1. Chemical compatibility of high entropy alloys with liquid PbLi

Abstract

The chemical compatibility and corrosion resistance of three different high entropy alloys of CrFeV-X, where X = CuW, CuMo, TaW, to stagnant eutectic PbLi was studied. Three nominal HEAs compositions, Cr35Fe35V20W5Ta5 (H-TaW), Cu5Cr35Fe35V20W5 (H-CuW) and Cu5Cr35Fe35V20Mo5 (H-CuMo) were prepared by vacuum arc melting under a low pressure He atmosphere using a non-consumable W electrode and starting from pure elemental pieces with purity > 99.97. Planoparallel specimens of the HEAs were mirror polished and subjected to stagnant PbLi at the eutectic composition, (14.9 ± 1.99) % of Li, at a temperature of 550 °C, corresponding to the working temperature of the WCLL, for increasing times of 168 and 1344 h. After the tests, the microstructure of the samples was cleaned to remove adhered PbLi and analyzed by SEM/EDX and EBSD. SIMS measurements were performed to study the diffusion of into the matrix. From the concentration curves of lithium in the alloys, the diffusion differences of lithium were determined and correlated with the differences in the alloying elements. Furthermore, the corrosion behavior of the alloy showed important differences with the composition of the HEAs and their differences in microstructure. The most significant result is that W has a detrimental effect on the corrosion resistance of PbLi.

Abstract

This article presents a computational numerical model for the simulation and analysis of quantum chemistry and Gibbs free energy theory using static (ANNS), dynamic (DANN), and chaotic neural networks (CANN). The model calculates the physical-surface mechanics of hardness, adhesion, and strength. They resulted in nanostructured metal coatings with electrodeposited chromium nanoparticles on low-carbon steel. The ANNS, DANN, and CANN simulations showed that model-obtained values for analyzed properties presented an approximation of 99 % concerning theoretical matters taken as base. Likewise, model accuracy was verified by comparison with reference data (datasheet). The proposed model is not limited to the analyzed case and provides consistent results for predicting surface physical-mechanical properties of electrodeposited coating-substrate arrangements, with a minimum error percentage of 1–1.5 % over learning.

Abstract

This data article presents a simulation model based on quantum mechanics and energy potentials for obtaining simulation data that allows, from the perspective of materials informatics, the prediction of the electrodeposition mechanism for forming nanostructured metallic coatings. The development of the research is divided into two parts i) the formulation (Quantum mechanical model and Corrected model for electron prediction; using a modified Schrödinger equation) and ii) the implementation of the theoretical prediction model (Discretization of the model). For the simulation process, the finite element method (FEM) was used considering the equation of electric potential and electroneutrality with and without the inclusion of quantum leap. We also provide the code to perform QM simulations in CUDA®, and COMSOL® software, the simulation parameters, and data for two metallic arrangements of chromium nanoparticles (CrNPs) electrodeposited on commercial steel substrate. (CrNPs-AISI 1020 steel and CrNPs-A618 steel). Data collection shows the direct relationship between applied potential (VDC), current (A), concentration (ppm), and time (s) for the homogeneous formation of the coating during the electrodeposition process, as estimated by the theoretical model developed. Their potential reuse data is done to establish the precision of the theoretical model in predicting the formation and growth of nanostructured surface coatings with metallic nanoparticles to give surface-mechanical properties.

Abstract

This work is a study about new acoustic panels made of cork granulates coming from stopper by-products to be used as acoustic ceilings tiles, providing a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional building materials. Cork granulates were bonded with water-based epoxy and acrylic resins. The obtained panels were acoustically and mechanically tested. The results showed values of sound absorption coefficient close to 0.50 and acceptable flexural strength for their use as suspended ceiling tiles. Therefore, these bio-based panels could be used as an alternative product to the traditional materials used for noise control applications inside commercial spaces like closed entertainment areas.

Abstract

The need to regulate the water volume as a function of irrigation needs, as well as the availability of hydric resources, caused the building of a high number of irrigation reservoir. This research describes the process for the development of floods maps when the break hypothesis is considered in irrigation reservoirs. This process was applied on 14 study cases, using FLDWAV and IBER model. The results showed the difference between the failure forms (piping and overtopping). These differences force to consider the two failure hypotheses in the study. Different criteria of damage were defined through velocity and depth values, which enable to interpret more specific the risk areas. The study contributes to improve the interpretation of this type of situations, helping in the planning and management of these possible emergencies.

Abstract

Oxide dispersion strengthened steels are candidate materials for nuclear reactor applications due to a powerful combination of properties, such as reduced activation, high-temperature strength and increased creep resistance. The dispersion of nanometric oxide particles in the steel matrix may also enhance radiation resistance by acting as trapping sites for irradiation induced defects. In this work, an Fe–14Cr–2 W–0.3-Ti–0.3Y2O3 (wt%) steel and a model Fe-14Cr (wt%) alloy were sequentially irradiated with He+ and Fe+ ions up to 15 dpa and 8000 appm to simulate fusion radiation damage. Their microstructural stability was investigated by positron annihilation spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Transmission electron microscopy studies show that under these irradiation conditions there are no significant changes in the mean size, qualitative chemical composition and number density of nanoparticles, although the irradiation appears to induce a slight coarsening of the smaller nanoparticles. Abstract

The present paper studies the corrosion behavior of several sputtered coatings (nanostructured W, SiC and Al2O3) under the working conditions expected for the helium cooled pebbles bed breeder concept to be used in future nuclear fusion reactors. To this purpose, coatings were evaluated during 240 h at a temperature of 550 °C in Helium atmosphere with 120 ppms of water to simulate the purge gas in the presence of ceramic pebbles whose composition was a mixture of lithium silicate/titanate. The 3-D topography, morphology, microstructure and elemental composition of the coatings were studied prior to and after the corrosion tests. Results evidence that coatings show quite different corrosion behavior: Because of oxidation, nW is completely ruled out for such application, the corrosion behavior of Al2O3 coating is questionable whereas, SiC coating is shown to act as a real corrosion barrier. Nanoscratch measurements of this last coating show that it also has a good adhesion to the Eurofer substrate both prior to and after the corrosion test.

Insulin resistance (IR) produces qualitative, quantitative and kinetic changes of lipoproteins in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). Carob-fruit-extract (CFE) has demonstrated antidiabetic properties but barely studies have evaluated the effect of CFE functional-meat consumption on early stages of T2DM. The current study was designed to analyze the effect of CFE-enriched meat-consumption on lipemia, lipoprotein profile and its relation with IR in T2DM model. Sixteen Wistar rats were divided in: C group, fed high-saturated-fat diet with commercial meat; and CE group, fed high-saturated-fat diet containing CFE-enriched meat. Abstract

Advanced lithium-rich ceramic materials are under consideration for the helium cooled pebble-bed breeder unit prototype in ITER. Although chemical compatibility issues with reduced activation steels have in general been associated with liquid breeders, corrosion has also been observed to be produced by some solid compositions under specific conditions. In this work, the mechanisms including the corrosion process considering different lithium ceramics (lithium orthosilicate and lithium metatitanate) are examined, together with the influence of temperature and exposure time. The effect of the composition of the purge gas, intended for tritium extraction, is also evaluated. Corrosion in Eurofer was found to severely occur for metatitanate composition, where temperature plays a major role. 10. New natural convection heat transfer correlations in enclosures for building performance simulation

Abstract

This paper presents new correlations to calculate natural convection heat transfer coefficients (CHTC) in enclosures for building performance simulation. Current work related to the development of correlations is not oriented to building enclosures, and the influence of high numbers of Rayleigh (Ra) and aspect ratio on the CHTC has not been studied in detail. In this work, two new correlations have been developed for a vertical wall, one in laminar regime (Ra 106). All correlations have been developed as function of the aspect ratio (H/L) and Ra numbers calculated from the enclosure average air temperature and wall surface temperature. By contrast, in previous works the Ra numbers have been calculated from the temperature difference of opposite walls. Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations for different aspect ratios (H/L = 0.5–1–2) and Ra numbers (103–1011) have been carried out in order to obtain these correlations. The SIMPLE algorithm has been used for the solution of the Navier–Stokes equations and the realizable turbulence k- $ \varepsilon $ model with an enhanced wall-function treatment has been used. The correlations developed follow the expected trend for the low number of Ra in comparison with the expressions developed by other authors. For a high number of Ra, our correlations improve the previous correlations, because it is a function of the aspect ratio of the enclosure and the average air temperature of the enclosure. This approach is simple to implement in the construction of thermal simulation programs with low computational cost.

11. Trapping and thermal diffusion for energetic deuterium implanted into SiC

Abstract

During ITER and DEMO reactor operation Li–Pb blanket flow channel inserts made from SiC will be exposed to both radiation and tritium. Absorption, desorption, and tritium diffusion are expected to occur and will strongly depend on the irradiation conditions; temperature, and neutron and gamma fluxes. Reaction bonded (RB) SiC samples were deuterium implanted at both room temperature and 450°C at different implantation energies and the corresponding TSD spectrum was obtained for each implantation energy. After implantation the samples were subjected to SIMS analysis. The TSD spectra obtained for all the samples implanted at different energies are very similar and characterized by a prominent deuterium desorption occurring at temperatures between 450 and 1000°C with a maximum that exhibits a clear trend to shift toward higher temperature as either implantation energy or implantation temperature increase. SIMS analysis before heating the deuterium implanted samples indicates that the implanted deuterium has a tendency to become bonded to Si rather than to C. The SIMS analysis shows that once heated up to 1000°C only part of the implanted deuterium was thermally released. The temperature shift observed when increasing the deuterium implantation energy and, hence, penetration, implies a deuterium diffusivity value at 700°C of about 8.5×10−17m2/s.

La investigación ecológica a largo plazo proporciona información útil para comprender las complejas dinámicas de los sistemas naturales. Esto se hace especialmente importante en las regiones de montaña como Sierra Nevada, que presenta un fuerte gradiente de condiciones ambientales en una escala espacial pequeña. En el sitio LTER-Sierra Nevada se ha implementado un programa de seguimiento a largo plazo que, junto con la integración de información ecológica sobre los ecosistemas nevadenses, está permitiendo evaluar los efectos del cambio global en esta región de montaña. En este trabajo presentamos algunos resultados de los impactos del cambio global sobre los ecosistemas nevadenses, obtenidos tras varios años de implantación del Observatorio del Cambio Global de Sierra Nevada. Además de una evaluación temporal de los principales motores de cambio global (clima y usos del suelo), presentamos varios casos de estudio del impacto del cambio global sobre la componente biótica y socioeconómica de los ecosistemas de Sierra Nevada.

La llegada del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior conlleva importantes cambios en el proceso de enseñanza/aprendizaje: es conveniente involucrar de forma más efectiva a los alumnos así como promover su independencia y participación activa en este proceso. Este nuevo marco engloba el aumento en el desarrollo y utilización de las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación en el campo de la educación y el análisis del resultado académico de los estudiantes. Se describe, a continuación, la implementación de un nuevo entorno de aprendizaje para Electrónica de Potencia. Para evaluar las ventajas e inconvenientes de este nuevo entorno y el cumplimiento de los objetivos, se han diseñado diversos cuestionarios para los estudiantes. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran los beneficios en el uso del nuevo entorno de aprendizaje y un importante aumento en la motivación de los alumnos.

15. I+D+i aplicada al control de especies invasoras en ecosistemas fluviales mediterráneos. El caso de la caña común (Arundo donax L.)

Abstract

La problemática relacionada con Arundo donax L. (caña común) ha ido más allá de las implicaciones biológicas asociadas a las especies invasoras. La extensa ocupación de los cañaverales en los márgenes de los ríos en toda la región mediterránea genera un amplio abanico de graves impactos, que ha llevado a que se pusiera en marcha un proyecto de investigación específico para el control de la especie. El proyecto ha consistido en el ensayo de una batería de tratamientos para el control de la especie: herbicidas, tratamientos físicos, mecánicos y biológicos, además del conocimiento de su biología en las zonas donde se han llevado a cabo los tratamientos, mediante el censo de las poblaciones. Por último, se han experimentado técnicas de teledetección para conocer su distribución. Los resultados han mostrado que es posible alcanzar un control severo y duradero de la especie en las zonas donde se ha actuado, tanto por métodos químicos como por métodos biológicos y mecánicos.

Abstract

In high-energy collisions, the spatio-temporal size of the particle production region can be measured using the Bose–Einstein correlations of identical bosons at low relative momentum. The source radii are typically extracted using two-pion correlations, and characterize the system at the last stage of interaction, called kinetic freeze-out. In low-multiplicity collisions, unlike in high-multiplicity collisions, two-pion correlations are substantially altered by background correlations, e.g. mini-jets. Such correlations can be suppressed using three-pion cumulant correlations. We present the first measurements of the size of the system at freeze-out extracted from three-pion cumulant correlations in pp, p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC with ALICE. At similar multiplicity, the invariant radii extracted in p–Pb collisions are found to be 5–15% larger than those in pp, while those in Pb–Pb are 35–55% larger than those in p–Pb. Our measurements disfavor models which incorporate substantially stronger collective expansion in p–Pb as compared to pp collisions at similar multiplicity.

Abstract

Objective: Adult scoliosis (AS) is often associated with rotational thoracolumbar (TL) kyphosis. The impact of surgical correction on lumbar sagittal distribution, ideal sagittal plane matching, and mechanical complications is still underexplored. Methods: In this retrospective study, prospectively collected data were analyzed from a multicenter adult deformity database. Inclusion criteria were surgical patients with AS and TL/L curves > 30°, T10-L2 sagittal kyphosis (TLK) > 20°, and at least a 2-year follow-up. Abstract

This Letter describes a method to quantify online and in real-time, the level of degrading of the series parasitic resistance R s of a photovoltaic (PV) panel. This method aims to obtain the herein proposed M-factor, which results from the calculation of the slopes of the I–V curve in the boundaries of its maximum power-point. For this purpose, the slight modification of the maximum power-point tracker controller’ perturb and observe algorithm is required. This procedure can be easily integrated into its firmware with no additional costs. The M-factor calculation is performed instantaneously and since no disconnection is required, no significant power losses are produced.

Abstract

Global energy consumption for cooling applications is increasing every year, accelerating the fossil fuels consumption and the CO2 emissions. To improve the performance of the vapour compression cycles, ejectors can use the low grade wasted energy as a means of heat recovery. Several proposals have been studied to improve the global Coefficient Of Performance of the ejector cycles. However, very few optimised the ejector geometry to obtain the maximum performance. A CFD-based multi-objective optimization of the ejector geometry and a thermodynamic model of the cooling cycle have been coupled to obtain the best performance of four types of thermally-driven ejector cycles. The results predicted improvements of up to 13% and 23% in the rated Coefficient Of Performance and the Seasonal Energy Performance Ratio, respectively, compared with the basic vapour compression cycle. Using geometrically optimised ejectors makes it possible to achieve a high level of performance that justifies the use of this technology.

Abstract

An additional function of the permeation barriers is the protective action against corrosion. Although corrosion is not expected to be a major concern for the helium cooled pebble bed concept, it is not negligible and the joint action of the working temperature (350oC-550 °C) and the lithium ceramic pebbles produces a corrosion layer in the surface of Eurofer material directly exposed to this environment. Accelerated corrosion tests have been carried out in Eurofer protected by different coatings including Al2O3 prepared by pulsed laser deposition and thermal projection, nano-structured tungsten prepared by DC magnetron sputtering and other commercial coatings based on mixed chromium and aluminum oxinitrides obtained by arc evaporation technique. Tests were performed using a mixture of He/H2O as a purge gas. Two different lithium ceramics pebbles were tested: lithium orthosilicate (K-S) prepared in KIT by the KALOS method and lithium metatitanate obtained by the emulsion method in JAEA (J-T). This paper compares the corrosion layer produced at different temperatures (550 °C and 800 °C) and shows the protection provided by certain coatings under severe conditions of temperature (800 °C) for 730 h. The most promising results have been obtained for aluminum oxide coatings, which stands out this material as the best candidate.

In this work, irradiation experiments of Fe Cr alloy (15% Cr content) by heavy (Fe ) and light (He ) ions have been carried out in order to characterize the damage and, additionally, the influence of an external magnetic field (B = 0.4 T) has been taken into account. The analysis of the data has been done with different techniques, the distribution of the Cr and/or vacancies around probe nuclei has been explored by Mössbauer spectroscopy and the vacancy profile by Slow Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (SPAS). Comparison between samples irradiated by He and Fe , in absence of B, reveals significant differences in the average hyperfine magnetic field ( = 0.8 T). This can be attributed to changes in the local environment around the probe nuclei ( Fe) where either vacancies or the Cr distribution play a role. From depth-profiling by SPAS in Fe irradiated samples, a large concentration of vacancy-type defects is found with a profile that extends deeper than that predicted by computer simulations. Furthermore, sequential irradiation by Fe and He ions indicates that the He atoms tend to fill the vacancy clusters just in the depth where the He is implanted. On the other hand, small but significant differences in vacancy-type defect profiles are found between the samples irradiated both in the presence and absence of a magnetic field (B = 0.4 T) both independently of single and sequential irradiation. Abstract

In this paper the deposition and surface growth of chromium nanoparticles (CrNPs) coatings on a commercial steel substrate by electrodeposition at a constant current, is presented; both theoretically through a theoretical-computational model applying a modified Schrodinger equation, energy potentials and electrochemistry and phitosynthesis of Cr Nanoparticles . For the simulation process, the finite element method (FEM) was used considering the equation of electric potential and electroneutrality with and without the inclusion of a quantum leap. The theoretical results are in accordance with the experimental results, considering a three-level multifactorial experiment design with current, voltage and ion concentration as factors and the formation and growth of the coatings as a response function. The results obtained indicate the presence of electro-diffusion at the substrate-coating interface. The developed model has the predictive ability of 97±2 % for the electrochemical deposition of CrNPs on a steel substrate.

Abstract

Oxide dispersion strengthened steels are candidate materials for nuclear reactor applications due to a powerful combination of properties, such as reduced activation, high-temperature strength and increased creep resistance. The dispersion of nanometric oxide particles in the steel matrix may also enhance radiation resistance by acting as trapping sites for irradiation induced defects. In this work, an Fe–14Cr–2 W–0.3-Ti–0.3Y2O3 (wt%) steel and a model Fe-14Cr (wt%) alloy were sequentially irradiated with He+ and Fe+ ions up to 15 dpa and 8000 appm to simulate fusion radiation damage. Their microstructural stability was investigated by positron annihilation spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. Transmission electron microscopy studies show that under these irradiation conditions there are no significant changes in the mean size, qualitative chemical composition and number density of nanoparticles, although the irradiation appears to induce a slight coarsening of the smaller nanoparticles. Abstract

SiC materials are prime candidates for flow channel inserts in the dual coolant lithium lead blanket concept. Flow channel inserts made of SiC will be exposed to tritium from the Li transmutation, as well as to neutron and gamma radiation. Hence a critical issue for future fusion devices is to clarify hydrogen isotope behaviour in SiC under such conditions. The objective of the work presented here is to study the effect of ionizing radiation on the deuterium trapping in Reaction Bonded SiC in similar conditions as reactor materials. This effect is evaluated by studying the influence of ionizing radiation on deuterium trapping (for both implanted and loaded SiC samples). Moreover, it is investigated how deuterium trapping may be modified by displacement damage. The ionizing radiation effect on absorption has also been evaluated for samples pre-damaged by self-ion irradiation. The irradiation and implantation experiment have been carried out at the CMAM-UAM accelerator, and the Danfysik implanter and 2 MeV Van de Graaff electron accelerator at CIEMAT. Samples are analysed by thermal desorption spectroscopy and secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) to clarify the mechanisms involved in the trapping processes, depending on the different experimental conditions. The results for the deuterium loaded samples indicate that absorption is increased by ionizing radiation. When samples are pre-damaged by C+4 ions, deuterium absorption is increased in the form of Si-D according to SIMS results. Furthermore, the effect of ionizing radiation after deuterium implantation is an enhancement of the deuterium released from SiC. The deuterium release observed in this case is forming hydrocarbons during irradiations.

Abstract

Aims The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of surgery using growing rods in patients with severe versus moderate early-onset scoliosis (EOS). Patients and Methods A review of a multicentre EOS database identified 107 children with severe EOS (major curve ≥ 90°) treated with growing rods before the age of ten years with a minimum follow-up of two years and three or more lengthening procedures. From the same database, 107 matched controls with moderate EOS were identified. Results The mean preoperative major curve was 101° (90 to 139) in the severe group and 67° (33° to 88°) in the moderate group (p Conclusion Severe EOS can be treated effectively using growing rods, but the risk of complications is high. Abstract

Advanced lithium-rich ceramic materials are under consideration for the helium cooled pebble-bed breeder unit prototype in ITER. Although chemical compatibility issues with reduced activation steels have in general been associated with liquid breeders, corrosion has also been observed to be produced by some solid compositions under specific conditions. In this work, the mechanisms including the corrosion process considering different lithium ceramics (lithium orthosilicate and lithium metatitanate) are examined, together with the influence of temperature and exposure time. The effect of the composition of the purge gas, intended for tritium extraction, is also evaluated. Corrosion in Eurofer was found to severely occur for metatitanate composition, where temperature plays a major role. In a solid breeding blanket, ceramic breeder pebbles are in contact with reduced activation ferritic martensitic (RAFM) steel at high temperatures for years and accordingly form a corrosion layer on the blanket structural steel. Abstract

The resolution of the Photovoltaic modules electrical using mathematical models can be addressed in different ways. Depending on the degree of precision required, several options are available, which will require more or less computational resources in order to solve it. The simplified models have the advantage that they require less resources than the non-simplified ones. This is possible since some parameters are omitted and, therefore, their effect is consequently discarded. In this sense, the herein proposed Photovoltaic module implicit equation model resolution procedure allows to obtain the characteristic current voltage curves, considering all the implied electrical parameters. Furthermore, it is proved that referred model, in comparison with the simplified one, evidences that this one is providing results with a low percentage of error.

Abstract

Nowadays, the development of the photovoltaic (PV) technology is consolidated as a source of renewable energy. The research in the topic of maximum improvement on the energy efficiency of the PV plants is today a major challenge. The main requirement for this purpose is to know in real-time the working point of each of the PV modules that integrate the PV field and improve their performance. For this purpose, a Power Line Communications (PLC) based Smart Monitoring and Communications Module, which is able to monitor at PV level their operating parameters, has been developed at the University of Malaga. This device can check if any of the panels is suffering any type of overriding performance, due to a malfunction or partial shadowing of its surface. In this paper, the data acquisition system is described and subsequently the solution of the most energy-efficient path was arised from information acquired in real-time. Through graph theory and Minkoski’s paths have been possible to deduce the recursive programming algorithm that generate a dynamic reconfiguration to solve this problem.

Abstract

This study presents new correlations for internal forced convective heat-transfer coefficients (CHTCs) in buildings. CHTCs are used by building energy performance simulation (BES) tools to estimate the annual heating and cooling demands of buildings. Most programs use constant values or correlations but do not consider in detail the 3D geometry or the dimensions and positions of the inlet and outlet openings. The correlations developed here take into account 3D geometry and the dimensions and positions of the inlet/outlet openings in opposite walls. A new methodology has been developed for the calculation of CHTCs in 3D enclosures from two 2D planes, one with a horizontal orientation and another with a vertical orientation. Comparing the results from correlations with those from computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, the errors found are less than 15%. These correlations are easy to use in BES.

Abstract

In this paper we report on the performance as deuterium permeation barriers of sputtered amorphous, dense and not fully stoichiometric SiC coatings under relevant conditions for breeder blanket applications in fusion reactors. To do that, we investigate the following effects on permeation values: (i) thermal cycling at 450 °C, (ii) combined thermal cycling and e− irradiation (1.8 MeV up to a total dose of 1 MGy), as well as (iii) oxygen exposure at a temperature of 450 °C during e− irradiation. Data show that the permeation reduction factor (PRF) for the as-deposited SiC coated is ∼10 4, even at the predicted operation temperature for the breeder and it is slightly reduced either by thermal cycling without and during e− irradiation. However, the exposure to oxygen at 450 °C during e− irradiation leads to degradation of the coating and of its PRF of about three orders of magnitude. The origin of the coating degradation is discussed. We also study the D retention and desorption in SiC coatings that were implanted with D at energy of 7.5 keV prior to (as-deposited) and after being submitted to the treatments previously described. Secondary ion mass spectroscopy data show that thermal cycling, without and during e− irradiation, strongly increases the D retention in the coatings and leads to the appearance of D2 desorption peak at temperatures between ∼400-750 °C, whereas e-irradiation during thermal cycling does not significantly change the D retention but shifts to higher temperatures thisD2 desorption peak
