Simple Summary: In recent years, the shortage of cow stocks and the reduction of cow breeders in China have caused a shortage of cattle resources and a high price of calves, which has become a bottleneck restricting the further development of China's beef cattle industry. At present, there are few studies on the decision-making behavior of cow breeding in China. In order to explore the factors that affect the decision-making behavior on cow breeding by beef cattle farmers, this paper uses field survey data to make an empirical analysis through the Logit ISM model. The results show that the age of the breeder, the breeding year, the planting area of forage, market expectations, the loan amount, the breeding method policy publicity and policy subsidies are significant factors affecting the decision-making behavior of beef cattle farmers on cow breeding. The beef cattle industry is an important part of herbivorous animal husbandry and an important industry to enrich the dietary structure of residents and promote the income of farmers and herdsmen. The cow is an important foundation to support the healthy development of the beef cattle industry, which is related to the stability of cattle sources and the sustainable development of the industry. However, in recent years, the shortage of cows in our country has led to the shortage of cattle resources and the high price of calves, which has restricted the further development of our beef cattle industry. In order to explore the factors that affect the decision-making behavior behind cow breeding and to find the right policy to mobilize the enthusiasm for cow breeding, based on the field survey of five provinces (cities and regions), including Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, this paper conducts an empirical analysis through the Logit ISM model. The results show that market expectation is the surface factor that directly affects the decision-making behavior of cow breeding. The influencing factors of the middle layer are policy propaganda, policy subsidies, breeding years, and feeding methods. The deep root factors are the age of the breeder, the amount of loan, and whether to plant feed crops. Based on this, this paper proposes that we should actively promote the importance of cow breeding, strengthen policy support for cow breeding, formulate scientific and reasonable subsidy policies for cows, innovate financial support methods to solve the problem of fund shortage of farmers, and develop forage resources and reduce the breeding cost of cows. Wind erosion is a key global environmental problem. As an important protective measure to provide services to the ecosystems in wind-eroded areas, the wind erosion prevention service is of great significance to the management of wind and sand hazards and ecological environment restoration in the wind-eroded areas and the neighboring areas. Taking the Shiyang River basin as the study area, the quality of supplies for wind erosion prevention services was estimated using the RWEQ model for the years 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2020; the trajectories of air masses at wind speeds higher than the sand-causing wind speeds were simulated based on the forward trajectory module of the HYSPLIT model for a 24 h period; the spatial simulation of the flow of wind erosion prevention services on a daily scale with Minqin Station as the sand source was carried out; and the beneficiary areas of wind erosion prevention services were identified. Based on the RWEQ model, the spatial patterns of potential wind erosion, actual wind erosion, and wind and sand stabilization services were obtained, and the supply areas were divided. From 2005 to 2020, the wind erosion prevention service flow in the Shiyang River basin was distributed along a northwest–southeast direction, with a radial decrease from the center to the periphery, and with an extremely strong extraterritorial effect. The amount of wind erosion in the basin has a variable downward tendency over time and a spatial distribution pattern of high in the north and low in the south. The area of higher sand fixation is distributed in the eastern oasis area and desert junction zone. The HYSPLIT model was used to simulate the transport paths of wind and sand within 24 h during 2005–2020, the transmission paths of the wind erosion prevention service flow were obtained to be 59–134, and the flows were 2.55 × 104–3.85 × 106 t, displaying a changing trend of first decreasing, then increasing, and then decreasing. Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region are the most important areas benefiting from the wind erosion prevention service flow in the Shiyang River basin. The urgency of enhancing agricultural productivity within the Yellow River Basin cannot be overstated, given its critical role in ensuring food security amidst the challenges posed by climate change, natural disasters, and the increasing demand for food crops. Utilizing panel data from nine provinces within the Yellow River Basin for the period 2001 to 2020, this study examines the temporal characteristics and spatial distribution of Total Factor Productivity (TFP) for key grain crops—namely wheat, corn, and soybean—through the application of the Malmquist index which can be decomposed through the DEA-Malmquist index methodology. The empirical results demonstrate that TFP growth rates for these crops have exhibited significant phase variations, with soybean recording the highest TFP growth rate in the basin. Additionally, this study underscores marked regional disparities in soybean productivity. TFP decomposition reveals that the primary drivers of TFP improvement across these crops are attributed to technical progress, with gains in overall technical efficiency largely due to scale efficiency enhancements, whereas pure technical efficiency has shown limited progress. Regional analysis indicates that Inner Mongolia leads in TFP growth for all crops, while Ningxia, Sichuan, and Shaanxi lag behind in wheat, corn, and soybean. Additionally, our analysis delineates natural disasters as a significant barrier to Total Factor Productivity (TFP), notably obstructing technological advancements in wheat cultivation. The investigation further reveals a positive relationship between regional per capita income and the growth of wheat TFP, in contrast to a negative relationship with the TFP growth of corn and soybeans. Moreover, investing in agriculture, forestry, water management, and road infrastructure supports the growth of wheat TFP, while urbanization levels pose constraints. Conclusively, an uptick in annual rural electricity usage, along with improved per capita postal and telecommunication services, exerts a favorable influence on TFP for corn and soybeans. Exploring the spatial structure of intangible cultural heritage (ICH) and constructing heritage corridors are conducive to the adaptive reuse of heritage and the improvement of the surviving environment, which is of great significance to the living inheritance of ICH. Guided by the concept of the heritage corridor, this study took the ICH along the Ming Great Wall as the research object. Kernel density estimation and a standard deviation ellipse analysis were used to explore the spatial structure and then combined with a suitability analysis of heritage corridors to further explore the spatial locations of corridors. A multifactor spatial superposition was carried out with the minimal cumulative resistance (MCR) method. The resistance factors, including land use type, elevation, slope, road system, river system, and the heritage corridors, were constructed. The results show that: (1) ICH along the Ming Great Wall forms a spatial pattern of "three cores and one belt". The high-density core areas exist in Beijing and Liaoning, and the secondary core areas exist in northern Ningxia and southwestern Inner Mongolia. This results from the joint action of the natural, economic, and social environment. (2) On the whole, all kinds of ICH are distributed from southwest to northeast, among which folk art is particularly obvious. (3) The distribution trend of suitability is "high in the east and low in the west". The high-suitability areas are mainly concentrated in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Liaoning regions, while the low-suitability areas are concentrated in Gansu, Ningxia, and northern Inner Mongolia. Accurate ice segmentation is one of the most crucial techniques for intelligent ice monitoring. Compared with ice segmentation, it can provide more information for ice situation analysis, change trend prediction, and so on. Therefore, the study of ice segmentation has important practical significance. In this study, we focused on fine-grained river ice segmentation using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) images. This has the following difficulties: (1) The scale of river ice varies greatly in different images and even in the same image; (2) the same kind of river ice differs greatly in color, shape, texture, size, and so on; and (3) the appearances of different kinds of river ice sometimes appear similar due to the complex formation and change procedure. Therefore, to perform this study, the NWPU_YRCC2 dataset was built, in which all UAV images were collected in the Ningxia–Inner Mongolia reach of the Yellow River. Then, a novel semantic segmentation method based on deep convolution neural network, named ICENETv2, is proposed. To achieve multiscale accurate prediction, we design a multilevel features fusion framework, in which multi-scale high-level semantic features and lower-level finer features are effectively fused. Additionally, a dual attention module is adopted to highlight distinguishable characteristics, and a learnable up-sampling strategy is further used to improve the segmentation accuracy of the details. Experiments show that ICENETv2 achieves the state-of-the-art on the NWPU_YRCC2 dataset. Finally, our ICENETv2 is also applied to solve a realistic problem, calculating drift ice cover density, which is one of the most important factors to predict the freeze-up data of the river. Dam operation has been widely deployed to mitigate the risks of ice jam flooding, but it may result in a decrease in the discharging capacities of downstream river channels. The Ningxia-Inner Mongolia reach of the Huanghe River (Yellow River) has historically suffered numerous disasters caused by ice jam flooding, and three large dams have been jointly operated to mitigate such risks since 1968. Whilst the resultant significant increases in both the annual runoff and mean water temperature during the ice jam flooding seasons helped to shorten the freezing-up duration and reduce the thickness of the ice cover, a significant channel shrinkage occurred in the reach when the dam operation took place under the input of a relatively larger amount of sediment from the upstream. In the new flow regime that commenced in 2008, a detailed examination of the river channel-form adjustments and the resultant changes to the discharging capacities identified a slight increase in the discharging capacity of the channel along the entire study reach. This was mainly due to a significantly smaller amount of sediment load being carried by a slightly increased annual runoff. Whilst it was demonstrated that the dam operation was still an effective means for mitigating the risk of ice jam flooding in the Ningxia-Inner Mongolia reach under the new flow regime, care needs to be taken when the favorable flow-sediment condition changes. Furthermore, the effectiveness of the dam operation appeared to vary significantly at the channel sections of different planforms; thus, more detailed studies are required. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
