Abstract

The basis of modern education is the development of students' key competences. Communicative competence is one of the main key competencies that is important for the full application of an individual in society. This competency can be developed using traditional methods, but in today's digital age, there are many other potentially suitable approaches. One of these may be the use of mobile technologies. The main aim of this article is to analyze selected publications and to determine the current state of the problem of developing communicative competence using mobile technologies in mathematics education. Within the theoretical part, the authors define the theoretical background of the issue. In the practical part of the article, a thorough search of the Scopus and Web of Science databases was performed, based on which 3 publications were selected and analyzed in detail. Abstract

The importance of intelligent tutoring systems has rapidly increased in past decades. There has been an exponential growth in the number of ends users that can be addressed as well as in technological development of the environments, which makes it more sophisticated and easily implementable. In the introduction, the paper offers a brief overview of intelligent tutoring systems. It then focuses on two types that have been designed for education of students in the tertiary sector. The systems use elements of adaptivity in order to accommodate as many users as possible. They serve both as a support of presence lessons and, primarily, as the main educational environment for students in the distance form of studies – e-learning. The systems are described from the point of view of their functionalities and typical features that show their differences. The authors conclude with an attempt to choose the best features of each system, which would lead to creation of an even more sophisticated intelligent tutoring system for e-learning.

Abstract

Modern education is based on the development of key competencies. By developing key competencies, we should prepare pupils and students for real life, i.e. for their beneficial integration into society and their professional life. At the same time, digital devices are penetrating education, of which mobile technologies have a strong position in education. Much research has looked at the impact of mobile technology on the learning process, motivation and learning fixation, but does this technology have an impact on the development of key competencies? These thoughts led the authors to produce a review study that maps the role of mobile technology in the development of key competencies. The paper aims to analyse the available literature and determine the current state of the art on the issue described above. In the theoretical part of the paper, the authors describe the theoretical background that formed the basis for the development of the review study. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the area of mobile technologies in education, where the authors define the term mobile technologies and briefly outline their position in education. Another area discussed is key competencies, where the authors define the term, describe their role in the context of European education, and focus in detail on key competencies for learning, problem solving, communicative competencies, and digital competencies. The last theoretical area described is the the research methodology, in which the authors focus exclusively on defining the concept of a review study. The research part contains the methodology of the conducted research, where the specific procedure of the review study is described. 50 publications were selected and analysed in detail, and the information found was recorded in a table. The results of the research do not only contain conclusions about which key competencies are developed by mobile technologies but also look at, among other things, what level of education uses this technology or how different countries perceive this issue. Abstract

The article presents knowledge about the modified e-learning on-line synchronous teaching of digital systems, which took place in the period of widespread closure of schools during almost the entire school year 2020/2021 at a secondary school with an IT focus. The importance of teaching digital systems in computer science and the integration of teaching into available lessons is briefly clarified. Furthermore, the content of teaching is presented, including its modification by elements of programming by DCBLP discourse and links to existing knowledge about this use from previous years. The subject of research interest will be the specific effects of changes on students' opinions regarding the content of the subject. For this purpose, a qualitative investigation based on the design of the grounded theory will be used. The work brings partial knowledge that can serve as additional material for the determination of other research questions, hypotheses and identification of potential problems in teaching. The results show the pupils' interest in the digital systems enriched by the programming discourse reveals the possible perception of a long time distance learning in this area. Mobile touch technologies, such as tablets, are among the ICTs that are very attractive to pupils. In general, we can say that this ICT can motivate pupils, it can facilitate pupils some kind of work, offers interactivity, multimedia. If a pupil is diagnosed with mild mental retardation or moderate mental retardation, then the pupil observes a lower level of concentration, such a pupil is slightly distracted during his work and the achieved work result is lower.
