In the age of increasing process automation and data-driven decision-making, ensuring the reliability, transparency and usability of data is of paramount importance. In this context, the concept of "data observability" has aroused the interest of practitioners and there is also a lot of grey content on it. On the other hand, there is a lack of academic effort to define and build on the concept. This conference paper will therefore examine the importance of "data observability" in modern data ecosystems. The focus is on the definition and characterisation of the concept, the differentiation from other concepts (e.g. data quality, data monitoring, data discovery, data operations) and why this concept appears to be so important in an increasingly data-driven world. In addition, the concept of "data observability" is categorised in the dynamically developing research field of data governance. For this purpose, a multivocal literature review (MLR) was conducted, a form of systematic literature review (SLR) which, in addition to the published (formal) literature (e.g. journal and conference papers), also includes and brings together the grey literature (e.g. blog posts, videos and white papers). The results show that the concept of "data observability" has the potential to revolutionise the way companies manage, analyse and derive insights from their data, ultimately leading to more informed and confident decision-making. Scientific spoof papers as a literary and fictional genre encompass the works where fantastical content is infused into any text that methodically and consistently presents the standard rhetorical features of the scientific discourse usual in real scientific practice, especially in the natural sciences, thus achieving literariness through fictionalization. A representative example of this genre are the papers by Isaac Asimov on the imaginary molecule called thiotimoline, which can be seen as central in a long historical series of works belonging to this discursive genre from Gustav Fechner in the 19th century to contemporary authors. Among them, there are a number of writers known for their absurdist and fantastical works, such as Alfred Jarry, Tommaso Landolfi, Giorgio Manganelli, George Saunders, etc. Their literary spoof papers are briefly considered in a comprehensive historical overview. White papers are commonly produced by for-profit organizations to market high-tech products and services and are often created by technical writers. But writers of this genre have little evidence-based research to guide them. To fill this void, the authors tested a rhetorical move structure with a sample of 20 top-rated marketing white papers and found that, despite the lack of industry standards for white papers, those written for marketing purposes display similar rhetorical moves: introducing the business problem, occupying the business solution niche, prompting action, establishing credibility, and providing disclaimers or legal considerations. From Twitterature to Instapoetry, several literary forms owe their genesis and propagation to social networking sites, or SNSs. Amongst these, Instapoetry has enjoyed the most notoriety, though at the cost of its demerits overshadowing its merits. One of Instapoetry's merits is its ability to induce a sense of nostalgia with the help of evocative aesthetic modalities deployed by a poet during an Instapoem's formulation. Some of these aesthetic modalities include the typewriter font, black and white images, sepia or Polaroid images, vintage stationary, calligraphy, and textured paper. Leaning on the concept of "nosthetics" or nostalgic aesthetics proposed by Tanja Grubnic, this paper decodes the temporal hypermediacy prominent in the works of American Instapoet and photographer Tyler Knott Gregson, particularly in his first poetry collection, chasers of the light: poems from the typewriter series. Published in 2014, the collection possesses a temporal aura which not only romanticizes the past but also conveys the present as a part of the past by impersonating pre-digital analog techniques and materials. Through Gregson's collection, this paper aims at understanding the various designs or ploys behind the habituation of nostalgic sensibilities and relics in modern digital creative expressions that have come to dominate the current field of cultural production. This paper reveals how Gregson's works resurrect, temporalize, nostalgize, restore, rehabilitate, remember, reflect, conserve, eternalize, memorialize, physicalize, sensualize, play, beguile, daydream, journey, mask, elevate, legitimize, and tout. The paper ends with a conclusion highlighting the importance of Instapoetry with regards to the preservation and continuation of historical literary practices, and with a suggestion encouraging further scholarly exploration on the topic. This article presents a comparative analysis of Thomas Carlyle's Sartor Resartus and Francis Sylvester Mahony's The Reliques of Father Prout, which both appeared in monthly instalments in Fraser's Magazine in the 1930s. It examines the commodified, reader-centred aesthetic of London's periodical culture, with emphasis on Carlyle's reimagining of metropolitan literary convention in his pseudotranslation from the German. It further explores how Mahony adapts and politicizes Carlyle's 'cross-cultural' model in his Catholic unionist reversal of traditional British–Irish cultural relations. In the process, it investigates Scottish and Irish attempts to provide a decentred, post-Romantic rereading of the metropolis from the regional peripheries. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Using a translation lens, we explore templates for writing ethnography in organization studies and their evolution over time through the analysis of all ethnographic papers published in the premier journal Administrative Science Quarterly, 1956-2018. We found three templates of ethnographic writing. Few early ethnographic papers resemble travelogues, as they use theory to explain a unique case based on firsthand experiences of the author. Most studies read like detective stories, using extensive, quantified data from a case and systematically analyzing it to advance theory. This template has remained predominant over time. Finally, some ethnographic papers read like postmodern detective stories, in that they attempt to create knowledge from lived experience, while also hinting at the partiality of this knowledge. This template appeared around the turn of the century but is today rare. The overall low number of ethnographies and the lasting hegemony of the ethnography as detective story template reflect the strict disciplining of ethnography into the emulation of positivist research, constraining knowledge creation in organization studies. We conclude by offering researchers some strategies to recover the strengths of templates available in the past to broaden the boundaries of existing norms for writing ethnography today. This paper investigates possible upper and lower bounds for the numerical radii of 2 × 2 operator matrices. One of the more salient features of Greek and Roman literature is its archival impulse expressed in the tendency to incorporate lists, enumerations, and catalogues. From Homer's manifold catalogues, via classical historiographers, to Roman poets and beyond, catalogues and lists seem ubiquitous in ancient literature, and ancient authors catalogued all sorts of items: from ships, to war dead, to dog names, to mention but a few. But not only so in literature: in documentary sources with their lists of magistrates, victors, tributes, taxes, and more, we witness the same appetite for creation of order and taxonomy. This is the phenomenon that the edited volume Lists and Catalogues in Ancient Literature and Beyond tackles in sixteen chapters, prefaced by a substantial introduction penned by the editors. As they observe, lists are indeed fashionable in literary studies these days, and the volume aims to provide a theoretically informed overview of the variety of lists and catalogues in ancient literature. The first of the four sections consists of two wide-ranging and inspired papers that provide a theoretical background: Mainberger's piece looks for a site of meaning in a list by analysing, no less, the table of contents of the very volume in which the article is printed, while von Contzen tackles ontological problems and establishes a set of criteria for the assessment and description of a list, before turning to the pragmatics and highlighting the effects that lists may have in the moment of reception: 'the list is a narrative fascinosum, a literary form that startles and entertains; that attracts and repels at the same time' (51). Digital transformation has emerged as a pervasive force in today's rapidly evolving world, touching almost every sector and industry. In the higher education sector, in which education, research, and knowledge dissemination hold paramount significance for society, the notion of digital transformation per se becomes particularly important. This paper focuses specifically on higher education, acknowledging that it exists in a broader environment. In this work, qualitative methods were applied to explore the meaning and scope of digital transformation in higher education institutions. The systematic literature review formed the basis for in-depth interviews with experts in the discipline to explore the meaning and scope of digital transformation in higher education institutions. Then, for the purpose of preparing the case study, the concepts that emerged from the systematic literature review and interviews with experts were grouped together through a keyword-based pattern. Lastly, a case study was conducted at a Greek university with the aim of better understanding the way in which university members of a particular higher education institution perceive the meaning and scope of digital transformation. Our analysis provides valuable insights into higher education institutions for decision-makers and those involved in digital transformation initiatives, offering a comprehensive definition of digital transformation in higher education institutions. The main subject of our paper is the problem of didactic grasping of literary genres in the process of literary education at the lower secondary level. Pupils gradually encounter genological terms within of literary education and acquire basic knowledge about the types of literary genres and their genre codes. Through the designed activities, we pursue the adoption of these hard-to-grasp, abstract, genre codes and their features through experiential learning during the educational process. In the activities, we provide the pupil with concrete tasks, with the help of which they become familiar with the necessary knowledge and with the aesthetic component. By proposing activities, in this paper we try to deal with the didactic problem of teaching genre codes without forcing and preserving the artistic-aesthetic reading of literary texts. The purpose of this paper, which offers some academic reflection situated within the realms of urban studies and ecocriticism, is to identify and define a new literary genre - the textual urban biotravel. The author of this paper considers literary representations of the genre to be based on the following texts: Atlas dziur i szczelin (Atlas of Potholes and Cracks) by Michał Książek, Warszawa dzika (Wild Warsaw) by Arkadiusz Szaraniec, Wszystkie okna dla oknówek (Every Window for Martins) by Paweł Pstrokoński, Pozwól rzece płynąć (Let the River Flow) by Michał Cichy, Rzeki, których nie ma (Rivers That Don't Exist) by Maciej Robert, and, to some extent, Miasto do zjedzenia (Edible City) by Przemysław Owczarek and Dwanaście srok za ogon (The Birds they Sang) by Stanisław Łubieński. Textual urban biodramas, a genre of textual passages connected with maintaining an urban-nature balance rather than modernisation, are an example of rurbanalia - body of literature engaged with the idea of feral cities. In these biotravels, the flâneur is replaced by the biodrifter - a mudwalker and brushcrawler. The author distinguishes two types of textual urban biotravels: the immersive and the hauntological. Within the literary domain, genres function as fundamental organizing concepts that provide readers, publishers, and academics with a unified framework. Genres are discrete categories that are distinguished by common stylistic, thematic, and structural components. They facilitate the categorization process and improve our understanding of a wide range of literary expressions. In this paper, we introduce a new dataset for genre classification of Russian books, covering 11 literary genres. We also perform dataset evaluation for the tasks of binary and multi-class genre identification. Through extensive experimentation and analysis, we explore the effectiveness of different text representations, including stylometric features, in genre classification. Our findings clarify the challenges present in classifying Russian literature by genre, revealing insights into the performance of different models across various genres. Furthermore, we address several research questions regarding the difficulty of multi-class classification compared to binary classification, and the impact of stylometric features on classification accuracy. Background: More than 30 years ago, Harmon distinguished developmental research articles (RAs), which propose a solution to a problem, from experimental RAs, but the developmental format has received little attention. Literature review: Genre analysis of RAs has been largely restricted to articles following the standard experimental/Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion (IMRD) format, thereby excluding many developmental engineering articles. Recently, a textbook proposed Introduction, Process, Testing, Conclusion (IPTC) as a prototypical format for electrical engineering RAs, but this format has not yet been demonstrated from a corpus. Research questions: 1. What is the macrostructure of electrical engineering RAs? 2. What are the characteristic features of each division of electrical engineering RAs? Methodology: Section headings, wordcount, and notable features were analyzed for 75 RAs from 15 electrical engineering journals and compared with both IPTC and Harmon's developmental structure. Results: Only one article, a case study, followed IMRD. Sixty-seven developmental RAs followed the IPTC format. These are distinguished by the second division (P), where the new solution is described, written in extended style, comprising several sections with headings specific to the research. A paragraph at the end of the Introduction describing the organization of the paper, the location of the theoretical framework and testing methods, and a ubiquitous Conclusion also differ from IMRD. Seven developmental RAs exhibited a hybrid format with the well-known IMRD section headings superimposed on an IPTC structure. Conclusions: Most electrical engineering articles are developmental and follow IPTC format. The present paper focuses on how memory plays an important role in reconstructing the narrative of partition that emerges from personal histories of individual experiences and family units. As the generations are passing away, the people who experienced partition first-hand are on the verge of disappearance. What remains is second-hand information from the younger generations who are the storehouses of the experiences, stories and tales narrated to them by their parents and grandparents. Largely, a sense of amnesia, forgetting and erasure challenges the articulation of these experiences. As a third-person narrator, belonging to one such family, the researcher has made an attempt to document her family history. The paper lays focus on revival and re-membering the family eidos that reveals the veil of forgotten or hidden histories. One of the motives is also to recapture the momentous moments that defined the life of the people who left their homes and moved to other parts of the country. Remembering has been considered as a methodological tool to understand partition from the common people's perspective and create alternate history that examines the official accounts and their authenticity regarding partition. The fragmented memories have enabled writers to engage with literary forms that narrativises partition through short stories, novels and others forms of writing. The paper also discusses the challenges and limitations of fragmented memories and the complications involved in the creative process while engaging with real life experiences and fiction. The authors of the paper introduce the readers to the context of the literary education in Czech schools. In Czech milieu were hold many polemic discussions, that are known at least since the year 1890. Into that discussions were involved big personalities of conterporary cultural live, among others Hubert Gordon Schauer, František Krejčí, Jaroslav Vlček, Otakar Hostinský, Vilém Mathesius and Jan Mukařovský. In many casesthay evaluated teaching of literature as distant from the life of a young generation, too historically oriented, and pointed out its deficient connection with aesthetics of a literary work. They held against excessive me morization as contrary to the little emphasis put on reading and analysis of literary work. The authors of the paper are strongly convinced that even after more than 130 years of polemic discussions about the form of literary education and a series of reforms (which cannot even be taken into account because it is not clear where one reform ends and another begins), the real curriculum of literary education has not fundamentally changed. The paper proposes that Neil Gaiman's critically acclaimed children's novel Coraline (2002) is a successful example of hybrid and crossover literature as it tells an empowering growingup story, equally rewarding for young and adult readers, by combining themes and motifs pertinent to several different literary genres. By employing literary features of Gothic, fantasy, and coming-of-age novels (Bildungsroman), Gaiman tells a story about a girl who discovers a secret door in her new home. The door represents an entrance into a dark and dangerous parallel world, which prompts her to embark on a hero's journey. By saving both her parents and herself, Coraline finds her own identity as well as love for those around her. In its conceptualisation of Coraline as a nomadic subject, the novel represents her growing- up as an affirmative process, despite its numerous challenges. This confirms the paper's thesis that the reception of Gothic literature for children has empowering and positive effects, whereas Gothic literature for adults aims at destabilising the subject and questioning extant social practices. Ethnography as a discipline was formerly used by the colonizer to construct exotic notions of the cultures of the lands they occupied. In recent times, the discipline has entered new terrains through experimentations of various genres and modes of writing. A medical surgeon by profession, Kavery Nambisan, the author of The Scent of Pepper, accounts for the life of an ethnic tribal minority group-the Kodavas. The region painted in her canvas is Kodagu (Coorg), a small enclave in the hills of the south western coast of India. Her close acquaintance with the Kodava community to which she belongs, lends authenticity to her narrative. In chronicling the saga of the Kodavas, the text could also be seen as an attempt made by the novelist to preserve their ethnicity from the onslaught of westernization and migration. This paper purports to examine how the novelist borrows from the strategies of ethnography to effectively convey the cultural experiences and everyday lives of the Kodavas. It analyses how Nambisan has effectively merged the two different modes of narrative production- the scientific mode of narration with the fictional one. The paper further explores how the novelist/ethnographer shifts roles as insider/outsider offering subjective /objective perspectives to represent the ethnic minority of Kodagu. This paper presents war literature as a distinctive genre intertwined with various schools of social thought and literary criticism including nationalism, social realism, and commitment. It puts forward a definition of war literature and the history of its emergence. It also attempts to explore some gray areas in war literature, relating to its artistic and creative modes of writing, its biases and prejudices. It questions the principles of authenticity and representation in this literary genre, addressing the contestation between reality and fiction, aesthetics and ideology, which dominate the discourse of postcolonial studies. The paper chooses Palestinian literature as a model case study, discussing the effects of the Sartrean school of commitment, Arabized in the concept of Adab al-Iltizam, on the creativity and individuality of writers. It discusses some of the general characteristics and themes of Palestinian literature, moving from early war literature (1948) to more contemporary works (1990s-), and presents how some writers manage to walk the thin line between literary representation and national commitment and succeed, without falling into the quagmire of propaganda or mundanity, to depict a national cause still subjected to colonialism in a postcolonial era. This paper offers detailed examples of how research-based learning principles can be translated into the instructional decisions involved in designing an engineering course. The redesign of the specific course on environmental geotechnics was prompted by transforming a lecture-based course to an online version. The implemented changes are compatible with research findings on learning, which are distilled in the literature in the form of the learning principles reviewed herein. For presentation purposes, the changes are grouped in two main categories: logistical changes, i.e. modifications mainly imposed by the constraints of online study, and pedagogical changes, i.e. changes not related to the learning medium. Examples of implemented modifications are given in the body of the paper and in an online Supplement. In most cases, the initial motivation for a change was not to achieve compatibility with results of research on learning. Rather, the intended overarching aim was to make transparent the major decisions involved in course design. As far as the paper is concerned, its ultimate goal is to engage engineering instructors in contributing to communal teaching resources. Its immediate goal is to make explicit the relationship between good instructional practices and the research evidence that supports them through a variety of examples. In the process of so doing, the paper identified the research need to record how domain experts understand foundational domain concepts in a way suitable for use in instruction. What are the best methods of capturing thematic similarity between literary texts? Knowing the answer to this question would be useful for automatic clustering of book genres, or any other thematic grouping. This paper compares a variety of algorithms for unsupervised learning of thematic similarities between texts, which we call "computational thematics". These algorithms belong to three steps of analysis: text pre-processing, extraction of text features, and measuring distances between the lists of features. Each of these steps includes a variety of options. We test all the possible combinations of these options. Every combination of algorithms is given a task to cluster a corpus of books belonging to four pre-tagged genres of fiction. This clustering is then validated against the "ground truth" genre labels. Such comparison of algorithms allows us to learn the best and the worst combinations for computational thematic analysis. To illustrate the difference between the best and the worst methods, we then cluster 5000 random novels from the HathiTrust corpus of fiction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The focus of the 21st century-built environment professionals is not just about building houses, rather conscious effort geared towards adequate housing provision and enforcing minimum standards and setbacks with the aim to achieve a sustainable environment. This study assessed adequate housing provision and the challenges of enforcing minimum standards/setbacks in Oyo community. To achieve this, various literatures in form of published journals and books shall be consulted. Visits to various sites were done were pictures of building projects that are below the minimum or approved standard were seen and captured. The study identified practical cases of selected houses which do not conform to the minimum standard, identified the major reasons why they do not meet minimum standards and the factors affecting enforcement and compliance, determined the impact of the identified factors and proffered solution to the identified challenges. The study further encouraged collaborative efforts aimed at effectively tacking further challenges and as encouraged efforts aimed at providing quality housing devoid of deviation from minimum standards. This paper attempts to examine the relationship between the author and the reader by polarizing history, morality, and society as a selected triad of theoretical interpretation. The study mainly focuses on the theoretical insights of these relationships in order to give proper clues for delving deep into the technical and thematic peculiarities of different literary genres. Therefore, it follows a qualitative approach to some fictional works, particularly novels, to demonstrate how the authorial perspective intersects with the reader's ability to grasp the latent textual messages projected by authors in the course of the plots. The relationship between the author and the reader will be limited to three related topics, namely, history, morality, and society. As for history, the study sheds light on the postcolonial attributes of literature to reveal the function of liberal humanism in bridging the gap between the colonized people and the colonizers. Morality, on the other hand, will be discussed to explore the relative view of morality by authors and how the reader might conceptualize it according to his/her cultural background. Lastly, the discussion of society will be limited to the social customs and norms approached by authors to deliver a comprehensive depiction of the social reality in which the reader lives his/her true life. My paper is related to my doctoral research, in which I examine the textual characteristics of literature popular among high school students. The basis of this examination is formed by the literature of the field from the past decades. My paper also includes a review of research in the field. Furthermore, I demonstrate where the caesura lies that 126 separates today's high school generation from previous generations, and I also answer what the basis of this division might be. I present previous studies conducted in Hungary, and I also address the lack of data regarding research focusing on young people, particularly Hungarian youth in Transylvania. I outline the methodology and the questions that any new research must ask if it is curious about what and how the high school generation reads. I also endeavour to present contemporary methods through which these reading habits can be analysed and compared with those of previous generations. Finally, I propose that any new research should not only be preoccupied with the analysis of reading habits but also the comparative analysis of the works read, which is the focus of my doctoral research. Science fiction takes many forms, including academic work that calls on readers to think about social and cultural problems. This paper takes a piece of science fiction, Kirinyaga: A Fable of Utopia, as an example and discusses the conflicts among globalization, modernization and tradition present in the text, thus highlighting the academic meaning of science fiction as a literary form. This paper explores Fadwā Ṭūqān's and Maḥmūd Darwīsh's poetry written in the wake of the 1967 June War, the Israeli siege of Beirut in 1982, and the Second Intifāḍah (uprising) in 2002. Specifically, the article investigates how the poets mobilize the Arabic elegiac (rithāʾ) genre, as well as pre-Islamic and early Islamic poetic traditions, in order to contemplate the future and foster a mode of proleptic mourning. This paper asserts that these two Palestinian poets utilize the longstanding elegiac form in Arabic literary heritage to not only summon and lament past events and atrocities, but to conjecture about the insecurity that they anticipate in the years to come. The poems render both hopeful and pessimistic sentiments and premonitions, demonstrating how the ongoing Israeli occupation and the Palestinians' resultant losses over time have precipitated increasingly sobering and distressing speculations about the perpetuation of Palestinians' grief in the future. Grigor Archimandrite Skevratsi, a follower of the famous clergyman and theologian Nerses of Lambron, was one of the outstanding public, political and cultural figures of medieval Armenia, who in his literary, cultural, religious, social and pedagogical activities was a worthy disciple of his teacher and carried on the traditions establishedby him. Grigor Skevratsi is a multi-genre author. He wrote in practically every genre of spiritual literature and left a legacy of odes and Church Hymns (sharakan), orations and sermons, exhortations and prayers, interpretations and translations. The current paper presents the prayers of Grigor Skevatsi. His theory of prayer is directly derived from the teaching of the school of Narek Monastery which is evidence of a continuity of tradition. Grigor Skevratsi expressed his views on prayer as the highest moment of spiritual life in a number of works, in the theologicalpoem "Instruction on the true Faith and the Virtuous and Pure Life" ("Khrat" (exhortation) «Բան խրատու վասն ուղիղ հաւատոյ և մաքուր վարուց առաքի-նութեան» («Խրատ»)), sermons, several small and large prayers. Preparing and compiling a comprehensive educational curriculum is closely related to the writing of textbooks. Following educational goals, the periodization of Persian literary history can provide a theoretical framework for Persian language training programs for non -natives. In this paper, we argue over a particular approach to this periodization. The periodization is based on the reverse historical order, literary genre, literary form, and figures. These criteria are moving in reverse historical arrangements from the contemporary period to the past and narrating the variety of literary forms and genres around prominent poets and writers of each period. To evaluate the function and the validity of this approach, the produced content (the book: The Living Tree) was taught to two groups of non -native students of the Persian language (intermediate and upper -intermediate levels) and the results of a survey on their learning were analyzed. This paper introduces a teaching experiment that uses a set of local translations of a European medieval text—in this case, Korean translations of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales—as teaching texts in the Korean classroom alongside the original work. Students compare a range of translations dating from all periods of the 20th century, including one from as early as 1915 and others from the 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s. Tracking the variety of translation methods and different linguistic and artistic choices employed by these multiple translations allows even students unfamiliar with Middle English to gain a better sense of the particulars of Chaucer's language and character‐making. Treating translation itself as a creative mode, this paper argues that even bad translations and messy histories of linguistic interference can be put to productive pedagogical use. Recuperated local translation archives can be used in the teaching of Middle English literature by helping students understand Chaucer's own positionality as a translator and compiler. Such archives also contribute to the study of comparative literature more broadly as they present case studies of how ideas of world literature are formed over time and space, and encourage a critical engagement with the canon even as it is being taught. This article explores a selection of Mahmoud Darwish’s poetry and Samuel Beckett’s Murphy (1938) as postcolonial texts which are rich with postcolonial undertones. Beckett and Darwish articulate a counter-discursive rhetoric that undermines any hierarchically installed oppressive structures. Although political classifications and restrictions limit many neutral inquiries of such texts and hinder objective scholarship on Irish and Palestinian literature, many academic studies on Irish and Palestinian forms of literature have emerged. Counteracting hubristic structures, this paper tackles works from Ireland and Palestine as predominantly imbued with postcolonial implications. The research brings these authors from far-flung parts of the world to address postcolonial manifestations in Ireland and Palestine. Despite their convergences and divergences, texts from both perspectives must be used to critique structures and forces of colonialism in order to further contextualize them within the postcolonial realm. Reading Beckett alongside Darwish helped to solidify the idea that colonialism employs the same discourse regardless of place or time. It also demonstrates that oppressed people tend to employ comparable dissent mechanisms. Much like the speakers of Darwish’s Unfortunately, It Was Paradise, Leaves of Olives, “Mural,” and “My Mother” are always caught up in subordinate power relations, the eponymous protagonist of Murphy is degraded as an inferior other; one who is disenfranchised and excluded both inside and outside Ireland. Both authors refute stereotypes and stigmatization and offer a dissenting paradigm blurring power-based divisions to the status quo that renders the Palestinians and Irish as inferior to others. E-LIS is an international digital repository for Library and Information Science (LIS), including Communication. Created in 2003 and hosted by Università di Napoli Federico II in Italy, in a few years has been indeed as the largest international open repository in the field of library and information science. The strength of our archive is that all the work is completely based on voluntary work. It has grown thanks to a team of 80 volunteer editors, LIS professionals as technicians, librarians and information specialists. The editorial team is formed by 67 editors coming by different countries plus a team of technicians and the Administrative Board which decides policies and rules. Data are divided into general categories, according to the way they have been collected or elaborated, and these are the most common types. One of the 23 typology of metadata concerns "dataset" which can be described and deposited as a item itself inside the repository. After 16 years from its take-off, the disciplinary repository contains 22.000 open access contents in 27 different languages. The set contains statistical data about E-LIS. Over 20,000 papers have been deposited rigorously as full text open access, with a media of 110 deposits per months. Mainly are constituted by journal articles. The geographical distribution of E-LIS deposits by Countries is subdivided by countries. The possibility to get statistics give us the dimension of the real interest by users coming by all the world. There are over a million annual download requested by users all over the world, numerous from the United States but also from China and South America. This paper contributes to the reassessment of the role of Lucretius' De rerum natura and Epicurean philosophy in early Christian writings by conducting a close study of Carmen 23 composed by the poet Paulinus of Nola. While previous scholarship has examined classical influences on Paulinus' poetry, especially from Vergil, no existing study has attended to Paulinus' incorporation of Epicurean elements. This paper argues that in Carmen 23 Paulinus incorporates Epicurean doctrines and Lucretius' poetic imagery to appeal to an audience familiar with Epicurean ideas. Through the creative fusion of Epicurean physics with Christian metaphysics, Paulinus conjures up a poetic world in which the natural and spiritual realms constantly interact. While using Lucretian imagery to direct his audience's gaze toward the natural world, Paulinus nevertheless reveals a higher reality in which the invisible operation of God's spirit governs and perfects the mechanism of nature. In thus stretching his poetic imagination to encompass the working of nature and spirit, Paulinus invents a new eclectic literary form and a kind of physiological miracle account that blends naturalism and mysticism. As such, Carmen 23 attests to Paulinus' literary achievement in repurposing a classic of Epicurean philosophy and Latin poetry for Christian panegyric and hagiography. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper is a neuroqueer reading of the novel A Room Called Earth (2020) by Madeleine Ryan. In the paper, we explore and theorise a neuroqueer reading practice. Ryan's novel depicts a neurodivergent experience of life and the world, through a neurodivergent literary form and style. Reading as neurodivergents, the content and the form melt together - it is more than 'literary style', it is a way of existing. This reading, and our writing about our reading, is not neutral. It is an engaged and personal reading, where we let our reading subjects fuse with the text. Important in our neuroqueer reading practice is the context of reading and writing. In the article, we explore how sharing our readings in a neurodivergent collective opens up an understanding of the world, the text, and ourselves, which works both as a healing process and sharing of experiences of sensory desires. We argue that the neurodivergent experience is different when experiences as a collective rather than individual experience - the feelings of reading, becomes when shared, something more and other. Earthlove is, through our reading, an experience of sensory/textual desire, and neurodivergent collective acts of love and self-love. Reading it feels like love. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper presents the first Polish translation of a mini-series of six short poems about Hyella by Andrea Navagero (1483-1529). The selected works are part of Navagero's famous Latin poetry collection entitled Lusus. The translation is supplemented by an introduction and commentary notes. The Latin text reproduced in the paper is based on the edition of Lusus by Claudio Griggio (2001). The introduction presents the author's biography and includes a brief description of the whole collection. Navagero was a diplomat, a poet and the official historian of the Republic of Venice. Collected by friends in Orationes duae, carminaque nonnulla, his poems were edited posthumously in Venice in 1530. The most important part of Lusus are bucolic epigrams, a new form of Neo-Latin pastoral developed by Navagero. This minor lyric form called "pastoral play" (lusus pastoralis) gained recognition quickly and was widely imitated in 16th century. The collection also includes other literary genres - bucolic poems, elegies, and erotic poems. However, the most famous is the series of epigrams whose heroine or addressee is Hyella, a girl impossible to identify. The introduction presents a discussion about the sources and the interpretation of the love poems about Hyella (poems 21, 22, 28, 31, 32 and 37). The most important literary tradition from which Navagero draws inspiration is the Greek and Latin ancient epigram. For poem 21, the source is the Anacreontea 19, while poem 22 uses the motifs of the lamp and the night as the guardians of lovers, both popular in The Greek Anthology. For two other pieces, the direct source is the poetry of Catullus: poem 31 uses Catullus's carmen 5, while poem 32 combines motifs from Catullus's carmina 82, 92 and 109. In addition, in poem 28 we find similarities with Ausonius's epigram 9. Other important sources for Navagero were the poetry of Petrarch and the neo-Catullan poets, mostly Giovanni Pontano, Michele Marullo, and Cristoforo Landino. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
