1. On the Northward Shift of the Heliospheric Current Sheet at the End of Solar Cycle 24

Abstract

Since solar cycle 16, the { heliospheric} current sheet (HCS) has been found to be shifted southward during the late declining to minimum phase. However, this trend is broken at the end of solar cycle 24. In this paper, we analyze the shift of the HCS by using information obtained from coronal model and insitu data provide by the near-Earth OMNI database and the Parker Solar Probe (PSP). Coronal potential field source surface (PFSS) modeling results show that the northward shift is established at the beginning of 2018 and remains stable for about two years. Interplanetary magnetic field data obtained from and within 1 au also support the northward shift, as the southern polarity T appears more frequently than the northern polarity A between 2018-2020. Both model results and insitu observation obtained by PSP imply that the HCS shift is established in the corona, and then propagates into the heliosphere. 7. Is Solar Minimum 24/25 Another Unusual One?

Abstract

The solar minimum 23/24 is considered to be unusual because it exhibits features that differ notably from those commonly seen in pervious minima. In this letter, we analyze the solar polar magnetic field, the potential-field solution of the solar corona, and the in-situ solar wind measurements to see whether the recent solar minimum 24/25 is another unusual one. While the dipolar configuration that are commonly seen during minimum 22/23 and earlier minima persist for about half a year after the absolute minimum of solar cycle 24, the corona has a morphology more complex than a simple dipole before the absolute minimum. The fast solar wind streams are less dominant than minimum 23/24. The IMF strength, density and mass flux that are historically low in the minimum 23/24 are regained during minimum 24/25, but still do not reach the minimum 22/23 level. From the analysis of this Letter, it seems that the minimum 24/25 is only partially unusual, and the recovery of the commonly minimum features may result from the enhancement of the polar field., Comment: Accepted by APJL

Abstract

To explore the therapeutic effect of metformin combined with single high-dose radiotherapy in mice with non-small cell lung cancer and the mechanism involved. In vitro cell test: the cytotoxicity of metformin under different oxygen and glucose contents was evaluated using cell survival curves. In vivo xenograft tumor test: NSCLC-A549 cells were injected into mice, which were then divided into the following five groups: control group, metformin group, single high-dose radiotherapy group, metformin 1 h before radiotherapy group, and metformin 24 h after radiotherapy group. Growth of the tumor was evaluated in each group, and the blood flow and histology of the tumor tissues were analyzed. According to the in vitro test results, metformin was the most cytotoxic under hypoxic and low-glucose conditions. The in vivo results showed that the tumor volume was the smallest in the mouse groups administered metformin 1 h before high-dose radiotherapy and 24 h after radiotherapy ((0.47±0.12) cm3 and (0.49±0.21) cm3, respectively). Blood flow analysis showed that single high-dose radiotherapy destroyed the micro-vessels of tumor tissue and reduced the perfusion of oxygen and glucose. Histological analysis revealed that cells in hypoxic and hypoglycemic area of the tumor tissue center were preferentially killed by metformin, whereas there were viable cells in the surrounding well perfused areas. Metformin combined with single high-dose radiotherapy enhanced the toxicity by changing tumor cell metabolism. These results provide theoretical and data support for the future use of metformin combined with stereotactic body radiotherapy.

35. The Application of Big Data in the Management of Ideological and Political Education in the Development of Education Network

Abstract

Based on a brief analysis of the current situation of university education management and research on intelligent algorithms, this article constructs a university education management system based on big data. For the clustering and prediction modules in higher education management, corresponding algorithms are used for optimization design. A fuzzy clustering algorithm based on entropy weight is proposed to address the shortcomings of the C-means clustering algorithm. This algorithm adds weighting coefficients on the basis of improvement and continuously updates the clustering centers. The prediction module uses Apriori algorithm to map and compress the target transaction database, reduces the number of candidate item sets through pruning process, and designs simulation experiments to measure the performance of the algorithm. The simulation results show that the clustering results of this algorithm are closer to the actual clustering situation, with shorter running time and better algorithm performance.

Abstract

For a three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics solar wind model, it is necessary to carry out assessment studies to reveal its ability and limitation. In this paper, the ambient solar wind results of year 2008 generated by the CESE-HLLD 3D MHD model are compared with multipoint in-situ measurements during the late declining phase of solar cycle 23. The near-ecliptic results are assessed both quantitatively and qualitatively by comparing with in-situ data obtained at the L1 point and by the twin STEREO spacecraft. The assessment reveals the model’s ability in reproducing the time series and statistical characteristics of solar wind parameters, and in catching the change of interplanetary magnetic field polarity and the occurrence of the stream interaction regions. We find that the two-stream structure observed near the ecliptic plane is reproduced, but the differences among observations at L1 and the twin STEREO spacecraft are not caught by the model. The latitudinal variation of the results is assessed by comparing with the Ulysses observation. The characters of variation in different latitudinal ranges are duplicated by the model, but biases of the results are seen, and the boundary layers between fast and slow solar wind are sometimes thicker than observation.
