O judô é uma arte marcial que possui ações físicas, técnicas e táticas com membros superiores na postura de pé e no chão'. Nesta modalidade, as lesões ocorrem com maior incidência nas extremidades corporais, sendo o complexo do ombro bastante acometido2,3. A ação constante dos membros superiores pode ocasionar sobrecarga articular nos ombros. Este fato pode modificar a biomecánica ideal de movimento. Assim, mensurar a capacidade de desempenho da articulação dos ombros de atletas de judô de elite pode contribuir para a classificação e diferenciação destes atletas. Essa avaliação contribuiria na elaboração de programas de reabilitação e treinamentos específicos, Além de influenciar na diminuição na incidência de lesões em membros superiores. O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar valores do teste CKCUEST por sexo em atletas de judô de elite da categoria sub-21. Trinta e cinco atletas de judô de elite da categoria sub-21 da Seleção Brasileira participaram deste estudo. Dezoito do sexo masculino (19.55 +- 0.65 anos) e dezessete do sexo feminino (18.75 +- 0.05 anos). O Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Stability (CKCUEST) é um teste de desempenho de membros superiores que fornece dados quantitativos para uma tarefa em cadeia cinética fechada4. Os procedimentos estatísticos utilizados foram: Média, desvio padrão, Shapiro Wilk Test e T test (p<0.05). Os seguintes valores foram encontrados: masculino (26.01 +- 4.61) e feminino (30.41 +- 9.14). Como resultados, não foram encontradas diferenças estatísticas, com p=.19. Dessa maneira, a performance dos atletas no CKCUEST foi semelhante em atletas de judô de elite da categoria sub-21. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
