The paper is devoted to the development of a high-performance method for registration of the spatial spectra of the sea surface slopes and elevations using air-borne and satellite images to address problems of operational oceanography. The method is based on the use of retrieval operators taking into account the nonlinear nature of the modulation of the brightness field by the slopes of the surface under daylight conditions. The method is implemented in algorithms and research software for the rapid retrieval of the characteristics of the sea surface using satellite images. The developed algorithms were tested and their performance has been estimated using multi-core processors. The performed computational experiments have shown the feasibility of increasing the productivity of recording the spectra of sea surface slopes and elevations from the spectra of satellite images by means of calculation optimization. We provide the examples of the application of the developed high-performance algorithms for processing large amounts of research data during the study of the developing wind waves characteristics in the water areas of the Pacific Ocean.
