The paper examined the information needs and use of non-academic staff in University of Africa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The researchers adopted descriptive survey design. The population of the study comprised of 100 non-academic staff out of which 57 were randomly selected. Four (4) research questions guided this study. Data was collected using the questionnaire. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics such as frequency count and simple percentage. The findings revealed that non-academic staff had diverse information needs based on their work roles and they consult multiple information sources to meet their information needs. Regarding the purpose for using information, it was established that they sought information mainly for decision making, job performance and for general awareness/updating knowledge. Inadequate information retrieval skills, poor time management, lack of awareness about information resources in the library etc were some of the challenges encountered by the non-academic staff during information seeking and use. Based on the findings, the researchers wish to recommend that since universities have significant number of non-teaching staff, the library should provide regular training program on information literacy skills, provide awareness services and encourage them to make regular use of the multiple information sources available in the library. Introduction: Histopathology Request Forms (HRFs) serve as interphase between clinicians and pathologists in making diagnosis of tissue pathology. Inadequacies of the completion of HRFs have been a source of major frictions between the two groups of physicians. Various reports have highlighted this inadequacy. The need for adequate information on the HRF to be standardized cannot be overemphasized. Aim: The paper aims to evaluate the histopathology request forms from institutions in Nigeria and to propose an improved prostate disease-specific histopathology request form. Methodology: Histopathological request forms from some major Nigerian health institutions were analyzed for adequacy based on required information for a standardized histological reportage. A request form specific for suspected prostate diseases was designed from the review of literature. Results: Histopathology request forms (HRFs) from sixteen Nigerian health institutions were received from all the geopolitical zones of the country following a request. All the HRFs were neither organ nor disease specific. None of the HRFs was adjudged to be satisfactory to produce enough information adequate for comprehensive histopathology reportage. A prostate disease-specific histological request form is proposed following review of literature. Discussion: The need for a comprehensive prostate-specific HRF cannot be overemphasized to improve the relationships between surgeons and pathologists and to improve reportage of prostate pathologies and the management of prostatic diseases. The paper attempts to establish ways in which school libraries in Nigeria can make available the right information resources to students suffering from dyslexia. Dyslexia is a mental disability and individuals that are dyslexic find it difficult to read, comprehend, lack ability to synchronize letters amongst others. The paper tried to establish what dyslexia is, the cause and symptoms. It also identified what stands as a barrier to efficient library use for the dyslexic. It also looked into the information resources that could be used by a dyslexic to get maximum satisfaction of having used the library. These resources include media resources such as audio books, music and pictograms. The role of stakeholders in ensuring that school libraries are established and well equipped was also discussed. The paper concludes that all hands must be on deck to ensure that disabled student, especially the dyslexic are not left out in the information world. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
