The present study aims to clarify the role of ball pitch in Al 2 O 3 –SiC–C (ASC) refractory castables and investigate the influence of low temperature treatment on the composition, microstructural evolution, and properties of ASC refractory castables. By utilizing the expansion properties of ball pitch during heating, the castables undergo a low temperature treatment to induce the flow and expansion of ball pitch within the castables. This, in turn, fills the surrounding pores and enhances the physical properties of the castables. The results of this study demonstrate that low-temperature heat treatment of the castables at temperatures at 350 °C significantly improves the hot modulus of rupture, oxidation resistance, and slag resistance after sintering. This improvement is attributed to the optimized microstructure. In comparison to the corresponding samples without low temperature treatment, the high temperature modulus of rupture (HMOR) of the calcined castables treated at 350 °C increases by 33.3%. Additionally, the oxidation index and slag corrosion index after sintering at 1500 °C decrease by 39.6% and 87.31% respectively for the samples low temperature treated at 350 °C, as compared to the samples low temperature treated at 110 °C. Socioeconomic status (SES) has been linked to mortality rates, with family income being a quantifiable marker of SES. However, the precise association between the family income-to-poverty ratio (PIR) and all-cause mortality in adults aged 40 and older remains unclear. A cross-sectional study was conducted using data from NHANES III, including 20,497 individuals. The PIR was used to assess financial status, and various demographic, lifestyle, and clinical factors were considered. Mortality data were collected from the NHANES III linked mortality file. The study revealed a non-linear association between PIR and all-cause mortality. The piecewise Cox proportional hazards regression model showed an inflection point at PIR 3.5. Below this threshold, the hazard ratio (HR) for all-cause mortality was 0.85 (95% CI 0.79–0.91), while above 3.5, the HR decreased to 0.66 (95% CI 0.57–0.76). Participants with lower income had a higher probability of all-cause mortality, with middle-income and high-income groups showing lower multivariate-adjusted HRs compared to the low-income group. This study provides evidence of a non-linear association between PIR and all-cause mortality in adults aged 40 and older, with an inflection point at PIR 3.5. The dynamics of excited‐state charge transfer (CT) in second near‐infrared (NIR‐II) fluorophore proceeds with conformational change that govern fluorescence. Unveiling the relationship between CT dynamics and conformational change in excited state is of great fundamental significance in optimizing NIR‐II fluorescence but remains less explored. This study unveils the pivotal role of large conformational change in promoting the evolution of emissive CT state into nonemissive CT state in NIR‐II fluorophore (CA‐BBT). Spectroscopic and computational results reveal that large conformational rotation/twisting leads to a pronounced increase in the CT character in excited state. This heightened CT character in CA‐BBT enables a rapid evolution of emissive CT state into a nonemissive CT state within 1.4 ps, as observed by ultrafast spectroscopy. Subsequently, this nonemissive state dominates nonradiative decay, resulting in very low NIR‐II fluorescence. Preventing such detrimental evolution by constraining the conformational dynamics of CA‐BBT results in a 10‐fold enhancement of NIR‐II fluorescence, enabling high‐resolution dynamic visualization of vasculature within osteosarcoma. This study offers a profound understanding of the relationship between CT dynamics and conformational changes in NIR‐II fluorescence, presenting innovative perspectives to develop bright NIR‐II fluorophores. In order to adjust the pore structures and improve the thermal insulation property and mechanical strength of fly ash‐based insulation materials prepared by a foaming gel‐casting technique, the rheological behaviors of foaming slurries were adjusted. Furthermore, the effects of heating temperatures on the properties and microstructure of the insulation materials were investigated. The results showed that as the content of the dispersant increased, the viscosity of slurries increased first and then decreased. When the content of the dispersant reached 0.2 wt.%, the slurries showed excellent flow ability, which caused a lot of big pores to generate in the matrix. Moreover, the thickening agent, binder and solid content had a great influence on the thixotropy of the slurries. As the content of the thickening agent and binder were 0.25 wt % and 5.0 wt.%, respectively, the slurries with 45 wt.% solid content exhibited outstanding thixotropy, which was beneficial to improve the stability of generated closed pores. After treating at 1300°C for 2 h, the bulk density, compressive strengths, and thermal conductivity of the insulation materials prepared using the optimized slurries were 0.44 g cm−3, 3.27 MPa, and 0.13 W·m−1·K−1, respectively. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID‐19), a global pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2), has posed a catastrophic threat to human health worldwide. Human stem cell‐derived organoids serve as a promising platform for exploring SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Several review articles have summarized the application of human organoids in COVID‐19, but the research status and development trend of this field have seldom been systematically and comprehensively studied. In this review, we use bibliometric analysis method to identify the characteristics of organoid‐based COVID‐19 research. First, an annual trend of publications and citations, the most contributing countries or regions and organizations, co‐citation analysis of references and sources and research hotspots are determined. Next, systematical summaries of organoid applications in investigating the pathology of SARS‐CoV‐2 infection, vaccine development and drug discovery, are provided. Lastly, the current challenges and future considerations of this field are discussed. The present study will provide an objective angle to identify the current trend and give novel insights for directing the future development of human organoid applications in SARS‐CoV‐2 infection. Even though previous studies have investigated the effect of environmental regulation policy on stock price crash risk, little is known about how the firm-specific environmental punishment would impact stock price crash risks. By applying difference-in-difference method with manually collected firm-specific environmental punishment data for the listed firms in China, our study finds that the implemented environmental punishment leads to larger stock price crash risk accumulation of the punished firms. This effect can be mitigated by better information disclosure behavior, higher media reputation, healthy fundamentals, and optimal capital structure. Our study also finds the consecutive punishment effect only exists in a long period. Our work is among the first to rigorously analyze the effect of firm-specific environmental punishment on firm's stock price crash risk. There are an increasing number of manufacturing service resources appeared on the cloud manufacturing (CMfg) service platform recently, which leads to a serious information overloading problem to the enterprises that need these resources. To tackle this problem, a graph neural network-based recommendation method for CMfg service resources is proposed, which effectively overcomes some limitations of the traditional recommendation methods. Specifically, we first use different similarity calculation methods (e.g., Cosine similarity, Pearson correlation coefficient, etc.) to calculate the similarities between different resources based on the feature information of CMfg service resources. A resource graph dataset is accordingly established. A graph neural network is then used to perform representation learning of nodes in these graphs, obtaining the vector representations of these nodes. Finally, new links that may appear in a graph are predicted by performing dot product calculations on these nodes' vector representations. And these links can be used to recommend suitable resources. Experiments mainly show that (i) the proposed method obtains better link prediction accuracy compared with that of other link prediction algorithms; (ii) when the network density used for training is relatively high, the predictive performance of the proposed method is improved significantly. Smart respiratory therapy is enabled by continual assessment of lung functions. This systematic review provides an overview of the suitability of equipment-to-patient acoustic imaging in continual assessment of lung conditions. The literature search was conducted using Scopus, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, SciELO Preprints, and Google Scholar. Fifteen studies remained for additional examination after the screening process. Two imaging modalities, lung ultrasound (LUS) and vibration imaging response (VRI), were identified. The most common outcome obtained from eleven studies was positive observations of changes to the geographical lung area, sound energy, or both, while positive observation of lung consolidation was reported in the remaining four studies. Two different modalities of lung assessment were used in eight studies, with one study comparing VRI against chest X-ray, one study comparing VRI with LUS, two studies comparing LUS to chest X-ray, and four studies comparing LUS in contrast to computed tomography. Our findings indicate that the acoustic imaging approach could assess and provide regional information on lung function. No technology has been shown to be better than another for measuring obstructed airways; hence, more research is required on acoustic imaging in detecting obstructed airways regionally in the application of enabling smart therapy. Background: Since hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss is rarely achieved with nucleos(t)ide analog (NA) treatment, most patients require life-long NA treatment. Previous studies have shown that some patients remain virologically responsive even after NA cessation. However, there is still controversy surrounding whether NA discontinuation increases the HBsAg loss rate. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the cumulative rate of HBsAg loss and identify the predictors of HBsAg loss after NA discontinuation. Methods: This multicenter prospective study included HBV e antigen (HBeAg)-positive patients without cirrhosis from 12 hospitals in China who met the inclusion criteria. The enrolled patients stopped NA and were followed up with clinical and laboratory assessments every 3 months for 24 months after NA cessation or until clinical relapse (CR) occurred. Results: Overall, 158 patients were classified into two groups. Group A included patients with HBsAg positivity at NA cessation (n = 139), and Group B included patients with HBsAg negativity at NA cessation (n = 19). In Group A, the 12-month and 24-month cumulative rates of HBsAg loss were4.3%and 9.4%, respectively. End of treatment (EOT) HBsAg (hazard ratio (HR) = 0.152, P < 0.001) and EOT hepatitis B core-related antigen (HBcrAg) (HR = 0.257, P = 0.001) were associated with HBsAg loss. The areas under the receiver operating characteristic curves for EOT HBsAg and HBcrAg levels were 0.952 (P < 0.001) and 0.765 (P < 0.001), respectively. Patients with EOT HBsAg ≤ 135 IU/mL (59.2% vs. 1.3%, P < 0.001) or HBcrAg ≤ 3.6 logU/mL (17% vs. 5.4%, P = 0.027) had a higher 24-month cumulative HBsAg loss rate. In Group B, none of the patients experienced virological relapse after NA cessation. Only 1 (5.3%) patient had HBsAg reversion. Conclusions: EOT HBsAg ≤ 135 IU/mL or HBcrAg ≤ 3.6 logU/mL can be used to identify patients with a higher likelihood of HBsAg loss after NA cessation. Intracellular pressure, a key physical parameter of the intracellular environment, has been found to regulate multiple cell physiological activities and impact cell micromanipulation results. The intracellular pressure may reveal the mechanism of these cells' physiological activities or improve the micro-manipulation accuracy for cells. The involvement of specialized and expensive devices and the significant damage to cell viability that the current intracellular pressure measurement methods cause significantly limit their wide applications. This paper proposes a robotic intracellular pressure measurement method using a traditional micropipette electrode system setup. First, the measured resistance of the micropipette inside the culture medium is modeled to analyze its variation trend when the pressure inside the micropipette increases. Then, the concentration of KCl solution filled inside the micropipette electrode that is suitable for intracellular pressure measurement is determined according to the tested electrode resistance–pressure relationship; 1 mol/L KCl solution is our final choice. Further, the measurement resistance of the micropipette electrode inside the cell is modeled to measure the intracellular pressure through the difference in key pressure before and after the release of the intracellular pressure. Based on the above work, a robotic measurement procedure of the intracellular pressure is established based on a traditional micropipette electrode system. The experimental results on porcine oocytes demonstrate that the proposed method can operate on cells at an average speed of 20~40 cells/day with measurement efficiency comparable to the related work. The average repeated error of the relationship between the measured electrode resistance and the pressure inside the micropipette electrode is less than 5%, and no observable intracellular pressure leakage was found during the measurement process, both guaranteeing the measurement accuracy of intracellular pressure. The measured results of the porcine oocytes are in accordance with those reported in related work. Moreover, a 90% survival rate of operated oocytes was obtained after measurement, proving limited damage to cell viability. Bone tissue engineering (BTE) utilizes a special mix of scaffolds, cells, and bioactive factors to regulate the microenvironment of bone regeneration and form a three-dimensional bone simulation structure to regenerate bone tissue. Silk fibroin (SF) is perhaps the most encouraging material for BTE given its tunable mechanical properties, controllable biodegradability, and excellent biocompatibility. Numerous studies have confirmed the significance of SF for stimulating bone formation. In this review, we start by introducing the structure and characteristics of SF. After that, the immunological mechanism of SF for osteogenesis is summarized, and various forms of SF biomaterials and the latest development prospects of SF in BTE are emphatically introduced. Versatile Video Coding (VVC) is the latest video coding standard, but currently, most steganographic algorithms are based on High-Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC). The concept of symmetry is often adopted in deep neural networks. With the rapid rise of new multimedia, video steganography shows great research potential. This paper proposes a VVC steganographic algorithm based on Coding Units (CUs). Considering the novel techniques in VVC, the proposed steganography only uses chroma CUs to embed secret information. Based on modifying the partition modes of chroma CUs, we propose four different embedding levels to satisfy the different needs of visual quality, capacity and video bitrate. In order to reduce the bitrate of stego-videos and improve the distortion caused by modifying them, we propose a novel convolutional neural network (CNN) as an additional in-loop filter in the VVC codec to achieve better restoration. Furthermore, the proposed steganography algorithm based on chroma components has an advantage in resisting most of the video steganalysis algorithms, since few VVC steganalysis algorithms have been proposed thus far and most HEVC steganalysis algorithms are based on the luminance component. Background: Common mental disorders are general term for mental disorders with high disability rates and significant social burden. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of long-term disability associated with common mental disorders and to interpret the relationship between common mental disorders and long-term disability. Methods: Participants in the 2013 China Mental Health Survey were followed up by telephone between April and June 2018. This study evaluated long-term disability over a five-year period using the World Health Organization's Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0. Poisson regression was used to analyze the relationship between common mental disorders and long-term disability. Results: A total of 6269 patients were followed up by telephone. In patients with common mental disorders, the prevalence of disability ranged from 7.62% to 43.94%. The long-term disabilities were significantly associated with dysthymic disorder (DD, RR:2.40; 95% CI:1.87-3.03), major depressive disorder (MDD, RR:1.63; 95% CI:1.34-1.98), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD, RR:1.95; 95% CI:1.15-3.09), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD, RR:1.68; 95% CI:1.24-2.22) and alcohol use disorder (AUD, RR: 1.42; 95% CI:0.99-1.96). Conclusions: In China, common mental disorders raise the risk of long-term disability, and there is a critical need for monitoring patients with DD, MDD, GAD, OCD, and AUD. Objective. The aim of the study is to investigate the role and possible mechanism of fascin-1 (FSCN1) in the invasion, migration, glycolysis, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of prostate cancer. Methods. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was utilized to determine the mRNA expression level of FSCN1 in prostate cancer tissues and prostate cancer cells PC-3 and DU145. The transwell and the scratch test were applied to detect the invasion and migration abilities of cells, respectively. A metabolic assay was used for measuring the glucose consumption, lactate production, and the extracellular acidification rate (ECAR) in cells; western blot was used for checking FSCN1, EMT, and yes-associated protein/transcriptional co-activators with the PDZ-binding motif (YAP/TAZ) signaling pathway-related protein expression level in cells or tissues. Results. FSCN1 was significantly highly expressed in prostate cancer tissues and cells. On the one hand, interference with the expression of FSCN1 could inhibit the invasion, migration, EMT, and glycolysis of prostate cancer cells. On the other hand, overexpression of FSCN1 promoted the invasion, migration, EMT, and glycolysis of prostate cancer cells. Besides, further mechanistic studies revealed that FSCN1 could activate the YAP/TAZ signaling pathway in prostate cancer cells. Conclusion. FSCN1 promotes invasion, migration, EMT, and glycolysis in prostate cancer cells by activating the YAP/TAZ signaling pathway. Cell-derived drug carriers have increasingly gained the interest of the scientific community due to their ability to imitate various natural properties of their source cells. We developed theranostics nanoplatforms composed of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), indocyanine green (ICG) molecules, microRNAs-137 (miR-137), red-blood-cell membranes (RM), and tumor-targeting cyclo Arg-Gly-Asp-d-Phe-Cys peptides (cRGD(fC)), which were abbreviated as MSNs/ICG/miR/RM/RGD particles. These particles possessed photothermal and gene therapy properties due to ICG and miR-137, respectively. The photothermal conversion efficiency was ~18.7%. Upon 808 nm light irradiation, the tumor inhibition rate reached 94.9% with dosage of 10 mg/kg. The developed nanoplatform possessed unique properties, such as exceptional biocompatibility, immune escaping, and specific recognition, which was also used for near-infrared fluorescence, photoacoustic (PA) bimodal imaging-guided tumor recognition. We report a facile method to enhance the photoluminescence of 6Y–ZrO 2 : Er3+ translucent ceramics prepared via the vacuum sintering technique by introducing Ag. Ag atoms could be incorporated into the host at high temperatures; these atoms partially precipitated to form Ag nanoparticles during cooling. The intensities of green up-conversion, 1.5 and 2.7 μm emissions under 980 nm excitation, and the green down-conversion luminescence upon 377 nm excitation were improved via co-doping with Ag due to the modification of the local crystal field and the surface plasmon resonance effect. Based on the fluorescence intensity ratio of 2H 11/2 → 4I 15/2 versus 4S 3/2 → 4I 15/2 , 6Y–ZrO 2 : 1 mol%Er3+, 0.67 μmol%Ag exhibited the maximal relative sensing sensitivity of 1.12 %K−1, which could be applied as a potential thermometer with good sensitivity. Achieving accurate single snapshot direction of arrival (DOA) information significantly improves communication performance. This paper investigates an accurate and high-resolution DOA estimation technique by enabling single snapshot data collection and enhancing DOA estimation results compared to multiple snapshot methods. This is carried out by manipulating the incoming signal covariance matrix while suppressing undesired additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) by actively updating and estimating the antenna array manifold vector. We demonstrated the estimation performance in simulation that our proposed technique supersedes the estimation performance of existing state-of-the-art techniques in various signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) scenarios and single snapshot sampling environments. Our proposed covariance-based single snapshot (CbSS) technique yields the lowest root-mean-squared error (RMSE) against the true DOA compared to root-MUSIC and the partial relaxation (PR) approach for multiple snapshots and a single signal source environment. In addition, our proposed technique presents the lowest DOA estimation performance degradation in a multiple uncorrelated and coherent signal source environment by up to 25.5% with nearly negligible bias. Lastly, our proposed CbSS technique presents the best DOA estimation results for a single snapshot and single-source scenario with an RMSE of 0.05 ° against the true DOA compared to root-MUSIC and the PR approach with nearly negligible bias as well. A potential application for CbSS would be in a scenario where accurate DOA estimation with a small antenna array form factor is a limitation, such as in the intelligent transportation system industry and wireless communication. In this paper, we propose and analyze a first-order and a second-order time-stepping schemes for the anisotropic phase-field dendritic crystal growth model. The proposed schemes are based on an auxiliary variable approach for the Allen-Cahn equation and delicate treatment of the terms coupling the Allen-Cahn equation and temperature equation. The idea of the former is to introduce suitable auxiliary variables to facilitate construction of high order stable schemes for a large class of gradient flows. We propose a new technique to treat the coupling terms involved in the crystal growth model, and introduce suitable stabilization terms to result in totally decoupled schemes, which satisfy a discrete energy law without affecting the convergence order. A delicate implementation demonstrates that the proposed schemes can be realized in a very efficient way. That is, it only requires solving four linear elliptic equations and a simple algebraic equation at each time step. A detailed comparison with existing schemes is given, and the advantage of the new schemes is emphasized. As far as we know this is the first second-order scheme that is totally decoupled, linear, unconditionally stable for the dendritic crystal growth model with variable mobility parameter. Sea ice has a significant effect on climate change and ship navigation. Hence, it is crucial to draw sea-ice maps that reflect the geographical distribution of different types of sea ice. Many automatic sea-ice classification methods using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images are based on the polarimetric characteristics or image texture features of sea ice. They either require professional knowledge to design the parameters and features or are sensitive to noise and condition changes. Moreover, ice changes over time are often ignored. In this article, we propose a new SAR sea-ice image classification method based on a combined learning of spatial and temporal features, derived from residual convolutional neural networks (ResNet) and long short-term memory (LSTM) networks. In this way, we achieve automatic and refined classification of sea-ice types. First, we construct a seven-type ice data set according to the Canadian Ice Service ice charts. We extract spatial feature vectors of a time series of sea-ice samples using a trained ResNet network. Then, using the feature vectors as inputs, the LSTM network further learns the variation of the set of sea-ice samples with time. Finally, the extracted high-level features are fed into a softmax classifier to output the most recent ice type. Taking both spatial features and time variation into consideration, our method can achieve a high classification accuracy of 95.7% for seven ice types. Our method can automatically produce more objective sea-ice interpretation maps, allowing detailed sea-ice distribution and improving the efficiency of sea-ice monitoring tasks. Soil microbiomes play important roles in both transformation and utilization of phosphorus (P) in agroecosystems. By targeting at 18S rRNA, pqqC, and phoD genes, respectively, the community compositions of soil arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and inorganic P‐solubilizing and organic P‐mineralizing prokaryotes were investigated across fields with annual crops or vegetables and orchards with peach trees or tea bushes in a common Agri‐technology Park, representing four typical agricultural land‐use types in Eastern China. Both annual crop and vegetable fields exhibited higher soil fertility and phosphatase activity, while both peach tree and tea bush orchards contained greater abundances of AM fungal and pqqC genes. Land‐use type also significantly affected the community compositions of soil AM fungi, and pqqC‐ and phoD‐harboring prokaryotes, with soil available P as the common driver for all functional groups above. Three main ecological clusters (modules) with distinctive interactive features, that is, synergistic, competitive, and inactive were observed in the co‐occurrence network comprised of the three groups involved in P‐cycling. The modules exhibited various distributions among the four land‐use types, and the correlations with soil pH, available P and K, and N:P were shown. Altogether, the results demonstrated the changes in gene abundances, diversity indices, community compositions, and interrelationships of functional groups involved in P‐cycling in response to distinct land‐use types, and highlighting the synergistic potential among groups to alleviate P deficiency. Reverse genetics approaches are critical for uncovering complex biological processes and genetic engineering. Clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)–CRISPR-associated (Cas) system (CRISPR/Cas9) has been widely used for generating mutants in a large number of species. The Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), a gonochoristic teleost with XX/XY sex determination system, is a good model for studying fish sex determination and reproduction. Here, we describe a detailed procedure for gene mutation in tilapia by CRISPR/Cas9. This protocol covers selection of target sites, in vitro RNA transcription, artificial insemination and microinjection of one cell stage embryos. We also provide details for detection of somatic and germline transmitted mutations, fast establishment of mutant lines and discuss some practical advices. In the present work, the influence of low-cost self-synthesized Al 2 O 3 – B 2 O 3 composite bubble on the oxidation resistance and mechanical properties of Al 2 O 3 –SiC–C (ASC) castables were investigated. The pre-fabricated composite bubble were characterized in detail. The properties of the ASC castables were measured, including their oxidation indexes, ambient and high-temperature mechanical properties, and microstructural evaluations. The results showed that the introduction of moderate contents of Al 2 O 3 – B 2 O 3 composite bubble effectively improved the oxidation resistance and mechanical properties of the ASC castables by volumetric expansion, improved powder filling performance, and the in-situ formation of a high-strength whisker network in the high-temperature flowing liquid phase. These results demonstrated the dual-functional application of Al 2 O 3 – B 2 O 3 composite bubble in ASC castables as antioxidants and mechanical reinforcements simultaneously. Background: Risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is higher in normal-weight metabolically unhealthy people, especially when combined with hypertension. In this context, whether the visceral adiposity index (VAI), which reflects body fat distribution and metabolism, can be used to identify the risk of CKD among normal-weight hypertensive patients is unclear.Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the association between VAI and renal function in normal-weight hypertensive patients.Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 8591 hypertensive patients with normal BMI from the China H-type Hypertension Registry Study were analyzed. The VAI was calculated with serum triglycerides, serum HDL cholesterol, waist circumference, and BMI. VAI was ln-transformed for analysis on account of the skewed distribution. Estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was calculated using the CKD-Epidemiology Collaboration equation. CKD was defined as an eGFR <60 mL · min-1 · 1.73 m-2. Multivariable linear and multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association of VAI with eGFR and CKD.Results: The prevalence rate of CKD was 10.1%. Multivariable linear regression analyses showed that an elevated lnVAI reduced eGFR by 2.63 mL · min-1 · 1.73 m-2 (95% CI: -3.54, -1.72 mL · min-1 · 1.73 m-2). Multivariable logistic regression analysis showed that an elevated lnVAI was independently associated with the prevalence of CKD (OR: 1.59; 95% CI: 1.31, 1.93). As possible confounding factors were removed the association became greater. The higher the VAI was, the greater the decrease in eGFR and the higher the risk of CKD. No significant interactions were found in any of the subgroups (age, sex, physical activity, current smoking, current drinking, fasting glucose, LDL cholesterol, blood pressure, and antihypertensive drugs).Conclusions: VAI, as a simple surrogate measure of visceral fat accumulation, is independently and inversely associated with renal function in normal-weight Chinese hypertensive adults.This trial was registered at chictr.org.cn as ChiCTR1800017274. Objective: Given the high prevalence of hypertension among Chinese adults, this population is at a significantly increased risk of severe COVID-19 complications. The purpose of this study is to assess the willingness of Chinese hypertensive adults to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and to identify the diverse factors that shape their vaccination decisions. Methods: Sampling was conducted utilizing multistage stratified random sampling, and ultimately, a total of 886 adult hypertensive patients from Luzhou City in Southwest China were included in this study. The questionnaire design was based on the Theory of Planned Behaviour and was used to investigate their willingness to be vaccinated with COVID-19. Structural equation modeling was employed for data analysis. Results: The results showed that 75.6% of hypertensive individuals were willing to receive COVID-19 vaccination. The structural equation modeling revealed that Subjective Norms (path coefficient = 0.361, CR = 8.049, P < 0.001) and Attitudes (path coefficient = 0.253, CR = 4.447, P < 0.001) had positive effects on vaccination willingness, while Perceived Behavioral Control (path coefficient=-0.004, CR=-0.127, P = 0.899) had no significant impact on Behavioral Attitudes. Mediation analysis indicated that Knowledge (indirect path coefficient = 0.032, LLCI = 0.014, ULCI = 0.058), Risk Perception (indirect path coefficient = 0.077, LLCI = 0.038, ULCI = 0.124), and Subjective Norms (indirect path coefficient = 0.044, LLCI = 0.019, ULCI = 0.087) significantly influenced vaccination willingness through Attitudes as a mediating factor. Conclusion: The willingness of hypertensive individuals to receive the COVID-19 vaccination is not satisfactory. The Theory of Planned Behavior provides valuable insights into understanding their vaccination intentions. Objective: Circular RNA SLC26A4 (circSLC26A4) functions as an oncogene in the initiation and progression of cervical cancer (CC). However, the clinical role of plasma exosomal circSLC26A4 in CC is poorly known. This study aims to develop an accurate diagnostic method based on circulating exosomal circSLC26A4. Methods: In this study, exosomal circSLC26A4 derived from CC cell lines (CaSki, SiHa, and HeLa) and human cervical epithelial cells (HcerEpic) was measured and compared using quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). Additionally, 56 volunteers, including 18 CC patients, 18 cervical high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) patients, and 20 healthy volunteers, were enrolled. qRT-PCR was also performed to measure the plasma exosomal circSLC26A4 levels in all participants. Results: The exosomal circSLC26A4 expression level derived from CC cells was significantly elevated compared to it derived from HcerEpic cells. Plasma exosomal circSLC26A4 levels in CC patients were significantly higher than in healthy women and HSIL patients (P < 0.05). In addition, high plasma exosomal circSLC26A4 expression was positively associated with lymph node metastasis and FIGO stage (all P < 0.05). However, no significant correlation was found between plasma exosomal circSLC26A4 expression and age, intravascular cancerous embolus, and perineural invasion (P > 0.05). Fe–Si3N4 was introduced to improve the service performance of corundum‐based dry vibratable refractories in the casting industry, specifically enhancing their thermal shock resistance and resistance to slag corrosion. The study analyzed the effects of Fe–Si3N4 powder content on the refractories' mechanical properties, phase compositions, slag corrosion resistance, and microstructures. The addition of Fe–Si3N4 facilitated the production of magnesium aluminate spinel in the refractory matrix, while also decreasing the wettability between the molten slag and refractory. Increasing the Fe–Si3N4 content resulted in accelerating the replacing Mg2+ (0.072 nm) with Al3+ (0.053 nm) in the spinel. Simultaneously, Fe3+ (0.055 nm) was effectively dissolved into the alumina crystals. The bulk density, compressive strength, and slag corrosion resistance of the refractories were improved. However, the thermal shock resistance initially increased but then decreased. In industrial tests, a corundum‐based dry vibratable refractory with a 1 wt.% Fe–Si3N4 content effectively prolonged the lifespan of an induction melting furnace when used as a lining refractory. Two polymers derived from bio-based anethole and isoeugenol display good thermostability with T g of higher than 390 °C and T 5d of more than 440 °C and good hydrophobicity, as well as exhibit low dielectric constants and low dielectric loss. Both of the two resins exhibit good thermostability with T g of more than 380 °C and T 5d of exceeded 440 °C and storage modulus of higher 1 GPa, as well as good dielectric constants of lower than 2.68 and dielectric loss of less than 2.1 × 10−3. Background. To explore the role of natural killer (NK) cells in the process of hepatitis B virus (HBV) clearance and whether their phenotype is related to antiviral treatment outcome in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients. Method. We performed a single-center prospective cohort study to analyze changes of NK cells at weeks 12 and 24 from baseline in CHB patients who received PEGylated-interferon- (PEG-IFN-) α-2a versus entecavir. The frequencies of NK, CD56bright, CD56dim, IFNAR2+, NKp46+, NKp46bright, and NKp46dim NK cells and mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of receptors NKp46 and IFNAR2 on the surface of NK cells were measured. Subgroup analyses were performed by comparing treatment responders versus nonresponders with aforementioned parameters in each group. Results. In PEG-IFN-α-treated patients, posttreatment CD56bright NK cell frequency increased, but CD56dim NK cell frequency decreased. Additionally, receptor NKp46 and IFNAR2 expression enhanced. In entecavir-treated patients, although NK cell frequency increased, CD56bright and CD56dim NK cell frequencies and IFNAR2 expression did not differ between baseline and posttreatment. In subgroup analyses, posttreatment CD56bright NK cell frequency and IFNAR2 expression significantly increased in PEG-IFN-α responders from baseline, while changes were absent in PEG-IFN-α nonresponders and entecavir treatment responders. Among patients with HBV viremia after entecavir therapy, NK cell frequency significantly increased, whereas NKp46bright and IFNAR2+ NK frequency and IFNAR2 MFI significantly decreased at 12 and 24 weeks from baseline. Conclusions. In CHB patients, PEG-IFN-α treatment significantly enhanced NK cell frequency and function when compared to entacavir. A novel insulin-like growth factor (igf3), which is exclusively expressed in the gonads, has been widely identified in fish species. Recent studies have indicated that Igf3 regulates spermatogonia proliferation and differentiation in zebrafish; however, detailed information on the role of this Igf needs further in vivo investigation. Here, using Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) as an animal model, we report that igf3 is required for spermatogenesis and reproduction. Knockout of igf3 by CRISPR/Cas9 severely inhibited spermatogonial proliferation and differentiation at 90 days after hatching, the time critical for meiosis initiation, and resulted in less spermatocytes in the mutants. Although spermatogenesis continued to occur later, more spermatocytes and less spermatids were observed in the igf3−/− testes when compared with wild type of testes at adults, indicating that Igf3 regulates spermatocyte to spermatid transition. Importantly, a significantly increased occurrence of apoptosis in spermatids was observed after loss of Igf3. Therefore, igf3−/− males were subfertile with drastically reduced semen volume and sperm count. Conversely, the overexpression of Igf3 in XY tilapia enhanced spermatogenesis leading to more spermatids and sperm count. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that the absence of Igf3 resulted in dysregulation of many genes involved in cell cycle, meiosis and pluripotency regulators that are critical for spermatogenesis. In addition, in vitro gonadal culture with 17α-methyltetosterone (MT) and 11-ketotestosterone (11-KT) administration and in vivo knockout of cyp11c1 demonstrated that igf3 expression is regulated by androgens, suggesting that Igf3 acts downstream of androgens in fish spermatogenesis. Notably, the igf3 knockout did not affect body growth, indicating that this Igf specifically functions in reproduction. Outdoor lighting and other lighting systems can disrupt natural plant growth habits. Thus, LED lighting that is not detrimental to plant growth is required. In our study, Dy3+-doped Ca 8 ZnY(PO 4) 7 :Dy3+ phosphor with enhanced luminescence properties caused by the co-dopants Mg2+ and B3+ were synthesised. The samples had multiple excitation peaks, indicating they are excited by either near-ultraviolet (n-UV) or blue chips. All samples exhibited bright narrow yellow and blue emission corresponding to the transitions of Dy3+ ions with 4F 9/2 →6H 13/2 and 4F 9/2 →6H 13/2 , respectively. Moreover, doping with Mg2+ and B3+ enhanced the luminescence intensity, reaching 113.6 and 119.7%, respectively. In addition, the luminescence emission intensity at 150 °C was maintained at approximately 95% of the initial value at 25 °C, and its thermal stability increased by 123%. Devices assembled with an n-UV chip (388 nm) and the as-obtained CZMYP:Dy3+ phosphor emitted a bright warm white light and simulated outdoor dark lighting for tobacco cultivation, indicating that the as-prepared phosphor is an excellent candidate material for plant habitat-conscious phosphors. • As of March 10, 2020, Italy had reported 9172 COVID-19 cases with 463 deaths. • We report the real-time reproductive numbers (R (t)) and case fatality rates for selected European countries (Italy, France, Germany, and Spain) by March 9, 2020. • The R (t) was greater than 2 in the selected European countries, indicating that the outbreak will continue. As a global pandemic is inevitable, real-time monitoring of transmission is vital for containing the spread of COVID-19. The main objective of this study was to report the real-time effective reproduction numbers (R (t)) and case fatality rates (CFR) in Europe. Data for this study were obtained mainly from the World Health Organization website, up to March 9, 2020. R (t) were estimated by exponential growth rate (EG) and time-dependent (TD) methods. 'R0' package in R was employed to estimate R (t) by fitting the existing epidemic curve. Both the naïve CFR (nCFR) and adjusted CFR (aCFR) were estimated. With the EG method, R (t) was 3.27 (95% confidence interval (CI) 3.17–3.38) for Italy, 6.32 (95% CI 5.72–6.99) for France, 6.07 (95% CI 5.51–6.69) for Germany, and 5.08 (95% CI 4.51–5.74) for Spain. With the TD method, the R value for March 9 was 3.10 (95% CI 2.21–4.11) for Italy, 6.56 (95% CI 2.04–12.26) for France, 4.43 (95% CI 1.83–7.92) for Germany, and 3.95 (95% CI 0–10.19) for Spain. This study provides important findings on the early outbreak of COVID-19 in Europe. In this work, a novel antenna structure has been proposed, which consists of multiple sub-array features i.e., a field selectable beam (90°, 180°, 270°, and 360°) and the choice of gain (11.16, 14.59 and 17.25 dBi) that can be easily adapted to cater for the dynamic scenarios in the transportation environment. The sub-arrays were designed using the microstrip patch antenna (MPA) concept with capacitive feed and dual substrate stacked up configuration for superior operating bandwidth covering the entire 802.11ac (5.17 to 5.85 GHz Industrial Scientific and Medical (ISM) band), in addition to the extended coverage for 4.92 to 4.98 GHz licensed band with narrow azimuth beamwidth of 24°. The sub-array was designed, simulated and experimentally evaluated and the beamforming results revealed that the antenna structure can be integrated with beamforming concepts to provide an enhanced wireless link between the ground base station and the mobile terminals that allows beam steering to focus on the targeted direction and null the interference directions with small beam width. It is expected that the proposed configurable gain/beam beamforming antenna array will further reduce the deployment cost and enhance the anti-interference performance by two-fold, and shall bring the user experience in the transportation market to the next level. Breast cancer (BC) is one of the most common cancers in females. Since early detection can bring prognosis benefit, discovery of novel noninvasive biomarkers for BC diagnosis is in urgent need. In this four‐phase study, we profiled miRNA expression in plasma samples from a total of 257 BC patients and 257 normal controls (NCs). Exiqon miRNA qPCR panel was used to select candidate miRNAs in the screening phase which were further analyzed using qRT‐PCR in the following training, testing and external validation phases. Finally, we identified five plasma miRNAs (let‐7b‐5p, miR‐122‐5p, miR‐146b‐5p, miR‐210‐3p and miR‐215‐5p) whose expression levels were significantly different between BC patients and NCs. A 5‐miRNA panel in plasma with high sensitivity and specificity was then constructed to detect BC. The areas under the receiver‐operating characteristic curves (AUCs) of the panel were 0.683, 0.966, 0.978 for the training, testing and external validation sets, respectively. Expression of the identified miRNAs was further analyzed among 32 pairs of BC tissue and the adjacent normal tissue samples as well as plasma‐derived exosome samples from 32 BC patients vs 32 NCs. Let‐7b‐5p was contrarily down‐regulated in BC tissue. In exosomes samples, only miR‐122‐5p was significantly up‐regulated as in plasma for BC patients. Trace anionic dyes in wastewater are difficult to be rapidly and efficiently removed because they are completely soluble and poorly biodegradable. Herein, a facile and environmentally friendly adsorbent was fabricated via the surface functioned SiO 2 with abundant amine groups of polyethyleneimine (PEI). The structural characterization indicated that PEI was successfully immobilized on the SiO 2 surface. The adsorption performance of SiO 2 -PEI was evaluated using acid orange II (AOII) as model pollutant. The adsorption of AOII on SiO 2 -PEI displayed high removal rates in the pH range of 2.0–9.0, and exhibited ultrafast removal (99.1% removal rate at 10 min). The adsorption behavior fitted well with the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and the maximum uptake capability of AOII was higher than 705.3 mg/g. The excellent adsorption capacity of AOII on SiO 2 -PEI mainly relied on the electrostatic attraction between the sulfonic acid group of AOII and amine group of PEI in the adsorption process. Additionally, other anionic dyes like acid fuchsin and direct sky blue 5B could also be fast and efficiently removed by SiO 2 -PEI. Rock strength criterion is a basic subject in mining engineering and petroleum engineering. It has important guiding significances to the process of underground energy exploitation. Different rocks have different strength envelopes. Most strength criteria have only one type of envelope in π plan. Thus, these criteria cannot predict different rock strengths accurately. Most criteria consider only the hydrostatic stress and the Lode angle effects and neglect their interaction. However, based on the experimental results in this study, there is an evident interaction between the two effects. In this study, a new strength criterion is proposed considering the hydrostatic stress and Lode angle effects, as well as the effect of hydrostatic stress on the Lode angle effect. Applicable results of previous experimental data showed that the proposed strength criterion has good applicability for different rocks. Compared with other strength criteria, this criterion has the advantage of being able to adjust the strength of the Lode angle effect based on the hydrostatic stress. This advantage allows the strength criterion to show different types of strength envelopes in the π plan and to accommodate different rocks under different stress states. The high incidence of restenosis after angioplasty has been the leading reason for the recurrence of coronary heart disease, substantially increasing the mortality risk for patients. However, current anti‐stenosis drug‐eluting stents face challenges due to their limited functions and long‐term safety concerns, significantly compromising their therapeutic effect. Herein, a stent‐free anti‐stenosis drug coating (denoted as Cur‐NO‐Gel) based on a peptide hydrogel is proposed. This hydrogel is formed by assembling a nitric oxide (NO) donor‐peptide conjugate as a hydrogelator and encapsulating curcumin (Cur) during the assembly process. Cur‐NO‐Gel has the capability to release NO upon β‐galactosidase stimulation and gradually release Cur through hydrogel hydrolysis. The in vitro experiments confirmed that Cur‐NO‐Gel protects vascular endothelial cells against oxidative stress injury, inhibits cellular activation of vascular smooth muscle cells, and suppresses adventitial fibroblasts. Moreover, periadventitial administration of Cur‐NO‐Gel in the angioplasty model demonstrate its ability to inhibit vascular stenosis by promoting reendothelialization, suppressing neointima hyperplasia, and preventing constrictive remodeling. This article discusses a study on the use of endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) as a treatment for acute ischemic stroke (AIS) within different time windows. The study analyzed data from the National Stroke Registry in China and found that EVT within 24 hours of stroke onset was associated with early neurological improvement. However, the proportion of functional improvement was lower compared to EVT within 6 hours. The study suggests the importance of shortening prehospital delay time and considering EVT beyond the recommended time window for better neurological outcomes. The flow state of gas in coals is very complicated. We should pay attention to whether the permeability calculated by Darcy's law is in accordance with the actual situation. We conducted an experiment on coal permeability and deformation under fixing confining pressure and increasing axial stress conditions. The objective is to investigate the variation of Reynolds number Re. In this study, the dynamic evolution of the Reynolds number is calculated under the relevant assumptions. The Reynolds number increases with an increase in the axial stress. In addition, the larger the value of initial Reynolds numbers, the greater the value of Re in the postpeak, and the possibility of nonlinear flow state is higher. Further, if the mass density (ρ) and fluid viscosity (μ) are constant, the decrease in the amplitudes of the flow rate is less than the increase in the equivalent diameter of the seepage path. Moreover, the tensile stress generated around the pores and fractures parallel or nearly parallel to the axial stress direction with increase in the axial stress results in an increase in the Reynolds numbers and equivalent diameter of the seepage path increase due to the development, expansion, and penetration of the cracks. Identifying driver mutations in cancer is notoriously difficult. To date, recurrence of a mutation in patients remains one of the most reliable markers of mutation driver status. However, some mutations are more likely to occur than others due to differences in background mutation rates arising from various forms of infidelity of DNA replication and repair machinery, endogenous, and exogenous mutagens. We calculated nucleotide and codon mutability to study the contribution of background processes in shaping the observed mutational spectrum in cancer. We developed and tested probabilistic pan-cancer and cancer-specific models that adjust the number of mutation recurrences in patients by background mutability in order to find mutations which may be under selection in cancer. We showed that mutations with higher mutability values had higher observed recurrence frequency, especially in tumor suppressor genes. This trend was prominent for nonsense and silent mutations or mutations with neutral functional impact. In oncogenes, however, highly recurring mutations were characterized by relatively low mutability, resulting in an inversed U-shaped trend. Mutations not yet observed in any tumor had relatively low mutability values, indicating that background mutability might limit mutation occurrence. We compiled a dataset of missense mutations from 58 genes with experimentally validated functional and transforming impacts from various studies. We found that mutability of driver mutations was lower than that of passengers and consequently adjusting mutation recurrence frequency by mutability significantly improved ranking of mutations and driver mutation prediction. Abstract Liquid catalytic hydrogenation is a green and cost-effective technique for the reductive removal of pollutants in water. Supported noble metals are the most frequently used catalysts in liquid phase catalytic hydrogenation, whereas marked catalyst deactivation is commonly identified. In this study, we coated supported Pd catalyst on carbon nanotube (denoted as Pd/CNT) by different overcoatings (including SiO 2 , carbon and N-doped carbon) to prevent catalyst deactivation. The activities of the coated catalysts for liquid phase catalytic hydrogenation reduction of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) differed with the overcoating properties. Negligible Cr(VI) conversion was observed on SiO 2 coated Pd/CNT, while feasible Cr(VI) reduction was identified on carbon coated (denoted as Pd/CNT@C) and N-doped carbon coated catalysts (denoted as Pd/CNT@CN). Pd/CNT@CN exhibited a much higher catalytic activity than Pd/CNT@C, which was ascribed to the stronger Cr(VI) adsorption on CN overcoating. The catalytic activity of Pd/CNT@CN was positively correlated with the conductivity and hydrophilicity of CN overcoating, which could be optimized by varying carbonization temperature. Furthermore, Pd/CNT@CN retained its initial activity after ten consecutive catalyst cycles without any deactivation, whereas Pd/CNT only retained 8.2% of its initial activity, reflecting much higher catalytic stability of Pd/CNT@CN than Pd/CNT. The findings in the present study highlight that liquid catalytic reduction using Pd/CNT@CN as the catalyst is a highly stable and effective method to remove Cr(VI) in water. Abstract Mullite castables are widely used in hot metal pretreatment processing equipment. In this work, the effects of alumina bubble particle size on the microstructure and physical properties of mullite castables were studied. Grey relational analysis is a useful method for analyzing patterns in multivariate cases. In this paper, the grey relational analysis was used to estimate the relationship between the properties of samples and the structure of alumina bubbles. Using grey analysis, the specific surface area of alumina bubbles was determined to have the greatest influence on the properties of apparent porosity, cold mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance. The hollow radius of alumina bubbles has the greatest relationship to bulk density, hot modulus of rupture, flow values and coefficient of thermal expansion of samples. Finally, the mullite castables with a high modulus of rupture and thermal shock resistance was obtained by adding alumina bubbles with a particle size between 0.5 and 1 mm. The high modulus of rupture was shown to be caused by the alumina bubble spherical shape, hollow structure and the appropriate bonding at the alumina bubble/matrix interface. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Monoiodoacetic acid (MIAA) is one of the highly toxic halogenated disinfection by-products, which is formed during water disinfection processes. Catalytic hydrogenation with supported noble metal catalyst is a green and effective technique for the transformation of halogenated pollutant, but its activity still needs to be identified. In this study, Pt nanoparticles were supported on CeO 2 modified γ-Al 2 O 3 (Pt/CeO 2 –Al 2 O 3) by chemical deposition method and the synergistic effect of Al 2 O 3 and CeO 2 on catalytic hydrodeiodination (HDI) of MIAA was systematically studied. Characterizations revealed that Pt dispersion could be improved by the introduced CeO 2 through the formation of Ce–O–Pt bond and MIAA adsorption could be facilitated by high Zeta potential of Al 2 O 3 component. Furthermore, optimal Ptn+/Pt0 could be obtained by adjusting CeO 2 deposition amount on Al 2 O 3 , which could effectively facilitate the activation of C–I bond. Therefore, Pt/CeO 2 –Al 2 O 3 exhibited remarkable catalytic activities and TOF values compared with those of Pt/CeO 2 and Pt/Al 2 O 3. Through detailed kinetic experiments and characterization, the extraordinary catalytic performance of Pt/CeO 2 –Al 2 O 3 can be attributed to the abundant Pt sites as well as the synergistic effect between CeO 2 and Al 2 O 3. Interleukin (IL)-36 is a member of the IL-1 superfamily, which includes three receptor agonists and one antagonist and exhibits a familial feature of inflammatory regulation. Distributed among various tissues, such as the skin, lung, gut and joints, the mechanism of IL-36 has been most completely investigated in the skin and has been used in clinical treatment of generalized pustular psoriasis. Meanwhile, the role of IL-36 in the intestine has also been under scrutiny and has been shown to be involved in the regulation of various intestinal diseases. Inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer are the most predominant inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the intestine, and multiple studies have identified a complex role for IL-36 in both of them. Indeed, inhibiting IL-36 signaling is currently regarded as a promising therapeutic approach. Therefore, the present review briefly describes the composition and expression of IL-36 and focuses on the role of IL-36 in intestinal inflammation and colorectal cancer. However, little is known about their high-quality genetic information and related research on environmental adaptation mechanisms of them. In this study, combined with PacBio and Illumina platforms, transcriptomic analysis was conducted on the roots, rachis, and pinna of S. brunoniana and A. latebrosa to identify genes and pathways involved in environmental adaptation. Additionally, based on the transcriptomic data of tree ferns, chloroplast genes were mined to analyze their gene expression levels and RNA editing events. Results: In the study, we obtained 11,625, 14,391 and 10,099 unigenes of S. brunoniana root, rachis, and pinna, respectively. Similarly, a total of 13,028, 11,431 and 12,144 unigenes were obtained of A. latebrosa root, rachis, and pinna, respectively. According to the enrichment results of differentially expressed genes, a large number of differentially expressed genes were enriched in photosynthesis and secondary metabolic pathways of S. brunoniana and A. latebrosa. Based on gene annotation results and phenylpropanoid synthesis pathways, two lignin synthesis pathways (H-lignin and G-lignin) were characterized of S. brunoniana. Among secondary metabolic pathways of A. latebrosa, three types of WRKY transcription factors were identified. Additionally, based on transcriptome data obtained in this study, reported transcriptome data, and laboratory available transcriptome data, positive selection sites were identified from 18 chloroplast protein-coding genes of four tree ferns. Among them, RNA editing was found in positive selection sites of four tree ferns. RNA editing affected the protein secondary structure of the rbcL gene. Furthermore, the expression level of chloroplast genes indicated high expression of genes related to the chloroplast photosynthetic system in all four species. Abstract: Carrier‐free nanoparticles with high drug loading have attracted increasing attention; however, in situ on‐demand drug release remains a challenge. Here, a novel near‐infrared (NIR) laser‐induced blasting carrier‐free nanodrug delivery system is designed and fabricated by coating doxorubicin (DOX) nanoparticles (DNPs) with a polydopamine film (PDA) that would prolong the blood circulation time of DNPs and avoid the preleakage of the DOX during blood circulation. Meanwhile, the NH4HCO3 is introduced to trigger in situ “bomb‐like” release of DOX for the production of carbon dioxide (CO2) and ammonia (NH3) gases driven by NIR irradiated photothermal effect of PDA. Both in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate that the carrier‐free nanovectors with high drug loading efficiency (85.8%) prolong tumor accumulation, enhance chemotherapy, achieve the synergistic treatment of chemotherapy and photothermal treatment, and do not induce any foreign‐body reaction over a three‐week implantation. Hence, the delicate design opens a self‐assembly path to develop PDA‐based NIR‐responsive multifunctional carrier‐free nanoparticles for tumor therapy. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Cell membrane-camouflaged nanoparticles for cancer therapy have received a burgeoning interest over the past years. However, the low drug loading and intratumoral release efficiency, and lack of precise targeting remains a big challenge; in addition, foreign carriers used may pose an expected burden in the course of metabolism. In this study, we designed and fabricated a novel NIR-responsive highly targeted carrier-free nanosystem by coating the exactly identical source of cracked cancer cell membranes (CCCMs) specifically derived from the homologous tumors onto the surface of the co-assembly nanoparticles of doxorubicin (DOX) and FDA-approved photothermal agent, indocyanine green (ICG). The nanosystems exhibited a high drug loading capacity (89.8%), cancer cell self-recognized ability and immune escape function. Further, the nanodrugs could be efficiently released for the membrane disturbance triggered by photothermal effect of ICG under NIR irradiation. The tumor-bearing mice model demonstrated that the self-carried DOX NPs@ICG@CCCM nanoparticles possessed a strong synergistic chemo-/photothermal therapeutic efficacy against tumors in vivo . The present strategy could be developed as a universal approach for designing and constructing carrier-free theranostic nanovehicles by intentionally selecting specific cancer cell membrane and the inner loading cargoes. Injecting lance is a key equipment for hot metal pretreatment. In this work, the lance castables with high mechanical properties and thermal shock resistance were obtained by adding alumina bubbles, due to its spherical shape and hollow structure. It is found that the addition of alumina bubble improves the flow values of castables. The bulk density values of samples with the addition of 4 wt% alumina bubbles (AB4) were the best of all the experimental castables. Alumina bubble addition is effective in heightening the thermal expansion, thermal conductivity of mullite castables and can resist the sharp decrease in thermal expansion above 1300 °C. The addition of alumina bubble can improve the mechanical strength of mullite castables. After heating at 1400 °C, a strong chemical bond forms between the bubbles and the binding phases. Due to the appropriate bonding at the alumina bubble/matrix interface, AB4 castable exhibits a relatively better thermal shock resistance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
