed during object judgment and localization. Furthermore, in the Head section, key points are optimized using coordinate attention mechanisms, significantly enhancing key point localization accuracy. Lastly, the paper improves the loss function and confidence function to enhance the model's robustness. Experimental results demonstrate that the improved model achieves a 95.58% improvement in mAP50 and a 69.54% improvement in mAP50-95 compared to the original model, with a reduction of 14.6 M parameters. The model achieves a detection speed of 19.9 ms per image, optimized by 30% and 39.5% compared to the original model. The presented paper introduces a novel path planning algorithm designed for generating low-cost trajectories that fulfill mission requirements expressed in Linear Temporal Logic (LTL). The proposed algorithm is particularly effective in environments where cost functions encompass the entire configuration space. A core contribution of this paper is the presentation of a refined approach to sampling-based path planning algorithms that aligns with the specified mission objectives. This enhancement is achieved through a multi-layered framework approach, enabling a simplified discrete abstraction without relying on mesh decomposition. This abstraction is especially beneficial in complex or high-dimensional environments where mesh decomposition is challenging. The discrete abstraction effectively guides the sampling process, influencing the selection of vertices for extension and target points for steering in each iteration. To further improve efficiency, the algorithm incorporates a deep learning-based extension, utilizing training data to accurately model the optimal trajectory distribution between two points. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through simulated tests, which highlight its ability to identify low-cost trajectories that meet specific mission criteria. In order to solve the problems of difficulty in obtaining paired data sets and poor quality of enhanced images in the process of low-light image enhancement, the implementation of unpaired low-light image enhancement was studied by improving the cycle generative adversarial network model. In the generator part, a U-NET model integrated with the Vision Transformer structure was used to replace the original generator model, so as to improve the cycle consistency and content retention of image transformation, and effectively deal with the problem of long-distance spatial correlation commonly existing in image research. In the discriminator part, PatchGAN was selected to replace the traditional discriminator according to the characteristics of image research to improve the discrimination ability of image details. At the same time, the identity consistency loss function was introduced to improve the image quality. The results show that compared with the traditional method, the improved model in this paper has better subjective visual effect, and also has a corresponding improvement in the objective evaluation index. De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. Medical image diagnosis using deep learning has shown significant promise in clinical medicine. However, it often encounters two major difficulties in real-world applications: (1) domain shift, which invalidates the trained model on new datasets, and (2) class imbalance problems leading to model biases towards majority classes. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a transfer learning solution, named Dynamic Weighting Translation Transfer Learning (DTTL), for imbalanced medical image classification. The approach is grounded in information and entropy theory and comprises three modules: Cross-domain Discriminability Adaptation (CDA), Dynamic Domain Translation (DDT), and Balanced Target Learning (BTL). CDA connects discriminative feature learning between source and target domains using a synthetic discriminability loss and a domain-invariant feature learning loss. The DDT unit develops a dynamic translation process for imbalanced classes between two domains, utilizing a confidence-based selection approach to select the most useful synthesized images to create a pseudo-labeled balanced target domain. Finally, the BTL unit performs supervised learning on the reassembled target set to obtain the final diagnostic model. This paper delves into maximizing the entropy of class distributions, while simultaneously minimizing the cross-entropy between the source and target domains to reduce domain discrepancies. By incorporating entropy concepts into our framework, our method not only significantly enhances medical image classification in practical settings but also innovates the application of entropy and information theory within deep learning and medical image processing realms. Simple Summary: In the sorting process of Chinese softshell turtles, it is necessary to classify them based on their weight and accurately identify their plastron and carapace. This process requires heavy manual labor and complex mechanical processing methods. To improve processing efficiency and reduce costs, this article introduces machine vision technology, and a new image processing method is proposed. This method can estimate the weight of Chinese softshell turtles and accurately locate the positions of their plastron and carapace. The automation level of aquaculture can be greatly enhanced, and hardware costs can be reduced through software optimization through this approach. With the rapid development of the turtle breeding industry in China, the demand for automated turtle sorting is increasing. The automatic sorting of Chinese softshell turtles mainly consists of three parts: visual recognition, weight prediction, and individual sorting. This paper focuses on two aspects, i.e., visual recognition and weight prediction, and a novel method for the object detection and weight prediction of Chinese softshell turtles is proposed. In the individual sorting process, computer vision technology is used to estimate the weight of Chinese softshell turtles and classify them by weight. For the visual recognition of the body parts of Chinese softshell turtles, a color space model is proposed in this paper to separate the turtles from the background effectively. By applying multiple linear regression analysis for modeling, the relationship between the weight and morphological parameters of Chinese softshell turtles is obtained, which can be used to estimate the weight of turtles well. An improved deep learning object detection network is used to extract the features of the plastron and carapace of the Chinese softshell turtles, achieving excellent detection results. Underwater acoustic (UWA) channel prediction technology, as an important topic in UWA communication, has played an important role in UWA adaptive communication network and underwater target perception. Although many significant advancements have been achieved in underwater acoustic channel prediction over the years, a comprehensive summary and introduction is still lacking. As the first comprehensive overview of UWA channel prediction, this paper introduces past works and algorithm implementation methods of channel prediction from the perspective of linear, kernel-based, and deep learning approaches. Importantly, based on available at-sea experiment datasets, this paper compares the performance of current primary UWA channel prediction algorithms under a unified system framework, providing researchers with a comprehensive and objective understanding of UWA channel prediction. Finally, it discusses the directions and challenges for future research. The survey finds that linear prediction algorithms are the most widely applied, and deep learning, as the most advanced type of algorithm, has moved this field into a new stage. The experimental results show that the linear algorithms have the lowest computational complexity, and when the training samples are sufficient, deep learning algorithms have the best prediction performance. In order to solve the problem of untimely monitoring of tool wear status during laser-ultrasonic compound cutting (LUCC), which leads to the reduction of process accuracy and product quality damage, a method of tool wear status monitoring based on acoustic emission (AE) and deep learning is proposed in this paper. The AE signal is collected and analyzed in the frequency and time-frequency domains by using Fourier transform (FT) and wavelet packet decomposition (WPD), it is found that the AE signal energy is mainly concentrated in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th frequency bands, and the energy of each frequency band in the signal increases gradually when the tool wear degree increases, however, the percentage of energy of each frequency band in the total energy shows different change trend. According to the amount of flank wear of the tool, the tool wear degree is divided into four tool wear states. The SVM model and BP neural network model were established based on MATLAB software to realize the tool wear state monitoring. The results show that the tool wear monitoring based on BP neural network is better than that of SVM for tool wear status monitoring. Background: Dementia is a cognitive decline that leads to the progressive deterioration of an individual's ability to perform daily activities independently. As a result, a considerable amount of time and resources are spent on caretaking. Early detection of dementia can significantly reduce the effort and resources needed for caretaking. Aims: This research proposes an approach for assessing cognitive decline by analysing speech data, specifically focusing on speech relevance as a crucial indicator for memory recall. Methods & Procedures: This is a cross‐sectional, online, self‐administered. The proposed method used deep learning architecture based on transformers, with BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) and Sentence‐Transformer to derive encoded representations of speech transcripts. These representations provide contextually descriptive information that is used to analyse the relevance of sentences in their respective contexts. The encoded information is then compared using cosine similarity metrics to measure the relevance of uttered sequences of sentences. The study uses the Pitt Corpus Dementia dataset for experimentation, which consists of speech data from individuals with and without dementia. The accuracy of the proposed multi‐QA‐MPNet (Multi‐Query Maximum Inner Product Search Pretraining) model is compared with other pretrained transformer models of Sentence‐Transformer. Outcomes & Results: The results show that the proposed approach outperforms the other models in capturing context level information, particularly semantic memory. Additionally, the study explores the suitability of different similarity measures to evaluate the relevance of uttered sequences of sentences. The experimentation reveals that cosine similarity is the most appropriate measure for this task. Conclusions & Implications: This finding has significant implications for the early warning signs of dementia, as it suggests that cosine similarity metrics can effectively capture the semantic relevance of spoken language. The persistent cognitive decline over time acts as one of the indicators for prevalence of dementia. Additionally early dementia could be recognised by analysis on other modalities like speech and brain images. Background: CT reconstruction is of essential importance in medical imaging. In 2022, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) sponsored a Grand Challenge to investigate the challenging inverse problem of spectral CT reconstruction, with the aim of achieving the most accurate reconstruction results. The authors of this paper participated in the challenge and won as a runner‐up team. Purpose: This paper reports details of our PROSPECT algorithm (Prior‐based Restricted‐variable Optimization for SPEctral CT) and follow‐up studies regarding the algorithm's accuracy and enhancement of its convergence speed. Methods: We formulated the reconstruction task as an optimization problem. PROSPECT employed a one‐step backward iterative scheme to solve this optimization problem by allowing estimation of and correction for the difference between the actual polychromatic projection model and the monochromatic model used in the optimization problem. PROSPECT incorporated various forms of prior information derived by analyzing training data provided by the Grand Challenge to reduce the number of unknown variables. We investigated the impact of projection data precision on the resulting solution accuracy and improved convergence speed of the PROSPECT algorithm by incorporating a beam‐hardening correction (BHC) step in the iterative process. We also studied the algorithm's performance under noisy projection data. Results: Prior knowledge allowed a reduction of the number of unknown variables by 85.9%$85.9\%$. PROSPECT algorithm achieved the average root of mean square error (RMSE) of 3.3×10−6$3.3\,\times \,10^{-6}$ in the test data set provided by the Grand Challenge. Performing the reconstruction with the same algorithm but using double‐precision projection data reduced RMSE to 1.2×10−11$1.2\,\times \,10^{-11}$. Including the BHC step in the PROSPECT algorithm accelerated the iteration process with a 40% reduction in computation time. With the development of artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning is widely used in various industries. At CRYPTO 2019, researchers used deep learning to analyze the block cipher for the first time and constructed a differential neural network distinguisher to meet a certain accuracy. In this paper, a mixture differential neural network distinguisher using ResNet is proposed to further improve the accuracy by exploring the mixture differential properties. Experiments are conducted on SIMON32/64, and the accuracy of the 8-round mixture differential neural network distinguisher is improved from 74.7% to 92.3%, compared with that of the previous differential neural network distinguisher. The prediction accuracy of the differential neural network distinguisher is susceptible to the choice of the specified input differentials, whereas the mixture differential neural network distinguisher is less affected by the input difference and has greater robustness. Furthermore, by combining the probabilistic expansion of rounds and the neutral bit, the obtained mixture differential neural network distinguisher is extended to 11 rounds, which can realize the 12-round actual key recovery attack on SIMON32/64. With an appropriate increase in the time complexity and data complexity, the key recovery accuracy of the mixture differential neural network distinguisher can be improved to 55% as compared to 52% of the differential neural network distinguisher. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a popular neurological disorder affecting a critical part of the world's population. This review describes the contribution of image processing, feature extraction, optimization, and classification approach in AD recognition. Wireless link scheduling in device-to-device (D2D) networks is an NP-hard problem. As a solution, multiple supervised deep learning (DL) models have been recently proposed, which depend on the geographical information of D2D pairs. However, such DL models require labeled training data. In this paper, we focus on unsupervised learning of scheduling. More specifically, this paper proposes using a Density-Based anti-Clustering for Scheduling D2D Communications (DBSCHedule). The proposed algorithm is a two-step approach that consists of clustering and anti-clustering. First, clustering aims at identifying the non-interfering groups of D2D pairs. Then, anti-clustering aims at identifying the maximally separated sub-groups to minimize the interference. The clustering step uses a fully-automated unsupervised density-based spectral-clustering of applications with noise (DBSCAN) and the anti-clustering uses the inverse of the objective function of the k-means clustering. Results show comparable performance with the optimal FPLinQ scheduler yet without requiring any channel information nor is there a requirement to solve a complex optimization problem. Moreover, a comparable performance to the previous attempts using DL and modified clustering is achieved while being completely adaptive and easily accommodating to changes in the network layout. Due to budget and sensor technology constraints, a single sensor cannot simultaneously provide observational images with both a high spatial and temporal resolution. To solve the above problem, the spatiotemporal fusion (STF) method was proposed and proved to be an indispensable tool for monitoring land surface dynamics. There are relatively few systematic reviews of the STF method. Bibliometrics is a valuable method for analyzing the scientific literature, but it has not yet been applied to the comprehensive analysis of the STF method. Therefore, in this paper, we use bibliometrics and scientific mapping to analyze the 2967 citation data from the Web of Science from 1991 to 2023 in a metrological manner, covering the themes of STF, data fusion, multi-temporal analysis, and spatial analysis. The results of the literature analysis reveal that the number of articles displays a slow to rapid increase during the study period, but decreases significantly in 2023. Research institutions in China (1059 papers) and the United States (432 papers) are the top two contributors in the field. The keywords "Sentinel", "deep learning" (DL), and "LSTM" (Long Short-Term Memory) appeared most frequently in the past three years. A deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique is proposed in this paper to ensure accurate autonomous localization of mobile robots in environments with dynamic objects. Addressing the limitations of real-time performance in deep learning algorithms and the poor robustness of pure visual geometry algorithms, this paper presents a deep learning-based Visual Inertial SLAM technique. Firstly, a non-blocking model is designed to extract semantic information from images. Then, a motion probability hierarchy model is proposed to obtain prior motion probabilities of feature points. For image frames without semantic information, a motion probability propagation model is designed to determine the prior motion probabilities of feature points. Furthermore, considering that the output of inertial measurements is unaffected by dynamic objects, this paper integrates inertial measurement information to improve the estimation accuracy of feature point motion probabilities. An adaptive threshold-based motion probability estimation method is proposed, and finally, the positioning accuracy is enhanced by eliminating feature points with excessively high motion probabilities. Accurately assessing the state of health (SOH) of lithium batteries is of great significance for improving battery safety performance. However, the current assessment for SOH suffers from the difficulty of selecting health features and the lack of uncertainty using data-driven methods. To this end, this paper proposes a health state assessment method for lithium-ion batteries based on health feature extraction and an improved Informer model. First, multiple features that can reflect the SOH of lithium-ion batteries were extracted from the charging and discharging time, the peak value of incremental capacity curve (ICC), and the inflection point value of differential voltage curve, etc., and the correlation between multiple health features and the health state was evaluated by gray correlation analysis. Then, an improved Informer model is proposed to establish a health state estimation method for lithium-ion batteries. Finally, the proposed algorithm is tested and validated using publicly available battery charge/discharge datasets and compared with other algorithms. The results show that the method in this paper can realize high-precision SOH prediction with a root-mean-square error (RMSE) of 0.011, and the model fit reaches more than 98%. Many complex engineering systems can be represented in a topological form, such as graphs. This paper utilizes a machine learning technique called Geometric Deep Learning (GDL) to aid designers with challenging, graph-centric design problems. The strategy presented here is to take the graph data and apply GDL to seek the best realizable performing solution effectively and efficiently with lower computational costs. This case study used here is the synthesis of analog electrical circuits that attempt to match a specific frequency response within a particular frequency range. Previous studies utilized an enumeration technique to generate 43,249 unique undirected graphs presenting valid potential circuits. Unfortunately, determining the sizing and performance of many circuits can be too expensive. To reduce computational costs with a quantified trade-off in accuracy, the fraction of the circuit graphs and their performance are used as input data to a classification-focused GDL model. Then, the GDL model can be used to predict the remainder cheaply, thus, aiding decision-makers in the search for the best graph solutions. The results discussed in this paper show that additional graph-based features are useful, favorable total set classification accuracy of 80% in using only 10% of the graphs, and iteratively built GDL models can further subdivide the graphs into targeted groups with medians significantly closer to the best and containing 88.2 of the top 100 best-performing graphs on average using 25% of the graphs. Incorporating style-related objectives into shape design has been centrally important to maximize product appeal. However, algorithmic style capture and reuse have not fully benefited from automated data-driven methodologies due to the challenging nature of design describability. This paper proposes an AI-driven method to fully automate the discovery of brand-related features. First, to tackle the scarcity of vectorized product images, this research proposes two data acquisition workflows: parametric modeling from small curve-based datasets, and vectorization from large pixel-based datasets. Second, this study constructs BIGNet, a two-tier Brand Identification Graph Neural Network, to learn from both scalar vector graphics' curve-level and chunk-level parameters. In the first case study, BIGNet not only classifies phone brands but also captures brand-related features across multiple scales, such as lens' location, as confirmed by AI evaluation. In the second study, this paper showcases the generalizability of BIGNet learning from a vectorized car image dataset and validates the consistency and robustness of its predictions given four scenarios. The results match the difference commonly observed in luxury versus economy brands in the automobile market. Finally, this paper also visualizes the activation maps generated from a convolutional neural network and shows BIGNet's advantage of being a more explainable style-capturing agent. The fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) records changes in the graph of fetal cardiac action potential during conduction, reflecting the developmental status of the fetus in utero and its physiological cardiac activity. Morphological alterations in the FECG can indicate intrauterine hypoxia, fetal distress, and neonatal asphyxia early on, enhancing maternal and fetal safety through prompt clinical intervention, thereby reducing neonatal morbidity and mortality. To reconstruct FECG signals with clear morphological information, this paper proposes a novel deep learning model, CBLS-CycleGAN. The model's generator combines spatial features extracted by the CNN with temporal features extracted by the BiLSTM network, thus ensuring that the reconstructed signals possess combined features with spatial and temporal dependencies. The model's discriminator utilizes PatchGAN, employing small segments of the signal as discriminative inputs to concentrate the training process on capturing signal details. Evaluating the model using two real FECG signal databases, namely "Abdominal and Direct Fetal ECG Database" and "Fetal Electrocardiograms, Direct and Abdominal with Reference Heartbeat Annotations", resulted in a mean MSE and MAE of 0.019 and 0.006, respectively. It detects the FQRS compound wave with a sensitivity, positive predictive value, and F1 of 99.51%, 99.57%, and 99.54%, respectively. This paper investigates a method for precise mapping of human arm movements using sEMG signals. A multi-channel approach captures the sEMG signals, which, combined with the accurately calculated joint angles from an Inertial Measurement Unit, allows for action recognition and mapping through deep learning algorithms. Firstly, signal acquisition and processing were carried out, which involved acquiring data from various movements (hand gestures, single-degree-of-freedom joint movements, and continuous joint actions) and sensor placement. Then, interference signals were filtered out through filters, and the signals were preprocessed using normalization and moving averages to obtain sEMG signals with obvious features. Additionally, this paper constructs a hybrid network model, combining Convolutional Neural Networks and Artificial Neural Networks, and employs a multi-feature fusion algorithm to enhance the accuracy of gesture recognition. Furthermore, a nonlinear fitting between sEMG signals and joint angles was established based on a backpropagation neural network, incorporating momentum term and adaptive learning rate adjustments. Finally, based on the gesture recognition and joint angle prediction model, prosthetic arm control experiments were conducted, achieving highly accurate arm movement prediction and execution. Gesture recognition based on wearable sensors has received extensive attention in recent years. This paper proposes a gesture recognition model (CGR_ATT) based on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) fused attention mechanism to improve accuracy rate of wearable sensors. First, CNN serves as a feature extractor, learning features automatically from sensor data by performing multiple layers of convolution and pooling operations, capturing spatial features of gestures. Furthermore, a temporal modeling unit GRU is introduced to capture the temporal dynamics in gesture sequences. By controlling the information flow through gate mechanisms, it effectively handles the temporal relationships in sensor data. Finally, an attention mechanism is introduced to assign different weights to the hidden state of the GRU. By calculating the attention weights for each time period, the model automatically selects key time periods related to gesture movements. The GR-dataset proposed in this paper involves 910 sets of training parameters. The model achieves an ultimate accuracy of 97.57% . Accurate atom mapping, which establishes correspondences between atoms in reactants and products, is a crucial step in analyzing chemical reactions. In this paper, we present a novel end-to-end approach that formulates the atom mapping problem as a deep graph matching task. Our proposed model, AMNet (Atom Matching Network), utilizes molecular graph representations and employs various atom and bond features using graph neural networks to capture the intricate structural characteristics of molecules, ensuring precise atom correspondence predictions. Notably, AMNet incorporates the consideration of molecule symmetry, enhancing accuracy while simultaneously reducing computational complexity. The integration of the Weisfeiler-Lehman isomorphism test for symmetry identification refines the model's predictions. Furthermore, our model maps the entire atom set in a chemical reaction, offering a comprehensive approach beyond focusing solely on the main molecules in reactions. We evaluated AMNet's performance on a subset of USPTO reaction datasets, addressing various tasks, including assessing the impact of molecular symmetry identification, understanding the influence of feature selection on AMNet performance, and comparing its performance with the state-of-the-art method. The result reveals an average accuracy of 97.3% on mapped atoms, with 99.7% of reactions correctly mapped when the correct mapped atom is within the top 10 predicted atoms. 3D printed ceramic parts often have defects due to their inherent brittleness. These defects are of various scale sizes. Detecting these defects, especially with multiple sizes, is a challenging task in the field of detection. Furthermore, there is a lack of surface defect real-time detection systems suitable for industrial applications in this field. Based on this, this paper makes two contributions: the design and development of a real-time defect detection system, and the proposal of a multiscale defect detection method for 3D printed ceramic surfaces within this system. Firstly, the paper establishes the overall structure of the real-time detection system for surface defects on 3D printed ceramic components, and describes the hardware and software components of the system. On this basis, a dataset of ceramic surface defect images is collected and constructed. Then, experimental analyses point out the shortcomings of the You Only Look Once version-5 (YOLOv5) model for multiscale defect detection. To address the shortcomings, the YOLOv5 model is optimized from three aspects, resulting in the Deep separable convolution + residual network-SKNetwork-Efficient Channel Attention Network-YOLOv5 (DepRes-SK-ECA-YOLOv5) model for multiscale defect detection. This model improves the ability to extract and fuse features of defects at different scales. The experimental results show that the DepRes-SK-ECA-YOLOv5 model can achieve 93.5 %, 91.6 %, 94.3 %, and 0.198 s for Precision, Recall, mAP, and Speed for the test set, respectively. IoT devices convert billions of objects into data-generating entities, enabling them to report status and interact with their surroundings. This data comes in various formats, like structured, semi-structured, or unstructured. In addition, it can be collected in batches or in real time. The problem now is how to benefit from all of this data gathered by sensing and monitoring changes like temperature, light, and position. In this paper, we propose a predictive analytics framework constructed on top of open-source technologies such as Apache Spark and Kafka. The framework focuses on forecasting temperature time series data using traditional and deep learning predictive analytics methods. The analysis and prediction tasks were performed using Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA), Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and a novel hybrid model based on Convolution Neural Network (CNN) and LSTM. The purpose of this paper is to determine whether and how recently developed deep learning-based models outperform traditional algorithms in the prediction of time series data. The empirical studies conducted and reported in this paper demonstrate that deep learning-based models, specifically LSTM and CNN-LSTM, exhibit superior performance compared to traditional-based algorithms, ARIMA and SARIMA. More specifically, the average reduction in error rates obtained by LSTM and CNN-LSTM models were substantial when compared to other models indicating the superiority of deep learning. Cardiac tissue engineering (CTE) holds promise in addressing the clinical challenges posed by cardiovascular disease, the leading global cause of mortality. Human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) are pivotal for cardiac regeneration therapy, offering an immunocompatible, high density cell source. However, hiPSC-derived cardiomyocytes (hiPSC-CMs) exhibit vital functional deficiencies that are not yet well understood, hindering their clinical deployment. We argue that machine learning (ML) can overcome these challenges, by improving the phenotyping and functionality of these cells via robust mathematical models and predictions. This review paper explores the transformative role of ML in advancing CTE, presenting a primer on relevant ML algorithms. We focus on how ML has recently addressed six key address six key challenges in CTE: cell differentiation, morphology, calcium handling and cell-cell coupling, contraction, and tissue assembly. The paper surveys common ML models, from tree-based and probabilistic to neural networks and deep learning, illustrating their applications to better understand hiPSC-CM behavior. While acknowledging the challenges associated with integrating ML, such as limited biomedical datasets, computational costs of learning data, and model interpretability and reliability, we examine suggestions for improvement, emphasizing the necessity for more extensive and diverse datasets that incorporate temporal and imaging data, augmented by synthetic generative models. By integrating ML with mathematical models and existing expert knowledge, we foresee a fruitful collaboration that unites innovative data-driven models with biophysics-informed models, effectively closing the gaps within CTE. Extracting balanced geostrophic motions (BM) from sea surface height (SSH) observations obtained by wide‐swath altimetry holds great significance in enhancing our understanding of oceanic dynamic processes at submesoscale wavelength. However, SSH observations derived from wide‐swath altimetry are characterized by high spatial resolution while relatively low temporal resolution, thereby posing challenges to extract the BM from a single SSH snapshot. To address this issue, this paper proposes a deep learning model called the BM‐UBM Network, which takes an instantaneous SSH snapshot as input and outputs the projection corresponding to the BM. Training experiments are conducted both in the Gulf Stream and South China Sea, and three metrics are considered to diagnose model's outputs. The favorable results highlight the potential capability of the BM‐UBM Network to process SSH measurements obtained by wide‐swath altimetry. Deep learning (DL) has been frequently applied in the image reconstruction of electromagnetic tomography (EMT) in recent years. It offers the potential to achieve higher-quality image reconstruction. Among these, research on samples is relatively scarce. Samples are the cornerstone for both large and small models, which is easy to ignore. In this paper, a deep learning electromagnetic tomography (DL-EMT) model with nine elements is established. Complete simulation and experimental samples are obtained based on this model. On the sample sets, the reconstruction quality is observed by adjusting the size and configuration of the training set. The Mann–Whitney U test shows that beyond a certain point, the addition of more samples to the training data fed into the deep learning network does not result in an obvious improvement statistically in the quality of the reconstructed images. This paper proposes a CC-building method for optimizing a sample set. This method is based on the Pearson correlation coefficient calculation, aiming to establish a more effective sample base for DL-EMT image reconstruction. In the field of structural health monitoring, vibration-based damage identification remains a formidable challenge. Key to this challenge is the establishment of a reliable association between observed vibration characteristics and the actual state of structural damage (e.g. stiffness reduction). This association not only accurately indicates the presence of damage, but also the location and severity of the damage. To solve this complex pattern identification problem, a large number of approaches, including deep learning, have emerged in recent years. In this paper, we propose a new structural damage identification method that utilizes the vibration information of the structure and a convolutional neural network based on Alex NET improvement. The method consists of calculating the acceleration response power spectral density of damaged and undamaged structures under impact loading separately, and then making a difference between the two power spectral data, and subsequently introducing these power spectral difference data into the convolutional neural network for training. The use of power spectral density analysis as a preprocessing step converts the time-domain signals into frequency-domain signals, and this conversion allows the convolutional neural network to capture and learn from the specific frequency characteristics of the data, thus facilitating the learning process of the neural network model. In this paper, the effectiveness of the method is critically evaluated through numerical simulation and experimental validation, and 3% and 5% noise are added to the numerical study to test the robustness of the method. During the convolution neural network training process, the optimal training mean squared error (MSE) is 5 × 10−6 in the case of no noise addition; the optimal training MSE is 1.3 × 10−5 in the case of noise addition. With a significant number of mechanical products approaching the retirement phase, the batch recycling of discarded mechanical parts necessitates a preliminary assessment of their surface condition. However, the presence of surface rust poses a challenge to defect identification. Therefore, this paper proposes a method for detecting heavily rusted surface defects based on an improved YOLOv8n network. In the Backbone, the C2f-DBB module of re-parameterized deep feature extraction was introduced, and the attention module was designed to improve the accuracy of information extraction. In the Neck part, a Bi-Afpn multiscale feature fusion strategy is designed to facilitate information exchange between features at different scales. Finally, Focal-CIoU is employed as the bounding box loss function to enhance the network's localization performance and accuracy for defects. With the development of image processing technology and video analysis technology, forest fire monitoring technology based on video recognition is more and more important in the field of forest fire prevention and control. The objects currently applied to forest fire video image monitoring system monitoring are mainly flames and smoke. This paper proposes a forest fire risk monitoring and early warning algorithm, which integrates a deep learning model, infrared monitoring and early warning, and forest fire weather index. The algorithm first obtains the current visible image and infrared image of the same forest area, utilizing a smoke detection model based on deep learning to detect smoke in the visible image, and obtains the confidence level of the occurrence of fire in said visible image. Then, it determines whether the local temperature value of said infrared image exceeds a preset warning value, and obtains a judgment result based on the infrared image. It calculates again a current FWI based on environmental data, and determines a current fire danger level based on the current FWI. Finally, it determines whether or not to carry out a fire warning based on said fire danger level, said confidence level of the occurrence of fire in said visible image, and said judgment result based on the infrared image. The experimental results show that the accuracy of the algorithm in this paper reaches 94.12%, precision is 96.1%, recall is 93.67, and F1-score is 94.87. The algorithm in this paper can improve the accuracy of smoke identification at the early stage of forest fire danger occurrence, especially by excluding the interference caused by clouds, fog, dust, and so on, thus improving the fire danger warning accuracy. This paper presents a novel approach to improving the detection of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) through the use of super-resolved structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and optimized deep learning models. The study introduces enhancements to the perceptual quality of super-resolved 2D structural MRI images using advanced loss functions, modifications to the upscaler part of the generator, and experiments with various discriminators within a generative adversarial training setting. It empirically demonstrates the effectiveness of super-resolution in the MCI detection task, showcasing performance improvements across different state-of-the-art classification models. The increasing availability of hydrological and physiographic spatiotemporal data has boosted machine learning's role in rapid flood mapping. Yet, data scarcity, especially high-resolution DEMs, challenges regions with limited access. This paper examines how DEM type and resolution affect flood prediction accuracy, utilizing a cutting-edge deep learning (DL) method called 1D convolutional neural network (CNN). It utilizes synthetic hydrographs as training input and water depth data obtained from LISFLOOD-FP, a 2D hydrodynamic model, as target data. This study investigates digital surface models (DSMs) and digital terrain models (DTMs) derived from a 1 m LIDAR-based DTM, with resolutions from 15 to 30 m. The methodology is applied and assessed in a established benchmark, city of Carlisle, UK. The models' performance is then evaluated and compared against an observed flood event using RMSE, Bias, and Fit indices. Leveraging the insights gained from this region, the paper discusses the applicability of the methodology to address the challenges encountered in a data-scarce flood-prone region, exemplified by Pakistan. Results indicated that utilizing a 30 m DTM outperformed a 30 m DSM in terms of flood depth prediction accuracy by about 21% during the flood peak stage, highlighting the superior performance of DTM at lower resolutions. Increasing the resolution of DTM to 15 m resulted in a minimum 50% increase in RMSE and a 20% increase in fit index across all flood stages. The findings emphasize that while a coarser resolution DEM may impact the accuracy of machine learning models, it remains a viable option for rapid flood prediction. Deep learning models have a high application value in runoff forecasting, but their prediction mechanism is difficult to interpret and their computational cost is high when dealing with complex hydrological relationships, limiting their feasibility in hydrological process mechanism analysis. To address these concerns, the paper first introduces an attention mechanism (AM) for building a long short-term memory network (LSTM) model with AM in the hidden layer (AM-LSTM). The AM-LSTM model employs attention layers to improve information extraction from hidden layers, resulting in a more accurate representation of the relationships between runoff-related elements. Furthermore, in the hidden layers of the AM-LSTM model, interpretable spatiotemporal attention units are established, which not only improves the model's prediction accuracy but also provides interpretability to the forecasting process. Furthermore, parallelization techniques are used in the paper to address the issue of model runtime cost. Simultaneously, to address the accuracy degradation caused by parallelization, the paper employs wavelet denoising (WD) techniques and builds the WD-AM-LSTM model. This accomplishment enables the runoff forecasting model to predict runoff in real time and with high accuracy. Based on validation using ten-day runoff data from the Huanren Reservoir in the Hun River's middle reaches, the results show that, with two layers and an eight-batch size, the AM-LSTM model outperforms the LSTM model in capturing spatiotemporal runoff features. During the model testing phase, the AM-LSTM model improves the MAE, RMSE, and NSE performance metrics by 8.46%, 13%, and 3.82%, respectively. The WD-AM-LSTM model effectively mitigates the noise impact caused by data parallelization under the conditions of two layers and a batch size of 512, achieving the same level of prediction performance while reducing computational cost by 92.01%. By incorporating attention mechanisms and wavelet denoising techniques, this study obtains high-speed and accurate predictions with interpretable results. The appetite of fish significantly influences aquaculture efficiency and fish welfare. However, accurately assessing fish appetite has posed a challenging problem. Currently, the study of fish feeding behaviour relies primarily on the overall information obtained from images of fish schools, often overlooking the distinctive behavioural traits of individual fish. Analysing the behaviour of individual fish is hindered by challenges such as intraclass variation and cross-occlusion within real aquaculture environments. To address these challenges, this paper introduces a novel method for assessing appetite based on individual fish behaviour. The ByteTrack model was improved to enable stable tracking of each fish within a school under complex conditions. Additionally, this paper employs the spatiotemporal graph convolutional neural network (ST-GCN) to extract the movement characteristics of individual fish, facilitating accurate appetite assessment. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves 98.47% accuracy in appetite assessment, surpassing the performance of other state-of-the-art methods. Breast cancer still poses a serious threat to world health, needing creative approaches to early identification in order to improve patient outcomes. This study investigates the potential of deep learning methods to improve the precision and effectiveness of mammography interpretation for the identification of breast cancer. In this paper proposed, a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture, ResNet50, is created and trained on a sizable data set of annotated mammograms. The CNN is made to automatically identify and extract pertinent elements, such as microcalcifications, masses, and architectural distortions, that may be symptomatic of possible cancers. The model develops the ability to distinguish between benign and malignant instances through an iterative process of training and validation, finally displaying a high level of discriminatory accuracy. The paper findings show that the deep learning model outperforms conventional mammography interpretations in terms of sensitivity and specificity for detecting breast cancer. Furthermore, the model's potential for use in actual clinical settings is highlighted by its generalizability across a range of patient demographics and imaging technologies. This study represents a big step in improving radiologists' capacity for breast cancer early detection. Understanding how outdoor environments affect mental health outcomes is vital in today's fast-paced and urbanized society. Recently, advancements in data-gathering technologies and deep learning have facilitated the study of the relationship between the outdoor environment and human perception. In a systematic review, we investigate how deep learning techniques can shed light on a better understanding of the influence of outdoor environments on human perceptions and emotions, with an emphasis on mental health outcomes. We have systematically reviewed 40 articles published in SCOPUS and the Web of Science databases which were the published papers between 2016 and 2023. The study presents and utilizes a novel topic modeling method to identify coherent keywords. By extracting the top words of each research topic, and identifying the current topics, we indicate that current studies are classified into three areas. The first topic was "Urban Perception and Environmental Factors" where the studies aimed to evaluate perceptions and mental health outcomes. Within this topic, the studies were divided based on human emotions, mood, stress, and urban features impacts. The second topic was titled "Data Analysis and Urban Imagery in Modeling" which focused on refining deep learning techniques, data collection methods, and participants' variability to understand human perceptions more accurately. The last topic was named "Greenery and visual exposure in urban spaces" which focused on the impact of the amount and the exposure of green features on mental health and perceptions. Upon reviewing the papers, this study provides a guide for subsequent research to enhance the view of using deep learning techniques to understand how urban environments influence mental health. Traffic sign detection technology plays an important role in driver assistance systems and automated driving systems. This paper proposes DeployEase-YOLO, a real-time high-precision detection scheme based on an adaptive scaling channel pruning strategy, to facilitate the deployment of detectors on edge devices. More specifically, based on the characteristics of small traffic signs and complex background, this paper first of all adds a small target detection layer to the basic architecture of YOLOv5 in order to improve the detection accuracy of small traffic signs.Then, when capturing specific scenes with large fields of view, higher resolution and richer pixel information are preserved instead of directly scaling the image size. Finally, the network structure is pruned and compressed using an adaptive scaling channel pruning strategy, and the pruned network is subjected to a secondary sparse pruning operation. The number of parameters and computations is greatly reduced without increasing the depth of the network structure or the influence of the input image size, thus compressing the model to the minimum within the compressible range. Experimental results show that the model trained by Experimental results show that the model trained by DeployEase-YOLO achieves higher accuracy and a smaller size on TT100k, a challenging traffic sign detection dataset. Compared to existing methods, DeployEase-YOLO achieves an average accuracy of 93.3%, representing a 1.3% improvement over the state-of-the-art YOLOv7 network, while reducing the number of parameters and computations to 41.69% and 59.98% of the original, respectively, with a compressed volume of 53.22% of the previous one. This proves that the DeployEase-YOLO has a great deal of potential for use in the area of small traffic sign detection. The algorithm outperforms existing methods in terms of accuracy and speed, and has the advantage of a compressed network structure that facilitates deployment of the model on resource-limited devices.
