Garbage classification is significant to alleviate the pressure of household waste management in rural areas and promote green development. Based on the micro survey data of 2228 households in rural areas of Jiangsu Province, this paper discusses the impact of internet use on the garbage classification's willingness and behavior based on the planned behavior theory. The results show that: (1) There is a deviation between willingness and behavior. Ninety percent of the surveyed farmers were willing to do garbage classification, but the garbage classification rate was only 53%. (2) Internet use has a positive effect on the willingness and behavior of farmers to classify garbage, and it can promote the willingness to change behavior and reduce the deviation between willingness and behavior. Specifically, internet use increased by 1 unit, the probability of farmers having neither willingness nor behavior, having both willingness and behavior, and only having willingness but not having the behavior decreased by 5.4%, increased by 13%, and decreased by 7.5%, respectively. (3) Further analysis according to different internet access methods shows that mobile internet access and mixed internet access can have a positive impact on farmers' willingness and behavior in relation to garbage classification, while computer internet access has no significant impact on farmers' willingness and behavior in relation to garbage classification. (4) Internet use can enhance farmers' willingness and behavior in relation to garbage classification by improving their knowledge, behavioral, and environmental cognition. Specifically, the mediating effects of knowledge, behavioral, and environmental cognition on willingness were 71.48%, 21.72%, and 40.49%, respectively, and the mediating effects on behavior were 89.47%, 8.89%, and 18.81%, respectively. Based on this, this paper puts forward the policy recommendations of strengthening the hardware and software construction of the internet, adopting diversified propaganda methods of garbage classification, and improving the social supervision and restraint mechanism. Industrial structure upgrading plays an important role in improving economic development efficiency. Taking Jiangsu as the study subject, the paper selects panel data from 2005 to 2018 and performs dynamic panel models and threshold models to analyze the influence mechanism of foreign direct investment (FDI) and green technology innovation on industrial structure upgrading (including rationalization and advancement). The results show that FDI acts negatively on industrial structure upgrading, exhibiting U-shaped relationship with advancement, in contrast, green technology innovation shows a positive contribution to upgrading. In addition, rationalization is limited by fixed assets growing but increases with rising education levels. An increase in fixed assets and education both have a positive effect on advancement. Further, FDI plays a facilitating role in advancement considering the positive moderating effect of green technology innovation. Therefore, the study provides a theoretical reference for the development path of foreign investment and industrial structure upgrade breakthrough in Jiangsu. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Government policy is crucial to control air pollution, while industrial structure upgrading and green technology progress are needed to optimize air pollution control performance (APCP). Meanwhile, policy spillovers from one region to another affect the APCP. This study applied systems theory to explain the mechanisms that drive both environmental policy spillover and APCP. We evaluated the APCPs of 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2006 to 2020 using a super-efficiency SBM-DEA model. We then analyzed the paths by which industry and technology drive APCP using a spatial Durbin model (SDM) and investigated heterogeneity across different regional governance groups. The effects generated by the regulatory spillover of air pollutants were decomposed into four subsystems: chain transmission effect, vibration effect, ripple effect, and halo effect. The results show the following: (1) Throughout the study period, the APCP of most of the regional governance groups in the Yangtze River Delta region showed a fluctuating trend with continuous improvement. The APCP was higher and more stable in the Zhejiang Province in the southeast, and lower and more drastic in the Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces in the north, and shows a significant positive spatial correlation. (2) Industrial structure upgrading and green technology progress had different impact paths on the APCP. Industrial structure upgrading had a significant indirect contribution to the APCP, but the direct effect was not significant. Green technology progress had a significant direct inhibitory effect and an indirect promoting effect on the APCP. (3) In the optimization path of the APCP, industrial structure upgrading played a more important role than green technology progress, but they did not reinforce each other's enhancement of the APCP. (4) There was regional heterogeneity in the impacts of industry and technology on the APCP. Prior scholarships have documented that green human resource management practices have performance enabling effects on a firm's green performance. However, there is a dearth of studies that empirically model the extent to which green innovation culture moderates the relationship between green human resource practices and the firm's green performance. To address this gap, this paper established two-fold objectives. First, to examine the effects of green human resource practices and green innovation culture on firm green performance. Second, to model the extent to which green innovation culture moderates the relationship between green human resource management and manufacturing firms' green performance in China. This was done using data obtained from an extensive scale survey of 300 employees in Chinese manufacturing firms located in the Jiangsu Province. The study suggests that green human resource management practices which include recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management and appraisal, reward and payment, and employee involvement and leadership have a significant effect on green or environmental performance. The study also suggests that green innovation which includes green product innovation culture and green process innovation culture enhances firm green performance. Our paper further suggests that firms that integrate green human resource management practices and green innovation culture are associated with higher green performance than firms that practice green human resource management only. The agricultural organization based on digital platforms in C2F (Company–Platform–Farmers) may be an effective way to reduce the increased risk of green production caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, but the specific mechanism and impact involved are unclear. Applying risk cognition and decision theory, we built the theoretical framework on platform organization, pandemic risk, perception value, and green production continuity, and ascertained the impact effects and path using the PLS-SEM method. We found that the risk of COVID-19 overflow had a significant impact on farmers' green production continuity by mediating perception value, especially regarding reduced green technology adoption intention and increased cost of living. Utilizing perfect platform value cognition, participation co-operation, access and benefit distribution, and safeguard and restraint measures of platform organization in C2F, we offered a new approach to reduce the green production risks caused by COVID-19, such as material and labor shortages, financial pressure, sales channel blockages, and price volatility. We explained the behavior-moderating motivation of farmers with different risk preferences and subjective norms in relation to tackling COVID-19. We should aim to perfect the functions of digital platform organizations to optimize the benefit linkages in C2F, accelerate farmers' digitization ability cultivation to increase the cognitive risk level, and strengthen the policy guidance of COVID-19 prevention to reduce the influence of farmers' subjective norms. Global warming caused by greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions has become a paramount problem for all countries to solve. The construction industry emits 36 percent of the GHG in all sectors globally. China is the largest carbon emitter in the world, and Jiangsu province has been used as a test bed for reforming and developing modern construction industry in China. The aim of the study is to explore the driving factors of the total carbon emissions from the construction industry (CECI) in the provincial region using a hybrid Logarithmic Mean Divisia Index (LMDI) model. The findings of the study indicate that: 1) Indirect and operational CECI account for the largest proportion (52.22% and 46.02% in 2016 respectively); 2) The driving factors of CECI in Jiangsu province are the area factor (contribution from 2005 to 2016 is 100.22%) and the output value intensity factor (86.56%) while the restraining factor is the carbon emission intensity (−80.35%). Discussion and implicated policies, such as improving the energy efficiency of related industries and using green building materials have been elaborated at the end of the study. The decomposition and calculation method presented in this paper provides a useful tool for policymakers to evaluate CECI of a province or state and formulate appropriate carbon policies to reduce emissions and promote low-carbon development in a region. Green technology innovation is the strategy adopted by the manufacturing industry in implementing green innovation. Choosing the right green technology innovation path is crucial to the development of green innovation in manufacturing industry. From the perspective of niche theory, the paper constructs the green technology innovation trend indicators of manufacturing industry, and builds a multi-layer comprehensive evaluation model by using cloud model tools. Taking the green technology of manufacturing industry in Jiangsu Province as an example, the empirical analysis reveals that from 2012 to 2016, Jiangsu Province manufactures. The ecostate value of green technology innovation has been continuously improving, while the ecorole value has fluctuated. The comprehensive niche score has gradually boosted, indicating that the overall development trend of manufacturing green technology innovation capability in Jiangsu Province goes well. When advancing the level of innovation and formulating green technology innovation capability promotion strategies, macro-control and supervision for Jiangsu Province's manufacturing green technologies should be emphasized, environmental management optimized, stimulation of green innovative talents strengthened, and green technology R&D and service centers intensified.
