This paper conducted a comparative analysis of the conference publications published by Chinese scholars from 2006 to 2019. The main results are as follows. First, the conference papers are unevenly distributed among the 31 provincial administrative regions. The annual number of conference papers published by scholars from different regions fluctuated during the study period. Second, there are different disciplinary distributions of China Proceedings of Conferences Full‐text Database (CPCD) papers and Conference Proceedings Citation Index (CPCI) papers, and the CPCI publications have a relatively centralized disciplinary distribution. Third, it is noteworthy that there are more CPCD papers than CPCI papers. With the introduction of the new science and technology evaluation standards of the Ministry of Science and Technology, there should be more conference papers in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Improving green innovation efficiency (GIE) is the key to achieve high-quality economic development in China, and the introduction of foreign direct investment (FDI) has become an important path choice to promote the GIE. Based on the data of 30 provinces in China, this paper explores the linear and nonlinear effects of FDI on GIE from both quantity and quality perspectives, and further analyzes the mediating role of environmental regulation level. The results show that: (1) From 2011 to 2020, the GIE of all provinces in China generally shows an upward trend. (2) The quantity and quality of FDI have a significant positive impact on the improvement of GIE in China's provinces, and this impact has regional heterogeneity. (3) The quantity and quality of FDI can promote the improvement of GIE in China through the level of environmental regulation (ER). (4) With the level of knowledge accumulation and GIE as the threshold variables, the quantity and quality of FDI have a single threshold effect on the GIE of China's provinces. Since 2010, the Chinese government has developed several batches of low-carbon pilot provinces and cities continuously. And in the backdrop of carbon peak and carbon neutralisation recently, the carbon emission reduction policies and achievements of China have attracted more and more worldwide attention. In the field of human health, this paper investigates whether the Low-carbon Province Pilot Policy of China has positive effects on residents' health based on the micro data of China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) from 2010 to 2016. Using the time-varying difference-in-difference model to solve the endogeneity problem commonly faced in the literature, we find that Low-carbon Province Pilot Policy has a positive impact on public health through air quality improvement and the unemployment level alleviation mainly. And in urban areas, the policy effect is more obvious than that in rural regions. This paper expands the content of national low-carbon governance effects to residents' health further and contribute to China's low-carbon development. Specifically, it reminds us to focus on the dynamic adjustment and effective continuation of the policy, and also the all-round support for 'the disadvantaged' in environmental governance process. Based on the Office for National Statistics' delineation of the scope of the digital economy industry, this paper selects indicators from five industrial dimensions: digital product manufacturing, digital product service, digital technology application, digital factor drive and digital efficiency improvement, and constructs an evaluation system to measure the development level of China's digital economy at the provincial level. It is found that there is a wide gap in the development of China's provincial digital economy, with the eastern coastal provinces and cities having a high level of digital economy development. The coupling and coordination model was then applied to examine the interrelationships between the five industrial dimensions of the digital economy, and it was found that most of the coupling and coordination relationships of the five industrial dimensions are at the stage of medium-high coupling and low coupling and coordination, and each province and city has different coupling and coordination characteristics. The numerical evaluation results provide an intuitive understanding of the differences and deficiencies in the development of the digital economy in different regions, and serve as a reference for the medium and long-term digital economy development planning of provinces and municipalities as well as the whole country. In the future, the state should invest more in the digital economy in the central and western regions, and each province should cultivate and develop the digital economy in accordance with its own local conditions. China eliminated rural poverty under current poverty standards in 2020. However, compared with rural poverty, urban poverty in China has been somewhat neglected. This paper aims to discover the changes and determinants of multidimensional urban poverty in Shandong Province, a representative province in Eastern China. Using a nationally representative panel dataset, the China Family Panel Studies, and the Dual Cutoff method, this study creates a multidimensional poverty index with four dimensions and 11 indicators to measure urban poverty in Shandong Province. This paper discovers that while the incidence of multidimensional urban poverty in Shandong Province decreased from 47.62% in 2010 to 36.45% in 2018, the intensity of multidimensional poverty only decreased from 41.27% to 37.25%, which indicates the inadequacy of urban anti-poverty efforts in Shandong Province. This paper also uses logistic regression to identify the determinants of multidimensional urban poverty. The findings suggest that income, health, drinking water, and durable goods are the main determinants of multidimensional urban poverty in Shandong Province. Tourism efficiency has become an important role in promoting tourism competitiveness and driving sustainable development. It is particularly important to identify and agnalyze the factors and mechanisms that affect efficiency. This paper firstly evaluates the tourism efficiency of 11 coastal provinces regions in China from 2010 to 2020 by using the DEA-BBC model that includes undesirable outputs. After that, it investigates the internal driving mechanism of the efficiency change through the Malmquist index and its decomposition. Finally, it analyzes the external influencing elements of tourist efficiency by the Tobit model. The results show that: (1) Although the average value of the tourism efficiency was changed from 0.727 to 0.707, it does not achieve the target. Its trend shows fluctuating from 2010–2020, which indicates that the tourism efficiency of most provincial regions is not optimal. The main factor that restricts tourism efficiency is scale efficiency. (2) By analyzing the dynamic trend, it is found that the average increase of technical efficiency is 14.0%, the average increase of technical change is 9.5%, and the average increase of MI index is 25.4%. It indicates that the overall tourism efficiency of 11 coastal provinces region in China is on the rise. (3) The spatial difference of tourism efficiency is significant, but there is no obvious spatial correlation. The efficient exploitation of geothermal energy through enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) has been a relevant topic for hot dry rock (HDR) geothermal resources. When cryogenic fluid is injected into a thermal reservoir, improving heat exchange efficiency is key to achieving the optimal exploitation of HDR. In this paper, granite outcrops from Gonghe Basin were used as the testing sample. The natural fractures in the granite samples were relatively well developed. To simulate long-term injection and production from multi-wells in situ, physical experiments were performed in a newly-developed, in-house large-scale true triaxial experimental system. Geothermal extraction performance of an HDR was simulated for long-term injection and production operations. Simultaneously, the mode of one-injection and multiple-production wells was represented. In the paper, the effects of the production-injection well spacing, the number of production wells and the injection rate on the production temperature and flow rate are discussed. The results show that, during long-term injection and production, there are two stages of production temperature variation, namely stabilization and attenuation. When the number of the production wells is increased, the heat extraction efficiency is accelerated. Moreover, competitive diversion of fluid among fractures occurred due to different conductivities. Furthermore, under different production modes, the production flow rate contributed differently to the heat extraction. Finally, the effect of the production-injection wells spacing on the heat exchange performance was analyzed; this is mainly reflected in the change of the effective heat exchange area between the rock and the injected fluid. The spatial correlation structure of provincial tourism economy development is an important factor to promote the overall tourism economy. This paper aims to construct the methodology of provincial tourism competitiveness evaluation system from the new perspective of networking. Firstly, by utilizing the panel data of 30 provinces from 2006 to 2019, the entropy method was developed to calculate the provincial tourism competitiveness. Then, the gravity model was introduced to the Social Network Analysis, and spatial correlation network and its characteristics of tourism competitiveness evaluation were elaborated. This paper reveals the spatial–temporal network evolution process of regional tourism competitiveness in China. Additionally, it provides a scientific basis for obtaining a deeper understanding of China's provincial tourism competitiveness and a theoretical basis for the government to formulate the future direction and differentiation policy of provincial tourism competitiveness. This paper first divides knowledge resources into internal knowledge and knowledge spillover from the dual perspective of inside and outside the region. Then, a panel threshold regression model is constructed by using the panel data from 30 provincial high‐tech industries in China during the 2009–2019 period using the intellectual property protection intensity as the threshold variable, and the nonlinear impact of the interaction between internal knowledge and knowledge spillover on the patent quality in the high‐tech industry is empirically explored. The results show the following. (1) The interaction between internal knowledge and knowledge spillover has a significant nonlinear effect on the patent quality in China's provincial high‐tech industry. There is a double‐threshold effect with the intellectual property protection intensity as the threshold variable. (2) As the threshold value of the intellectual property protection intensity increases, the promotion effect of the interaction between internal knowledge and knowledge spillover on the patent quality first increases and then decreases. (3) The spatiotemporal heterogeneity of the intellectual property protection intensity is obvious in all regions in China. (4) Internal knowledge, the infrastructure construction level, and the human capital level have significant positive effects on the patent quality, while knowledge spillover and the opening‐up level have significant negative effects. Using the panel data of 31 provinces in China between 2000 and 2018, this study theoretically and empirically analyses the impact of environmental regulations on the adjustment of the agriculture industrial structure from the perspectives of rationalisation and optimisation. Overall, variability in the impact of environmental regulation on the adjustment of the agricultural industrial structure is identified: a negative influence on the rationalisation of agricultural industrial structure and a positive influence on the optimisation of agricultural industrial structure. The impact of environmental regulations on the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure also reflects "large country characteristics": environmental regulations are more significant at the medium and low industrial structure levels. Environmental regulation significantly impacts the rationalisation of agricultural industrial structure in central and western regions and its optimisation in eastern and central regions. Through the panel threshold model test, this paper further finds that the effect of environmental regulations on the adjustment of agricultural industrial structure is not invariant. The advancement of the sports industry's development constitutes a critical concern shared by regional authorities and the scholarly community, reflecting its significant role in economic and social development. This study employs a Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) methodology to examine the 31 provincial-level administrative units in China. The objective is to elucidate the influence of technological, organizational, and environmental factors on the industry's development level, considering both a holistic national framework and dissected regional approaches (Eastern, Central, and Western China). This paper's contribution to the literature is structured around the following core findings: (1) The study establishes that a singular condition does not suffice as an essential prerequisite for achieving a heightened development state within the sports industry. (2) At the national level, there are three pathways to enhance the development level of the sports industry, specifically identified as "network-human resources dominant pathway," "technological innovation-human resources dominant pathway," and "comprehensive synergistic pathway."(3) From a regional perspective, the Eastern region has two pathways for sports industry enhancement: "network-economic pathway" and "comprehensive synergistic pathway." The Central region follows a "technology pathway," while the Western region has three pathways: "organization-environment pathway," "network-organization-environment pathway," and "organization pathway."(4) The synthesis of these findings underscores the multifactorial nature of sports industry development, suggesting a paradigm where diverse routes can lead to equivalent outcomes. Quantifying the spatiotemporal characteristics of government support for rural development is crucial for accurately optimizing or formulating policies for rural development, but research identifying government support for rural development at the geospatial scale has not yet emerged. This paper used Hubei Province, China, as the study area and constructed indicators of government support for rural development based on the intensity of support, the spatial direction of support, and the spatial agglomeration of support based on the characteristics of legal rural construction land allocation. Panel data regression was used to quantify the direction of rural development that requires the allocation of rural construction land based on government support. The results showed that government support for rural development through legal rural construction land allocation has strong spatiotemporal characteristics: From 2009 to 2018, the intensity of support grew, the spatial direction of support was regular, and government support was increasingly manifested as local agglomeration. The orientations of government support through legal rural construction land allocation for rural development include farmers' production, farmers' livelihoods and social security. This research provides a reference for quantifying government support through legal rural construction land allocation for rural development and the direction of government support. China is actively heeding the call and striving for a low-carbon and environmentally friendly development route as part of the general trend toward a global low-carbon economy. The rapid economic development of our nation has brought to light the issue of carbon emissions resulting from the consumption habits of residents. This paper delves into the topic by conducting a thorough analysis of the carbon emission of residents' consumption using the input-output method. Based on the survey findings, the disparity in carbon emission between urban and rural communities in Shandong Province is evident not only in terms of total emissions but also in different categories and regions. Urban residents generate a total carbon emission of approximately 70.2921 million tons, which is three times higher than that of rural residents at 23.7846 million tons. The carbon emission of both urban and rural residents is primarily attributed to their embodied carbon emission. In examining the composition of the implied carbon emission of residents' consumption in Shandong Province, urban residents' carbon emission is concentrated in three areas, namely, food, culture, education, entertainment, transportation, and communication, accounting for 21.45%, 20.88%, and 15.10%, respectively. Conversely, rural residents' carbon emission is concentrated in four areas, including clothing, food, culture, education, entertainment, transportation, and communication, accounting for 29.01%, 17.45%, 15.43%, and 13.36%, respectively. Finally, according to the characteristics of the consumption carbon emission of urban and rural residents in Shandong Province, we give corresponding emission reduction strategies. Under the influence of development strategies with regard to national fitness and health in China, the interactive development between national fitness and national health is becoming increasingly strong. To explore the coupling and coordination relationship between national fitness and national health, this paper conducts an empirical analysis of the coupling and coordination relationship between national fitness and national health in 11 provinces and cities in Eastern China using the entropy weight method, a coupling coordination model, spatial visualization of the coupling coordination degree and spatial autocorrelation analysis. The research confirms that the comprehensive development level of national fitness and national health in Eastern China shows a steady upward trend, with a lag in national fitness as a whole, and that the growth rate of national fitness development is faster than that of national health development. The coupling coordination degree of the two systems of national fitness and national health in Eastern China shows a slow upward trend, and the coupling coordination degree rises from barely coordinated to primary coordination. There are significant differences in the spatial pattern of coupling coordination: the spatial pattern from north to south generally shows 'low-high-high-low-high-low' characteristics, and the spatial spillover effect of coupling coordination in various regions has not yet appeared. The revised GM(1.1) prediction results indicate that the level and improvement rate of coupling coordination will accelerate significantly in the next 10 years, but the spatial differences will still exist. Finally, suggestions are proposed to optimize the coupling and coordinated development of national fitness and national health based on policy guarantees as well as strengthening and cross-regional cooperation. After years of governance, China's PM2.5 pollution has improved significantly, but some problems remain. PM2.5 is the carrier of many heavy metals, and it has a stronger capacity to carry heavy metals, causing more significant harm to public health. At present, most of the studies on PM2.5-bound heavy metals in China are based on individual cities, and there are few studies from China's provincial capital cities. Given the above reasons, this paper described the pollution characteristics of PM2.5-bound heavy metal (Hg, Pb, Cd, As, Cr(VI), Ni) in 29 provincial capital cities in China (except Hohhot and Lhasa). Furthermore, the human health risk assessment recommended by US EPA was used to evaluate the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risks of the male adults, the female adults, and the children. The results indicated that (1) the children were facing a higher risk value of PM2.5-bound heavy metals than the adults; (2) Cr, As, and Pb were the top three elements that contributed to the average non-carcinogenic risk, while Cr(VI), As, and Cd were the three elements with the highest carcinogenic risk; and (3) the concentrations of PM2.5-bound heavy metals in the provincial capital cities of northern China were worse than those in the South. In response to the above conclusions, this paper put forward: (1) the government should strengthen the management of metallurgical industry and coal-burning industrial enterprises; (2) establish a real-time monitoring system for toxic and harmful heavy metal pollutants carried in the atmosphere as soon as possible; (3) concern on the regional synergies to form pollution control metropolitan areas. With the rapid development of re‐electrification, traditional load forecasting faces a significant increase of influencing factors. Existing literature focuses on examining the influencing factors related to load profiles in order to improve the prediction accuracy. However, a large number of redundant features may lead to the overfitting of the forecasting engine. To enhance the performance of extreme learning machine (ELM) under massive data scale, this paper presents a kernel extreme learning machine (KELM) based method which can be used for short‐term load prediction. First, a feature dimensionality reduction is performed using a kernelized principal component analysis, which aims to eliminate redundant input vectors. Then, the hyperparameters of KELM are optimized to improve the prediction accuracy and generalization. Case studies based on a province‐level power system in China demonstrate that the presented method can significantly improve the accuracy of load forecasting by 3.14% in contrast to traditional ELM. As an important means of environmental regulation, environmental punishment lacks in empirical evidence on its impact on regional green technology innovation in China. Based on panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2010 to 2020, this paper systematically examines the relationship between environmental punishment and regional green technology innovation. It is found that environmental punishment has the quantity and quality enhancing effects on regional green technology innovation, and the quantity enhancing effect is greater than the quality enhancing effect. There is no significant effect difference between monetary punishment and non monetary punishment on green technology innovation effect, but the effect of punishment on institutions is obviously greater than that of punishment on individuals. And the performance of ecological provinces and provinces with better legal environment is also relatively better. Environmental punishment enhances the quantity and quality of green technology innovation through pressure, and improves the quality of green technology innovation through deterrence. Besides, in China, deterrence promotes regional green technology innovation together with the Central Government's environmental protection inspection, the national green manufacturing strategies and other policies concerned. This paper uses a set of provincial macroeconomic variables and the panel VAR method, which contains cross-sectional dynamic interdepence and time-varying coefficients, to measure the quarterly dynamics of the real economies of Chinese provinces. We find that provincial GDP and industrial value-added series may deliver limited business cycle information and that Chinese provinces have experienced overall divergence and sub-club convergence in recent years. At present, the development of China's economy is inseparable from the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship. However, there are huge differences in the level of entrepreneurship in different regions, so it is urgent to analyze the influencing factors of entrepreneurship. This paper uses panel data of 31 provinces in 2008–2017 to test the impact of urban unemployment rate, regional financial development level, market scale, agglomeration effect, entrepreneurial cost, scientific and technological innovation level, government support and other factors on entrepreneurial level. To solve the issue of factors influencing the enterprises, we utilised an effective way of fuzzy logic along with decision estimation strategy. The empirical results show that regional financial development level, agglomeration effect, technological innovation ability, government support and so on have a positive role in promoting the level of entrepreneurship, while urban unemployment rate has no significant effect on the level of entrepreneurship. Ocean economy is the sum of various industrial activities for developing, utilizing, and protecting the ocean, as well as the activities associated with it. As the globe gradually pays more attention to ocean economic growth, China, as a significant maritime country, has begun to pay attention to the sector and put up ocean economic development policies. The marine economy has great potential, and the development of the marine economy is of great significance to the economic development of China. The Fujian Province is located at the junction of the Belt and Road and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, with a unique geographical location and natural resource advantages. Analyzing the state of the ocean economy in the Fujian Province, identifying challenges, and developing ocean economic development strategies to promote the long-term growth of the ocean economy in the Fujian Province has become a pressing issue that must be addressed. Because there is currently limited research on ocean economic systems and a paucity of ocean economic data, this paper uses a deep neural network to forecast the ocean production output value of the Fujian Province. The experimental results show that the model proposed in this paper can predict the ocean invention value of the Fujian Province well, which confirms the effectiveness of the model. To assess the characteristics of household carbon emissions per capita (HCPC), this paper divided China's provinces into 4 groups based on the decoupling relationship between household consumption and related emissions. This classification helped to analyze the correlation and reflected the decoupling status between carbon emissions and household consumption and explored the effect of consumption growth on carbon emissions. Then, according to logarithmic mean divisia index (LMDI) model, HCPC in China's provinces was decomposed into four drivers including carbon coefficient, energy structure, energy consumption, and population structure effect. Through multi-regional (M-R) analysis, temporal evolution and spatial differences of these four drivers in both national and provincial level were studied. This comparison method introduced temporal and spatial decomposition results into the same framework, which may provide a new perspective for analyzing carbon emission trends. The results showed that (a) the HCPC in all 30 provinces increased significantly especially in Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, and Beijing. Energy consumption effect was the leading factor promoting HCPC growth. Energy structure and population structure also promoted HCPC growth slightly, and carbon coefficient was the effect which had inhibitory effect on HCPC growth at regional level. (b) Spatial differences of HCPC between regions narrowed during this period. This is mainly due to the rapid growth of HCPC in region IV. Energy consumption effect was the dominant factor for the spatial differences. Based on the results, this paper proposed to adopt more effective measures to improve energy efficiency, develop clean energy, and optimize energy structure, especially in the provinces with faster growth in carbon emissions. China has proposed "ecological conservation and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin" to a major national strategy, which puts forward higher requirements for water, energy, and food along the Yellow River (TYR). However, the water–energy–food nexus (WEF) system in TYR basin is very complicated. Based on the theory and method of harmonious regulation, this paper puts forward a new WEF harmony framework (WEFH) to study the harmonious balance of WEF in TYR. WEFH cannot only evaluate the harmonious balance of WEF, but also identify the main influencing factors, and further study the harmonious regulation of WEF. For the key steps of regulation and control, we provide a variety of methods to choose from in this framework. In practice, we apply this framework to the regulation of WEF in the nine provinces along TYR. The results show that during 2005–2018, the harmony degree of WEF in the nine provinces along TYR is between 0.29 and 0.58. The harmony degree of WEF has improved over time, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. Among them, per capita water resources, hydropower generation ratio, carbon emissions, and another 12 indicators have great influence on the harmony of WEF. We have established eight control schemes for nine of these indicators. In eight control schemes, most areas have reached a moderate level of harmony degree. These results show that the framework proposed in this paper is helpful to the comprehensive management of regional WEF and provides a viable scheme for the optimization of WEF. With rapid economic growth in the twenty-first century, innovation has become an essential component of national development, and industry-university-research regional collaborative innovation is the key to implementing China's innovation plan. Using panel data from 30 provinces and cities in China (excluding Tibet Autonomous Region) from 2011 to 2018, this paper employs the two-stage dynamic DEA model to develop a rating index system of regional collaborative innovation performance, which is divided into knowledge innovation stage and technology innovation stage, and measures the collaborative innovation efficiency of 30 provinces in China. The environmental regulation score is then determined by using the entropy method. Finally, an experimental application of the panel Tobit model is conducted to investigate the impact mechanism of environmental regulation on regional collaborative innovation. The results reveal that the collaborative innovation efficiency values of the majority of provinces are between 0.5 and 0.7, leaving ample room for growth. When the efficiency value of collaborative innovation is broken down by region, the eastern, central, and western regions show a pattern of "rising in the east, stable in the center, and falling in the west." The findings of the Tobit regression reveal that the effect of environmental regulation on regional collaborative innovation performance follows a "U"-shaped distribution, confirming the "Porter Hypothesis." The new development concept is the theoretical guidance and important foundation for high-quality foreign trade development in the new era. This paper develops an evaluation index system to measure the high-quality development level of foreign trade based on the meaning of high-quality development of foreign trade under the new concept of development. The dynamic changing trend of high-quality development of China's provincial foreign trade from 2013 to 2019 and the ranking change of the development index are examined in this paper using a time series factor model. Finally, China's provinces are categorized based on the quality of their foreign trade development. The findings show that, from 2013 to 2019, China's high-quality foreign trade development has been on the rise; the level of high-quality foreign trade development has been raised to varying degrees in the eastern, central, and western regions of China, but each region plays a different role. Compared to 2013, the truly "high-quality" areas of China's provincial foreign trade development were always concentrated in the eastern region, which ranked high on the comprehensive evaluation index, while the "low-quality" areas were mainly concentrated in the central and western regions, which ranked low on the comprehensive evaluation index. At present, China is building a historic heritage conservation and management system from upper to lower level. Therefore, as the middle level, provincial level is becoming increasingly important in the management of famous towns and villages. However, due to the excessive quantities of resources, the lagging management skills and other influential factors, the provincial competent authorities still face a series of difficulties in implementing the conservation and management of historic cities, towns and villages. Focusing on the regulatory issues faced by provincial competent authorities, this study combined geospatial information technology with deep learning technology to explore the intelligent auxiliary identification of traditional texture for historic settlements and the provincial planning guidance method based on GIS evaluation. This paper put forward technical optimization suggestions for the stages of declaration and identification, conservation planning, supervision and inspection in provincial conservation and management. The intervention of new technologies provides a reference for provincial competent authorities in enhance conservation and regulatory capacity, and dealing with the situation of "having laws but lacking technology, and difficult to implement". This paper examines the impact of exposure to provincial and national information on the performance of non-financial Chinese firms during the recent global financial crisis (2007 to 2009). The results show that firms with higher level of exposure to provincial information are affected less by the crisis than firms with higher level of exposure to national information. The results are also robust across various proxies of firm performance. The main contribution of this paper is to highlight sources of value for Chinese firms during the recent financial crisis. More importantly, this paper uses publicly available information to draw attention on the role played by national and provincial sources of information in defining firm performance during the recent global financial crisis. The establishment of the territorial spatial plan system is an important space reform act to meet the new era in China. The reform of territorial spatial plans according to classification is in line with the characteristics of China's current territorial spatial administration and urban development. At present, China's provincial and municipal territorial spatial plans have been publicized, and county-level territorial spatial plans are being approved one after another, while the compilation of township-level territorial spatial plans is being carried out in an orderly manner. In this paper, based on the historical background of the establishment of territorial spatial plan system integrating "multiple plans", the background of territorial spatial plans and the important role of county-level territorial spatial plans were first elaborated, and then the progress of the compilation of county-level territorial spatial plans in Jiangxi Province was sorted out. Finally, the problems existing in the compilation were discussed, and corresponding suggestions were put forward to provide a certain reference for the construction of a scientific and reasonable territorial spatial plan system. Based on the research of spatial pattern dynamic evolution algorithm and optimization model construction and driving mechanism of provincial tourism eco-efficiency in China under the background of cloud computing, this paper takes 30 provinces in mainland China (excluding Tibet, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) as the research object and scientifically constructs the measurement index system of tourism eco-efficiency. The Super-SBM-Undesirable model is used to measure the tourism eco-efficiency of each province from 2004 to 2017, and the algorithm and model are optimized. This paper explores the spatial evolution trajectory and path of tourism eco-efficiency by using the barycentric standard deviation ellipse method and constructs a dynamic panel model to identify the factors affecting the evolution trajectory and their driving mechanisms by using the SYS-GMM method. The results show that China's tourism eco-efficiency is at a high level and the eastern region is higher than the central and western regions. From the moving track of the center of gravity, the center of gravity of China's tourism eco-efficiency is located in Henan province, which has experienced a process of moving from southeast to northwest. From the standard deviation ellipse, the spatial distribution direction of China's tourism eco-efficiency presents a "northeast-southwest" pattern, and there is a further strengthening trend of deviation. There is a significant positive correlation between tourism eco-efficiency and tourism industrial structure upgrading, tourism industrial structure rationalization, tourism technology level, and tourism human capital, as well as a significant negative correlation between tourism eco-efficiency and tourism economic development level, environmental regulation intensity, and the degree of opening to the outside world, while the relationship between urbanization and tourism eco-efficiency is relatively vague. Industrial sulfur dioxide (SO2) has become an important source of environmental pollution in China, and the regional SO2 emission reduction capacity is a comprehensive reflection of cleaner production capacity, environmental regulation, and economic development. It is obvious that high-tech industries play a crucial role in promoting the cleaner production capacity of the whole industry. Simultaneously, only considering the regional emission and the development of high-tech industry in isolation may deviate from actual economic characteristics. Therefore, by using the panel data of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2016, this paper adopts spatial autoregression model (SAR), spatial error model (SEM), and spatial Durbin model (SDM) to analyze the effect of the high-tech industry development on SO2 emission reduction under the spatial adjacency matrix (W1), geographic distance matrix (W2), and economic distance matrix (W3). In addition, this paper selects three indicators, which is SO2 removal rate, SO2 emission, and SO2 removal quantity, as explanatory variables, and R&D investment and number of enterprises in high-tech industry are selected to represent the industrial development level. The major conclusions are as follows: (1) The ability of SO2 emission reduction in the local province is significantly affected by the surrounding provinces, showing the agglomeration characteristics of "high-high" or "low-low." (2) The R&D investment of high-tech industry has a negative impact on SO2 removal rate and SO2 removal quantity, but a positive effect on the SO2 emissions for the local province, and has a positive effect on the emission reduction of surrounding provinces. (3) The expansion of high-tech industry has significantly improved the SO2 emission reduction capacity of the local province and its surrounding provinces. The robustness test supports the empirical conclusions of this paper. Finally, this paper puts forward some policy suggestions for government in environmental governance, such as "joint prevention and control" and the promotion of cleaner production. China's provinces' development conditions, levels, and models are quite different. Indeed, the contradictions in development are becoming increasingly prominent, and the task of sustainable development is becoming increasingly arduous. The difference in the coordination degree of the development of the economy, sci-technology, ecology, resources, and society (ESERS), and the influencing factors among the research areas have become the most concerned scientific proposition of regional sustainable development. This paper measures the ESERS coupling and coordinated development relationship among the five development levels of China's provinces on the coupling coordination model. The spatial autoregressive (SAR) and geographically weighted regression (GWR) models are used to capture the spatial correlation and spatial heterogeneity of the sustainable and coordinated development of various districts in China. The main research conclusions are as follows: (1) the coupling coordination relationship of different regions in China remained at the mild and moderate maladjusted recession stage. In each of the five dimensions (ESERS), the coupling coordination relationship is relatively weak. (2) In terms of temporal distribution, among the four geographical regions of China, except the northeast, the development of ESERS in the eastern, central, and western regions is shifting to a coordinated balance. In terms of spatial distribution, the unbalanced development of ESERS is mainly concentrated in the northeast and part of the western regions. (3) The backward industrial structure is the main reason leading to the unbalanced development of ESERS in China, while the degree of opening up, eco-environmental governance ability, and education investment intensity are the critical factors leading to the development differentiation of ESERS in different regions of China. Overall optimization of industrial structure is the best way to improve the balance of the overall development of ESERS in China, and strengthening human ecology and international construction is the more effective way to narrow the development differences of regional ESERS. Digital economy has become an important driving force for green economic growth in China. Based on the province-level data of China from 2003 to 2018, this paper constructed the Total-factor Nonradial Directional Distance Function (TNDDF) model to measure the carbon emission efficiency of industrial sector and discussed the impact of digital economy on carbon emission efficiency. Empirical analysis shows that the carbon emission efficiency of China's industrial sector is low, and there is obvious regional heterogeneity where the carbon emission efficiency of eastern China is higher than that of central and western China. Areas with high level of digital economy development have higher carbon emission efficiency, and digital economy is conducive to promoting energy conservation and pollution reduction in China's industrial sector. The optimal threshold interval of digital economy for promoting carbon emission efficiency is explored by means of threshold model. In view of this, the Chinese government should vigorously develop the digital economy, promote industrial enterprises to networking and digital evolution, and improve the efficiency of carbon emission as well. With rural decline becoming a global issue, the implementation of rural revitalization strategy has been turning into general starting points for many countries, especially in contemporary China. In this paper, we proposed a systematic analysis framework and a new evaluation index system for the implementation effectiveness of rural revitalization at the county scale. In addition, empirical research was conducted based on Jiangsu Province. The results indicated that the average value of the comprehensive index of implementation effects of rural revitalization in Jiangsu was 1.8198, and nearly 60% counties in the province were below this average. Also, the obvious disequilibrium and spatial differentiation laws were observed which presenting a stepwise advance from south to north, with the inland superior to the coastal. The five‐dimensional coordination status of rural revitalization in Jiangsu was relatively high, with the majority of counties reached at barely balanced state. A total of 21 counties were identified as problematic regions in Jiangsu through comprehensive overlay analysis. They were mainly located in northern Jiangsu, and could be divided into seven specific types. The proposed evaluation framework and indicator system might make up for the lack of effective reference systems and scientific quantitative indicators in the current county‐scale rural revitalization strategy practices. Moreover, the idea of identifying problem areas and the classification mode of rural revitalization goal levels proposed in this paper are also of great reference for other regions. • First estimation of nitrosamine intake via tobacco by smokers in 30 provinces, China. • First estimation of cancer risk (CR) of nitrosamines in tobacco to smokers in China. • CRs of NNK and NDMA are comparable in tobacco smoke (1.99 × 10−4 vs. 1.66 × 10 -4). • CR by nitrosamine intake: tobacco (3.80 × 10−4) > food (1.74 × 10−4) > water (1.38 × 10−5). • Tobacco smoking brings 202% extra cancer risk of nitrosamines to Chinese smokers. Nitrosamines are a class of carcinogens which have been detected widely in food, water, some pharmaceuticals as well as tobacco. The objectives of this paper include reviewing the basic information on tobacco consumption and nitrosamine contents, and assessing the health risks of tobacco nitrosamines exposure to Chinese smokers. We searched the publications in English from "Web of Science" and those in Chinese from the "China National Knowledge Infrastructure" in 2022 and collected 151 literatures with valid information. The content of main nitrosamines in tobacco, including 4-(methylnitrosoamino)-1-(3-pyridyl)-1-butanone (NNK), N -nitrosonornicotine (NNN), N -nitrosoanatabine (NAT), N -nitrosoanabasine (NAB), total tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNA), and N -nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) were summarized. The information of daily tobacco consumption of smokers in 30 provinces of China was also collected. Then, the intakes of NNN, NNK, NAT, NAB, TSNAs, and NDMA via tobacco smoke were estimated as 1534 ng/day, 591 ng/day, 685 ng/day, 81 ng/day, 2543 ng/day, and 484 ng/day by adult smokers in 30 provinces, respectively. The cancer risk (CR) values for NNN and NNK inhalation intake were further calculated as 1.44 × 10−5 and 1.95 × 10−4. The CR value for NDMA intake via tobacco smoke (inhalation: 1.66 × 10−4) indicates that NDMA is similarly dangerous in tobacco smoke when compared with the TSNAs. In China, the CR values caused by average nitrosamines intake via various exposures and their order can be estimated as the following: smoke (3.75 × 10−4) > food (1.74 × 10−4) > drinking water (1.38 × 10−5). China is the largest carbon dioxide emitter in the world. Over the past decades, China has made great efforts to retard the carbon emission growth. This paper aims to quantify the driving forces of stagewise provincial carbon emission changes and expound the bottom-up provincial efforts aligned with China's carbon abatement targets. During 2007–2012, economic growth as the major contributing factor posed a great increase in provincial carbon emissions, especially in underdeveloped provinces such as Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Guangxi, Shaanxi, and Ningxia. During 2012–2017, the energy intensity effect replaced economic growth as the largest contributor to provincial carbon emission changes. In both two periods, industrial structure upgrading and renewable energy expansion are conducive to mitigate provincial carbon growth, and the power sector will continue to contribute to national decarbonization. The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has been the subject of extensive analysis since late 2013. Most of this views it as a manifestation of China's approach to global issues under Xi Jinping, whether economic, geopolitical, or as a bid to reshape globalization. There has so far been less research into the domestic dynamics of the BRI, including at the sub-national level in China. Based primarily on an examination of provincial-level policy documents and research, this paper explores the ways in which policy makers in the southwestern province of Yunnan have responded to the BRI, and what this might mean for the implementation and shaping of the initiative. It identifies the promotion of externally-oriented development as the main response in Yunnan to the BRI, structured around the idea of making the province a 'pivot' to south and southeast Asia. This provincial-level response is shaped by pre-existing policy goals in Yunnan and reflects more continuity than change in policy substance. This is consistent with interpretations of the BRI as an 'omnibus' policy which can incorporate multiple objectives and act as a framework within which provincial actors can compete for influence or which they can use to make progress towards achieving local objectives in the context of national strategy. The paper concludes that in the case of Yunnan and the BRI, broad alignment between provincial and central government objectives suggests that on this issue, Yunnan is more of an 'influencer' and 'interpreter' than 'ignorer' of national policy goals. This paper examines whether regions in China with stronger IPR regimes have better patenting performance, and whether they exhibit positive spillovers on neighbouring regions' patenting. The results affirm positive and significant effects on both regards. This is likely due to the fact that a stronger IPR regime with its accompanying hard and soft knowledge infrastructure facilitates knowledge sharing and exchange, hence promoting innovation efficiency. The negative spillover effect of neighbour's patenting activity may reflect inter-regional R&D collaboration, where patents are appropriated only by some participants. The aims of this paper is to illustrate the importance of grain production in China's food security strategy based on the three Northeastern provinces (NEP) in the new period, which quantitative assessment of climate change under the background of the loss caused by meteorological disasters of regional food production is clarify. In this paper, using grain planting area, yield and agricultural disaster statistics from 1981 to 2020, comparison analysis grain production and disaster characteristics between NEP and the whole country respectively. The disaster-yield assessment model was used to estimate the disaster-yield loss and final yield of the NEP by inputting disaster data in recent 10 years, and the sensitivity and stability of the disaster-yield assessment model were re-tested. The results showed that :(1) from 1981 to 2020, the grain planting area and total output in NEP increased significantly, and the proportion of the total output of NEP increased steadily, and the proportion of the total output of the three northeast provinces reached 1/5 of the total output of the whole country by 2020. (2) The disaster situation in NEP showed a significant trend of first increasing and then decreasing. The incrasing of average grain yield during the past 40 years was 65.96kg⋅ha-1 and 252.5kg⋅ha-1 per year for NEP and the whole country, while the incrasing of average grain yield during the past 10 years was 52.6kg⋅ha-1 per year for NEP significantly. (3) From 2011 to 2020, the average affected area and affected area in China were 23704.5x10³ha and 11204.7x10³ha, respectively, and 3899.1x10³disasters of the whole country and the three northeastern provinces were significantly lower than those of the previous three years, making it the decade with the least severe disasters in 40 years. (4) The simulation accuracy of the disaster-yield assessment model was high. The linear regression coefficients (R²) of simulated grain yield and measured grain yield in Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces were 0.98, 0.90 and 0.88, respectively. The slopes were 1.05, 1.02 and 0.98 (P < 0.01), respectively. The loss rate of grain yield due to agro-disaster was 10.4%, 17.9% and 18.0% respectively in the three province, while which was more than 8.0%, 17.0% and 16.0% for 20a.years. (5) The model slightly overestimated the grain yield of Jilin and Liaoning in recent 10 years due to the overall light disaster situation. Based on the data from 1981 to 2010, the regional grain disaster loss assessment model was proved to be able to evaluate the loss of grain yield caused by meteorological disasters well, and had the performance of predicting grain yield, and has the feasibility of operational application. The impact of meteorological disasters on the grain output in northeast China is higher than the average level of disasters in the whole country. Considering that the grain output in Northeast China accounts for a high proportion of the national grain output, preventing the risk of agro-meteorological disasters in Northeast China in the new period is of great importance to guarantee the national food security. This paper analyses, for the first time, potential convergence patterns of hotel revenues across provinces in China. Through the club clustering methodology, the analysis uses a unique dataset of all hotels across all Chinese provinces. The findings document that these hotel revenues follow a diverging pattern on a national level, while a converging pattern is identified across certain provinces, thus forming specific clubs. When the analysis is extended to identify potential drivers for such diverging or converging behavior, the new results illustrate the role of productivity trends, management strategies and tax policies as those factors that drive such patterns. The results could be of substantial value, primarily for tourism policymakers to further improve the current framework of the Chinese hotel industry to introduce practices and policies that will allow the industry to catch up with the global market. The achievement of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets requires the adjustment of the energy structure, in which the dual-carbon progress of the power industry will directly affect the realization process of the goal. In such terms, an accurate demand forecast is imperative for the government and enterprises' decision makers to develop an optimal strategy for electric energy planning work in advance. According to the data of the whole social electricity consumption in Jiangsu Province of China from 2015 to 2019, this paper uses the improved particle swarm optimization algorithm to calculate the fractional-order r of the FGM (1, 1) model and establishes a metabolic FGM (1, 1) model to predict the whole social electricity consumption in Jiangsu Province of China from 2020 to 2023. The results show that in the next few years the whole social electricity consumption in Jiangsu Province will show a growth trend, but the growth rate will slow down generally. It can be seen that the prediction accuracy of the metabolic FGM (1, 1) model is higher than that of the GM (1, 1) and FGM (1, 1) models. In addition, the paper analyzes the reasons for the changes in the whole society electricity consumption in Jiangsu Province of China and provides support for government decision making. Exploring the impact of transportation development on land price differences between cities is of great significance to help guide the optimal allocation of land resources and promote the coordinated and balanced development of regions. This paper first discusses how regional transportation development influences land price differences between cities at a theoretical level. Then, by taking 26 provincial regions in the Chinese Mainland as research units, the specific effects of provincial transportation development on land price differences between cities are examined empirically by constructing econometric models. The results show that: (a) in recent years, the price of urban land in China has increased significantly, and the land price differences between cities are increasing in most provinces; and (b) provincial transportation development has a narrowing effect on land price differences between cities, and the spatial spillover effect brought by transportation development deserves attention. In the future, the role of transportation development in narrowing regional land price differences should be taken into consideration to promote the balanced development of the land market and the coordinated development of regions. This study is an attempt to explore the regional resilience of Camellia sinensis var.assamica cultivation with climate change in Yunnan Province and delineate the scope of its potential suitable areas at three levels. Based on the maximum entropy (MaxEnt) model, combined with the distribution data of C. sinensis var.assamica species and environmental variable data, the main influencing factors of its distribution were figured out, and the suitable growing areas of C. sinensis var.assamica under the current and future climate conditions were predicted. The results show (1) the MaxEnt model can be deliberately constructed for the prediction of the suitable distribution areas of C. sinensis var.assamica in Yunnan. The dominant environmental factors affecting the planting of it are the average rainfall in October, the soil type and the mountain slope, having a contribution ratio of 84.9% with a total. (2) Under the current climate condition, the areas suitable for C. sinensis var.assamica are mainly in the west, southwest and south regions of Yunnan. The total suitable areas account for approximately 37.55% of Yunnan. The highly suitable areas are surrounded by moderately suitable areas which are surrounded by low suitable areas. (3) In the scenarios of RCP4.5 and RCP8.5, the total suitable area shows an increasing trend, reaching 41.76% and 52.30% of the land area of Yunnan Province, respectively. With higher carbon emissions, the increase in suitable area will be greater. The centroid of the suitable area would migrate toward higher altitude and higher latitude. The growers can adjust the suitable areas according to the local climate and terrain conditions and the conclusions of this paper to cope with impact of climate change on the yield of C. sinensis var.assamica. The spatial correlation pattern of economic resilience is an important proposition for China's sustainable economic development. This paper measures the economic resilience of 31 provinces in China from 2012 to 2020, and explores the spatial correlation of economic resilience from the overall, group and individual perspectives and its influencing factors. The results show that first, a tightly ordered hierarchy of economic resilience formed in each province of China after 2016. Among them, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangdong, Hubei, and Shaanxi are the most important clustering points and radiation centers in the spatial correlation framework of economic resilience. Second, being adjacent to marginal and core provinces will maintain the province's centrality index category to the greatest extent, while being adjacent to sub-core and general provinces leads the province to gain more opportunities for upward transfer. Third, the essence of the interprovincial economic resilience subordination linkage in China is manifested in the aggregation of city clusters or economic circles. The northern economic resilience linkage system with the Bohai Rim as the core contains more provinces but is less stable. Provinces located in the Yangtze River Delta region are the opposite. Fourth, the proximity of geographical location and the difference in human capital level drive the formation of spatial association networks, while the difference in external openness and the difference in physical capital inhibit the formation of networks. Exploring the spatial and temporal evolution of land use change and habitat quality is of great significance to the ecological protection and high-quality development of the three northeastern provinces. This paper selects the land use and cover data of the three northeastern provinces in 2000, 2005, 2010, 2015 and 2018, and uses ArcGIS and InVEST models to quantitatively analyze the spatial and temporal changes of land use and habitat quality in the three northeastern provinces from 2010 to 2018 according to the classification of"ecological-production-living"land use function. The results show that there are significant differences in the spatial distribution pattern of the three northeastern provinces from 2000 to 2018. The land use types have changed significantly, among which the increase of agricultural production land is the most obvious, reaching 10 604.28 km2, and the most obvious reduction of land use area is forestry ecological land, with a total reduction of 19 400.4 km2. From 2000 to 2018, the habitat quality level of the three northeastern provinces showed a downward trend on the whole, and the area of low-level habitat quality continued to expand, with an increase of 19 369 km2. The area with medi um habitat quality is also expanding, and its area has increased by 20 807 km2. The areas with good habitat quality and excellent habitat quality decreased by 19 991 km2 and 10 185 km2 respectively. The spatial distribution of habitat quality is closely related to the distribution of land use types. Areas with high habitat quality are mostly distributed in areas where woodland ecological space and grassland ecological space are widely distributed, while areas with low habitat quality tend to have a higher proportion of living space and production space than ecological space. The development statuses of cities are intimately associated with their spatial scales. Multiscale trajectories of cities are lenses through which can be discerned the pattern and tendency of regional development. In this paper, using comparisons of demographic and economic development, geographic detectors, and hierarchical logistic regressions, we examine the evolutionary characteristics and influential factors of multiscale urban development in Jilin Province, China. The findings show that alongside the "top-down" transformations of the spatial scales, the typologies of urban development tend to diversify. Economic and political factors played key roles in the divergence of growth and shrinkage of prefecture-level, while natural and social factors had strong effects on the divergence between growth and shrinkage of county-level cities and small towns. Moreover, urban development has demonstrated scale connection: towns under the jurisdictions of absolutely growing county-level cities are likely to be subjected to smart shrinkage; towns under the jurisdictions of smartly growing county-level cities are prone to potential shrinkage; towns under the jurisdictions of absolutely shrinking county-level cities are at risk of absolute shrinkage. By examining China's province‐level data, this paper uses governmental intervention theory to investigate the extent to which governmental policy interventions alleviate the impact of the COVID‐19 pandemic on local economic growth. Results suggest that stronger government intervention during COVID‐19 pandemic boost the economic recovery, and the effectiveness of governmental policy interventions is contingent on pandemic severity and local economic endowment. Specifically, facilitating effect of government intervention on economic growth is effective in all provinces, and the impact of government intervention is more pronounced in the province with more diagnosed cases, a high level of marketization and fiscal income. This paper delves into rural peasants' livelihood‐related agrarian changes revolving around their three major livelihood strategies in Qinghai. These strategies include peasant agriculture, seasonal migrant labour and caterpillar fungus harvesting, the latter two of which have been adopted since the mid‐1990s. The research particularly focuses on rural Tibetan peasants' lived experiences in their efforts to achieve sustainable livelihoods through these three strategies in a specific village context. In doing so, the paper highlights resources, qualifications, opportunities, changes and challenges in rural peasants' livelihood realities. The empirical evidence from this paper suggests that rural Tibetan peasants' diverse ways of making livelihoods have a greater potential to imagine and build sustainable and equitable livelihoods. I argue that sustainable livelihoods approaches must be pursued in tandem with a diverse economies framework for analysing rural peasants' present way of making livelihoods. This new and critical way of studying rural peasant livelihoods can particularly highlight non‐capitalist economic relations and practices that are the major contributors to sustainable and equitable livelihoods for Tibetan peasants. This paper constructs the ZSG-SBM model, comprehensive fairness allocation model, and balance allocation model from the perspectives of efficiency, fairness, and balance. Making use of the actual input-output data of China's provincial economic system in 2019, and the above three models to study the reasonable scheme of China's provincial carbon emission quota allocation in 2019. The results show that ZSG efficiency allocation can significantly improve the carbon emission efficiency of inefficient provinces, and the carbon emissions of inefficient provinces after allocation reach the efficiency frontier. The carbon emission quota of 16 provinces which located in the central and western regions of China with underdeveloped economy and relatively low carbon emission efficiency need to be decreased, while the eastern coastal provinces with more developed economy and high carbon emission efficiency in China should increase their carbon emission quota. On the one hand, comprehensive fairness allocation reduces the carbon emission reduction target constraints of economically underdeveloped provinces; on the other hand, it strengthens the carbon emission reduction target constraints of low-carbon technology backward provinces. As a result, the carbon emission quota of economically developed provinces and provinces with high carbon intensity per unit GDP is reduced in this method. The result of balancing efficiency and fairness lies between ZSG efficiency allocation and comprehensive fairness allocation. In order to alleviate the huge pressure on the emission reduction of provinces with low actual carbon emission efficiency under the ZSG efficiency allocation mode, the Chinese government can gradually increase the weight of ZSG efficiency allocation results, and finally adopt a complete ZSG efficiency allocation scheme in the carbon peak year to realize the transformation of low-carbon economy.
