Objective To investigate the association between retinal nerve fiber layer (RNFL) thickness and cognitive dysfunction in patients with mild ischemic stroke. Methods Total 146 patients with mild ischemic stroke that diagnosed and treated in Chengde Central Hospital in Hebei from January 2020 to December 2021 were included. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) was used to measure the RNFL thickness in each quadrant of both eyes, and Mini⁃Mental State Examination (MMSE) and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) were used to evaluate cognitive function. Results In patients with mild ischemic stroke, the RNFL thickness at the superior side of left eye was greater than right eye (t = ⁃ 4.589, P = 0.000), and the RNFL thickness at the temporal side of right eye was greater than left eye (t = 3.639, P = 0.000). Correlation analysis showed that the correlation between the RNFL thickness at the superior side of the left eye and the MMSE score (r = 0.385, P = 0.000), the RNFL thickness at the temporal side of the left eye and the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score at admission (r = 0.170, P = 0.020) were positively correlated. The correlation between the RNFL thickness at the inferior side of the left eye and the history of drinking (r = ⁃ 0.216, P = 0.011), the RNFL thickness at the temporal side of the right eye and the history of hypertension (r = ⁃ 0.194, P = 0.023) were negativley correlated. Conclusions The thinning of RNFL in patients with mild ischemic stroke may have a certain degree of association with cognitive dysfunction.

In this article, we focus on investigating the new coupled Konno–Oono equation that arises in the magnetic field. An effective technology called the Exp-function method (EFM) is utilized to find abundant analytical solutions. By this method, four families (28 sets) of the exact solutions, such as bright solitary, dark solitary, bright–dark solitary, double-bright solitary, double-dark solitary and kinky bright–dark solitary wave solutions, are constructed. The performances of the real, imaginary and absolute parts of the solutions are presented in the form of 3D contours. The results show that the EFM is a promising method to construct abundant analytical solutions for the partial differential equations arising in physics.

Photocatalytic production of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) has broad application prospects in converting solar energy into chemical energy. However, the traditional powder catalyst is faced with problems such as difficult recovery and secondary pollution. PVC/ZnO composite film for photocatalytic H2O2 generation was prepared by loading ZnO photocatalyst on PVC film, and its photocatalytic performance, catalytic mechanism and stability were studied. The results show that the PVC/ZnO-0.4 composite film exhibites the best photocatalytic performance, and the cumulative concentration of H2O2 reaches 165.15 μmol/L within 60 min. The catalytic mechanism study shows that the two-electron oxygen reduction produces H2O2. The study of cycle stability shows that the PVC/ZnO composite film has excellent cycle performance and stability. The prepared PVC/ZnO composite photocatalytic film can effectively avoid catalyst loss, thereby improving the overall catalytic performance of the photocatalytic material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The (2 + 1) -dimensional Boussinesq equation plays a key role in modeling the shallow water. In this work, we derive a new fractional (2 + 1) -dimensional Boussinesq equation based on the conformable fractional derivative for the first time. By means of the Hirota bilinear method, we obtain the N -soliton, breather and lump solutions. In addition, the abundant traveling wave solutions like bright solitary, dark solitary wave solutions are investigated by applying the variational method. The solutions are presented through the 3D plots and 2D contours by assigning the proper parameters. The corresponding physical interpretations are also elaborated. In this study, a new fractional Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation (ZKE) within the local fractional derivative (LFD) is derived. Yang's non-differentiable (ND) traveling wave transform is introduced, then two novel techniques namely the Mittag-Leffler function-based method (MLFBM) and Yang's special function method (Y-SFM) are adopted to seek for the ND exact solutions for the first time. With the aid of the Mathematica software, the dynamic behaviors of the different solutions on the Cantor sets are illustrated via the 3D plots by assigning the appropriate parameters. The attained results confirm that the mentioned methods are effective and straightforward, which can be used to study the ND exact solutions of the local fractional partial differential equations (PDEs).
