Indonesia is a maritime country with many traditional fishermen still relies on land-based cold storage. While there is a limitation of space and energy consumption in the most fishermen’s vessel, conventional vapor compression cycle cannot be used. Thus, thermoelectric based cold storage is a promising way to overwhelm that problem. However, the Coefficient of Performance (CoP) of that system is currently much lower than the conventional vapor compression cycle. Many researches have been developed in order to increase the efficiency of this system. This report addresses the current development of a suitable thermoelectric cold storage system as well as the trend of research objective, method, and the forecast of thermoelectric cold storage research in the future.
