When the task of locating manipulation regions in partially-fake audio (PFA) involves cross-domain datasets, the performance of deep learning models drops significantly due to the shift between the source and target domains. To address this issue, existing approaches often employ data augmentation before training. However, they overlook the characteristics in target domain that are absent in source domain. Inspired by the mixture-of-experts model, we propose an unsupervised method named Samples mining with Diversity and Entropy (SDE). Our method first learns from a collection of diverse experts that achieve great performance from different perspectives in the source domain, but with ambiguity on target samples. We leverage these diverse experts to select the most informative samples by calculating their entropy. Furthermore, we introduced a label generation method tailored for these selected samples that are incorporated in the training process in source domain integrating the target domain information. We applied our method to a cross-domain partially fake audio detection dataset, ADD2023Track2. By introducing 10% of unknown samples from the target domain, we achieved an F1 score of 43.84%, which represents a relative increase of 77.2% compared to the second-best method.

In the telephony scenarios, the fake speech detection (FSD) task to combat speech spoofing attacks is challenging. Data augmentation (DA) methods are considered effective means to address the FSD task in telephony scenarios, typically divided into time domain and frequency domain stages. While each has its advantages, both can result in information loss. To tackle this issue, we propose a novel DA method, Frequency-mix (Freqmix), and introduce the Freqmix knowledge distillation (FKD) to enhance model information extraction and generalization abilities. Specifically, we use Freqmix-enhanced data as input for the teacher model, while the student model's input undergoes time-domain DA method. We use a multi-level feature distillation approach to restore information and improve the model's generalization capabilities. Our approach achieves state-of-the-art results on ASVspoof 2021 LA dataset, showing a 31\% improvement over baseline and performs competitively on ASVspoof 2021 DF dataset., Comment: Accepted by Interspeech 2024

Fake artefacts for discriminating between bonafide and fake audio can exist in both short- and long-range segments. Therefore, combining local and global feature information can effectively discriminate between bonafide and fake audio. This paper proposes an end-to-end bidirectional state space model, named RawBMamba, to capture both short- and long-range discriminative information for audio deepfake detection. Specifically, we use sinc Layer and multiple convolutional layers to capture short-range features, and then design a bidirectional Mamba to address Mamba's unidirectional modelling problem and further capture long-range feature information. Moreover, we develop a bidirectional fusion module to integrate embeddings, enhancing audio context representation and combining short- and long-range information. The results show that our proposed RawBMamba achieves a 34.1\% improvement over Rawformer on ASVspoof2021 LA dataset, and demonstrates competitive performance on other datasets., Comment: Accepted by Interspeech 2024

Probabilistic graphical models that encode an underlying Markov random field are fundamental building blocks of generative modeling to learn latent representations in modern multivariate data sets with complex dependency structures. Among these, the exponential family graphical models are especially popular, given their fairly well-understood statistical properties and computational scalability to high-dimensional data based on pseudo-likelihood methods. These models have been successfully applied in many fields, such as the Ising model in statistical physics and count graphical models in genomics. Another strand of models allows some nodes to be latent, so as to allow the marginal distribution of the observable nodes to depart from exponential family to capture more complex dependence. These approaches form the basis of generative models in artificial intelligence, such as the Boltzmann machines and their restricted versions. A fundamental barrier to likelihood-based (i.e., both maximum likelihood and fully Bayesian) inference in both fully and partially observed cases is the intractability of the likelihood. The usual workaround is via adopting pseudo-likelihood based approaches, following the pioneering work of Besag (1974). The goal of this paper is to demonstrate that full likelihood based analysis of these models is feasible in a computationally efficient manner. The chief innovation lies in using a technique of Geyer (1991) to estimate the intractable normalizing constant, as well as its gradient, for intractable graphical models. Extensive numerical results, supporting theory and comparisons with pseudo-likelihood based approaches demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method.

Open Domain Multi-Hop Question Answering (ODMHQA) plays a crucial role in Natural Language Processing (NLP) by aiming to answer complex questions through multi-step reasoning over retrieved information from external knowledge sources. Recently, Large Language Models (LLMs) have demonstrated remarkable performance in solving ODMHQA owing to their capabilities including planning, reasoning, and utilizing tools. However, LLMs may generate off-topic answers when attempting to solve ODMHQA, namely the generated answers are irrelevant to the original questions. This issue of off-topic answers accounts for approximately one-third of incorrect answers, yet remains underexplored despite its significance. To alleviate this issue, we propose the Discriminate->Re-Compose->Re- Solve->Re-Decompose (Dr3) mechanism. Specifically, the Discriminator leverages the intrinsic capabilities of LLMs to judge whether the generated answers are off-topic. In cases where an off-topic answer is detected, the Corrector performs step-wise revisions along the reversed reasoning chain (Re-Compose->Re-Solve->Re-Decompose) until the final answer becomes on-topic. Experimental results on the HotpotQA and 2WikiMultiHopQA datasets demonstrate that our Dr3 mechanism considerably reduces the occurrence of off-topic answers in ODMHQA by nearly 13%, improving the performance in Exact Match (EM) by nearly 3% compared to the baseline method without the Dr3 mechanism., Comment: LREC-COLING 2024, Long Paper

In recent years, knowledge graph completion (KGC) models based on pre-trained language model (PLM) have shown promising results. However, the large number of parameters and high computational cost of PLM models pose challenges for their application in downstream tasks. This paper proposes a progressive distillation method based on masked generation features for KGC task, aiming to significantly reduce the complexity of pre-trained models. Specifically, we perform pre-distillation on PLM to obtain high-quality teacher models, and compress the PLM network to obtain multi-grade student models. However, traditional feature distillation suffers from the limitation of having a single representation of information in teacher models. To solve this problem, we propose masked generation of teacher-student features, which contain richer representation information. Furthermore, there is a significant gap in representation ability between teacher and student. Therefore, we design a progressive distillation method to distill student models at each grade level, enabling efficient knowledge transfer from teachers to students. The experimental results demonstrate that the model in the pre-distillation stage surpasses the existing state-of-the-art methods. Furthermore, in the progressive distillation stage, the model significantly reduces the model parameters while maintaining a certain level of performance. Link prediction in biomedical knowledge graphs (KGs) aims at predicting unknown interactions between entities, including drug-target interaction (DTI) and drug-drug interaction (DDI), which is critical for drug discovery and therapeutics. Previous methods prefer to utilize the rich semantic relations and topological structure of the KG to predict missing links, yielding promising outcomes. However, all these works only focus on improving the predictive performance without considering the inevitable noise and unreliable interactions existing in the KGs, which limits the development of KG-based computational methods. To address these limitations, we propose a Denoised Link Prediction framework, called DenoisedLP. DenoisedLP obtains reliable interactions based on the local subgraph by denoising noisy links in a learnable way, providing a universal module for mining underlying task-relevant relations. To collaborate with the smoothed semantic information, DenoisedLP introduces the semantic subgraph by blurring conflict relations around the predicted link. By maximizing the mutual information between the reliable structure and smoothed semantic relations, DenoisedLP emphasizes the informative interactions for predicting relation-specific links. Experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that DenoisedLP outperforms state-of-the-art methods on DTI and DDI prediction tasks, and verify the effectiveness and robustness of denoising unreliable interactions on the contaminated KGs.

Low-precision training has emerged as a promising low-cost technique to enhance the training efficiency of deep neural networks without sacrificing much accuracy. Its Bayesian counterpart can further provide uncertainty quantification and improved generalization accuracy. This paper investigates low-precision sampling via Stochastic Gradient Hamiltonian Monte Carlo (SGHMC) with low-precision and full-precision gradient accumulators for both strongly log-concave and non-log-concave distributions. Theoretically, our results show that, to achieve $\epsilon$-error in the 2-Wasserstein distance for non-log-concave distributions, low-precision SGHMC achieves quadratic improvement ($\widetilde{\mathbf{O}}\left({\epsilon^{-2}{\mu^*}^{-2}\log^2\left({\epsilon^{-1}}\right)}\right)$) compared to the state-of-the-art low-precision sampler, Stochastic Gradient Langevin Dynamics (SGLD) ($\widetilde{\mathbf{O}}\left({{\epsilon}^{-4}{\lambda^{*}}^{-1}\log^5\left({\epsilon^{-1}}\right)}\right)$). Moreover, we prove that low-precision SGHMC is more robust to the quantization error compared to low-precision SGLD due to the robustness of the momentum-based update w.r.t. gradient noise. Empirically, we conduct experiments on synthetic data, and {MNIST, CIFAR-10 \& CIFAR-100} datasets, which validate our theoretical findings. Our study highlights the potential of low-precision SGHMC as an efficient and accurate sampling method for large-scale and resource-limited machine learning.

Cavity-enhanced single quantum dots (QDs) are the main approach towards ultra-high-performance solid-state quantum light sources for scalable photonic quantum technologies. Nevertheless, harnessing the Purcell effect requires precise spectral and spatial alignment of the QDs' emission with the cavity mode, which is challenging for most cavities. Here we have successfully integrated miniaturized Fabry-Perot microcavities with a piezoelectric actuator, and demonstrated a bright single photon source derived from a deterministically coupled QD within this microcavity. Leveraging the cavity-membrane structures, we have achieved large spectral-tunability via strain tuning. On resonance, we have obtained a high Purcell factor of approximately 9. The source delivers single photons with simultaneous high extraction efficiency of 0.58, high purity of 0.956(2) and high indistinguishability of 0.922(4). Together with a small footprint, our scheme facilitates the scalable integration of indistinguishable quantum light sources on-chip, and therefore removes a major barrier to the solid-state quantum information platforms based on QDs., Comment: 12 pages, 4 figures

In this paper, we propose the multi-perspective information fusion (MPIF) Res2Net with random Specmix for fake speech detection (FSD). The main purpose of this system is to improve the model's ability to learn precise forgery information for FSD task in low-quality scenarios. The task of random Specmix, a data augmentation, is to improve the generalization ability of the model and enhance the model's ability to locate discriminative information. Specmix cuts and pastes the frequency dimension information of the spectrogram in the same batch of samples without introducing other data, which helps the model to locate the really useful information. At the same time, we randomly select samples for augmentation to reduce the impact of data augmentation directly changing all the data. Once the purpose of helping the model to locate information is achieved, it is also important to reduce unnecessary information. The role of MPIF-Res2Net is to reduce redundant interference information. Deceptive information from a single perspective is always similar, so the model learning this similar information will produce redundant spoofing clues and interfere with truly discriminative information. The proposed MPIF-Res2Net fuses information from different perspectives, making the information learned by the model more diverse, thereby reducing the redundancy caused by similar information and avoiding interference with the learning of discriminative information. The results on the ASVspoof 2021 LA dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed method, achieving EER and min-tDCF of 3.29% and 0.2557, respectively., Comment: Accepted by DADA2023

This paper studies the online stochastic resource allocation problem (RAP) with chance constraints. The online RAP is a 0-1 integer linear programming problem where the resource consumption coefficients are revealed column by column along with the corresponding revenue coefficients. When a column is revealed, the corresponding decision variables are determined instantaneously without future information. Moreover, in online applications, the resource consumption coefficients are often obtained by prediction. To model their uncertainties, we take the chance constraints into the consideration. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time chance constraints are introduced in the online RAP problem. Assuming that the uncertain variables have known Gaussian distributions, the stochastic RAP can be transformed into a deterministic but nonlinear problem with integer second-order cone constraints. Next, we linearize this nonlinear problem and analyze the performance of vanilla online primal-dual algorithm for solving the linearized stochastic RAP. Under mild technical assumptions, the optimality gap and constraint violation are both on the order of $\sqrt{n}$. Then, to further improve the performance of the algorithm, several modified online primal-dual algorithms with heuristic corrections are proposed. Finally, extensive numerical experiments on both synthetic and real data demonstrate the applicability and effectiveness of our methods., Comment: 5 pages, 5 figures. The super-oscillation lens (SOL) can achieve super-resolution focusing but have to trade-off with weaker hotspots and higher sidebands. We propose a single compound SOL to achieve reflective confocal imaging in principle without additional lenses. The designed SOL consists of an outer lens and an inner lens which play the role of focusing lens and collective lens respectively. As a result, focusing and collecting functions can be simultaneously realized. The improved system can achieve excellent imaging performance with an ultra-high resolution (<0.34{\lambda}/NA, NA stands for numerical aperture), and almost negligible side lobe ratio and no side bands, which proved superior to conventional laser scanning confocal microscopy and single SOL. Orbital angular momentum (OAM) spectrum diagnosis is a fundamental building block for diverse OAM-based systems. Among others, the simple on-axis interferometric measurement can retrieve the amplitude and phase information of complex OAM spectra in a few shots. Yet, its single-shot retrieval remains illusive, due to the signal-signal beat interference inherent in the measurement. Here, we introduce the concept of Kramers-Kronig (KK) receiver in coherent communications to the OAM domain, enabling rigorous, single-shot OAM spectrum measurement. We explain in detail the working principle and the requirement of the KK method, and then apply the technique to precisely measure various characteristic OAM states. In addition, we discuss the effects of the carrier-to-signal power ratio and the number of sampling points essential for rigorous retrieval, and evaluate the performance on a large set of random OAM spectra and high-dimensional spaces. Single-shot KK interferometry shows enormous potential for characterizing complex OAM states in real-time.

The topological electronic structure plays a central role in the non-trivial physical properties in topological quantum materials. A minimal, hydrogen-atom-like topological electronic structure is desired for researches. In this work, we demonstrate an effort towards the realization of such a system in the intrinsic magnetic topological insulator MnBi2Te4, by manipulating the topological surface state (TSS) via surface modification. Using high resolution laser- and synchrotron-based angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we found the TSS in MnBi2Te4 is heavily hybridized with a trivial Rashba-type surface state (RSS), which could be efficiently removed by the in situ surface potassium (K) dosing. By employing multiple experimental methods to characterize K dosed surface, we attribute such a modification to the electrochemical reactions of K clusters on the surface. Our work not only gives a clear band assignment in MnBi2Te4, but also provides possible new routes in accentuating the topological behavior in the magnetic topological quantum materials.

When the timeliness constraints are considered, the coefficients are generated by the prediction for the transportation time from origin to destination. Assuming that the uncertain variables have known Gaussian distributions, the stochastic RAP can be transformed into a deterministic but nonlinear problem with integer second-order cone constraints. The paper develops a new adversarial attack against deep neural networks (DNN), based on applying bio-inspired design to moving physical objects. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to introduce physical attacks with a moving object. Instead of following the dominating attack strategy in the existing literature, i.e., to introduce minor perturbations to a digital input or a stationary physical object, we show two new successful attack strategies in this paper. We show by superimposing several patterns onto one physical object, a DNN becomes confused and picks one of the patterns to assign a class label. Our experiment with three flapping wing robots demonstrates the possibility of developing an adversarial camouflage to cause a targeted mistake by DNN. We also show certain motion can reduce the dependency among consecutive frames in a video and make an object detector "blind", i.e., not able to detect an object exists in the video.
