Denna bok följer PTS bankdatorsystem från dess första pilotkund, via rollen som världsledande tillverkare, till de felbeslut som gör att verksamheten faller., Philips Data Systems was one of the few European computer system manufacturers that managed to occupy the top spot worldwide in a large computer systems market segment over a considerable amount of time. In this case, it was the segment of front-office banking systems from circa 1975 to 1985. After a long development period, together with the pilot customer Svenska Handelsbanken, regular production shipments of its front-end banking computer systems commenced in early 1973. This book follows the PTS front-office banking systems from the first pilot customer, via the role as the world-leading manufacturer, to the wrong decisions that lead to the decline.

It is undeniable that the worldwide computer industry's center is the US, specifically in Silicon Valley. Much of the reason for the success of Silicon Valley had to do with Moore's Law: the observation by Intel co-founder Gordon Moore that the number of transistors on a microchip doubled at a rate of approximately every two years. According to the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors, Moore's Law will end in 2021. How can we rethink computing technology to restart the historic explosive performance growth? Since 2012, the IEEE Rebooting Computing Initiative (IEEE RCI) has been working with industry and the US government to find new computing approaches to answer this question. In parallel, the CCC has held a number of workshops addressing similar questions. This whitepaper summarizes some of the IEEE RCI and CCC findings. The challenge for the US is to lead this new era of computing. Our international competitors are not sitting still: China has invested significantly in a variety of approaches such as neuromorphic computing, chip fabrication facilities, computer architecture, and high-performance simulation and data analytics computing, for example. This research paper investigates the influence of industry on electronic customer relationship management (e-CRM) performance. A case study approach with two cases was applied to evaluate the influence of e-CRM on customer behavioral and attitudinal loyalty along with customer pyramid. The cases covered two industries consisting of computer and automotive industries. For investigating customer behavioral loyalty and customer pyramid companies database were computed while for examining customer attitudinal loyalty a survey was conducted. The results show that e-CRM has significantly different impacts on customer behavioral and attitudinal loyalty and customer pyramid in two industries. This essay explores collaborations between art and technology at the Swedish computer manufacturer Datasaab and at IBMSweden between the late 1960s and the end of the 1990s. It describes the collaborations between the computer art pioneer Lars-Gunnar Bodin and the computer programmer Göran Sundqvist, between the computer art pioneer Jan W. Morthenson and Göran Sundqvist, and the collaboration between the computer art pioneer Sture Johannesson and the computer expert Sten Kallin, examining how these collaborative projects contribute to the understanding of Bodin, Morthenson and Johannesson as avant-garde artists. The interest in the emerging computer technology expressed by the artists fits well into their general art practice and thus played an important part in defining them as belonging to an avant-garde.
