Background: Infectious disease outbreaks affect physical and mental health of humans worldwide. Studies showed that the prevalence of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms increased in these conditions. This systematic-review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the prevalence of PTSD related symptoms in coronavirus outbreaks.Methods: Systematic search of literature was conducted in Scopus, Embase, PubMed, and Web of Science. Google Scholar and Grey literature including conference proceedings were also checked. Published articles from November 1, 2012 until May 18, 2020 were searched. Subgroup analysis, meta-regression and sensitivity analysis were also conducted to assess heterogeneity.Results: We found 38 articles with 19,428 individuals met the eligibility criteria. Of these papers, 35 studies were included in meta-analysis. The prevalence of PTSD symptoms was estimated to be about 18% (95%CI: 15% to 20%). These symptoms were more frequent in cohort studies (29%) compared to cross-sectional (15%) and case-control (11%) studies. Prevalence rates of PTSD symptoms in MERS (36%) outbreaks were higher than SARS (18%) and COVID-19 (9%) outbreaks. Meta-regression showed that the geographical location of study was the source of heterogeneity (R2: 19.8%, P-value: 0.003). Meta-analysis reported that about three in every ten survivors of coronavirus infection, about two in every ten healthcare workers, and about one in every ten individuals of general population experienced PTSD symptoms in outbreaks.Limitations: PTSD cannot be objectively assessed and this can lead to information bias of included studies.Conclusion: PTSD symptoms are shown to be common in coronavirus outbreaks. The spread of Covid-19 profoundly changed citizens' daily lives due to the introduction of new modes of work and access to services based on smart technologies. Although the relevance of new technologies as strategic levers for crisis resolution has been widely debated before the pandemic, especially in the smart cities' context, how individuals have agreed to include the technological changes dictated by the pandemic in their daily interactions remains an open question. This paper aims at detecting citizens' sentiment toward technology before and after the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic using Fuzzy Formal Concept Analysis (FFCA) to analyze a large corpus of tweets. Specifically, citizens' attitudes in five cities (Berlin, Dublin, London, Milan, and Madrid) were explored to extract and classify the key topics related to the degree of confidence, familiarity and approval of new technologies. The results shed light on the complex technology acceptance process and help managers identify the potential negative effects of smart technologies. In this way, the study enhances scholars' and practitioners' understanding of the strategies for enabling the use of technology within smart cities to manage the transformations introduced by the health emergency and guide citizens' behaviour. • The paper explores citizen sentiment towards the adoption of technologies to challenge Covid-19 in five international cities. • The tweet analysis identifies the topics associated with technology anxiety before and after the emergence of Covid-19. • Fuzzy Formal Concept Analysis permits to identify the critical factors in Tweeters' use of technology. • Comparing technology anxiety before and after the pandemic reveals useful insights on citizen behaviour. • A framework with the determinants that influence the acceptance of the technological changes imposed by Covid-19 is built. Notre premier cas illustre la possibilité de nos patients de relativiser la gravité de la pandémie et de son impact et le deuxième cas soutient cette hypothèse. Les modalités de traitement psychotrope sont très importantes dans des cas spécifiques de pathologie et cela peut apporter des éléments nouveaux dans le domaine psychiatrique et dans le domaine immunitaire au sujet de la protection antibiothérapique pré- et postopératoire. Rencontre improbable avec une maladie qui conduit à un épisode de folie et la prise en charge psychologique après un épisode sévère de Covid-19. L'accompagnement psychologique est bouleversé par cette maladie, comme le reste. La clinique revient à son sens d'origine : au lit du malade pour comprendre cette nouvelle maladie et ses effets protecteurs et/ou révélateurs. Rencontre à la fois avec une forme grave de cette nouvelle maladie et l'expression psychopathologique au sein des unités des soins intensifs et de postréanimation. L'écoute singulière et psychanalytique permet au patient de comprendre le processus de construction de son épisode d'apparence délirant, comme la construction onirique. Adaptation et création d'une clinique nécessitant d'être au plus proche du malade pour permettre la restructuration psychique ayant été désorganisée en lien avec la maladie mais également avec l'environnement hospitalier et familial, fortement impactés par l'angoisse. In real life of our hospital activity is not at all true because in both clinical situations the symptomatology of infectious disease was protected about a long psychotic or pseudo psychotic episode. The most important for the psychiatric stabilization was strictly observance and repetition of consultations who created a secure feel, necessarily for construction after psychodramatic real story Covid-19. Our clinical case shows the possibility of our patients to relativize the gravity of the pandemic and his impact. The modalities of psychotropic treatment are very important in this specific pathologic case and our presentation could give us new ideas in psychiatry and immunology about protection by ay antibiotherapy in pre- and post-operatory. This paper examines how the COVID-19 pandemic associates with Twitch users' emotion, using natural language processing (NLP) as a method. Two comparable sets of text data were collected from Twitch internet relay chats (IRCs): one after the outbreak of the pandemic and another one before that. Positive emotion, negative emotion, and attitude to social interaction were tested by comparing the two text sets via a dictionary-based NLP program. Particularly regarding negative emotion, three negative emotions—anger, anxiety, and sadness—were measured given the nature of the pandemic. The results show that users' anger and anxiety significantly increased after the outbreak of the pandemic, while changes in sadness and positive emotion were not statistically significant. In terms of attitude to social interaction, users used significantly fewer "social" words after the outbreak of the pandemic than before. These findings were interpreted considering the nature of Twitch as a unique live mixed media platform, and how the COVID-19 pandemic is different from previous crisis events was discussed based on prior literature. • During the COVID-19 pandemic, Twitch users feel more anger and anxiety than before. • During the COVID-19 pandemic, Twitch users employ fewer social words than before. • Crisis events generally make people integrate, but the COVID-19 pandemic does not. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a great deal of anxiety for many individuals. Several papers have noted that individuals with OCD may be particularly negatively impacted by COVID-19, and that the threat of COVID-19 may impact treatment (Banerjee, 2020; Jassi et al., 2020; Sheu et al., 2020). The study presented herein examined OCD-related and COVID-related intrusions in a non-patient sample. Individuals with elevated OCD symptoms reported having both OCD and COVID intrusions at a similar frequency. Further, OCD symptom severity was significantly correlated with the frequency of COVID related intrusions and the amount of distress they caused. However, distress from COVID related intrusions was not significantly correlated with OCD symptom severity. These results shed light on the similarities between reactions to objectively elevated threat and the perceptions of elevated threat experienced in OCD. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
