The design of high‐entropy single‐atom catalysts (HESAC) with 5.2 times higher entropy compared to single‐atom catalysts (SAC) is proposed, by using four different metals (FeCoNiRu‐HESAC) for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). Fe active sites with intermetallic distances of 6.1 Å exhibit a low ORR overpotential of 0.44 V, which originates from weakening the adsorption of OH intermediates. Based on density functional theory (DFT) findings, the FeCoNiRu‐HESAC with a nitrogen‐doped sample were synthesized. The atomic structures are confirmed with X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X‐ray absorption (XAS), and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). The predicted high catalytic activity is experimentally verified, finding that FeCoNiRu‐HESAC has overpotentials of 0.41 and 0.37 V with Tafel slopes of 101 and 210 mVdec−1 at the current density of 1 mA cm−2 and the kinetic current densities of 8.2 and 5.3 mA cm−2, respectively, in acidic and alkaline electrolytes. These results are comparable with Pt/C. The FeCoNiRu‐HESAC is used for Zinc–air battery applications with an open circuit potential of 1.39 V and power density of 0.16 W cm−2. Fiber‐based products constitute a significant portion of plastic waste and cause environmental damage. In particular, discarded sanitary masks and fishing gear disintegrate into microfiber plastics, posing a significant threat to human health and ecosystems. In this study, we developed robust biodegradable nanocomposite fibers of poly(butylene adipate‐co‐terephthalate) (PBAT)/cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) (1 and 2 wt%) through dry‐jet wet spinning, by using dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) as a common solvent. The control PBAT fibers exhibit remarkable mechanical performance with tensile strength and toughness of 160.0 MPa and 43.0 MJ m−3, respectively. CNC addition has a toughening effect with slightly reduced strength but enhanced toughness (148.8 MPa and 69.0 MJ m−3, respectively, for 2 wt% CNC); their mechanical performances are superior to those of previously reported PBAT‐based materials. The remarkable performance of the fibers is attributed to a highly oriented structure with a total draw ratio of 15 after post‐hot drawing. The control and nanocomposite fibers exhibit spot‐like patterns in 2D wide‐angle x‐ray diffraction patterns with Herman's orientation factor of 0.54–0.58. The theoretical Hansen solubility parameter confirmed the poor chemical affinity between the PBAT and CNC. Nonetheless, the rheological characterization revealed that well‐dispersed CNCs with DMSO produced a physical network in the PBAT matrix, resulting in the toughening effect. Such robust nanocomposite fibers consisting of fully biodegradable components are promising alternatives to nondegradable nylon and polyester fibers. Fibroblast growth factor (FGF)‐21 analogs are potential therapeutic candidates for metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatohepatitis (MASH). This systematic review and meta‐analysis aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of the FGF‐21 analogs, efruxifermin, pegbelfermin, and pegozafermin for MASH treatment. A comprehensive systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials from five major databases was conducted. Primary efficacy outcomes focused on liver histological improvement, while secondary efficacy outcomes encompassed reductions in liver fat content and improvements in biochemical parameters. Safety outcomes examined included treatment‐emergent adverse events (TEAEs), treatment‐related TEAEs, TEAEs leading to discontinuation, and serious TEAEs. Eight eligible studies involving 963 patients were included in this review. Compared with the placebo group, the FGF‐21 analog‐treated group exhibited significantly improved primary efficacy outcomes, specifically ≥1 stage improvement in fibrosis with no worsening of MASH (risk ratio [RR] = 1.83; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.27–2.62) and at least two‐point improvement in the non‐alcoholic fatty liver disease activity score with no worsening of fibrosis (RR = 2.85; 95% CI = 2.06–3.95). Despite an increased risk of TEAEs (RR = 1.17; 95% CI = 1.08–1.27) and treatment‐related adverse events (RR = 1.75; 95% CI = 1.40–2.19), FGF‐21 analogs exhibited an acceptable safety profile. FGF‐21 analogs were significantly better in achieving liver histological improvements and beneficial biochemical outcomes compared with placebo, with a tolerable safety pattern. Global climate crises are the most significant challenges to be solved these days. As one of the technological endeavors to tackle the issue, radiative cooling is amongst the most attractive approaches for sustainable heat energy regulation, which involves maximizing solar heat reflection and thermal heat emission. These green technologies inevitably require architectural applicability, considering that building facades take a large proportion of the heat‐radiating surfaces. For mass‐production suitability and durability, radiative coolers (RCs) fabricated in a fully ceramic context are recently suggested, featuring scalable, thermally insulative, and non‐shrinking advantages. However, the visual effects are also imperative for architectural instances but are seldom accounted for. In this context, this article suggests the enhanced color‐preserving radiative cooling (ECRC) structure for practical architectural applications of glass‐infiltrated ceramic RCs. By simply blending ceramic pigment into the uppermost porous alumina layer, the ECRC structure can maintain the physical, and thermal features of all‐ceramic RC, while exhibiting color by visible reflectance adjustment. ECRCs exhibit an additional cooling performance of up to ≈17.3 °C depending on their color, compared to their conventional counterparts. With additional chromatic features, ECRC can further enhance the availability of radiative cooling technology for practically realizing the energy‐saving structures in real‐world architectural circumstances. Urea oxidation reaction (UOR) has been utilized to substitute the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), to escalate the energy conversion efficiency in electrochemical hydrogen generation processes with denitrification of widespread urea in wastewater. This study reports breakthroughs in Ni‐based UOR electrocatalysts, particularly with NiFe oxalate (O‐NFF), derived from Ni3Fe alloy foam with prismatic nanostructures and elevated surface area. The O‐NFF achieves cutting‐edge performances, representing 500 mA cm−2 of current density at 1.47 V RHE and exceptionally low Tafel slope of 12.1 mV dec−1 (in 1 m KOH with 0.33 m urea). X‐ray photoelectron/absorption spectroscopy (XPS/XAS) coupled with density functional theory calculations unveil that oxalate ligands induce charge deficient Ni center, promoting stable urea‐O adsorption. Furthermore, Fe dopants enhance oxalate‐O charge density and H‐bond strength, facilitating C‐N cleavage for N2 and NO2− formation. The extraordinary UOR kinetics by the tandem effects of oxalate and Fe prevent Ni over‐oxidation, corroborated by operando XAS, minimizing OER interference. It agrees with an adaptive reconstruction to Fe‐doped β‐NiOOH on top surface in extended urea electrolysis with marginal loss in UOR kinetics. Electrolyte‐gated synaptic transistors (EGSTs) have attracted considerable attention as synaptic devices owing to their adjustable conductance, low power consumption, and multi‐state storage capabilities. To demonstrate high‐density EGST arrays, 2D materials are recommended owing to their excellent electrical properties and ultrathin profile. However, widespread implementation of 2D‐based EGSTs has challenges in achieving large‐area channel growth and finding compatible nanoscale solid electrolytes. This study demonstrates large‐scale process‐compatible, all‐solid‐state EGSTs utilizing molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) channels grown through chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and sub‐30 nm organic‐inorganic hybrid electrolyte polymers synthesized via initiated chemical vapor deposition (iCVD). The iCVD technique enables precise modulation of the hydroxyl group density in the hybrid matrix, allowing the modulation of proton conduction, resulting in adjustable synaptic performance. By leveraging the tunable iCVD‐based hybrid electrolyte, the fabricated EGSTs achieve remarkable attributes: a wide on/off ratio of 109, state retention exceeding 103, and linear conductance updates. Additionally, the device exhibits endurance surpassing 5 × 104 cycles, while maintaining a low energy consumption of 200 fJ/spike. To evaluate the practicality of these EGSTs, a subset of devices is employed in system‐level simulations of MNIST handwritten digit recognition, yielding a recognition rate of 93.2%. The cancer vaccine is one of the potent cancer immunotherapies based on provoking antigen‐specific adaptive immune responses in patients. Activating host antigen‐presenting cells by delivering antigens and adjuvants is one of the most important requirements to enhance cancer vaccine efficacy. This study proposes an effective cancer vaccine platform based on injectable mesocellular foam (MCF) silica microparticles with a dual role capable of in situ recruitment of host dendritic cells (DCs) and intracellular delivery of antigens to the recruited DCs. Subcutaneously administrated MCF microparticles loaded with chemoattractant to DCs (GM‐CSF), antigenic protein (OVA), and TLR9 agonist (CpG‐ODN) lead to robust DC maturation and high antigen‐specific T cell responses. The cell recruitment, DC activation, and T cell responses of MCF‐based cancer vaccine are significantly higher than injectable mesoporous silica scaffold, of which role is mostly limited to the cell recruiting scaffold. These features of MCF lead to effective inhibition of tumor growth in prophylactic vaccine setting and lung metastatic cancer model, representing MCF enabling cell‐recruiting scaffold formation and intracellular delivery of antigen can be a promising material platform for an enhanced cancer vaccine. Substantial endeavors are dedicated to advance the electrochemical performance of Ni‐rich Li[Ni1−x−yCoxMny]O2 (NCM) and Li[Ni1−x−yCoxAly]O2 (NCA) cathode, with a particular focus on doping, aimed at addressing cycling durability and thermal stability of the cathodes. Mn is widely considered an attractive dopant because of its abundance and considerably lower cost than other dopant candidates. However, despite the long history of research, the role of Mn doping remains poorly understood, confined to the historical level, and associated with crystal structural and chemical aspects. Herein, the role of Mn doping beyond its classical role is redefined, particularly in terms of cathode microstructure. Introducing excess Mn during calcination significantly engineers the nano‐ and micro‐level structural features of the peripheral grains of the Li[Ni0.910Co0.079Al0.011]O2 cathode. The microstructural modification achieved by doping with 4 mol% Mn significantly improves the electrochemical cycling performance of the cathode, extending the capacity retention up to 76.5% after 1000 cycles under fast charging conditions (3 C and 45 °C). Hence, by providing an alternative approach to redesign the structural features of the cathode, Mn doping offers a significant step toward the sustainable development of high‐performance Ni‐rich Li[Ni1−x−y−zCoxMnyAlz]O2 (NCMA) cathodes for next‐generation lithium‐ion batteries. Mechanoluminescence (ML) is luminescence induced due to mechanical stress, providing intuitive responses to strain‐related events. Piezoelectricity is the conversion of mechanical strain into electrical signals, offering a quantitative measurement of force/deformation. Combining ML and piezoelectricity within a single device provides a comprehensive understanding of mechanical events, providing qualitative and quantitative information about strain‐related phenomena. A ZnS:Cu/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite and a biocompatible silk fibroin/PDMS composite are prepared to generate ML and electrical signals, respectively. An innovative method for obtaining powder from silk fabrics is employed. The microstructure and composition of silk fibroin powder are also examined via X‐ray diffraction and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Mechanical stimuli such as pressure, stretching, twisting, bending, vibration, and rubbing are applied to the device to demonstrate optical and electrical responses. Under pressure, a voltage of 3.82 V and an output current of 201.6 nA are generated at a force of 1 N. Furthermore, a handwritten test is conducted to qualitatively visualize letters based on ML effects and explore the feasibility of using artificial intelligence to classify voltage signals generated during writing into their corresponding letters. This biocompatible, dual‐modal self‐powered sensor demonstrates broad applicability in wearable technology, biomechanics, human–machine interaction, security, and energy harvesting. The effects of red light‐emitting diode (LED) light irradiation (630 nm, 0.5 W/m2) and melatonin (10−8 and 10−7 M) on oxidative stress and physiological responses in abalones exposed to high temperatures (28°C) were investigated. Changes in messenger RNA (mRNA) expressions of melatonin receptor (MT‐R), heat shock protein 70 (HSP70), and antioxidant enzymes, as well as alterations in H2O2 levels in the hemolymph, were examined. The results revealed that high‐temperature‐stressed abalones treated with melatonin injections or exposed to red LED light showed a significant increase in MT‐R mRNA expression, while HSP70 mRNA expression decreased. Notably, HSP70 mRNA expression levels in the red LED light‐irradiated group were similar to those in the group injected with 10−8 M melatonin after 24 h exposure. Abalones treated with melatonin at 20°C or irradiated with red LED light exhibited decreased H2O2 levels and reduced antioxidant enzyme mRNA expression compared with those of the control group. However, the high‐temperature environment induced oxidative stress in abalones, leading to increased antioxidant enzyme mRNA expression compared with that under 20°C conditions. Moreover, abalones exposed to high‐temperature stress exhibited hepatopancreatic DNA damage, which was attenuated by melatonin treatment or red LED light irradiation. Hence, red LED light reduces oxidative stress, boosts antioxidant enzymes, and alleviates DNA damage in high‐temperature‐stressed abalones, akin to 10−8 M melatonin treatment. Therefore, considering the practical challenges of continuous melatonin administration to abalones, utilizing red LED light emerges as a practical, effective alternative to protect abalones from oxidative stress compared to 10−8 M melatonin treatment. A study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a topical emollient in treating mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis (AD) in adolescents and adults. The study involved 100 participants and lasted for 24 weeks. The results showed that the group using the emollient had significant improvements in various measures compared to the placebo group. No safety concerns were reported. However, the study had limitations and further research is needed to explore other aspects of AD and the effects of the emollient. Functional diversity research enhances our understanding of ecosystems and both their functioning and their responses to environmental variations. This study investigated the biological trait responses of benthic invertebrate communities to various environmental conditions in estuarine habitats. We analyzed benthic macroinvertebrate communities in freshwater and estuarine environments to compare their characteristics between estuary sites with and without artificial barriers. Moreover, we combined taxonomic analyses (species richness, abundance, and four community indices) with functional diversity indices and biological trait analyses. The major results are as follows: (i) the most important environmental factors shaping species distribution in estuarine habitats were salinity and electrical conductivity; (ii) comparing functional diversity indices, tidal estuaries revealed that seawater intrusion induced changes in species distribution and the dispersion of benthic macroinvertebrates; (iii) the presence or absence of artificial barriers in estuaries affected biological traits owing to the influence of specific functional strategies of certain species. Consequently, the presence or absence of artificial barriers in estuaries can lead to significant changes in habitat connectivity and functional diversity related to ecosystem functions. These findings indicate that the presence of artificial barriers can significantly influence the ecological dynamics of estuarine ecosystems, thereby affecting species distribution, functional diversity and habitat connectivity. Understanding these effects contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of ecosystem functionings, as it complements existing taxonomic findings and integrates information about the functional aspects of diverse ecosystems. Electrocatalytic CO2‐to‐formate conversion is considered an economically viable process. In general, Zn‐based nanomaterials are well‐known to be highly efficient electrocatalysts for the conversion of CO2 to CO, but seldom do they exhibit excellent selectivity toward formate. In this article, we demonstrate that a heterointerface catalyst ZnO/ZnSnO3 with nanosheet morphology shows enhanced selectivity with a maximum Faradaic efficiency (FE) of 86% at −0.9 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode and larger current density for the conversion of CO2 to formate than pristine ZnO and ZnSnO3. In particular, the FEs of the C1 products (CO + HCOO−) exceed 98% over the potential window. The experimental measurements combined with theoretical calculations revealed that the ZnO in ZnO/ZnSnO3 heterojunction delivers the valence electron depletion and accordingly optimizes Zn d‐band center, which results in moderate Zn–O hybridization of HCOO* and weakened Zn–C hybridization of competing COOH*, thus greatly boosting the HCOOH generation. Objectives: This study examined diagnostic profiles and trauma history among treatment‐seeking young adults with positive PTSD screens in public mental health care. Methods: Screening for trauma history and PTSD symptoms was implemented in a community mental health service system. 266 treatment‐seeking young adults (aged 18–35) endorsed trauma exposure with a score of at least 45 on the DSM‐IV PTSD Checklist, indicating probable PTSD. Results: Young adults with positive PTSD screens were predominantly female, minority, and diagnosed with mood disorders. Of those with positive screens, only 15% had a chart diagnosis of PTSD; 17.3% (ages 18–24) versus 14.1% (ages 25–35). Variables significantly associated with a decreased likelihood of PTSD detection included a diagnosis of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, exposure to fewer types of traumatic events, male gender, and white race. Conclusion: Routine PTSD screening for young adults receiving public mental health care should be prioritized to address long‐term impacts of trauma. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Community treatment of hypertension in sub‐Saharan Africa is hampered by gaps at several stages of the care cascade. We compared blood pressure (BP) levels (systolic, diastolic and pulse pressures) in four groups of participants by hypertension and treatment status. We conducted a nationally representative survey of adults 35 years and older using a multistage sampling strategy based on the 2013 Gambia Population and Housing Census. The BP measurements were taken in triplicate 5 min apart, and the average of the last two measurements was used for analysis. Systolic and diastolic BP levels and pulse pressure were compared by hypertension status using mean and 95% confidence intervals (CI). 53.1% of the sample were normotensive with mean systolic BP (SBP) of 119.2 mmHg (95% CI, 118.7–119.6) and diastolic BP (DBP) of 78.1 mmHg (77.8–78.3). Among individuals with hypertension, mean SBP was 148.7 mmHg (147.7–149.7) among those unaware of their hypertension, 152.2 mmHg (151.0–153.5) among treated individuals and was highest in untreated individuals at 159.3 mmHg (157.3–161.2). The findings were similar for DBP levels, being 93.9 mmHg (93.4–94.4) among the unaware, 95.1 mmHg (94.4–95.8) among the treated and highest at 99.1 mmHg (98.1–100.2) in untreated participants. SBP and DBP were higher in men, and SBP was as expected higher in those aged ≥55 years. BP level was similar in urban and rural areas. Our data shows high BP levels among participants with hypertension including those receiving treatment. SUMMARY: Arabidopsis thaliana WRKY proteins are potential targets of pathogen‐secreted effectors. RESISTANT TO RALSTONIA SOLANACEARUM 1 (RRS1; AtWRKY52) is a well‐studied Arabidopsis nucleotide‐binding and leucine‐rich repeat (NLR) immune receptor carrying a C‐terminal WRKY domain that functions as an integrated decoy. RRS1‐R recognizes the effectors AvrRps4 from Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi and PopP2 from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum by direct interaction through its WRKY domain. AvrRps4 and PopP2 were previously shown to interact with several AtWRKYs. However, how these effectors selectively interact with their virulence targets remains unknown. Here, we show that several members of subgroup IIIb of the AtWRKY family are targeted by AvrRps4 and PopP2. We demonstrate that several AtWRKYs induce cell death when transiently expressed in Nicotiana benthamiana, indicating the activation of immune responses. AtWRKY54 was the only cell death‐inducing AtWRKY that interacted with both AvrRps4 and PopP2. We found that AvrRps4 and PopP2 specifically suppress AtWRKY54‐induced cell death. We also demonstrate that the amino acid residues required for the avirulence function of AvrRps4 and PopP2 are critical for suppressing AtWRKY54‐induced cell death. AtWRKY54 residues predicted to form a binding interface with AvrRps4 were predominantly located in the DNA binding domain and necessary for inducing cell death. Notably, one AtWRKY54 residue, E164, contributes to affinity with AvrRps4 and is exclusively present among subgroup IIIb AtWRKYs, yet is located outside of the DNA‐binding domain. Surprisingly, AtWRKY54 mutated at E164 evaded AvrRps4‐mediated cell death suppression. Taking our observations together, we propose that AvrRp4 and PopP2 specifically target AtWRKY54 to suppress plant immune responses. Fexuprazan, a novel potassium‐competitive acid blocker, is expected to be used for the prevention of nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) induced ulcer. This study aimed to evaluate pharmacokinetic (PK) interactions between fexuprazan and NSAIDs in healthy subjects. A randomized, open‐label, multicenter, six‐sequence, one‐way crossover study was conducted in healthy male subjects. Subjects randomly received one of the study drugs (fexuprazan 40 mg BID, celecoxib 200 mg BID, naproxen 500 mg BID, or meloxicam 15 mg QD) for 5 or 7 days in the first period followed by the combination of fexuprazan and one of NSAIDs for the same days and the perpetrator additionally administered for 1–2 days in the second period. Serial blood samples for PK analysis were collected until 48‐ or 72‐h post‐dose at steady state. PK parameters including maximum plasma concentration at steady state (Cmax,ss) and area under plasma concentration–time curve over dosing interval at steady state (AUCτ,ss) were compared between monotherapy and combination therapy. The PKs of NSAIDs were not significantly altered by fexuprazan. For fexuprazan, differences in PK parameters (22% in Cmax, 19% in AUCτ,ss) were observed when co‐administered with naproxen, but not clinically significant. The geometric mean ratio (90% confidence interval) of combination therapy to monotherapy for Cmax,ss and AUCτ,ss was 1.22 (1.02–1.46) and 1.19 (1.00–1.43), respectively. Mitigating sepsis‐induced severe organ dysfunction with magnetic nanoparticles has shown remarkable advances in extracorporeal blood treatment. Nevertheless, treating large septic animals remains challenging due to insufficient magnetic separation at rapid blood flow rates (>6 L h−1) and limited incubation time in an extracorporeal circuit. Herein, superparamagnetic nanoclusters (SPNCs) coated with red blood cell (RBC) membranes are developed, which promptly capture and magnetically separate a wide range of pathogens at high blood flow rates in a swine sepsis model. The SPNCs exhibited an ultranarrow size distribution of clustered iron oxide nanocrystals and exceptionally high saturation magnetization (≈ 90 emu g−1) close to that of bulk magnetite. It is also revealed that CD47 on the RBCs allows the RBC‐SPNCs to remain at a consistent concentration in the blood by evading innate immunity. The uniform size distribution of the RBC‐SPNCs greatly enhances their effectiveness in eradicating various pathogenic materials in extracorporeal blood. The use of RBC‐SPNCs for extracorporeal treatment of swine infected with multidrug‐resistant E. coli is validated and found that severe bacteremic sepsis‐induced organ dysfunction is significantly mitigated after 12 h. Amino‐single benzene‐based fluorophores (SBBFs) are representative small‐size fluorescent dyes that have an electron push‐pull structure within the benzene core. In this work, a new library of amino‐SBBFs, which have trifluoroacetyl moiety at the electron‐pushing amine group (named SBBF‐TFA), featuring a variety of methylamines, dimethylamines, as well as acetyl. To explore the SBBF‐TFA library, we conducted (i) library synthesis, (ii) assessment of various photophysical properties in nine different types of organic/aqueous solvents, and (iii) evaluation of cytotoxicity in the HeLa cell line. We believe that our findings provide valuable insights for advancing novel small‐molecule fluorescent probes and materials with diverse applications across pharmacochemical fields. Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder associated with various systemic and ocular complications. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence, risk factors, and clinical characteristics of ocular complications in a cohort of Korean AD patients. Methods: A retrospective review of medical records was conducted for AD patients who visited the dermatology and ophthalmology clinics at the same institution. Demographic data, clinical characteristics, and types of ocular complications were recorded. Logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with ocular complications. Results: A total of 212 AD patients were included in the study. The intraocular complications had a prevalence of 1.9%, whereas ocular surface diseases were observed more frequently, with prevalence of 13.2%. Among the ocular complications, blepharitis was the most prevalent, followed by atopic keratoconjunctivitis. Subcapsular cataract, atrophic hole, and retinal detachment were also observed. The head and neck score in the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI) emerged as a significant predictor for intraocular complications, independent of age, gender, total EASI score, and family history. No significant association was found between total EASI score and ocular surface disease. Conclusion: This study provides insights into the prevalence and risk factors of ocular complications in Korean AD patients. The head and neck score in EASI was identified as a significant predictor for intraocular complications. These findings emphasize the importance of comprehensive evaluation and interdisciplinary care for AD patients, particularly in identifying and managing potential vision‐threatening complications. Oxidative alkene functionalization reactions are a fundamental class of complexity‐building organic transformations. However, the majority of established approaches rely on electrophilic reagents that limit the diversity of groups that can be installed. Recent advances have established a new approach that instead relies on the transformation of alkenes into thianthrene‐derived cationic electrophiles. These linchpin intermediates can be generated selectively and undergo a diverse array of mechanistically distinct reactions with abundant nucleophiles. Taken together, this unlocks a suite of net oxidative alkene transformations that have been elusive using conventional strategies. This Minireview describes these advances and is organized around the three distinct synthons formally accessible from alkenes via thianthrenation: 1) alkenyl cations; 2) vicinal dications; 3) allyl cations. Throughout the Minireview, we illustrate how thianthrenium salts address key limitations endemic to classic alkene‐derived electrophiles and highlight the mechanistic origins of these distinctions wherever possible. Background: Hair cycle arrest (HCA) is a chronic alopecic disorder in dogs. Clinical responses vary and are often insufficient. Microneedling (MN) has been used as a successful treatment for HCA in dogs; ideal protocols have not yet been established. Objectives: The objective of the study was to compare the efficacy and safety of three needle lengths for MN in dogs with HCA. Animals: Six unrelated client‐owned dogs, including five Pomeranians and one mixed‐breed dog, diagnosed with HCA. Materials and Methods: Individual alopecic sites were divided into three sections. For each section, different lengths of needles (1, 2 and 3 mm) were used. Efficacy and safety were evaluated at 1, 3 and 6 months. Treated sections were monitored for 20 months. Results: Three months after treatment with 3 mm needles, all sections showed hair regrowth. There was no hair regrowth in two of six sections treated with 2 mm needles, and four of six sections did not show a response to treatment with 1 mm needles. Two dogs developed transient pruritus. Five of six dogs had recurrent hair loss between 5 and 16 months of follow‐up. Conclusion and Clinical Relevance: Microneedling using longer needles stimulated better hair regrowth in dogs with HCA. The immediate and well‐documented benefits of carbohydrate restriction include improved glycemic control in individuals with diabetes mellitus. Starch, a significant source of carbohydrates, is categorized as rapidly digestible, slowly digestible, or resistant starch (RS). RS, which is a non‐viscous fermentable fiber, has shown promise in animal studies for antidiabetic effects by improving glucose metabolism. Although the exact mechanism by which RS affects glucose metabolism remains unclear, it is expected to positively impact glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity. The fermentation of RS by colonic microbiota in the large bowel produces short‐chain fatty acids, which exert multiple metabolic effects on glucose regulation and homeostasis. Moreover, RS may influence glucose metabolism via bile acid modulation, independent of its fermentation. Diets rich in RS could aid in blood glucose homeostasis. However, it is uncertain whether they can alter the metabolic pathology associated with glucose regulation. In essence, RS has the potential to lower postprandial glucose levels similarly to a low‐glycemic index diet. Yet, its efficacy as a medical nutrition therapy for type 2 diabetes needs further investigation. To confirm the role of RS in glycemic control and to possibly recommend it as an additional dietary approach for people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, a well‐designed, large‐scale intervention is required. Robots epitomize one of the most popular human imaginations that are evolving to become reality in the most pervasive way. Especially with the rise of artificial intelligence, it is more hopeful than ever that robots one day will be the interactive companions with some degree of emotion. A variety of robots in different forms with considerable mobility are available today. Among them, legged robots are the most attractive due to their dexterity, traversal versatility, functional modularity, and locomotive stability. Legged robots like robotic dogs can survey unchartered territories in uncertain environments. In this comprehensive review article, the status quo of this emerging and exciting field and how electronics of various form factors can functionalize them in an unbiased manner are surveyed and discussed. Different accessories currently available for quadrupedal robots, wearable devices potentially integratable with these robots, data management/integration strategies for reliable interfacing, and future outlook are discussed. Primary cutaneous malignancies are among the most commonly diagnosed types of cancer worldwide. We aimed to examine the incidence and 5‐year survival rates of all types of primary cutaneous malignancies in the Korean population. Data from the Korean Nationwide Cancer Registry from 1999 to 2019 were analyzed. The crude incidence rates, age‐standardized incidence rates, and 5‐year relative survival rates of each type of skin cancer were calculated. A total of 89 965 patients were diagnosed with primary cutaneous malignancies, which was a 7‐fold increase from 1999 to 2019. The age‐standardized incidence rates increased 3.4‐fold in basal cell carcinoma (3.7/100 000 person‐years), 2.0‐fold in squamous cell carcinoma (1.6/100 000 person‐years), 12.0‐fold in Bowen disease (1.2/100 000 person‐years), and 1.8‐fold in malignant melanoma (0.7/10 000 person‐years) in 2019. Average annual percentage changes in age‐standardized incidence rates were statistically significant in basal cell carcinoma (15.8%), Bowen disease (5.8%), squamous cell carcinoma (5.1%), malignant melanoma (1.2%), melanoma in situ (1.1%), dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (1.2%), mycosis fungoides (0.5%), primary cutaneous CD30+ T‐cell proliferations (0.5%), adnexal and skin appendage carcinoma (0.4%), extramammary Paget's disease (0.2%), and Merkel cell carcinoma (0.2%). The 5‐year relative survival rates were the highest in basal cell carcinoma (103.3%), followed by dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (99.7%) and mycosis fungoides (96.6%), and lowest in angiosarcoma (24.7%). The 5‐year relative survival rates steadily increased in extramammary Paget's disease (23.6%), cutaneous B‐cell lymphoma (21.3%), mycosis fungoides (20.2%), extranodal NK/T‐cell lymphoma, nasal type (18.1%), and malignant melanoma (16.1%) from 1996–2000 to 2015–2019. Vaccine‐associated multiple sclerosis (MS) is rare, with insufficient evidence from case reports. Given the scarcity of large‐scale data investigating the association between vaccine administration and adverse events, we investigated the global burden of vaccine‐associated MS and potential related vaccines from 1967 to 2022. Reports on vaccine‐associated MS between 1967 and 2022 were obtained from the World Health Organization International Pharmacovigilance Database (total number of reports = 120 715 116). We evaluated global reports, reporting odds ratio (ROR), and information components (IC) to investigate associations between 19 vaccines and vaccine‐associated MS across 156 countries and territories. We identified 8288 reports of vaccine‐associated MS among 132 980 cases of all‐cause MS. The cumulative number of reports on vaccine‐associated MS gradually increased over time, with a substantial increase after 2020, owing to COVID‐19 mRNA vaccine‐associated MS. Vaccine‐associated MS develops more frequently in males and adolescents. Nine vaccines were significantly associated with higher MS reporting, and the highest disproportional associations were observed for hepatitis B vaccines (ROR 19.82; IC025 4.18), followed by encephalitis (ROR 7.42; IC025 2.59), hepatitis A (ROR 4.46; IC025 1.95), and papillomavirus vaccines (ROR 4.45; IC025 2.01). Additionally, MS showed a significantly disproportionate signal for COVID‐19 mRNA vaccines (ROR 1.55; IC025 0.52). Fatal clinical outcomes were reported in only 0.3% (21/8288) of all cases of vaccine‐associated MS. Although various vaccines are potentially associated with increased risk of MS, we should be cautious about the increased risk of MS following vaccination, particularly hepatitis B and COVID‐19 mRNA vaccines, and should consider the risk factors associated with vaccine‐associated MS. The SARS‐CoV‐2 caused COVID‐19 pandemic has posed a global health hazard. While some vaccines have been developed, protection against viral infection is not perfect because of the urgent approval process and the emergence of mutant SARS‐CoV‐2 variants. Here, we employed UDCA as an FXR antagonist to regulate ACE2 expression, which is one of the key pathways activated by SARS‐CoV‐2 Delta variant infection. UDCA is a well‐known reagent of liver health supplements and the only clinically approved bile acid. In this paper, we investigated the protective efficacy of UDCA on Omicron variation, since it has previously been verified for protection against Delta variant. When co‐housing with an Omicron variant‐infected hamster group resulted in spontaneous airborne transmission, the UDCA pre‐supplied group was protected from weight loss relative to the non‐treated group at 4 days post‐infection by more than 5%–10%. Furthermore, UDCA‐treated groups had a 3‐fold decrease in ACE2 expression in nasal cavities, as well as reduced viral expressing genes in the respiratory tract. Here, the data show that the UDCA serves an alternative option for preventive drug, providing SARS‐CoV‐2 protection against not only Delta but also Omicron variant. Essential oils derived from plants are major ingredients in the medical and cosmetic industry. Here, we evaluated nine types of plant essential oils to identify potential candidates with antioxidant and elasticity‐enhancing properties. Seven essential oils showed at least 10% radical scavenging activity at the highest concentration. Essential oils extracted from Aster glehnii, Cinnamomum cassia, Citrus unshiu, Juniperus chinensis L., and Juniperus chinensis var. sargentii significantly enhanced fibroblast viability, and oils from Cit. unshiu, J. chinensis L., and J. chinensis var. sargentii significantly increased cell proliferation and migration. Expression of extracellular matrix proteins, including collagen 1, collagen 3, and elastin, were upregulated by J. chinensis L. and J. chinensis var. sargentii oil, which also significantly enhanced the contractile activity of skin cells in a three‐dimensional gel contraction assay. The results suggest that J. chinensis L. and J. chinensis var. sargentii essential oils may be potential anti‐wrinkling and anti‐oxidative agents for future consideration of use in the medical and cosmetic industry. Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) mutations in circulating tumor deoxyribonucleic acid (ctDNA) have been reported as representative noninvasive prognostic markers for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Here, we aimed to evaluate single KRAS mutations as prognostic and predictive biomarkers, with an emphasis on potential therapeutic approaches to PDAC. A total of 128 patients were analyzed for multiple or single KRAS mutations (G12A, G12C, G12D, G12R, G12S, G12V, and G13D) in their tumors and plasma using droplet digital polymerase chain reaction (ddPCR). Overall, KRAS mutations were detected by multiplex ddPCR in 119 (93%) of tumor DNA and 68 (53.1%) of ctDNA, with a concordance rate of 80% between plasma ctDNA and tumor DNA in the metastatic stage, which was higher than the 44% in the resectable stage. Moreover, the prognostic prediction of both overall survival (OS) and progression‐free survival (PFS) was more relevant using plasma ctDNA than tumor DNA. Further, we evaluated the selective tumor‐suppressive efficacy of the KRAS G12C inhibitor sotorasib in a patient‐derived organoid (PDO) from a KRAS G12C‐mutated patient using a patient‐derived xenograft (PDX) model. Sotorasib showed selective inhibition in vitro and in vivo with altered tumor microenvironment, including fibroblasts and macrophages. Collectively, screening for KRAS single mutations in plasma ctDNA and the use of preclinical models of PDO and PDX with genetic mutations would impact precision medicine in the context of PDAC. Cigarette smoke induces an inflammatory response in the lungs by recruiting inflammatory cells, leading to lung diseases such as lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pulmonary fibrosis. Existing inhalation exposure methods for assessing the adverse effects of cigarette smoke require expensive equipment and are labor‐intensive. Therefore, we attempted to develop a novel method to assess these adverse effects using intratracheal instillation (ITI) of whole cigarette smoke condensate (WCSC). The WCSC (0, 5, 10, or 20 mg/mL) was administered by ITI once daily for 6 or 12 days using an automatic video instillator. Repeated WCSC ITI increased the lung weight, and monocyte chemoattractant protein‐1 (MCP‐1), neutrophil, and lymphocyte levels within bronchoalveolar lavage fluid compared to the control. In the histopathological analysis of the lung tissue, a mild inflammatory response was observed in the 6 and 12 days 20 mg/mL WCSC exposure groups. The genome‐wide RNA‐seq expression patterns revealed that inflammatory and immune response‐related genes, such as the chemokine signaling pathway, Th1/Th2 cell differentiation, and cytokine‐cytokine receptor interaction, were employed following WCSC exposure. In addition, MCP‐1 was time‐dependent and increased in the 10 mg/mL exposure group compared to the control group. These results suggested that the WCSC might induce the potential pulmonary inflammatory response. Furthermore, we proposed that ITI may be a rapid and effective method of evaluating the adverse effects of WCSC within a short exposure period (less than 2 weeks), and it can be used to evaluate cigarette inhalation toxicity studies as an alternative method. Although great efforts on the delicate construction of a built‐in electric field (BIEF) to modify the electronic properties of active sites have been conducted, the substantial impact of BIEF coupled with electrode potential on the electrochemical reactions has not been clearly investigated. Herein, we designed an alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalyst composed of heterogeneous Ru−CoP urchin arrays on carbon cloth (Ru−CoP/CC) with a strong BIEF with the guidance of density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Impressively, despite its unsatisfactory activity at 10 mA cm−2 (overpotential of 44 mV), Ru−CoP/CC exhibited better activity (357 mV) than the benchmark Pt/C catalyst (505 mV) at 1 A cm−2. Experimental and theoretical studies revealed that strong hydrogen adsorption on the interfacial Ru atoms created a high energy barrier for hydrogen desorption and spillover, resulting in unsatisfactory activity at low current densities. However, as the electrode potential became more negative (i.e. the current density increased), the barrier for hydrogen spillover from the interfacial Ru to the Co site, which had near‐zero hydrogen adsorption energy, significantly decreased, thus greatly accelerating the whole alkaline HER process. Fast charging technology for electric vehicles (EVs), offering rapid charging times similar to conventional vehicle refueling, holds promise but faces obstacles owing to kinetic issues within lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Specifically, the significance of cathode materials in fast charging has grown because Ni‐rich cathodes are employed to enhance the energy density of LIBs. Herein, the mechanism behind the loss of fast charging capability of Ni‐rich cathodes during extended cycling is investigated through a comparative analysis of Ni‐rich cathodes with different microstructures. The results revealed that microcracks and the resultant cathode deterioration significantly compromised the fast charging capability over extended cycling. When thick rocksalt impurity phases form throughout the particles owing to electrolyte infiltration via microcracks, the limited kinetics of Li+ ions create electrochemically unreactive areas under high‐current conditions, resulting in the loss of fast charging capability. Hence, preventing microcrack formation by tailoring microstructures is essential to ensure stability in fast charging capability. Understanding the relationship between microcracks and the loss of fast charging capability is essential for developing Ni‐rich cathodes that facilitate stable fast charging upon extended cycling, thereby promoting widespread EV adoption. Purpose: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary disease (CTEPD) can lead to exercise limitations even without right ventricular (RV) dysfunction or pulmonary hypertension at rest. Combining exercise stress echocardiography with cardiopulmonary exercise testing (ESE‐CPET) for RV function and pressure changes combined measuring overall function may be useful for CTEPD evaluation. This study aims to investigate CPET and ESE results to elucidate the mechanisms of exercise limitation in mild CTEPD cases. Methods: Among our CTEPD registry, 50 patients who performed both right heart catheterization data of mild disease (less than 30 mm Hg of mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP)) and ESE‐CPET were enrolled. Echocardiography and CPET‐derived parameters were compared with hemodynamic parameters measured through right heart catheterization. Results: Peak VO2 (maximal oxygen consumption) was decreased in overall population (71.3 ± 16.3% of predictive value). Peak VO2 during exercise was negatively correlate with mPAP and pulmonary vascular resistance at rest. A substantial increase in RV systolic pressure (RVSP) was observed during exercise (RVSP: pre‐exercise 37.2 ± 11.8 mm Hg, postexercise 64.3 ± 24.9 mm Hg, p‐value <.001). Furthermore, RV function deteriorated during exercise when compared to the baseline (RV fractional area change: 31.5 ± 10.0% to 37.8 ± 7.0%, p‐value <.001; RV global longitudinal strain: −17.1 ± 4.2% to −17.7 ± 3.3%, p‐value <.001) even though basal RV function was normal. While an excessive increase in RVSP during exercise was noticed in both groups, dilated RV and RV dysfunction during exercise were demonstrated only in the impaired exercise capacity group. Conclusion: CTEPD patients with mild PH or without PH exhibited limited exercise capacity alongside an excessive increase in RVSP during exercise. Importantly, RV dysfunction during exercise was significantly associated with exercise capacity. ESE‐CPET could aid in comprehending the primary cause of exercise limitation in these patients. Background: Hair loss occurs due to various biological and environmental causes, which can have psychosocial consequences. The Wnt/β‐catenin signaling is well‐known for its role in hair growth and regeneration, as it induces the proliferation and differentiation of hair cells. When the leucine‐rich G protein‐coupled receptor 5 (Lgr5) interacts with the R‐spondins, the frizzled receptor (FZD), a Wnt receptor, becomes stabilized, resulting in an increased β‐catenin activity. Aim: We investigated whether the octapeptide that binds to Lgr5 enhances proliferation and differentiation of human primary hair cells through the activation of Wnt/β‐catenin signaling. Methods: The binding affinity of the octapeptide to Lgr5 was evaluated using surface plasmon resonance (SPR). We confirmed changes in proliferation and related factors like β‐catenin activation and growth factors (GFs) expression in human hair follicle dermal papilla cells (HHFDPCs). Additionally, we observed the proliferation and the expression of differentiation markers in human hair follicle outer root sheath cells (HHFORSCs), human hair follicle germinal matrix cells (HHFGMCs), and human hair follicle stem cells (HHFSCs). We used three‐dimensional HHFDPC spheroid culture treated with dihydrotestosterone (DHT) to create in vitro conditions that mimic androgenetic alopecia, and we studied the effects of octapeptide on Wnt expression and HHFSC differentiation. Results: The binding of the octapeptide to Lgr5 was confirmed using SPR analysis. In HHFDPCs, treatment with octapeptide resulted in a concentration‐dependent increase in proliferation. We also observed increased nuclear translocation of β‐catenin and increased expression of its downstream targets. HHFDPCs treated with octapeptide exhibited increased expression of growth factors and phosphorylation of Akt and ERK. In addition, we confirmed that octapeptide increased proliferation and induced differentiation in HHFORSCs, HHFGMCs, and HHFSCs. Under the HHFDPC spheroid culture conditions, we found that octapeptide restored the inhibition of Wnt‐5a and Wnt‐10b expressions by DHT. In HHFSCs treated with HHFDPC spheroid culture media, we observed that octapeptide recovered the inhibition of differentiation by DHT. Conclusion: We found that octapeptides activated the Wnt/β‐catenin signaling and induced the proliferation and differentiation of human primary hair cells by acting as an exogenous ligand for Lgr5. In addition, octapeptides recovered inhibited hair regeneration characters by DHT in androgenetic alopecia‐mimic in vitro model. Summary: Bariatric surgery can cause numerous functional changes to recipients, some of which are unintended. However, a systematic evaluation of wide‐angled health benefits and risks following bariatric surgery has not been conducted. We systematically evaluated published systematic reviews of randomized controlled trials and observational studies reporting the association between bariatric surgery and health outcomes. We performed subgroup analyses by surgery type and sensitivity analysis, excluding gastric band. Thirty systematic reviews and 82 meta‐analyzed health outcomes were included in this review. A total of 66 (80%) health outcomes were significantly associated with bariatric surgery, of which 10 were adverse outcomes, including suicide, fracture, gastroesophageal reflux after sleeve gastrectomy, and neonatal morbidities. The other 56 outcomes were health benefits including new‐onset diabetes mellitus (DM) (odds ratio [OR] = 0.39; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.19–0.79), hypertension (OR = 0.36; 95% CI = 0.33–0.40), dyslipidemia (OR = 0.33; 95% CI = 0.14–0.81), cancers (OR = 0.65; 95% CI = 0.53–0.80), cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), and women's health. Surgery is associated with reductions in all‐cause mortality and death due to cancer, DM, and CVD. Bariatric surgery has both beneficial and harmful effects on a broader than expected array of patients' health outcomes. Cholesteric liquid crystal elastomers (CLCEs) are unique anisotropic rubbers that can change their structural color in response to various stimuli such as heat, chemicals, electric fields, and mechanical stress. Methods such as anisotropic deswelling and surface alignment have been adopted to prepare CLCEs; however, they have limitations in creating spatially controlled CLCE geometries. In this work, a direct ink writing (DIW)‐based 3D‐printable CLCE that can be prepared by extruding viscous CLC ink is developed through a 3D printer nozzle, followed by photopolymerization. Interestingly, the helical axis is inclined to the printing direction by ≈32° due to a combination of the shear‐induced alignment causes during extrusion and the elongational force generated during deposition onto the substrate. This unusual helical axis distortion leads to both blue and red shifts of the reflection color depending on the direction of observation relative to the printing axis. Notably, the printed CLCE exhibits anisotropic mechanochromism upon stretching, because of the stretching‐direction‐dependent variations in the slant angle of the helical axis. This anisotropic mechanochromism can be harnessed to develop a unique CLCE‐based strain sensor displaying intricate color patterns upon stretching, with significant application potential in encryption, anticounterfeiting, and structural health monitoring. Brain‐inspired neuromorphic computing has been developed as a potential candidate for solving the von Neumann bottleneck of traditional computing systems. 2D materials‐based memristors have been exponentially investigated as promising building blocks of neuromorphic computing because of their excellent electrical performance, simple structure, and small device scale. However, while many researchers have focused on looking into individual artificial neuromorphic devices based on memristors, only few studies on the integration of artificial neuron and synaptic devices have been reported. In this work, both volatile and nonvolatile memristors are fabricated by using a 2D hexagonal boron nitride film for artificial neuron and synaptic devices, respectively. The leaky‐integrate‐and‐fire neuron performance and synaptic functions (e.g., synaptic weight plasticity and spike‐timing‐dependent plasticity) are well emulated with the fabricated volatile and nonvolatile devices. The MNIST image classification is conducted based on the experimental data. For the first time, an artificial neuron‐synapse‐neuron neural network is physically constructed using the artificial neuron and synaptic devices to mimic the biological neural networks. The synaptic connection strength modulation is experimentally demonstrated between the neurons depending on the conductance state of the synapse, paving the way for the development of large‐scale neural network hardware. Aims: To evaluate the validity and reliability of the self‐care behaviour scale for patients with left ventricular assist devices. Design: Methodological study. Methods: The English version of the scale was translated into Korean, and it was then back‐translated into English. Survey data were collected from 32 patients with left ventricular assist device in South Korea, and construct validity, content validity and reliability were analysed. Results: The original self‐care behaviour scale comprises three domains and 33 items, whereas the Korean self‐care behaviour scale comprises 27 items and five domains: device management, wound management, symptom monitoring, activated healthcare system and self‐care management. Cronbach's alpha for the overall scale was 0.94, and that for the five domains ranged from 0.36 to 0.90. The intraclass correlation coefficient for the overall scale was 0.89, and the five domains ranged from 0.71 to 0.88. Conclusion: The newly evaluated scale would be valid and reliable in measure self‐care behaviour for patients with a left ventricular assist device. Implications for the profession and/or patient care: Patients can manage the left ventricular assist device on their own based on evidence and use it as a tool for effective communication with medical professionals. Introduction: Spinal deformities, including kyphoscoliosis, have been consistently documented in cetaceans. However, the majority of reported cases of kyphoscoliosis in cetaceans pertain to bottlenose dolphins, with limited information on its occurrence in narrow‐ridged finless porpoise (NFP) (Neophocaena asiaeorientalis). Materials and methods: In November 2021, two deceased NFPs were discovered stranded on the shores of the Republic of Korea. As part of the pioneer stranded cetacean imaging programme in the Republic of Korea, both carcasses underwent post‐mortem computed tomography (PMCT), revealing congenital and degenerative traumatic kyphoscoliosis, respectively. Results: Although kyphoscoliosis may not have directly caused the demise of these individuals, it is hypothesized that the reduced spinal range of motion and mobility associated with kyphoscoliosis may have contributed to their deaths. Conclusion: This case report presents the first documented cases of kyphoscoliosis in two NFPs stranded in Korean waters, utilizing PMCT as an efficient methodology for assessing skeletal abnormalities in cetaceans. Background: It may be challenging for practitioners to secure vascular access in animals, especially in a state of shock. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical relevance of commercial 16‐gauge intravenous (IV) catheter stylet vs. 15‐gauge intraosseous (IO) vascular access in emergencies. Methods: Six healthy dogs were used in this study. After general anaesthesia, IO catheterisation was performed on both trochanteric fossae of the femurs using a commercial 16‐gauge IV catheter stylet and EZIO 15‐gauge IO needle. The pressures were measured by manual, gravity and mechanical infusion for 5 min each. Additionally, insertion time and success rate were recorded. Results: In hand infusion, mean pressure of a 16‐gauge IO (605.06 ± 49.13 mmHg) was statistically lower than that of a 15‐gauge EZIO IO catheterisation (718.84 ± 93.09 mmHg). In gravity infusion, there was no significant difference in pressure during injection between the 16‐gauge IV catheter (52.23 ± 14.48 mmHg) and 15‐gauge EZIO IO catheterisation (50.68 ± 11.89 mmHg). In mechanical infusion, mean pressure of the 15‐gauge EZIO IO catheterisation (128.25 ± 50.16 mmHg) was lower than that of the 16‐gauge IV catheter (152.56 ± 67.23 mmHg). The insertion times of a 16‐gauge IV catheter and 15‐gauge EZIO IO catheterisation were 16.79 ± 0.92 and 11.65 ± 1.70 s, respectively. The success rates of the insertion were similar between both groups. Conclusion: This study shows that IO catheterisation with a commercial IV catheter stylet can be an alternative method of IO catheterisation in an emergency, especially for rapid vascular access.
