Uno de los asuntos más polémicos y de mayor alcance social y cultural en relación con las lenguas en España ha sido el denominado conflicto lingüístico: su presencia en la prensa y, en general, en los medios de comunicación ha sido constante desde finales de los años setenta. En efecto, la prensa, en tanto que una de las instituciones más influyentes en la sociedad contemporánea, ha sido y sigue siendo un espacio propicio para tratar sobre la lengua en cualquiera de sus aspectos. A partir de la hipótesis de que los textos metalingüísticos en la prensa son una fuente privilegiada para estudiar la creación y propagación de ideologías sobre la lengua, se analiza el papel del columnismo lingüístico en la construcción y reproducción de una visión ideológica sobre el castellano que la enfrenta social y lingüísticamente al resto de lenguas del Estado. Se estudia un corpus formado por 154 textos desde una perspectiva sociolingüística y crítico-discursiva, se analizarán los recursos sobre los que se sostiene la construcción y la organización argumentativa del discurso sobre las lenguas del Estado en la España contemporánea y su relación con los mitos del idioma. One of the issues that is most controversial and that has the greatest social and cultural impact with regard to languages in Spain has been the so-called linguistic conflict, which has had a constant presence in the press and the media in general since the end of the 1970s. The press, as one of the most influential institutions in contemporary society, has been and remains a forum on linguistic issues, in all its facets. Based on the hypothesis that the metalinguistic texts in the press are a prime source for studying the creation and propagation of ideologies around language, we analyse the role of opinion articles covering language issues in the construction and reproduction of an ideological vision around Spanish which pits it, socially and linguistically, against the other languages of Spain. We study a corpus of 154 texts from a sociolinguistic and critical discourse-based standpoint, and analyse the foundations that provide the base for the construction and reasoning for the discourse on the languages of contemporary Spain and their relationship with the myths of language. Análisis multidimensional, caracterización y aplicaciones” (METAPRES-COLING).

La palabra creatividad tiene una historia muy reci ente en el léxico de español - 1983, Diccionario Manual de la RAE y, aunque está atestiguada desde los primeros años del siglo XX, las ocurrencias serán muy escasas hasta los años setenta. Por su parte, la definición ( remite al verbo crear , que presenta en español una etimología compleja. El objetivo de este trabajo es exam inar la genealogía lingüística y social del concepto de creatividad en español para lo que se prestará especial atención al estudio de los orígenes etimológicos y lexicográficos del térmi no, a los cambios en las definiciones y los matices de su combinatoria actual. Se verá entonces que, para que la palabra emergiera, la sociedad tuvo que desprenderse de numerosas inercias, por lo que la trayectoria del término sirve de ejemplo de proceso d ehumanización y secularización de la sociedad y la ciencia desde el siglo XIX . Se muestra, en definitiva, la vinculación lengua - sociedad a través del análisis de un concepto que ha acabado convirtiéndose en una seña de identidad de la sociedad del siglo XX I. Para el trabajo se han utilizado preferentemente los corpus de la Academia CORDE, CREA y CORPES XXI, además del Nuevo Tesoro Lexicográfico de la lengua española. The word creativity has a very recent history in the Spanish lexicon - 1983 in the Manual Dictionary of theRAE . Although the word is attested since the early years of the twentieth century, the occurrences will be very low until the seventies. On the other hand, the definition refers to the verb create, which presents a complex etymology in Spanish.The aim of this pape r is to examine the linguistic and social genealogy of the concept of creativity in Spanish. Special attention wil l be paid to the origins, the changes in the definitions and the current combinatorial of the word. It will be seen then that, in order for the word to emerge, society had to detach itself from numerous inertias, so the trajectory of the term serves as an example of the process of humanization and secularization of society and science since the 19th century. It shows, in short, the link between language and society through the analysis of a concept that has become a hallmark of 21st century society. In orde r to carry out the work, the corpus of the Academy, CORDE, CREA , CORPES XXI and the New Lexicographical Treasure of the Spanish language have been used.

La prensa es un espacio propicio no solo para la discusión sobre las lenguas, sino también para la propagación de determinadas ideologías y, en particular, para la generación de representaciones o imaginarios lingüísticos. Son estos marcos cognitivos capaces de orientar la percepción del hablante sobre las lenguas en términos de pureza, nacionalismo, represión, imperialismo, etcétera. El objetivo del trabajo es examinar la teoría del Imaginario Lingüístico de Anne-Marie Houdebine y analizar, desde esta perspectiva, cómo se construyen verbalmente y se trasmiten determinados Imaginario(s) Lingüístico(s) a través del género de las Columnas sobre la lengua (CSL). Para ello se ha seleccionado un corpus de 207 CSL cuyo tema es la diversidad lingüística y la convivencia de lenguas en España. Se mostrará la pertinencia de las herramientas analíticas para comprender construcciones ideológicas antagónicas sobre la lengua. The press is a suitable space not only for the discussion about languages but also for the propagation of certain ideologies and, in particular, for the generation of representations or linguistic images. These cognitive frameworks are capable of guiding the perception of the speaker on languages in terms of purity, nationalism, repression, imperialism and so on. The objective of the work is to examine the theory of Linguistic Imaginary of Anne Marie Houdebine and analyze, from the proposed methodology, how certain Linguistic Imaginary (s) are constructed verbally and transmitted through the genre of the Columns on the language (CSL). To this end, it has been selecte a corpus of 207 CSL whose theme is linguistic diversity and the coexistence of languages in Spain. It will show the relevance of former analytical tools to understand antagonistic ideological constructions about the language. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar, a partir de la Teoría de la Valoración, el papel de los mecanismos lingüísticos valorativos como estrategias argumentativas en un tipo de texto metalingüístico que denominamos Columnas sobre la Lengua (CSL). Asumimos que el discurso sobre la lengua no solo transmite información, sino que, a través de él, se construyen conceptos e identidades sociales tanto por lo que se refiere a la propia lengua como a sus actores o sujetos. Para ello, se han seleccionado los 32 artículos escritos por Julio Casares en el diario ABC, entre marzo de 1959 y enero de 1964, bajo el título “La Academia española trabaja”. Within the framework of the Appraisal Theory, the aim of this paper is to analyze the role of linguistic appraisal mechanisms as argumentative strategies in a type of metalinguistic text here defined as Columns on Language (CSL). We assume that discourse on language not only transmits information but also constructs social concepts and identities as regards both the language itself and its actors or subjects. For this purpose, we selected 32 articles written by Julio Casares for the newspaper ABC between March 1959 and January 1964 under the title “The Spanish Academy works”. A partir de los datos y modelos actuales para el estudio de la lengua desde la perspectiva económica –language economics– el objetivo de este trabajo es mostrar cómo se transmite y percibe el valor económico de la lengua española en los medios de comunicación y cómo las noticias al respecto contribuyen a construir un imaginario legitimador sobre el valor del idioma. Para ello se analiza un corpus formado por textos de la prensa periódica española comprendidos entre los años 2001 y 2017. El análisis cuantitativo muestra la discontinuidad/permanencia del discurso a lo largo del tiempo y su vinculación con la naturaleza de los medios. El análisis cualitativo pone en evidencia los tres rasgos que identifican este tipo de discurso: la insistencia en la cuantificación, la potenciación del valor simbólico de la lengua y la repetición y el agotamiento temático. Se trata de un trabajo de orientación empírico-crítica que utiliza herramientas de las ciencias económicas y del análisis sociodiscursivo. Starting from the data and current models for the study of the language from the economic perspective –language economics–, this paper aims to show how the economic value of the Spanish language is perceived in the media and how news about it contribute to construct an imaginary that legitimates the value of language. To this end, a corpus consisting of texts from the Spanish periodical press between the years 2001 and 2017 is analyzed. The quantitative analysis shows the discontinuity/permanence of the discourse over time and its linkage with the media. The qualitative analysis reveals the three features that identify this type of discourse: the insistence on quantification, the enhancement of the symbolic value of language and the repetition and thematic exhaustion. This investigation is an empirical-critical work that uses tools from both Economic science and Socio-Discursive analysis.

The aim of the paper consists in showing the relevance of ethos-based rhetorical strategies in a journalistic genre called Columns on language (CSLs) in the Spanish press. CSLs are authored by persons of recognized prestige who take position with regard to an issue, often related to correct language usage. The argumentative importance that the speaking subject reveals to have in these kinds of texts has actually led us to study the mechanisms able to construct his/her discursive image. These mechanisms, involved in shaping the author’s ethos, are supposed to raise the readers’ level of support. Four presentational columns belonging to different authors, years, and journals have been analyzed in order to explore the persuasive resources of ethos. This work is written in the framework of the Researching Project METAPRES, “Metalinguistic Discourse in Spanish Press (1940-Today): Multidimensional Analysis and Generic Characterization” with reference FFI2015-65917.
