Rural revitalization strategies are an important task in China. Currently, it is in the transition from poverty alleviation to rural revitalization. This paper proposes an evaluation index of rural revitalization and development potential based on a summary of previous studies. Together with the TOPSIS method, the corresponding coefficients of each index layer and the weight coefficient of the criterion layer were analyzed. This shows that during the process, the work direction of rural revitalization varies based on different revitalization types. In this study, diagnostic tools are utilized to conduct a potential development analysis of rural human settlements by identifying the main influencing factors for rural revitalization. In addition, an index system for improving rural human settlement strategies is established. Overall, it helps in defining the interventions of reducing and managing the risk of rural vitalization and evaluating the potential ability of rural revitalization. It also suggests that Anhui Province should focus on carrying out the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas according to the different functional positions of the countryside. With the rapid development of multimedia technology, short video apps have become a common form of entertainment for the elderly. Studies showed that participation in short video apps have positive impact on the elderly. However, research on the elderly's preference for apps designed for them is limited. In this study, the target subjects--the population in demand for using short video apps -- are the elderly aged 55-75 years old and in good health in rural areas of northern Anhui. The two objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze the well-known we-media software related to short videos in China; (2) to investigate and explore the elderly's demand for short video apps through Kano model questionnaire. The results showed the preference of the elderly for interface design, functional content, interaction mode, and information display. The enhancement of these four qualities in the development and design of we-media will not only provide more positive experience for elderly users, but also ensure the design suitability of we-media for them. Under the background of the new urbanization, this paper performs an empirical analysis of requisition-compensation balance indicators in Chuzhou City, and points out the problems in the land transaction. At the national level, it is necessary to intoduce the measures to regulate the market transactions of requisi/on-compensation balance indicators as soon as possible, put safeguarding the interests of the majority of farmer in the frst place during market transactions, and establish the a unified market pla/orm for the transaction of land-related indicator, so as to boost te urban construction, promote the integration of urban and rural areas, and speed up the new urbanization process. Using stakeholder survey, documentation and policy analysis, through the survey of stakeholders, this paper aims to explore the problems in the collectively owned land requisition compensation system and their causes, and put forth the reform ideas and measures to provide a reference for the development of new urbanization. The results show that there are some problems in the current land requisition compensation system, such as improper land requisition compensation standard and calculation method, low compensation standard, unsound social security system, irrational compensation and placement methods and low satisfaction of farmers whose land is requisitioned. Therefore, it is necessary to accelerate the reform of land requisition compensation system and smooth progress of new urbanization construction in accordance with the requirements of 3rd Plenum of the 18th Communist Party of China (CPC). Background: There are few studies on the epidemiology of depression, insomnia, and their association with quality of life (QOL) in older adults living in rural China. This study examined the prevalence of depressive and insomnia symptoms, and their association with QOL in community-dwelling older adults in a rural area in Anhui province, China. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in the rural areas of four cities (Hefei, Huaibei, Anqing, and Xuancheng) in Anhui province between July and October, 2019 using random sampling method. All community-dwelling residents from the selected villages who met the study entry criteria were invited to participate in this study. Depressive and insomnia symptoms and QOL were assessed with the Chinese version of self-reported Center for Epidemiological Survey Depression Scale (CES-D), the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) and the 26-item World Health Organization Quality of Life Brief version (WHOQOL-BREF), respectively. Results: A total of 871 older adults were included. The prevalence of overall depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, and comorbid depressive and insomnia symptoms were 34.0% [95% confidence intervals (95% CI): 30.8–37.1%], 45.7% (95% CI: 42.4–49.0%) and 20.3% (95% CI: 17.6–23.0%), respectively. Older adults with depressive symptoms, insomnia symptoms, and comorbid depressive and insomnia symptoms had lower scores in QOL compared to those without. Depressive symptoms were positively associated with living with families [Odd Ratio (OR) = 1.82, 95% CI: 1.31–2.54] and negatively associated with current drinking (OR = 0.49, 95% CI: 0.33–0.72). Insomnia symptoms were negatively associated with fair and good financial status (fair: OR = 0.53, 95% CI = 0.38–0.75; good: OR = 0.30, 95% CI = 0.14–0.64) and current drinking (OR = 0.64, 95% CI = 0.45–0.93), and positively associated with more frequent major medical conditions (OR = 1.32, 95% CI = 1.16–1.51). Comorbid depressive and insomnia symptoms were positively associated with living with families (OR = 2.02, 95% CI = 1.36–3.00), and negatively associated with fair and good financial status (fair: OR = 0.61, 95% CI = 0.41–0.89; good: OR = 0.34, 95% CI = 0.12–0.95) and current drinking (OR = 0.57, 95% CI = 0.35–0.92). Conclusion: Depressive and insomnia symptoms were common in older adults living in rural areas in China. The important historical mission of rural credit cooperatives (RCCs) in China is to "serving agriculture, rural areas, and farmers" so as to achieve sustainable commercial development. Using panel data on eighty-one RCCs in Anhui Province, we examine the relationship between agricultural services and operational performance among RCCs in rural China under different rates of asset growth with a threshold panel model. The results show that the influence of agricultural services on the performance of RCCs is nonlinear, with a significant threshold effect. When the asset growth rate remains moderate, agricultural services improve the commercial performance of RCCs; otherwise, it negatively affects performance. These findings imply that moderate adjustment in the asset growth rate of RCCs is conducive to simultaneous improvement in both agricultural services and commercial performance. Background: The goal of the New Rural Cooperative Medical System (NCMS) is to decrease the financial burden and improve the health of rural areas. The purpose of the present study is to determine how government subsidies vary between poorer and wealthier groups, especially in low-income regions in rural China.Methods: The distribution, amount, and equity of government subsidies delivered via NCMS to rural residents at different economic levels were assessed using benefit-incidence analysis, concentration index, Kakwani index, Gini index, Lorenz curve, and concentration curve. Household and health institution surveys were conducted in 2010, covering 9701 residents. Household socio-economic status, healthcare costs, out-of-pocket payments, and utilization information were collected in household interviews, and reimbursement policy was provided by institutional survey.Results: The government subsidy concentration index was -0.055 for outpatients and 0.505 for inpatients; and the outpatient and inpatient subsidy Kakwani indexes were -0.376 and 0.184, respectively. The poorest 20 % of populations received 3.4 % of the total subsidy output; while the wealthiest 20 % received 54.3 %. The results showed that the distribution of outpatient subsidies was equitable, but the hospital subsidies disproportionally benefited wealthier people.Conclusions: Wealthier people benefited more than poorer people from the NCMS in terms of inpatient and total subsidies. For outpatients, the subsidies were unrelated to ability to pay. This contradicts the common belief that the NCMS does not exacerbate benefit inequity. Long-term policy is required to tackle this problem, specifically of redesign the NCMS reimbursement system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
