Lurasidone is a second-generation anti psychotic drug which has a high affinity for dopamine D2, serotonin 5-HT2A and 5-HT7 receptors. Several clinical trials in patients with schizophrenia indicated lurasidone' s effect on improving psychotic symptoms, affective symptoms and cognitive symptoms, and it also manifested fewer side effects on metabolic indicators. Based on the evidence from previous studies on lurasidone and clinical experiences of experts from China Mainland and Taiwan, this experts' advice has been formed with an aim to provide guidance on the use of lurasidone in clinical practice.
