Digital repositories play a crucial role in organizing and preserving vast collections of digital content. Efficiently ingesting large amounts of data into these repositories is a common challenge faced by institutions. This paper explores the use of bulk upload techniques in DSpace, an open-source digital repository software, to streamline the ingestion process and enhance repository management. We discuss the benefits of bulk upload in terms of time savings, metadata consistency, and scalability. Additionally, we delve into the technical aspects of implementing bulk upload in DSpace, covering the Simple Archive Format (SAF), metadata mapping, and handling of digital files. Furthermore, we highlight real-world examples and best practices for utilizing bulk upload in DSpace. By adopting this approach, institutions can significantly improve their efficiency in managing and preserving digital content, ensuring a seamless user experience, and facilitating knowledge dissemination. Here, an experimental method of research/case study technique is utilized to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the design model for implementation of the bulk uploading of documents in Dspace at Bennett University is practiced. The feedback is gathered in order to identify the flaws and make the necessary improvements. Simple Archive Format (SAF) is a utility that converts Bitstream/Content files plus a metadata.csv file into a Simple Archive Format package, making bulk uploads to the DSpace repository simple. All question papers were digitized using a high-quality scanner, an Excel file with Dublin core information was created, and Excel was converted to CSV format in order to import all old question papers in bulk into the Bennett University Digital Repository Services. In 1994 cognitive scientist Stevan Harnad made what he defined a "subversive proposal" to his colleagues: «immediately start serf-archiving their papers on the Internet». Since then, institutional repositories have been chaotically developing, alongside disciplinary repositories. In the early XXI Century the public debate was centered on their purposes and therefore on what they were supposed to contain; librarians joined the discussion and contributed to it by implementing descriptive standards such as Dublin Core and interoperability protocols (OAI-PMH). The themes under discussion were closely related to bibliographic and authority control, given that the quality of metadata has a profound impact on the quality of the services offered to users. Presently, we are still trying to answer some of those old questions: what (or whom) are IRs for? Is bibliographic control so necessary within an environment that has never failed in self-archiving? Can we consider IRs a bibliographic tool? Open data and openness is a phenomenal paradigm shift in the knowledge society. The purpose of the present paper is to identify the open data repositories especially re3data.org. The authors used re3data.org registry as the source for the present study. Re3data. org is a registry which indexes the data repositories, i.e. mainly open data repositories. There were a total of 2327 repositories found during the study. The results of the study indicate that the data repositories consist the research data largely on Science and Technology discipline; the European and North American countries are the major contributors to the data repositories; the repositories indexed in re3data use variety of software; the data sets are mainly available in English language and the Dublin core metadata standard is widely used by the research data repositories. Institutional repositories are archives for collecting and disseminating digital copies of the intellectual output of institutions. Linked open data is to expose and connect pieces of data, information, and knowledge on the Semantic Web. This paper studies how BIBFRAME 2.0 can be used to describe objects in institutional repositories, with the goal of bringing together efforts within two communities devoted to openness. We examine a sample of mappings and conversions from Dublin Core to BIBRAME 2.0 ontology to see if BIBFRAME 2.0 will increase visibility of local digital collections on the Web. This article highlights the practical experiences about the implementation of LIDO metadata schema in DSpace for managing museum and cultural resources. LIDO is a domain specific metadata schema for museum and cultural resources. Presently, library and information centers are not only building their digital institutional repository, but also museums, archiving centers are interesting to develop their digital archiving system. Before digital archiving, it is mandate to keep in mind that standard metadata schema should be provided for proper items or objects or resources for building digital archiving system for museum and cultural resources. DSpace is a popular system for building digital; institutional repositories. The DSpace uses general metadata schema i.e. Dublin Core metadata for generic resources. But it is very flexible to adopt a new metadata schema for building specific types of resources. This work includes how the DSpace is used for building a digital archiving system for museum and cultural resources and also shows the details steps of methodology to meet the experiences.
