We propose to develop, build and validate a new Concept of Bridge composed of Inflatable Beams, Lightweight, Modular and Portable (PVH-LMP) for surface transport vehicles, which uses pressurized air-filled beams made of high performance composite fabrics as the primary load-bearing structural spanning members. It will be the most lightweight, modular, transportable and easy to set-up existing temporary bridge, with a much better ratio between load/weight compared to the current alternatives. Despite the promising features of the concept, these beams have not reach the market yet and their use is limited to academics and research groups far from the industry. Scaled prototypes of PVH-LMP using a wide variety of commercial fabrics have been developed by Buildair in the past few years and used to demonstrate the conceptual feasibility of such beams., Se propone desarrollar, construir y validar experimentalmente un nuevo Concepto de Puente de Vigas Hinchables Ligero, Modular y Portátil (PVH-LMP) para el transporte en superficie de vehículos, que utiliza como elemento básico estructural para aguantar las cargas vigas hinchadas con aire a baja presión fabricadas con tejidos compuestos de altas prestaciones. Una vez construido será el puente temporal más ligero, modular, transportable y fácil de montar disponible, con mucha mejor relación carga/peso en comparación con las alternativas de despliegue rápido existentes. A pesar de las características prometedoras del concepto, este tipo de vigas todavía no han llegado al mercado, y están limitadas a usos académicos y en grupos de investigación lejos del sector industrial productivo.
