Due to their potential utility in applications such as electrical, thermal, optical, and immobilising host materials in nuclear waste, perovskite-type ceramic materials have been extensively investigated. In present work, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV–vis absorption spectroscopy studies were used to investigate Barium Zirconate perovskite BaZrO
3 nano-particles synthesized by pure-combustion technique and sintered at 1200° C for 12 hours. X-ray powder diffraction investigation confirmed the perovskite structure and phase composition of BaZrO3 NPs (XRD). BaZrO3 diffraction peaks correspond to a cubic perovskite structure with space group Pm3m (221). The Williamson-Hall plot estimates the crystallite size. The SEM image depicts the surface morphology of BaZrO3 nanoparticles and illustrates that the particles' sizes vary by a few nanometers with no apparent shape. UV–visible (UV– vis) absorption spectroscopy was used to evaluate optical characteristics. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published
