Dye treatments in industrial wastewaters causes numerous obstacles while stains exist normally constant to radiance as well as corrosion and thus, aerobic digestion. The removal of Congo red dye in low concentration from acidic aqueous solution is the main objective of present work. Synthesis of Acrylamide (AM), Diallyl Dimethyl Ammonium Chloride Propylene (DADMAC) and Acryloyloxyethyltrimethyl ammonium chloride (DAC) (PADD) were carried by UV-initiated polymerization, and polyacrylamide (PAM) as contrast sample. Several analytical techniques existed employed to characterization and demonstrate the productive synthesize of PADD, characteristics and composition of the flocculants was studied through FTIR, 1HNMR while thermal stability of PADD in addition PAM was studied by TGA. In addition, the strong structure of surface morphology was confirmed by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM). Established effective process was used to evaluate the flocculation behaviour with special characteristics. Measuring the parameters, dosage of flocculants, flocculation time, temperature, flocculants initial concentration of Congo red dye, stirring speed and zeta potential in removal of Congo red efficiently in acid aqueous environment. These factors presented that in the condition of strong acidity, low concentration and charge neutralization, the adsorption and bridging effect of PADD on Congo red dye was dominant. Under the idyllic conditions concentration of dye 3.0 mg L−1 and pH 6.0, the maximum removal rates of Congo red dye have been 96.45% and 81.10%, PADD and PAM, respectively. In this study, a novel amphiphilic flocculant TP-ADL was synthesized using acrylamide, methacryloxyethyltrimethyl ammonium chloride and lauryl acrylate as monomers through UV-light-initiating template copolymerization technology. Copolymerization conditions were optimized towards higher intrinsic viscosity and conversion rate. The Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) analysis confirms the functional groups composition in TP-ADL, and the thermogravimetric (TGA) analysis indicates its good thermal stability. Furthermore, the detailed 1H NMR and TGA analysis confirms the microblock structure in polymer chain. The amphiphilic rheological characteristics of copolymer were detected according to apparent viscosity. TP-ADL displayed superior flocculation efficiency towards oily wastewater in terms of oil and turbidity removal rate, and zeta potential. The median floc size (d50) and fractal dimension (Df) results indicate a large and compact floc structure. The synergistic effect between cationic microblock structure and inter-molecular hydrophobic association is the main reason for the better treatment efficiency. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Birnessite MnO-decorated hollow dandelion-like CuO architectures are synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method in which tetraoctylammonium bromide is used as surfactant. X-ray diffraction spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy are applied to investigate the structure and morphology of the as-synthesized dandelion-like CuO hollow sphere and CuO/MnO core-shell nanostructures. Furthermore, the electrochemical properties of CuO/MnO core-shell structures electrodes are elucidated by cyclic voltammograms, galvanostatic charge/discharge tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in 1 M NaSO electrolyte. The result shows specific capacitance of 228 F g and a long-term cycling stability which retains 82.2 % of its initial capacitance even after 5000 cycles. Such a facile strategy to fabricate the hierarchical CuO/MnO core-shell structures with significantly improved functionalities opens up a novel avenue to design electrode materials on demand for high-performance supercapacitor applications.
