A strategy was devised for the synthesis of SAPO-34, which involved a concentrated gel system-assisted two-step crystallization method. This strategy effectively controlled the size and morphology of SAPO-34. The successful synthesis of SAPO-34 crystals with micron-scale cubic morphology and nano-scale sheets were achieved using triethylamine as a low-cost template. The paper thoroughly examined the growth evolution that occurs during the crystallization process, and it delved into the factors such as gel concentration and crystallization conditions in the synthesis. Furthermore, potential theories regarding nucleation and growth mechanisms were suggested. A systematic study was conducted to examine how the morphology and acidity of SAPO-34 zeolites impact their catalytic performance. The results confirmed that the SAPO-34 with low silicon content and lamellar structure was successfully synthesized through a two-step crystallization within a gel system of H2O/Al2O3 = 30, with a thickness of approximately 50–300 nm. A recent article in the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging discusses the development of a macrocyclic peptide PET radioligand for PD-L1, a protein involved in immune checkpoint mechanisms. The article highlights the challenges and opportunities in individualizing treatment for patients who could benefit from anti-PD-1/PD-L1 therapy and monitoring their response during therapy. The authors present a study on the discovery and evaluation of a novel fluorine-18 labeled macrocyclic peptide-based PET ligand, [18F]BMS-986229, which demonstrated high affinity for PD-L1 and rapid clearance from non-PD-L1 tissues. This article discusses the use of radiomics, a method that involves extracting imaging features from radiologic images, to predict lymph node metastasis (LNM) in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. The study found that radiomics analysis using 2-[18F]FDG PET-based imaging was more effective in predicting LNM compared to traditional CT and PET reports. The study also highlighted the need for standardization in radiomics workflow and the development of automated segmentation tools. Purpose: Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has a poor prognosis due to the absence of effective therapeutic targets. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family are expressed in 30–60% of TNBC, therefore providing potential therapeutic targets for TNBC. Aflibercept (Abe), a humanized recombinant fusion protein specifically bound to VEGF-A, B and placental growth factor (PIGF), has proven to be effective in the treatment in some cancers. Therefore, 89Zr/177Lu-labeled Abe was investigated for its theranostic role in TNBC. Methods: Abe was radiolabeled with 89Zr and 177Lu via the conjugation of chelators. Flow cytometry and cell immunofluorescent staining were performed to evaluate the binding affinity of Abe. Sequential PET imaging and fluorescent imaging were conducted in TNBC tumor bearing mice following the injection of 89Zr-labeled Abe and Cy5.5-labeled Abe. Treatment study was performed after the administration of 177Lu-labeled Abe. Tumor volume and survival were monitored and SPECT imaging and biodistribution studies were conducted. Safety evaluation was performed including body weight, blood cell measurement, and hematoxylin–eosin (H&E) staining of major organs. Expression of VEGF and CD31 was tested by immunohistochemical staining. Dosimetry was estimated using the OLINDA software. Results: FITC-labeled Abe showed a strong binding affinity to VEGF in TNBC 4T1 cells and HUVECs by flow cytometry and cell immunofluorescence. Tumor uptake of 89Zr-labeled Abe peaked at 120 h (SUVmax = 3.2 ± 0.64) and persisted before 168 h (SUVmax = 2.54 ± 0.42). The fluorescence intensity of the Cy5.5-labeled Abe group surpassed that of the Cy5.5-labeled IgG group, implying that Cy5.5-labeled Abe is a viable candidate monitoring in vivo tumor targeting and localization. 177Lu-labeled Abe (11.1 MBq) served well as the therapeutic component to suppress tumor growth with standardized tumor volume at 16 days, significantly smaller than PBS group (about 815.66 ± 3.58% vs 3646.52 ± 11.10%, n = 5, P < 0.01). Moreover, SPECT images confirmed high contrast between tumors and normal organs, indicating selective tumor uptake of 177Lu-labeled Abe. No discernible abnormalities in blood cells, and no evident histopathological abnormality observed in liver, spleen, and kidney. Immunohistochemical staining showed that 177Lu-labeled Abe effectively inhibited the expression of VEGF and CD31 of tumor, suggesting that angiogenesis may be suppressed by 177Lu-labeled Abe. The whole-body effective dose for an adult human was estimated to be 0.16 mSv/MBq. Conclusion: 89Zr/177Lu-labeled Abe could be a TNBC-specific marker with diagnostic value and provide insights into targeted therapy in the treatment of TNBC. Different types of urban construction land are different in terms of driving factors for their expansion. Most existing studies on driving forces for urban construction land expansion have considered the construction urban land as a whole and have not examined and compared the differentiated driving forces for different types of construction land expansion. This study explored the differentiated driving mechanisms for two types of urban construction land expansion by selecting key driving factors and using spatial econometric regression and geographical detector models. The results show that there are significant differences in the driving forces for expansion between the two types of urban construction land. The driving factors of urban land expansion do not necessarily affect industrial parks. And the factors acting on expansion of both types are different in influence degree. For urban expansion, economic density growth, the value-added growth of tertiary industries, and proximity to urban centers have a negative effect. However, urbanization levels and value-added growth of secondary industries have a positive effect. The explanatory power of these factors is arranged in the following descending order: value-added growth of tertiary industries, value-added change of secondary industries, urban population growth, economic density growth, and proximity to urban centers; road network density has no significant effect. For industrial parks expansion, the value-added growth of secondary industries and road network density has a positive effect, while economic density growth has a negative effect. The explanatory power is arranged in the following descending order: value-added growth of secondary industries, road network density, and economic density growth. Interlayer sliding modulation in van der Waals (vdW) layered materials opens opportunities to seek tunable applications for photonics and optoelectronics at the nanoscale. In this work, focusing on ternary chalcogenides, dozens of typical vdW layered materials with the formula of A2MZ4 (A, M = metal cation; Z = S/Se) were systematically classified and studied to illustrate the interlayer sliding modulation performance on nonlinear optical (NLO) effect and underlying mechanism. Based on first-principles analysis, the screened Cd2GeSe4 exhibits large second harmonic generation (SHG) deviation (>36 times between high- and low-SHG states) under sliding among all studied materials. This phenomenon arises from the polarization modulation induced by the vdW interlayer charge redistribution of two tetrahedral primitives in the ternary edge-sharing tetrahedral structures. Our findings present a strategy to substantially modulate NLO properties by altering the interlayer charge coupling which is commonly thought to be very weak in vdW layered materials. Background: Chylothorax is a condition that can be challenging to diagnose due to its nonspecific clinical presentation. Several biochemical parameters of chylous pleural effusion have been identified as important indicators for the diagnosis of chylothorax. Lymphoscintigraphy is utilized to assess chylothorax and determine the location of chyle leakage. The present study aimed to evaluate the correlation between the biochemical parameters of chylous pleural effusion and 99mTc-dextran (99mTc-DX) lymphoscintigraphy in diagnosing chylothorax. Material and methods: A total of 120 patients were enrolled in the study, 83 of the patients with unilateral chylothorax, and 37 with bilateral chylothorax. All patients underwent both 99mTc-DX lymphoscintigraphy and pleural effusion laboratory analysis. The 99mTc-DX lymphoscintigraphy images were categorized as positive or negative groups based on the presence or absence of abnormal radioactive tracer accumulation in the thorax, respectively. The biochemical parameters of the two groups were subsequently compared. Results: Among these patients, 101 (84.17%) had exudative effusions, while 19 (15.83%) had transudative effusions, as determined by the levels of pleural effusion protein, lactate dehydrogenase and cholesterol. Abnormal tracer accumulation in thorax was observed in 82 patients (68.33%). Our findings indicated that lymphoscintigraphy results were not associated with exudative and transudative chylothorax (P = 0.597). The lymphoscintigraphy positive group displayed significantly higher levels of pleural effusion triglyceride and pleural effusion triglyceride/serum triglyceride ratio in all biochemical parameters, compared to the negative group (P = 0.000 and P = 0.005). We identified cutoff values of 2.870 mmol/L for pleural effusion triglycerides and 4.625 for pleural effusion triglyceride/serum triglyceride ratio, respectively, which can facilitate differentiating the positive and negative cases on lymphoscintigraphy. Conclusion: Lymphoscintigraphy technique is a dependable diagnostic tool for the qualitative assessment of chylous pleural effusion. Higher pleural effusion triglyceride level and pleural effusion triglyceride/serum triglyceride ratio indicate a positive result in patients with chylothorax on lymphoscintigraphy, with the cutoff values of 2.870 mmol/L and 4.625 aiding in the diagnosis. Sb2Te thin films were deposited on SiO2/Si (100) substrates by magnetron sputtering. We investigated the crystallization behavior of Sb2Te thin films for phase-change memory applications. The experimental results show that the optical reflectivity is increased by more than 30% before and after crystallization. The resistance is decreased at least 102 orders of magnitude in the crystallization process, which suggests the application potential of Sb2Te thin film as optoelectronic storage material. The computational results show that the local crystallization activation energy is 1.72 eV and the crystal growth velocity is 4.96 m s−1, confirming the strong crystallization tendency of Sb2Te thin film. We examined the features of amorphous local bonding and found that the local octahedral geometry is the structural origin of optoelectronic contrast and crystallization tendency. Furthermore, the presence of weak Sb-Sb, Sb-Te, and Te-Te bonds and high mobility of Sb atoms facilitate the high-speed and low-activation-energy crystallization. Hence, we suggested that reducing the number of octahedrons and introducing the strong chemical bonds could promote stable optoelectronic memory applications of Sb2Te thin film. Highlights: The vertically aligned structures of anisotropic fillers (using 2D boron nitride (BN) platelets as a proof-of-concept) in composites are constructed assisted by the expansion flow. BN platelets in composites are aligned in a curved shape that includes vertical alignment in the central area and horizontal alignment close to strip surfaces. The shape of expansion channels affects the vertical orientation order and the through-plane thermal conductivity of composites.Orientation control of anisotropic one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) materials in solutions is of great importance in many fields ranging from structural materials design, the thermal management, to energy storage. Achieving fine control of vertical alignment of anisotropic fillers (such as graphene, boron nitride (BN), and carbon fiber) remains challenging. This work presents a universal and scalable method for constructing vertically aligned structures of anisotropic fillers in composites assisted by the expansion flow (using 2D BN platelets as a proof-of-concept). BN platelets in the silicone gel strip are oriented in a curved shape that includes vertical alignment in the central area and horizontal alignment close to strip surfaces. Due to the vertical orientation of BN in the central area of strips, a through-plane thermal conductivity as high as 5.65 W m−1 K−1 was obtained, which can be further improved to 6.54 W m−1 K−1 by combining BN and pitch-based carbon fibers. The expansion-flow-assisted alignment can be extended to the manufacture of a variety of polymer composites filled with 1D and 2D materials, which can find wide applications in batteries, electronics, and energy storage devices. Purpose: Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor with a high degree of malignancy, strong heterogeneity, and high lethality. Trop2 is a transmembrane glycoprotein associated with the occurrence, development, and poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer. This study aims to develop 64Cu/177Lu-labeled anti-Trop2 monoclonal antibody (hIMB1636) for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and radioimmunotherapy (RIT) application in pancreatic cancer tumor models. Methods: The binding kinetics of hIMB1636 to Trop2 antigen was measured by Biolayer interferometry (BLI). Western blotting was used to screen the Trop2 expression of pancreatic cancer cell lines. Flow cytometry and cell immunofluorescence were used to evaluate the binding ability of hIMB1636 and Trop2 on the cell surface. hIMB1636 were conjugated with p-SCN-Bn-NOTA (NOTA) and DOTA-NHS-ester (DOTA) for 64Cu and 177Lu radiolabeling respectively. ImmunoPET imaging and RIT studies were performed using 64Cu-NOTA-hIMB1636 and 177Lu-DOTA-hIMB1636 in subcutaneous pancreatic cancer tumor models. Results: hIMB1636 had a strong binding affinity to Trop2 according to the results of BLI. The T3M-4 cell line showed the strongest expression of Trop2 and specific binding ability of hIMB1636 according to the results of Western blotting, flow cytometry, and cell immunofluorescence. The radiochemical purity of 64Cu-NOTA-hIMB1636 and 177Lu-DOTA-hIMB1636 exceeded 95%. PET imaging showed gradually an accumulation of 64Cu-NOTA-hIMB1636 in T3M-4 tumor models. The maximum tumor uptake was 8.95 ± 1.07%ID/g (n = 4) at 48 h post injection (p.i.), which had significant differences with T3M-4-blocked and PaTu8988-negative groups (P < 0.001). The high-177Lu-hIMB1636 group demonstrated the strongest tumor suppression with standardized tumor volume about 94.24 ± 14.62% (n = 5) at 14 days p.i., significantly smaller than other groups (P < 0.05). Ex vivo biodistribution and histological staining verified the in vivo PET imaging and RIT results. Conclusions: This study demonstrated that 64Cu/177Lu-labeled hIMB1636 could noninvasively evaluate the expression level of Trop2 and inhibit the Trop2-overexpressed tumor growth in pancreatic cancer tumor models. Purpose: Abnormal CD38 expression in some hematologic malignancies, including lymphoma, has made it a biomarker for targeted therapies. Daratumumab (Dara) is the first FDA-approved CD38-specific monoclonal antibody, enabling successfully immunoPET imaging over the past years. Radiolabeled Dara however has a long blood circulation and delayed tumor uptake which can limit its applications. The focus of this study is to develop 64Cu-labeled Dara-F(ab′)2 for the visualization of CD38 in lymphoma models. Methods: F(ab′)2 fragment was prepared from Dara using an IdeS enzyme and purified with Protein A beads. Western blotting, flow cytometry, and surface plasmon resonance (SPR) were performed for in vitro assay. Probes were labeled with 64Cu after the chelation of 1,4,7-triazacyclononane-1,4,7-triacetic acid (NOTA). Small animal PET imaging and quantitative analysis were performed after injection of 64Cu-labeled Dara-F(ab′)2, IgG-F(ab′)2, and Dara for evaluation in lymphoma models. Results: Flow cytometry and SPR assay proved the specific binding ability of Dara-F(ab′)2 and NOTA-Dara-F(ab′)2 in vitro. Radiolabeling yield of [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara-F(ab′)2 was over 90% and with a specific activity of 4.0 ± 0.6 × 103 MBq/μmol (n = 5). PET imaging showed [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara-F(ab′)2 had a rapid and high tumor uptake as early as 2 h (6.9 ± 1.2%ID/g) and peaked (9.5 ± 0.7%ID/g) at 12 h, whereas [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara reached its tumor uptake peaked at 48 h (8.3 ± 1.4%ID/g, n = 4). In comparison, IgG-F(ab′)2 and HBL-1 control groups found no noticeable tumor uptake. [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara-F(ab′)2 had significantly lower uptake in blood pool, bone, and muscle than [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara and its tumor-to-blood and tumor-to-muscle ratios were significantly higher than controls. Conclusions: [64Cu]Cu-NOTA-Dara-F(ab′)2 showed a rapid and high tumor uptake in CD38-positive lymphoma models with favorable imaging contrast, showing its promise as a potential PET imaging agent for future clinical applications. Objective: Pep-1 (CGEMGWVRC) can potently bind to interleukin 13 receptor α 2 (IL-13Rα2), a tumor-restricted receptor found to be expressed in various malignancies. In this study, we intended to prepare a 99mTc-labeled probe and evaluate its in vivo tumor accumulation properties in a cervical cancer xenograft model. Methods: The Pep-1 was designed and radiolabeled with 99mTc by conjugation with mercaptoacetyl-triglycine (MAG3). The labeling yield, radiochemical purity and stability were characterized in vitro. Cell uptake assays and fluorescence imaging were conducted for qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the specificity and affinity of Pep-1. Flow cytometry and tissue immunofluorescence were used to confirm the IL-13Rα2 expression in cervical cancer. Biodistribution and in vivo imaging were performed periodically to evaluate the imaging value of 99mTc-MAG3-Pep-1 in cervical cancer xenograft model. Results: 99mTc-MAG3-Pep-1 was successfully prepared with a high labeling yield and radiochemical purity (> 95%). Specific cell uptake was demonstrated by scramble control and unlabeled MAG3-Pep-1 blockade. Flow cytometry and tissue immunofluorescence also confirmed the mild IL-13Rα2 expression of HeLa. In the gamma imaging study and biodistribution, the tumors were imaged clearly at 2–6 h after injection of 99mTc-MAG3-Pep-1 and the accumulation of 99mTc-MAG3-Pep-1 in tumor was significantly higher than that in the blocking and scramble controls, demonstrating ligand–receptor binding specificity. Conclusions: This work demonstrated that 99mTc-MAG3-Pep-1 can bind to cervical cancer with high affinity and specificity. Although the development of energy and mineral resources strongly supports China's rapid industrialization and urbanization, it has led to a series of ecological and environmental problems. Strengthening the spatial regulation considering the ecological and environmental protection on energy and mineral resource development areas is an important aspect of realizing China's sustainable development. In this study, we mapped, categorized, and analyzed the ecological cumulative effects of the Chinese 134 prefectural mining units based on the pressure-state-response model, which is demonstrated as impact of mining activities on ecological environment, ecological environmental fragility, and ecological function. This investigation developed a stress zoning typology of the mining units based on scores of three dimensions of the ecological cumulative effects and classified 134 prefectural mining units into eight types of stress zones. A series of regulation and policy suggestions have been proposed to different types of zones from three aspects: space control, intensity control, and development mode control. Copper and copper alloys own high thermal conductivity, electrical conductivity, good plasticity, and corrosion resistance, which are widely used in electric power, aerospace, and marine engineering. Due to low absorption rate of infrared and near infrared light, high thermal conductivity and high activity with oxygen, laser cladding of copper, and copper alloys are difficult to be conducted in air since the problems associated to cracks and voids are always hardly to be eliminated. In this paper, C-Al2O3-Cu composite powder mixed with Ni and Fe was developed to solve these problems. Use of carbon was to depress the oxidation and improve the laser absorption, while alumina was used to improve the laser absorption and mechanical strength. To improve the bonding strength between cladding layer and substrate, Ni and Fe were used. Experimental results showed that no obvious aggregation was observed and the powder showed good fluidity. The tensile strength of the cladding layer is 406.7 ± 0.1MPa which is about 1.7 times higher than that of pure copper substrate, and the tensile fracture of the cladding layer revealed microporous aggregation fracture due to the existence of Al2O3 in the cladding layer. The aneuploidy chromosome addition lines with individual chromosomes of one species into the whole genome of another species developed from interspecific or intergeneric crosses are ideal for studying the gene expression regulation under asymmetrical genome interactions. Here, we chose two rapeseed-radish addition lines (2n=40, AACC+2R) with all chromosomes of rapeseed and one pair of radish chromosomes carrying 25S rDNA loci and both 5S and 25S rDNA loci, respectively. Transcriptome sequencing of these two rapeseed-radish addition lines, together with two parents (Brassica napus, 2n=38, AACC; Raphanus sativus, 2n=18, RR), was performed to assess gene expression changes due to the aneuploidy effect. Our results showed that the global gene expression perturbations in two addition lines showed asymmetric distributions between A and C subgenomes, for more downregulated genes located in the C subgenome. Moreover, several dysregulated domains occurred in the addition lines and majority of them were clustered in C subgenome, further revealing that C subgenome was more inclined to be repressed by the aneuploidy. Homoeolog expression was slightly biased toward C subgenome in the parent B. napus, but had no preference to either of A or C subgenome in the addition lines. The total number of biased genes increased sharply and most of them were shared only by two addition lines, indicating that aneuploidy could change the extent and direction of homoeolog expression. The triplicated subgenomes which were orthologs to the chromosomes of Arabidopsis thaliana also exhibited dramatic alternations in two additions. Together, our results revealed that the addition of individual radish chromosomes could induce dramatically transcriptomic disturbances and those expression changes gave asymmetric distributions between two subgenomes in B. napus. Flavonoid metabolism serves an important function in plant growth and development. In this study, we selected 20 varieties of apple lines, 10 green and ten red branches, from the plant nursery of Qingdao Agriculture Academy. Metabolite analysis revealed that large amounts of anthocyanins accumulated in the purple-red branches of M. ‘Pink spire’. Real-time polymerase chain reaction showed that the expression of the flavonol synthase gene MdFLS1 was over 1500-fold higher in M. ‘Pink spire’ than in the other varieties. A single base A was inserted at the first three bases of the active binding site of MdFLS1 to prove that the purple-red colour of apple leaves and stems in M. ‘Pink spire’ may be caused by the inactivation of MdFLS1 protein. The results of in vitro enzymatic reaction revealed that the MdFLS1 protein lost its activity. MdFLS1 was expressed in Arabidopsis thaliana to explore further its functions. High-expression wild-type strains (OE1 and OE2) and high-expression strains of A-base insertion (A-OE1 and A-OE2) were obtained. Compared with the wild-type strains, the overexpression lines showed lighter tissue colour and less accumulation of anthocyanins. However, A-OE1 and A-OE2 showed no difference in colouration. In conclusion, we speculated that the MdFLS1 gene in M. ‘Pink spire’ cannot bind flavonoids, triggering the synthesis of anthocyanins in another branch of the flavonoid metabolic pathway and resulting in the purple-red colouration of apple leaves and stems. The electrochemical migration (ECM) behavior of low-temperature-sintered Ag nanoparticle paste electrode was investigated using water-drop method. The effects of applied direct current bias voltage and NaCl concentration on ECM behavior were discussed. Results show that: at low NaCl concentration levels, mean time to failure caused by ECM decreased with increasing NaCl concentration due to the increase of solution conductivity; at medium NaCl concentration levels, dendrite growth was retarded due to the formation of AgOH or other insoluble products, while at high NaCl concentration levels, due to the turbulent hydrogen evolution, the second spreading of water drop resulted in the circuit broken and thus inhibited ECM behavior. Moreover, mean time to failure decreased with the rising applied bias voltage. More importantly, hexadecyltrimethylammonium chloride (CTAC) was proved to act as an effective inhibitor to migrate dendrite growth by selected adsorption. And the ECM inhibition efficiency increased with the concentration of CTAC. We report effectiveness of dopants selected from group 13, such as B, Ga, and In, on the conductivity of Li1.5Al0.5Ge1.5(PO4)3 (LAGP) that is recognized as one of the promising solid electrolytes for next-generation solid-state lithium batteries. To minimize loss of versatile element, crystallization of LAGP using a microwave irradiation is introduced. Experimental results demonstrate that B enhances grain boundary conductivity, while Ga improves the bulk ionic conductivity. Laser diodes (LDs) have been considered as cost-effective and compact excitation sources to overcome the requirement of costly and bulky pulsed laser sources that are commonly used in photoacoustic microscopy (PAM). However, the spatial resolution and/or imaging speed of previously reported LD-based PAM systems have not been optimized simultaneously. In this paper, we developed a high-speed and high-resolution LD-based PAM system using a continuous wave LD, operating at a pulsed mode, with a repetition rate of 30 kHz, as an excitation source. A hybrid scanning mechanism that synchronizes a one-dimensional galvanometer mirror and a two-dimensional motorized stage is applied to achieve a fast imaging capability without signal averaging due to the high signal-to-noise ratio. By optimizing the optical system, a high lateral resolution of 4.8 μm has been achieved. Phase change memory (PCM) based on chalcogenide compounds is considered to be an excellent candidate for next-generation memory because of its high speed, low energy consumption, high-density information storage, and durable stability. This has become a topic of general interest during the last two decades. Various systems have been proposed to explore more suitable compositions for PCM applications such as Ge-Te and Sb-Te binary alloys, GeTe-Sb2Te3 pseudo-binary alloys, and novel Te-free Sb-based alloys. In spite of this, the comprehensive performance of these pure systems still cannot fully satisfy the need for commercialization. Modification of alloys is an effective approach to enhance performance; this has been investigated significantly. Nevertheless, there are relatively few reports that directly provide integrated data on the effect of various alloying modifiers on the properties of PCM materials to obtain the relevant information conveniently, understand the role of chemical tailors on the properties of PCM materials deeply, and select modifiers matching the matrix systems efficiently. To achieve these goals and facilitate studies on PCM materials, this overview begins by summarizing and analyzing the role of alloying tailors on the performance of representative GeTe, Sb2Te3, Ge2Sb2Te5, and Sb-based systems containing Te (Sb2Te, Sb3Te, Sb4Te) and without Te (Sb-M), followed by comparing the comprehensive performance of optimized systems. This study undertakes a systematic examination of characteristics of the spatio-temporal evolution of industrial economies in Central Asia from the perspectives of industrial scale, structural rationality, industrial competitiveness, and industrial isomorphism. The results show that industrial structures in Central Asian countries are becoming increasingly advanced, with certain differences among them in the characteristics of this evolution. Kazakhstan has long had a tertiary-secondary-primary industrial pattern, and productive services have played an increasingly prominent role in the development of its tertiary industry. The transformation of the industrial structure in Uzbekistan, from a secondary-tertiary- primary pattern at its independence from the Soviet Union to a tertiary-secondary-primary pattern, is apparent. Tajikistan's industrial structure has also changed significantly in recent times. Its secondary industries shrunk while tertiary industries developed rapidly. In Kyrgyzstan, the ratios of secondary and tertiary industries to total industrial output have fluctuated significantly while considerable progress has been made in the service sector. The industrial structure of Turkmenistan is significantly lower than the other countries, and Turkmenistan is the only country in the Central Asian region which still shows a tertiary-secondary-primary industrial pattern. The feasibility and competitiveness of the industrial structures of these five Central Asian countries have different characteristics. Kazakhstan has structural advantages but lags in competitiveness, Uzbekistan is driven by both structural and competitive advantages, Tajikistan enjoys structural advantages while Kyrgyzstan lags behind in competitiveness, and Turkmenistan has a competitiveness-driven economy. Furthermore, values of the similar coefficient index of the three industrial structures in these countries were mostly above 0.95, the coefficients of the secondary industrial subdivisions in some countries were below 0.85, and those of tertiary industrial subdivisions among most countries were above 0.89, indicating considerable similarities in industrial structure among them. These findings are important in the context of establishing an effective industrial development strategy for the Silk Road Economic Belt, improving international cooperation, and upgrading industrial structures to achieve economic prosperity. Samples from the Shahezi mudstone of Well SongkeII (SKII) in the Songliao Basin were analyzed for mineral composition, source rock geochemistry, and reservoir pore structure. It is revealed that the Shahezi mudstone is a typical clay rock, with an average TOC of 2.12% (dominantly Type II–III organic matters) and a vitrinite reflectance Ro of 2.28–2.34%. The pore structure of the Shahezi mudstone reservoir mainly comprises intergranular pores and interlayer fractures in clay minerals, and also organic pores (including fractures at the particle-organic edges and also pores in some unstructured organic matters). The Shahezi mudstone has a specific pore volume of 0.01–0.04 cm3/g. Correlation analysis of specific pore volume and mineral composition reveals that the pore development of the Shahezi mudstone is mainly controlled by inorganic minerals. The nitrogen adsorption and high-pressure mercury intrusion tests were combined to obtain the full-scale pore size distribution and specific pore volume of the Shahezi mudstone, and the shale gas "sweet spot" interval is inferred to be 3,500–3,700 m. Purpose: To study the retinal and choroidal microvascular parameters in children with nephrotic syndrome (NS). Methods: This is a cross-sectional study. Optical coherence tomography angiography was used to evaluate the changes of retinal and choroidal microvessels in patients with NS. Thirty NS children and 20 normal controls were included in this study. The macular vessel density (VD) of the superficial capillary plexus (SCP), deep capillary plexus (DCP), choroid capillary plexus (CCP), and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area of the SCP and DCP was quantitatively calculated. Clinical data including serum protein, blood lipid, uric acid, urea, serum creatinine, urinary protein concentration, urinary creatinine, 24-h urine volume, 24-h urinary total protein, 24-h creatinine clearance rate, and urinary albumin to creatinine ratio were collected. Results: The VDs of the DCP and CCP in children with NS were significantly lower than those in controls (59.35 ± 2.45 vs. 61.15 ± 1.53, p = 0.002, 66.34 ± 1.43 vs. 67.16 ± 1.23, p = 0.042, respectively). The VD of the SCP in children with NS had a tendency to decrease compared with that in controls, but there were no significant differences. There were also no significant differences in FAZ area between the two groups. The VD of the SCP was positively correlated with serum total protein (ρ = 0.446, p = 0.014), serum albumin (ρ = 0.431, p = 0.017), and 24-h urine volume (ρ = 0.389, p = 0.034) but negatively correlated with triglyceride (ρ = − 0.450, p = 0.013), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (ρ = −0.432, p = 0.017), urinary protein concentration (ρ = − 0.606, p < 0.001), and 24-h urinary total protein (ρ = − 0.517, p = 0.004). The VDs of the SCP, DCP, and CCP were negatively correlated with the urinary albumin to creatinine ratio (ρ = − 0.473, p = 0.008, ρ = − 0.438, p = 0.015, ρ = −0.467, p = 0.009, respectively). Conclusions: Retinal and choroidal VDs were decreased in children with NS and paralleled the severity of kidney disease. Lipstick is a kind of popular cosmetic, which can give the lip a beautiful color and improve its appearance. The problem is that dye molecules would be in contact with the skin, whereas the lipstick made with dyed CNCs (CNC-lipstick) would reduce the contact. Herein, we demonstrated that the deficiency of color migration can be overcome by using the cellulose nanocrystal (CNC) dye to replace conventional dye in the lipstick substrates. The lipstick containing CNC dye (CNC-lipstick) could effectively inhibit the color migration and was easily erased as compared to ordinary lipsticks. The color change on the scoured skin was as high as ΔE* = 30.4 after using red ordinary dye-lipstick for 8 h, and red residue was clearly observed in the texture of the skin. Further cleaned with makeup remover, the color change on the scoured skin was ΔE* = 6.4. Notably, the color change of CNC-lipstick was ΔE* < 5, and only a small amount of red residue could be observed in the texture of the skin. The reduction of color migration from the lipstick to the skin was probably due to the fact that the dye absorbed by the CNC, which slowed down the diffusion rate of dye molecules. In the present work, continuous cooling curves were accurately measured by the modified Jominy specimen of 7B50 alloy during water-spray quenching tests. Besides, the time–temperature–properties (TTP) curves of this alloy were obtained during isothermal treatments. Based on the accurate cooling curves and TTP curves, the hardness distribution along the thickness direction of 7B50 alloy thick plates was predicted by quench factor analysis method. It is found that the quench sensitive temperature range of 7B50 alloy is 240–410 °C, the nose temperature is 335 °C, and the incubation period at the nose temperature is about 0.87 s. When 7B50 alloy was isothermal treated at 180–400 °C after solid solution treatment (470 °C for 1 h followed by 483 °C for 2 h), the exponent (n) in the Johnson–Mehl–Avrami equation is close to 1 until transformed fraction of new precipitates is up to 60%, indicating that new precipitates first grow into rodlike shape and then coarsen or thicken. When the distance is less than 65 mm from the spray quenching surface of the modified Jominy specimen, the deviation between the predicted and measured hardness is less than 2.7%, confirming the quench factor analysis method as the feasible way to predict the hardness distribution along the thickness direction of 7B50 alloy thick plates. When the distance from the spray quenching surface is 25 mm, the average cooling rate in quench sensitive temperature range is 9.93 °C·s−1, while the quench factor (τ) is 9.89 and the corresponding predicted hardness is HV 185.1 equivalent to 97.3% of the maximum measured hardness of 7B50 alloy in T6 temper. The kyanite-bearing garnet pelitic gneiss from the Jianggalesayi area in southern Altyn Tagh high pressure/ultra-high pressure belt was proved to have been experienced UHP metamorphism (>12 GPa) by the discovery of kyanite and spinel exsolution microstructure in quartz (precursor stishovite). In this study, three stages of retrograded metamorphism (M2–M4) after the UHP metamorphism (M1) were identified for the UHP pelitic gneiss. The HP granulite-facies stage (M2) was characterized by the mineral assemblage of garnet+kyanite+K-feldspar+rutile+quartz±ilmenite, recording the P-T condition of >1.12 GPa and ≈850–930 ºC. The granulite-facies stage (M3) was represented by the mineral assemblage of garnet rim+K-feldspar+sillimanite (Sill1)+biotite (Bt1)+plagioclase (Pl1)+ilmenite+quartz, and confined under P-T conditions of 0.5–0.8 GPa and ≈770–795 ºC. The late cooling stage M4 was accompanied by the appearance of fine-grained Pl2, Sill2 and Bt2 in the matrix, and the P-T conditions were 0.4–0.6 GPa and <675 ºC. A clockwised P-T path was obtained for the pelitic gneiss in the P-T pseudosection, which showed a deep subduction/collision processes with subsequent exhumation and cooling. Combined with the corresponding multistage metamorphic assemblages, the age dating results implied that the zircons from the gneiss have integrated the recording peak metamorphic (M1, 484±3 Ma) and retrograded metamorphic ages (M2 to M3, 450±2 Ma). There was about 32 Ma interval during the first exhumation from the upper mantle depth (>350 km) to the lower crust depth (≈40–20 km), resulting in an average exhumation rate of 9.11–9.70 mm/yr. In the southern Altyn Tagh region, the HP and UHP rocks from different areas had identical peak metamorphic ages. Therefore, contemporary UHP and HP rocks with different metamorphic evolutions were recognized coexisting in the same orogenic belt, which can be interpreted by the model of subduction channel. The continental crustal were subducted to different depths along the direction of the subduction channels at ≈500 Ma, suffered different grade metamorphism, and then returned to the surface along the subduction channel. Long-distance inter-basin water transfer solves the problem of unbalanced water resources in different regions. However, it also changes the natural water chemistry characteristics as well as the bioavailability of heavy metals in the receiving water. In this study, taking the South-to-North Water Transfer Project in China as an example, the basic physicochemical characteristics of the source water (in the Danjiangkou (DJK) Reservoir) and receiving water (in the Beitang (BT) Reservoir) were studied. The BLM (biotic ligand model) was used to study the effect of long-distance inter-basin water transfer on the bioavailability of Cu in receiving waters. The results showed that the TOC (total organic carbon) and TDS (total dissolved solids) in the BT Reservoir water were 10 times and 4.6 times greater than those of the DJK Reservoir water, respectively. The ions in the BT Reservoir were mainly (K++Na+)–(SO42−+CI−), while the ions in the DJK Reservoir were mainly (Ca2++Mg2+)–HCO3−. The results from the BLM showed that the main species of Cu in the water was total organic Cu (Torg Cu), which accounted for 98.69% and 99.77% of the Cu in the DJK Reservoir and BT Reservoir, respectively. The LC50 of Cu for Daphnia magna was 1203.40 ± 57.70 μg/l in the BT Reservoir and only 101.93 ± 7.60 μg/l in the DJK Reservoir. The criteria maximum concentration value of the BT Reservoir was 13.75 times that of the DJK Reservoir, while the criteria continuous concentration value of the BT Reservoir was 13.76 times that of the DJK Reservoir. These results showed that the heavy metals content in water bodies should not be used as the only consideration for water ecological security in the inter-basin water transfer process, and that differences in water quality criteria values caused by differing water environmental qualities in the river basins must be taken into consideration. Purpose: Tc-99m- and I-131-labeled arginine-arginine-leucine (RRL) peptides have shown the feasibility of tumor imaging in our previous studies. However, there have been no reports using RRL peptide for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. In this study, RRL was radiolabeled with Ga-68 under optimized reaction conditions to develop a better specific and effective tumor imaging agent.Procedures: RRL was synthesized and conjugated to a bifunctional chelating agent (DOTA-NHS), then radiolabeled with Ga-68. Labeling yield was optimized by varying pH, temperature, and reaction time and the stability was evaluated in human fresh serum. Cellular uptakes of [68Ga]DOTA-RRL and FITC-conjugated RRL in HepG2 cells were evaluated using a gamma counter, confocal microscopy, and flow cytometry. PET images and biodistribution were performed in HepG2 tumor-bearing mice after injection of [68Ga]DOTA-RRL or [68Ga]GaCl3 at different time points. Further, blocking study was investigated using cold RRL.Results: The labeling yield of [68Ga]DOTA-RRL was 80.6 ± 3.9 % with a pH of 3.5-4.5 at 100 °C for 15 min. The cellular uptake of [68Ga]DOTA-RRL in HepG2 cells was significantly higher than that of [68Ga]GaCl3 (P < 0.05). Moreover, the high fluorescent affinity of FITC-conjugated RRL in HepG2 cells was shown using confocal microscopy and flow cytometry. After injection of [68Ga]DOTA-RRL in HepG2 tumor-bearing mice, tumor regions exhibited high radioactive accumulation over 120 min and the highest uptake at 30 min. After blocked with cold RRL, HepG2 tumors could not be visualized. [68Ga]GaCl3 was unable to show tumor images at any time point. The biodistribution results confirmed the PET imaging and blocking results.Conclusions: Our study successfully prepared [68Ga]DOTA-RRL with a high labeling yield under the optimized reaction conditions and demonstrated its potential role as a PET imaging agent for tumor-targeted diagnosis. DNA tetrahedron nanostructure (DTN) is one of the simplest DNA nanostructures and has been successfully applied for biosensing, imaging, and treatment of cancer. To facilitate its biomedical applications and potential clinical translation, fundamental understanding of DTN's transportation among major organs in living organisms becomes increasingly important. Here, we describe the efficient renal clearance of DTN in healthy mice by using positron emission tomography (PET) imaging. The kidney elimination of DTN was later applied for renal function evaluation in murine models of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). We further established a mathematical program of DTN to validate its changes of transportation pattern in healthy and UUO mice. We believe the establishment of pharmacokinetic profiles and mathematical model of DTN may provide insight for future optimization of DNA nanostructures for biomedical applications. Soil pollution in industrial areas poses a major challenge for China’s environmental protection. In this study, comprehensive assessment methodologies for soil risk in industrial areas were developed. The comprehensive assessment covered ecological and human health risks of soil pollution, as well as vulnerability of different types of risk receptors. Comprehensive ecological risk assessment integrated potential ecological risk assessment and landscape vulnerability assessment. Comprehensive social risk assessment specialized human health risk assessment by introducing spatial distribution of population. A typical industrial area in China was studied, and the quantitative and spatial assessments of the comprehensive soil risk were presented. The results showed that the spatial distribution of soil comprehensive ecological and social risks differed. High-risk areas of soil comprehensive ecological risk in the study area were mainly farmlands and nature reserves. Inhabited areas and industrial zones were less affected by comprehensive ecological risk of soil. By contrast, the spatial distribution of soil comprehensive social risk and human activities showed a clear trend of convergence. Purpose: CD38 is considered a potential biomarker for multiple myeloma (MM) and has shown a strong link with chronic lymphocytic leukemia due to high and uniform expression on plasma cells. In vivo evaluation of CD38 expression may provide useful information about lesion detection and prognosis of treatment in MM. In this study, immunoPET imaging with 89Zr-labeled daratumumab was used for differentiation of CD38 expression in murine lymphoma models to provide a potential non-invasive method for monitoring CD38 in the clinic.Methods: Daratumumab was radiolabeled with 89Zr (t1/2 = 78.4 h) via conjugation with desferrioxamine (Df). After Western blot (WB) was used to screen CD38 expression in five lymphoma cell lines, flow cytometry and cellular binding assays were performed to test the binding ability of labeled or conjugated daratumumab with CD38 in vitro. PET imaging and biodistribution studies were performed to evaluate CD38 expression after injection of 89Zr-Df-daratumumab. 89Zr-Df-IgG was also evaluated as a non-specific control group in the Ramos model. Finally, CD38 expression in tumor tissues was verified by histological analysis.Results: Using WB screening, the Ramos cell line was found to express the highest level of CD38 while the HBL-1 cell line had the lowest expression. Df-conjugated and 89Zr-labeled daratumumab displayed similar high binding affinities with Ramos cells. PET imaging of 89Zr-Df-daratumumab showed a high tumor uptake of up to 26.6 ± 8.0 %ID/g for Ramos at 120 h post-injection, and only up to 6.6 ± 2.9 %ID/g for HBL-1 (n = 4). Additionally, 89Zr-Df-IgG demonstrated a low tumor uptake in the Ramos model (only 4.3 ± 0.8 %ID/g at 120 h post-injection). Ex vivo biodistribution studies showed similar trends with imaging results. Immunofluorescence staining of tumor tissues verified higher CD38 expression of Ramos than that of HBL-1.Conclusions: The role of 89Zr-Df-daratumumab was investigated for evaluating CD38 expression in lymphoma models non-invasively and was found to be to a promising imaging agent of CD38-positive hematological diseases such as MM in future clinical applications. The proinflammatory cytokine interleukin-1β (IL-1β) is involved in the initiation and progression of osteoarthritis (OA) by stimulating the expression of matrix-degrading proteinases, such as a disintegrin metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-5 (ADAMTS-5), a key player in OA pathogenesis. However, how IL-1β induces ADAMTS-5 overexpression is poorly understood. We demonstrate that IL-1β regulates ADAMTS-5 expression by suppressing microRNA-30a (miR-30a). Bioinformatics was performed to predict miRNAs targeting ADAMTS-5. miR-30a inhibited ADAMTS-5 expression by directly targeting its 3′-untranslated region. miR-30a expression was downregulated in OA patients and was negatively correlated with ADAMTS-5 expression and positively correlated with Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) scores. IL-1β suppressed miR-30a expression by recruiting the activator protein (AP-1) transcription factor c-jun/c-fos to the miR-30a promoter. IL-1β-induced c-jun/c-fos expression regulated ADAMTS-5 expression and cartilage matrix degradation via miR-30a in human chondrocytes. These data indicate that the IL-1β/AP-1/miR-30a/ADAMTS-5 pathway contributes to IL-1β-induced cartilage matrix degradation in human OA chondrocytes. miR-30a may act as a pivotal regulator of cartilage homeostasis and a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for OA. The residual levels of phthalate esters (PAEs) in the surface and two core sediments from Lake Chaohu were measured with a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer (GC-MS). The temporal-spatial distributions, compositions of PAEs, and their effecting factors were investigated. The results indicated that di-n-butyl phthalate (DnBP), diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP), and di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) were three dominant PAE components in both the surface and core sediments. The residual level of total detected PAEs (∑PAEs) in the surface sediments (2.146 ± 2.255 μg/g dw) was lower than that in the western core sediments (10.615 ± 9.733 μg/g) and in the eastern core sediments (5.109 ± 4.741 μg/g). The average content of ∑PAEs in the surface sediments from the inflow rivers (4.128 ± 1.738 μg/g dw) was an order of magnitude higher than those from the lake (0.323 ± 0.093 μg/g dw), and there were similar PAE compositions between the lake and inflow rivers. This finding means that there were important effects of PAE input from the inflow rivers on the compositions and distributions of PAEs in the surface sediments. An increasing trend was found for the residual levels of ΣPAEs, DnBP, and DIBP from the bottom to the surface in both the western and eastern core sediments. Increasing PAE usage with the population growth, urbanization, and industrial and agricultural development in Lake Chaohu watershed would result in the increasing production of PAEs and their resulting presence in the sediments. Fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) plays an important role in the development of osteoarthritis (OA) through the regulation of cartilage degradation. However, the molecular mechanism underlying FGF2-induced OA is poorly characterized. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) maintain cartilage homeostasis. To examine whether FGF2 regulates OA through the modulation of miRNA, we screened potential miRNA molecules that could be regulated through FGF2 using microarray analysis. The results showed that microRNA-105 (miR-105) was significantly downregulated in chondrocytes stimulated with FGF2. Runt-related transcription factor 2 (Runx2), a key transcription factor involved in OA, has been identified as a novel potential target of miR-105. FGF2 suppressed miR-105 expression through the recruitment of the subunit of the nuclear factor kappa B transcription complex p65 to the miR-105 promoter. The knockdown of Runx2 mimicked the effect of miR-105 and abolished the ability of miR-105 to regulate the expression of a disintegrin-like and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin 4 (ADAMTS4), ADAMTS5, ADAMTS7 and ADAMTS12, both of which are responsible for the degradation of collagen 2A1 (COL2A1) and aggrecan (ACAN). miR-105 is also required for FGF2/p65-induced Runx2 activation and ADAMTS expression. Moreover, miR-105 expression was downregulated in OA patients and inversely correlated with the expression of Runx2, ADAMTS7 and ADAMTS12, which were upregulated in OA patients. These data highlight that the FGF2/p65/miR-105/Runx2/ADAMTS axis might play an important role in OA pathogenesis and that miR-105 might be a potential diagnostic target and useful strategy for OA treatment. A number of virus-encoded microRNAs have been shown to play important roles in virus replication and virus-host interactions, although the expression and function of miR-TAR-3p derived from the human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) TAR element remain controversial. In this study, miR-TAR-3p was detected in human peripheral blood monocyte-derived macrophages (MDMs) infected by HIV-1. Overexpression of miR-TAR-3p impaired viral replication, while inhibition of miR-TAR-3p enhanced it. Additionally, miR-TAR-3p repressed viral transcription and replication by targeting the TAR element in the HIV-1 5'-LTR in a sequence-specific manner. These results confirm the presence of miR-TAR-3p in HIV-1-infected MDMs and suggest that its function might be used as a mechanism to modulate HIV-1 replication through the expression of a negative regulatory factor. The Pearl River Delta on China's coast is a region that is seriously threatened by sea level rise and storm surges induced by global climate change, which causes flooding of large areas of farmland and huge agricultural losses. Based on relevant research and experience, a loss evaluation model of farmland yield caused by sea level rise and storm surges was established. In this model, the area of submerged farmland, area of crops, and per unit yield of every type of crop were considered, but the impact of wind, flooding time, changes in land use and plant structure were not considered for long-term prediction. Taking the Pearl River Delta region in Guangdong as the study area, we estimated and analyzed the spatial distribution and loss of farmlands for different scenarios in the years 2030, 2050, and 2100, using a digital elevation model, land-use data, local crop structure, rotation patterns, and yield loss ratios for different submerged heights obtained from field survey and questionnaires. The results show that the proportion of submerged farmlands and losses of agricultural production in the Pearl River Delta region will increase gradually from 2030 to 2100. Yangjiang, Foshan, and Dongguan show obvious increases in submerged farmlands, while Guangzhou and Zhuhai show slow increases. In agricultural losses, vegetables would sustain the largest loss of production, followed by rice and peanuts. The greatest loss of rice crops would occur in Jiangmen, and the loss of vegetable crops would be high in Shanwei and Jiangmen. Although losses of peanut crops are generally lower, Jiangmen, Guangzhou, and Shanwei would experience relatively high losses. Finally, some measures to defend against storm surges are suggested, such as building sea walls and gates in Jiangmen, Huizhou, and Shanwei, enforcing ecological protection to reduce destruction from storm surges, and strengthening disaster warning systems. Four episodes of granitic rocks at 517, 501-496, 462-451, and 426-385 Ma occurred in the South Altyn subduction-collision complex. The first episode of granite emplacement predates the formation of the ophiolite type mafic rock (≥500 Ma), and the three subsequent episodes can be temporally correlated to high-pressure (HP) to ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) metamorphism at ca. 500 Ma, retrograde granulite-facies metamorphism at ca. 450 Ma, and amphibolite-facies metamorphism at ca. 420 Ma, respectively. A comprehensive study of these granitic rocks, along with the regional geological background, mafic-ultramafic rocks, and HP-UHP metamorphism, indicates that the four episodes of granitic magmatism are sequentially derived from the partial melting of the earlier subducted oceanic crust at 517 Ma, the thickened continental crust due to continental subduction at ca. 500 Ma, the mid-upper crust in response to slab breakoff at ca. 450 Ma, and the tectonic transition from contraction to extension at ca. 420 Ma. The formation age of 517 Ma for oceanic adakite provides a direct constraint on the time of the oceanic subduction in South Altyn. In addition, there is a ca. 10 Myr interval between the oceanic subduction to the continental deep subduction, suggesting that the Early Paleozoic tectonic evolution might have been a successive process in South Altyn. The four episodes of formation of granitic rocks, mafic-ultramafic rocks, and HP-UHP metamorphic rocks have fully recorded the tectonic evolution, beginning with the oceanic subduction, followed by continental subduction, and later exhumation during the Early Paleozoic in South Altyn. Metamaterials have enabled the realization of unconventional electromagnetic properties not found in nature, which provokes us to rethink the established rules of optics in both the linear and nonlinear regimes. One of the most intriguing phenomena in nonlinear metamaterials is 'backward phase-matching', which describes counter-propagating fundamental and harmonic waves in a negative-index medium. Predicted nearly a decade ago, this process is still awaiting a definitive experimental confirmation at optical frequencies. Here, we report optical measurements showing backward phase-matching by exploiting two distinct modes in a nonlinear plasmonic waveguide, where the real parts of the mode refractive indices are 3.4 and −3.4 for the fundamental and the harmonic waves respectively. The observed peak conversion efficiency at the excitation wavelength of ∼780 nm indicates the fulfilment of the phase-matching condition of k2ω = 2kω and n2ω = −nω, where the coherent harmonic wave emerges along a direction opposite to that of the incoming fundamental light. Mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathways have been shown to be activated in thyroid cancer. Recent evidences have demonstrated that the antidiabetic agent metformin, an activator of 5′-AMP-activated protein kinase, can impair the proliferation and migration of cancer cells via inhibition of mTOR. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we show that metformin can inhibit mTOR pathway to impair growth and migration of the thyroid cancer cell lines. Cyclin D1 and c-Myc are important regulators of cancer cell growth, and we observed that treatment of thyroid cancer cells with metformin reduced c-Myc and cyclin D1 expression through suppression of mTOR and subsequent inhibition of P70S6K1 and 4E-BP1 phosphorylation. Metformin reduced epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) in thyroid carcinoma cells. Moreover, metformin regulated expression of the EMT-related markers E-cadherin, N-cadherin, and Snail. Additionally, knockdown of TSC2, the upstream regulatory molecule of mTOR pathway, or treatment of rapamycin, the mTOR inhibitor, could abolish the effects of metformin to regulate thyroid cancer cell proliferation, migration, EMT, and mTOR pathway molecules. These results indicate that metformin can suppress the proliferation, migration, and EMT of thyroid cancer cell lines by inhibiting mTOR signaling. Antisense oligonucleotides have been used for a variety of purposes in microRNA (miRNA) research including functional evaluation, target recognition, and gene studies. Although several Tc-radiolabeled oligonucleotides have been reported in antisense imaging, none of those were related to miRNA tracing. Moreover, separation after labeling was always required to achieve acceptable radiochemical purity. In this study, we prepared a Tc-radiolabeled oligonucleotide under optimized conditions for the purpose of tracing miRNA. A 22mer anti-miRNA oligonucleotide (AMO) was designed completely complementary to the sequence of mature miR-21. AMO probe modified with 2′-O-Methyl and phosphorothioate backbone was designed and synthesized. This probe was conjugated with a bifunctional chelator S-acetylmercaptoacetyltriglycine (NHS-MAG3) via a primary amine on 5′-end. Furthermore, it was radiolabeled and its optimization labeling conditions were performed by varying the amount of stannous ion, Tc-pertecnetate, and reaction time, respectively. Finally, the labeled product was identified by gel electrophoresis and evaluated for its serum stability. The AMO was synthesized with partial 2′-OMe and phosphorothioate modification to improve its stability. Excess of MAG3 impurity was removed by precipitation of tin and MAG3 after the conjugation. The labeling efficiency reached 97 % under the optimal reaction conditions of 2 μg/μL SnCl·2HO addition, Tc solution with high specific activity, and 90-min reaction at room temperature. Gel electrophoresis confirmed that the peak of radioactivity located the same position of oligomer, which identified the successful radiolabeling. After incubated with human fresh serum for 12 h, labeled AMO showed good stability with high radiochemical purity and no significant degradation. A Tc-labeled AMO targeting miR-21 can be prepared with high labeling efficiency under optimized conditions, which provides a good support for the future use of miRNA-targeted tracing and imaging. Anomalous mechanical materials, with counterintuitive stress-strain responding behaviors, have emerged as novel type of functional materials with highly enhanced performances. Here we demonstrate that the materials with coexisting negative, zero and positive linear compressibilities can squeeze three-dimensional volume compressibility into one dimension, and provide a general and effective way to precisely stabilize the transmission processes under high pressure. We propose a "corrugated-graphite-like" structural model and discover lithium metaborate (LiBO2) to be the first material with such a mechanical behavior. The capability to keep the flux density stability under pressure in LiBO2 is at least two orders higher than that in conventional materials. Our study opens a way to the design and search of ultrastable transmission materials under extreme conditions. Osteoarthritis (OA) has been recognized as the most common chronic age-related disease. Cartilage degeneration influences OA therapy. Here we report that hematopoietic pre-B cell leukemia transcription factor-interacting protein (HPIP) is essential for OA development. Elevated HPIP levels are found in OA patients. Col2a1-CreERT2/HPIPf/f mice exhibit obvious skeletal abnormalities compared with their HPIPf/f littermates. HPIP deficiency in mice protects against developing OA. Moreover, intra-articular injection of adeno-associated virus carrying HPIP-specific short hairpin RNA in vivo attenuates OA histological signs. Notably, in vitro RNA-sequencing and chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing profiles identify that HPIP modulates OA cartilage degeneration through transcriptional activation of Wnt target genes. Mechanistically, HPIP promotes the transcription of Wnt targets by interacting with lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1 (LEF1). Furthermore, HPIP potentiates the transcriptional activity of LEF1 and acetylates histone H3 lysine 56 in the promoters of Wnt targets, suggesting that HPIP is an attractive target in OA regulatory network. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common reactive oxygen species (ROS)-related renal disease that causes numerous deaths annually, yet only supportive treatment is currently available in the clinics. Development of antioxidants with high accumulation rates in kidneys is highly desired to help prevent AKI. Here we report molybdenum-based polyoxometalate (POM) nanoclusters with preferential renal uptake as novel nano-antioxidants for kidney protection. These POM nanoclusters, with a readily variable valence state of molybdenum ions, possess the capability to scavenge detrimental ROS. Our results demonstrate that POM nanoclusters can efficiently alleviate clinical symptoms in mice subjected to AKI, as verified by dynamic PET imaging with 68Ga-EDTA, serum tests, kidney tissue staining, and biomarkers detection in the kidneys. The protective effect of POM nanoclusters against AKI in living animals suggests exploring their use for the treatment of AKI patients, as well as patients with other ROS-related diseases. There are currently no effective therapies available for acute kidney injury (AKI).
