The article provides information on a study which demonstrated rapid transport of molecular H2O through nanometer-sized voids ordered within the layers of crystalline carbon nitride with a polytriazine imide structure by combining neutron spectroscopy and first-principles calculations. Topics discussed include synthesis and characterization of intercalant-free (IF-)-polytriazine imide (PTI) and PTI-H2O, and quasi-elastic neutron scattering (QENS) analysis of water dynamics in PTI-H2O.
