The paper presents a prototype setup for detecting and tracking transmission line faults using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. This system automatically detects, analyzes and classifies the transmission line faults, while also tracking the location of fault. The setup uses a combination of ESP32, display, potential transformers, current transformers and GSM module to sense, process and transmit data. The instrument transformers accurately sense data and send to ESP32. Comparing with reference value, it analyzes fault and sends information via GSM module to a designated number and server. The paper makes a comparison of patch antennas and dipole antennas, two of the most common forms used in wireless communication. Patch antennas are distinguished by their low profile, ease of production and integration with microwave electronics, as opposed to dipole antennas, which have become known for their simplicity, omnidirectional emission patterns and broad application. The discussion begins with an explanation of the basic concepts, design considerations and operational characteristics of patch and dipole antennas. The key performance criteria including bandwidth, gain, radiation efficiency, polarization and impedance matching are assessed using theoretical considerations and actual applications. Case studies from modern wireless applications, such as mobile communication, Wi-Fi networks and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, are used to demonstrate the strengths and limits of each antenna type in real-world circumstances. The paper develops a novel smart property recommendation system that takes into account crucial parameters of a particular area like pollution level (air and water quality index, and noise), crime rate, crowd cover, average traffic congestion level, proximity to markets, hospitals, schools and transport, happiness index, cleanliness, greenery and site rating, and updates these real-time data continuously through Internet of Things (IoT) devices and artificial intelligence (AI) models to the cloud database. The present state of hospitals in Nigeria at large is worrisome. Normally, patients go to the hospital and fill out registration forms and face long queue before meeting a medical doctor for consultation. Patient registration system in most healthcare facilities is carried out using the traditional paper and pen which are kept in files assigned to patient's name. Also, the number of missed appointments in healthcare institutions in Nigeria causes more health challenges; hence the need for an Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare system to provide adequate and seamless care to patients. Therefore, the paper develops a prototype Radio Frequency Identification (RFID)-based Short Message Service (SMS) system for prompt medical response. The programming language used in creating the system was Python version 3.7.0 with SQLite as the database. An SMS alert system was integrated into the system to remind patients of their appointments with the doctors at the hospital within a specified time and day through the mobile phone numbers provided during registration. A delivery report is received by the system administrator and the message is delivered almost immediately to the patient's mobile phone number. The results of the prototype are demonstrated. Weather predictions have conventionally been performed using complex models with satellite data and readings from weather stations. In recent times, modern technology has replaced these conventional techniques. However, obtaining accurate and precise weather predictions continues to remain extremely challenging. The paper proposes an architecture to enable weather forecasting using a combination of two modern technologies - Machine Learning (ML) and Internet of Things (IoT). By making use of the concept of crowd sensing and Collaborative Internet of Things (C-IoT), the paper proposes how a large amount of useful information can be collected and then processed using ML algorithms to arrive at meaningful results that aid in weather prediction. Monitoring and controlling humidity are very important in different settings. Previous studies have used many Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for prediction. In this paper, we have used Internet of Things (IoT) for collecting and sending the data to the server. For predicting the temperature and humidity, ML is used. DHT 11 (Digital Humidity and Temperature) sensor is used to measure temperature and humidity, while to view this sensor data, Thingspeak IoT server is used. To send this sensor data from time to time, ESP8266 NodeMCU is used, which acts as both microcontroller and wifi module. Agriculture is an important sector for developing countries like India. However, the development of agricultural production has been hindered by certain issues related to the use of traditional systems. In the past, much research has been carried out to modernize the agricultural system. However, there is a need for low-cost and easy-to-use technological solutions to the poor farmers of the country. Hence, the paper aims at making the existing agricultural system smart by using IoT. A compact, lightweight and integrated system has been developed comprising multi-sensors to measure all the parameters and continuously monitor the soil content, weather conditions, temperature and humidity. All parameters are real-time monitored over the Internet of Things (IoT), thereby making it remotely accessible from anywhere with the help of an android application. Benefits of IoT in the supply chain network operations related to food supplies and various supply chain processes are compared with other information technologies. Electric power consumption theft is one of the main challenges facing utility companies in developing countries like Nigeria. As such, power companies cannot make adequate profit from the electricity they generate and distribute. The infrastructure needed for effective operations is very costly. IoT has made virtual network between the human and the physical world easier and has drastically changed the way business works. The paper aims at developing an embedded system that helps in reducing electric meter tampering using the IoT technology. The system has an energy meter (meter box) which communicates through Arduino microcontroller unit and fetches the data from energy meter and sends the data through the internet to the server. It also has the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system to identify staff on duty. At the backend, the company staff can see the status of the energy meter and then track the customer committing meter tampering. It also includes details about the e-receipts and e-payments concerning Government's transactions and brings forward the issues involved therein. As retail payment channels like Internet banking, mobile banking and digital wallets have begun taking shape in the last few years, and RBI being the regulator/overseer has set out certain norms that need to be adhered to, a survey was conducted to identify the factors considered as most important in the adoption of e-banking services from the citizens' perspective. IoT devices have security holes that make it easier for fraudsters to take control of them and use them as part of botnets to launch DDoS assaults. Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is a new technology in the Internet of Things (IoT). It is broadly used in intelligent transport system. VANET provides V2V communication and V2R communication in real time. Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is used for road safety, information service and traffic efficiency. Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) protocol and Greedy Perimeter Coordinate Routing (GPCR) protocol are proposed. However, transmission of emergency data packets can be risky since Packet Delivery Ratio (PDR) is not guaranteed as GPCR link connectivity is not considered; hence, they are not suitable for emergency data transmission. The algorithms Destination Sequenced Distance Vector (DSDV) and Ad-hoc On-demand Distance Vector (AODV) are proposed to resolve problems like end-to-end delay, average PDR, and routing overhead. The primary goal of this research is to search for relevance in social knowledge with respect to the role played by social information in economic modeling. Social information is derived from social processes. We attempt to explore how social concepts and principles find applications in science of economics and how they could be used more efficiently to model the behavior of economic agents. In attempting to do so, we try to elucidate what social knowledge is and what constitutes the body of social information per se. With the growing importance of digital knowledge and information in the society, our analysis sheds light on the role played by social elements in economic theory and modeling that furnishes important data and information about various social processes which can no longer be ignored, despite the preponderance of scientific and technical knowledge in the society. We review, from the point of view of Kenneth Arrow's perception of social knowledge, how knowledge of social processes could be employed more efficiently in economic modeling in dealing with practical economic problems that have much relevance to economic processes. This research takes an aim at that direction by elucidating the concept of social knowledge in its present context--the digital age--with the aim of advancing knowledge in this field.
