Abstract

The aim of this research is to predict the mechanical properties along with the behaviors of standard insulating paper used in power transformers under thermal aging. This is conducted by applying an artificial neural network (ANN) trained with a multiple regression model and a particle swarm optimization (MR-PSO) model. The aging of the paper insulation is monitored directly by the tensile strength and the degree of polymerization of the solid insulation and indirectly by chemical markers using 2-furfuraldehyde compound content in oil (2-FAL). A mathematical model is then developed to simulate the mechanical properties (degree of polymerization (DPV) and tensile index (Tidx)) of the aged insulation paper. First, the datasets obtained from experimental results are used to create the MR model, and then the optimizer method PSO is used to optimize its coefficients in order to improve the MR model. Then, an ANN method is trained using the MR-PSO to create a nonlinear correlation between the DPV and the time, temperature, and 2-FAL values. The acquired results are assessed and compared with the experimental data. The model presents almost the same behavior. In particular, it has the capability to accurately simulate the nonlinear property behavior of insulation under thermal aging with an acceptable margin of error. Abstract

In this work, for analysis, one and half liters of (effluent) waste water from paper mill industry was used in batch reactor, to study the variations in DO values under three operating conditions are speed, concentration of effluent in water and time with respect to step change in oxygen feed. The experiment was done 270 trails under specified operating conditions. Experimental data were collected, many trials were done using response surface method (RSM) and respective optimum values of three operating parameters were obtained for DO value ranging from 5 to 6 ppm. In trials, RSM predicted 82.732 % effluent to water concentration, stirrer speed at 150 rpm and at 0.091 min predicted DO is 5.7 ppm, from obtained experimental results shown in figure 3 for 80 % and 90 % concentration. RSM predicted optimal conditions are considered for experimental study and three control strategies such as particle swarm optimization (PSO) based PID control and state feedback controller with Integral action and state observer were used to achieve desired DO value. A comparative study was done among three controllers and it was concluded that state feedback controller with Integral action based control strategy yield better closed loop results in-terms of time-domain and stability analysis. Abstract

With the development of artificial intelligence, computer intelligent grouping, as a research hotspot of political ideology examination paper proposition, can greatly shorten the time of generating examination papers, reduce the human cost, reduce the human factor, and improve the quality of political ideology teaching evaluation. Aiming at the problem that the current political ideology examination paper-grouping strategy method easily falls into the local optimum, a kind of intelligent paper-grouping method for political ideology examination based on the improved stock market trading optimisation algorithm is proposed. Firstly, by analyzing the traditional steps of political test paper generation, according to the index genus of the grouping problem and the condition constraints, we construct the grouping model of political thought test questions; then, combining the segmented real number coding method and the fitness function, we use the securities market trading optimization algorithm based on the Circle chaotic mapping initialization strategy and adaptive tdistribution variability strategy to solve the grouping problem of the political thought test. The experimental results show that the method can effectively find the optimal strategy of political thought exam grouping, and the test questions have higher knowledge point coverage, moderate difficulty, and more stable performance. Abstract

Our dependency towards wood has reduced the number of forests especially in Indonesia. Hence, many people tried to use another material as a replacement of wood. One of them is composite. Department of Industrial Engineering Universitas Sebelas Maret has developed paper-based composite using newspaper waste in Praktikum Perancangan Teknik Industri (PPTI) II. Unfortunately, the quality of composite is not so good. This paper tried to understand the effect of factors to responses and discover the best combination of factors to obtain the best responses. The responses of this experiment are tensile strength, bending strength and impact value. The factors of this experiment are paper pulp, PVAc glue and water. Taguchi method is used to find the appropriate orthogonal array and Particle Swarm Optimization method to find the optimum combination of the factors. Orthogonal array used in this experiment is L9 (34). Through analysis, all of the factors are significant to tensile and bending strength, but they are not significant to impact value. The best combination of factors is 175 grams paper pulp, 130 grams PVAc glue and 175 ml water. Optimum results obtained for tensile strength is 0.7595 N/mm2, bending strength is 4.873 N/mm2 and impact value is 0.0138 J/mm2.

Abstract

In paper industries, Multiple Stage Evaporator (MSE) is used to concentrate black liquor. Due to the energy intensive nature of MSE, the global energy scenario stresses on optimizing its energy efficiency. Moreover, the necessity of a tight control of product quality demands superior understanding of system dynamics for controller design. This paper presents a robust fractional‐order Proportional–Integral–Derivative (FOPID) controller for concentration control of black liquor in Heptad's effect MSE. First, the steady‐state unknown process parameters are estimated by solving the nonlinear steady‐state model. Thereafter, these optimal process parameters are utilized to simulate the nonlinear dynamic model to obtain the transfer functions. By using these transfer functions, the FOPID controller is designed whose parameters are tuned via Water Cycle Algorithm (WCA). The competence of WCA toward controller tuning is validated by comparing with other optimization techniques (Genetic Algorithm [GA], Simulated Annealing [SA], Particle Swarm Optimization [PSO], and Krill Herd [KH]). Moreover, the performance of the proposed FOPID controller in concentration control, set‐point tracking, and noise suppression is validated by comparing with conventional PID, two‐degree of freedom‐PID (2‐DOF‐PID), and Internal Model Control (IMC) controllers. The results demonstrate that FOPID controller reduces the Integral Square Error (ISE) by 91.05%, 89.81%, and 78.84%, respectively, with respect to PID, 2‐DOF‐PID, and IMC.
