Abstract
The article explores the Mesopotamian basis of the Indian mathematical astronomy of the Jyotisavedanga, one of the ancient text on astronomy and astrology studied by Vedic priests. Topics discussed include the originality of the pre-medieval Sanskrit text Rk-recension of the Jyotisavedanga, the intercalation-cycle of the Jyotisavedanga, and the cuneiform and the Sanskrit sources of the Indian intercalation-cycle.
