The article compares the Nordic and Canadian approaches to child welfare services. The authors find that only about two-four percent of Canadian children from poor and racialized families receive child welfare services and the country's constitution indicates that these services are the provincial and territorial governments' responsibility. They also discover that the Nordic countries focus on the development of a child's individuality and social equality.
