COMMUNICATION , *TEACHING , *TEACHERS , *COLLEGE students , *STUDENTS - Abstract
The light shed by theories dealing with this issue and the related pedagogical approaches inform this paper, which is intended as a look to the teaching of the communication theories in different communication colleges in Bogotá. It is clear that in any teaching-learning process the student is a fundamental actor; however, the research deals with the tension between two subjects in the process: teachers and programs of communication theories. PHYSICAL fitness , *MOTIVATION (Psychology) , *HAPPINESS , *COMMUNICATION , *INTRINSIC motivation , *PHYSICAL activity - Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to test the predictive power of the channels of communication used by fitness monitor, the intrinsic motivation and the enjoyment of the activity, in the commitment of fitness. 287 gym fitness were involved in the study to which were analyzed the degree of perceived communication and the communicational barriers with the monitor, the intrinsic motivation, the enjoyment and the level of sport commitment. The result of linear regression analysis showed that the use of channels of communication verbal, no-verbal and the avoidance of communication barriers, as well as high levels of intrinsic motivation and enjoyment during the practice, predicted a future commitment of the participants. In this way, the use of effective communication strategies by the fitness monitor during the interaction with practitioners would increase the motivation of individuals allowing a greater adherence to practice. In the last decade there have been several debates about the relevance of online news comments. While some question the hate speech that is verified in these spaces, others highlight the possibility of exchanging opinions. This paper proposes a methodological tool to measure the quality of online news comments, using a sample of 300 comments on highly visible websites in Portugal (Público; Sapo), Spain (El País; 20 Minutos) and Brazil (UOL; Folha S. Paulo). The results determine that commentators tend to use a little personal argumentation (82.3%), although relevant to the discussion in question (60.3%), with few grammatical errors (14.7%) or aggressive interventions (31.7%). This paper presents an analysis of the role of communication in transfomative tourism, beyond the scope of tourism marketing and organizational communication, based on the results of qualitative research into communicative processes in three transformative tourist experiences offered in Bogota D.C. The primary focus of the analysis remains on the intercultural communication perspective and the transformative tourism typology by describing the interactions between visitors and locals using, as research instrument, in-depth interviews with key actors involved in the tourist operation. It reveals some relevant lessons in the current construction of a new society due to the emergence of COVID-19, such as the almost therapeutic potential of physical co-presence encounters to broaden the levels of empathy between human beings and encourage the discovery of higher purposes. This paper presents a new theoretical framework for analyzing linguistic power relations and it examines the linguistic effects of what Anibal Quijano has called coloniality of power. The coloniality of language refers to a process of racialization of colonized people as communicating agents (ie, as potential interlocutors) that begins with the conquest of America and nowadays. The research focuses on the dehumanization of the colonized and enslaved populations, and the concomitant contempt of their languages and social ways of making sense, interpreted as expressions of his inferior nature'. The results are an original contribution to the debate on the historical relationship between colonialism, race, ethnicity, and language in America. The argument suggests that there is a connection between the reduction of the colonized and racialized populations to a status of non-humans, as well as a monolingual linguistic ideology that hides colonial oppression dialogically and discursively.
