Agriculture represents the “cause” and the “victim” of climate change. Almost 30 percent of greenhouse gas emissions come from the agricultural sector. They contribute to global warming and therefore significantly affect the sustainability of agricultural production systems. The aim of the paper is to determine which factors have the greatest influence on the greenhouse gas emission from agriculture. For this purpose, a dynamic panel analysis for 26 members of the European Union in the period from 2013 to 2021 in the paper is conducted. The results of the analysis suggest that the capacity for biofuel production, organic agricultural production and greenhouse gas emissions from the previous period have the greatest impact on the same emissions from agriculture. The results of this research can serve policy makers in formulating strategies for the development of food systems that will pollute the environment to a lesser extent and use available resources more rationally.

This paper investigates in the foreground the state of agricultural systems in interdependence with climate change, a condition synec vanon of decarbonization of agriculture. The relationship between ecologically responsible agricultural systems places the innovative design of agricultural processes as the first factor in achieving the success of environmental responsibilities in addressing any agricultural processes customized to the area through the symbiosis between production in order to protect the biosphere. Thus, the constraints of reducing the consumption of chemical fertilizers in agriculture have gained new value at the same time as the interest of producers to gradually comply with the new more sustainable environmental requirements by optimizing synergies in the vision of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The paper also identifies the risks of degradation of natural resources as an effect of environmental change, such as phosphorus, a much-needed element in agriculture, a declining global resource. From the empirical analysis of the analyzed sources we followed on the basis of statistical data a calibration of the risk trends generated by the impact of the adaptability of agriculture to environmental requirements, in achieving an agriculture designed for sustainability.

The key challenge for individuals, businesses and governments would be the building financial and insurance resilience in changing climate. It becomes important issue for the financial management to create financial protection and insurance means to manage the financial losses, reducing the economic impact of disaster events, and supporting better recovery. In accordance with that the Paper provides an overview of the field and desk research of potential income implications of climate change for the financial management of disaster risks and losses. Desk research is based on Serbian case and its experience with the 2014 floods. Key findings of the field research provided in Serbia in 2016 on managing the risk of natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes as a part of organizational risk in 92 manufacturing firms, banks and insurance companies is also provided in the Paper. The methods used are: statistical description, X2 test and liner regression models. The results of both researches on risk management of floods showed that: companies calculate the impact of this risk to their year revenues as small, also a non-strategic approach of the Serbian government can be seen, as a financial gap of 65% in covering the losses. The research results pointed also to low awareness of the problem on the corporate and national level. The contribution of the Paper is to support further development of country and local plans for more effectively reducing the economic disruption of disaster events and policy approaches to supporting the penetration of disaster finance and insurance coverage and the capacity of insurance markets to absorb these risks. Also, to support the improvement of the culture of risk management of business sector in this field.

This paper is based on the results of an empirical study conducted on a sample of 103 employees of the Croatian Agricultural and Forestry Advisory Service in mid2018. The main goal of the study was to determine the opinions and attitudes of agricultural advisors on climate change. Attitudes were measured using 16 statements which summarize three composite indicators (awareness of anthropogenic causes and consequences, mitigation responsibility, and indifference and defeatism towards climate change). Results of the research show that the respondents are relatively aware of the anthropogenic impact on climate change, as well as wider consequences of climate change on society and the environment (MKIs = 3.83). On average, respondents expressed strongest agreement with statements about political and civic responsibility in climate change mitigation (MKIo = 4.06). Most agricultural advisors perceive climate change as dangerous for the stability of domestic farming, and as many as 92.4% of respondents believe that farmers do not have the necessary knowledge to successfully deal with the risks of climate change in their own production.

Due to the unpredictability of climate changes and increased risk, the possibility of withdrawing insurance against natural disasters has been considered. From the construction industry, it is required to adapt to changes, by building less polluting buildings, resistant to destructive effects of climate changes. The insurance industry has recognized the direct connection between green - sustainable practices and reduced risk, which in recent years has been the reason, for becoming a leader in creating, energy and resource efficiency. The contribution of this paper is in the demonstration how innovative construction solution can contribute to sustainable insurance and reducing the consequences of climate change.

Climate change in the form of global warming is visible, tangible, measurable and is one of the most significant risks facing the world. During the conceptualization as the objective of the paper, we have determined the analysis of the impact of climate change on agricultural production and the ways of reduction of negative impacts. The most important results of the present work are the analysis of the implications of climate change on agricultural production and food security, adaptation possibilities of agriculture and the role of agriculture insurance. The main conclusions are that climate change negatively affects agricultural production and food security, especially in subtropical areas while there is limited potential for a positive impact of climate change in the northern hemisphere. There are two possible choices for agricultural producers, under the implications of climate change, that are not necessarily mutually exclusive: 1) finding a long term sustainable solution based on the adaptation and 2) obtaining insurance coverage.
