Body length: 14.0���27.0 mm, humeral width: 7.0���11.0 mm (20 individuals); one specimen (Figs. 29���34, 35���45), body length: 18.6 mm, humeral width: 7.2 mm. Anteclypeus brown (Fig. 32). Mandibles sparsely covered with short white setae and short brown setae on outside of dorso-basal 3/5 and latero-basal 3/5, with several long brown hairs on latero-basal 3/5 (Fig. 32). Labrum sparsely covered with long brown hairs (mainly concentrated at sides), short white setae and short brown setae, with a row of extremely dense golden setae at apex (Fig. 32). Frons sparsely covered with long brown hairs at basal margin (Fig. 32), vertex with several brown long pubescence at posterior of upper lobe of eyes. Antennomeres covered with short grayish-brown hairs (hairs gradually dense from basal segments to apical segments, but densest at antennomeres 9 th��� 11 th), antennomere 11 th densely with short light grayish-brown hairs at apical 1/3; apical cicatrix of scape moderately covered with dense short yellowish brown hairs; scape, pedicle, venter of antennomere 3 rd sparsely covered with short brown setae; antennomeres 3 rd��� 10 th sparsely with slightly long thick light brown setae apically. Pronotum and sides of prothorax sparsely covered with short dark brown setae located in rounded punctuations, pronotum with several long dark brown pubescence near sides of the large callus and near base of lateral spines; prosternal process reddish brown apically. Black setal spots near elytral middle sub-rectangular and bordered with short light yellowish brown hairs. Abdomen sparsely covered with semi-erected brown and dark brown setae, abdominal 5 th segment covered with several long thick dark brown hairs at sides and yellowish brown hairs at sides of apical 1/3, densely with long and short yellowish brown hairs at apical margin. Apex (except venter) of femora and basal dorsum of tibiae densely covered with short golden yellow setae. Mandibles wide and thickened, nearly as long as frons, nearly smooth at dorso-apical 2/5, wrinkled on outsides of dorso-basal 3/5 and latero-basal 3/5, depressed on latero-basal 3/5. Labrum transversally raised in middle. Frons with a transverse furrow at base and a pair of oblique short furrows at basal sides. Antennae 1.98 times as long as body, relative length of each antennomere as follows: 2.8: 0.5: 3.0: 2.3: 2.1: 1.8: 1.8: 1.6: 1.4: 1.3: 2.0. Pronotum and sides of prothorax sparsely covered with rounded punctuations; both small calluses on pronotum sub-pyramidal, the large callus on pronotum anchor-shaped, wrinkled dorsally and notched apically, with a mesial longitudinal furrow. Elytra 1.58 times as long as wide at base. Hind wing with Cu vein not extending to margin, Pc vein reduced into basal and apical parts, basal part short, not connecting with Cu vein and without a cross vein connecting with 1A 3 +2A vein; 1A 1 and 1A 2 veins dissociative and weak apically, 1A 3 +2A vein weak apically, 3A vein weak at most of parts of basal 1/2, 1A 3 +2A and 3A veins fused at most of parts of apical 1/2. Abdominal 5 th segment sub-truncated apically. Fore femora wrinkled. Male terminalia. Dorsum of tergite VIII (Fig. 35) sparsely covered with long and short brown setae (most of setae located at sides and apical 1/5), sparsely with long dark brown setae at apex and sides of apical 1/5, with a piece of longitudinally glabrous section in center of basal 2/3; ventral of tergite VIII (Fig. 36) sparsely covered with short brown setae at apical 1/3 (mainly concentrated on the dark brown section), sparsely with long brown setae and several long dark brown setae at apex and apical 3/5 of sides; disc wider than long, rounded apically, sub-trapezoidal at apical 3/5, sides of basal 2/5 sub-paralleled. Venter of sternite VIII (Fig. 36) sparsely covered with long and short brown setae at apical 2/3 (setae mainly concentrated at apical 1/3); most of parts of disc membranous, sclerotic section slightly with an arc notch at apical middle; spiculum relictum nearly 1.3 times as long as sternite VIII, sub-paralleled at sides of basal 1/3, then gradually expanded to apex, gradually constricted towards apex in dorsal view. Spiculum gastrale (Figs. 37���39) nearly 2.5 times as long as tergite VIII, stem of spiculum gastrale curved at basal 1/4 and hook-like basally in profile (Fig. 38), branches of spiculum gastrale 0.28 time as long as stem. Tegmen (Figs. 40���42) longer than penis, dorsum of parameres nearly glabrous at basal 1/3, sparsely covered with short brown setae and long thick brown setae (setae mainly concentrated at apical 1/4, longest setae nearly 0.5 time as long as parameres) at apical 2/3; venter of parameres with short and fine sparse brown setae at basal 2/3 (setae mainly concentrated at base), with several long brown setae at apical 1/3, each lobe rounded apically and longitudinally depressed at outer half of ventro-basal 1/2 (Fig. 42); phallobase nearly 3.0 times as long as parameres, expanded at apical 2/5 and gradually constricted to base, then curved near basal 1/5 (Fig. 41), anterior tegminal strut sub-truncated apically (Figs. 40 & 42). Penis uniformly curved (Fig. 44), dorsal plate shorter than ventral plate and sub-triangular apically (Fig. 43), ventral plate widely rounded at apex (Fig. 45); dorsal struts 0.43 time as long as entire penis, apex of dorsal struts slightly expanded towards inner sides (Fig. 43), outer side of apical margin of dorsal struts folded towards dorsum (Fig. 44). Female. Similar to male, but body length: 16.0��� 27.5 mm, humeral width: 7.0���10.0 mm (18 individuals); one specimen (Figs. 46���49), body length: 26.0 mm, humeral width: 9.0 mm. Antennae 1.46 times as long as body, relative length of each antennomere as follows: 3.0: 0.5: 3.1: 2.1: 1.8: 1.5: 1.4: 1.2: 1.1: 1.1: 1.2. Elytra 1.35 times as long as wide at base. Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan); Vietnam (Tonkin, Vinh Phuc); Laos (Houaphan, Xiang Khuang). Remarks. Figures 29, 31, 46 and 48 show the elytra of this species separated from each other at apex, which was caused by the senior author dissecting the hind wings, the elytra are actually not separate from each other at apex in natural condition. Pu (1980) recorded this species distributed in China (Yunnan: Jinping), Laos and Vietnam, then Hua et al. (1993) recorded this species distributed in China [Guangdong (Fengkai), Hainan (Jiangfengling), Guangxi, Yunnan] and provided figures of male and female, Hua (2002) also recorded this species distributed in China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Jiangxi, Sichuan, Yunnan), Laos and Vietnam; but above authors did not provide any details of specimens examination. After examining the specimens from China (Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, Yunnan), we verified some above mentioned localities of this species, but other localities still need to be verified by examining additional specimens. Distribution. Vietnam (Tonkin). Remarks. The TITAN Database (Tavakilian & Chevillotte, 2019) shows the holotype of this species was deposited in Senckenberg Deutsches Entomologisches Institut, M��ncheberg, Germany (SDEI), when the senior author contacted Mandy Schr��ter (SDEI) for the photos of holotype, while Mandy Schr��ter told the senior author that the holotype was not deposited in SDEI, but in Museum f��r Naturkunde Berlin (MNHUB) based on original paper. Body length: 24.0 mm, humeral width: 10.0 mm (2 individuals); holotype (Figs. 5���10, 11���21), body length: 24.0 mm, humeral width: 10.0 mm. Anteclypeus brown (Fig. 8). Mandibles sparsely covered with short white setae and short brown setae on outside of dorso-basal 3/5 and latero-basal 3/5, with several long brown hairs on latero-basal 3/5 (Fig. 8). Labrum sparsely covered with long brown hairs (mainly concentrated at sides), short white setae and short brown setae, with a row of extremely dense golden setae at apex (Fig. 8). Frons sparsely covered with long brown hairs at basal margin (Fig. 8), vertex with several long dark brown pubescence at posterior of upper lobe of eyes. Antennomeres covered with short grayish-brown hairs (hairs gradually dense from basal segments to apical segments, but densest at antennomeres 9 th��� 11 th), antennomere 11 th densely with short light grayish-brown hairs at apical 1/3; scape, pedicle, inner sides of antennomere 3 rd sparsely with short dark brown setae; antennomeres 3 rd��� 10 th sparsely covered with slightly long and thick brown hairs apically. Pronotum and sides of prothorax sparsely covered with short dark brown setae located in rounded punctuations, pronotum with several long dark brown pubescence near sides of large callus and near base of lateral spines. Black setal spots near elytral middle mushroom-shaped (Fig. 5). Abdomen sparsely covered with semi-erected light brown and dark brown setae, abdominal 5 th segment sparsely with long and thick dark brown hairs at apical 1/3 (slightly dense at apical margin). Apex (except venter) of femora and basal dorsum of tibiae densely covered with short brown setae. Mandibles wide and thickened, nearly as long as frons, nearly smooth at dorso-apical 2/5, wrinkled on outsides of dorso-basal 3/5 and latero-basal 3/5, depressed on latero-basal 3/5. Pronotum and sides of prothorax sparsely covered with rounded punctuations; posterior of both small calluses closed to anterior of large callus on pronotum, both small calluses sub-rectangular with oblique depression on inner side of dorsum, large callus sub-rectangular, wrinkled and with a mesial longitudinal furrow dorsally, notched apically. Elytra 1.38 times as long as wide at base. Hind wing with Cu vein weak apically, Pc vein reduced into basal and apical parts, basal part short, not connecting with Cu vein and without a cross vein connecting with 1A 3 +2A; 1A 1 and 1A 2 veins dissociative and weak apically, 1A 3 +2A and 3A veins well developed (weak apically) and fused at most of parts of apical 1/2 (Fig. 10). Abdominal 5 th segment sub-truncated apically. Profemora, sides of mid femora and inner sides of hind femora wrinkled. Male terminalia. Dorsum of tergite VIII (Fig. 11) sparsely covered with long and short brown setae (most of setae located at sides and apex), sparsely with long thick dark brown setae at apex and near apical sides, with a piece of longitudinally glabrous section in center of basal 2/3; venter of tergite VIII (Fig. 12) sparsely covered with short brown setae at apical 1/3 (setae mainly concentrated on dark brown section), sparsely with slightly long brown setae at apical 3/4 of sides, sparsely with short dark brown setae at apex, sparsely with long dark brown setae at apex (setae mainly concentrated at apex) and apical 3/4 of sides; disc slightly wider than long, sub-trapezoidal and truncated apically. Venter of sternite VIII (Fig. 12) sparsely covered with long and short brown setae (setae mainly concentrated at apical 1/3), sparsely with long dark brown setae at sides; most of parts of disc membranous, with a piece of longitudinally glabrous section in center, sclerotic section with a triangular notch at apical center. Spiculum gastrale (Figs. 13���15) nearly 2.0 times as long as tergite VIII, stem of spiculum gastrale slightly curved at apical 1/4, strongly curved at basal 1/4, base drop-shaped in profile (Fig. 14), branches of spiculum gastrale less than 0.5 time as long as stem. Tegmen (Figs. 16���18) slightly longer than penis, dorsum of parameres nearly glabrous at basal 1/3, sparsely covered with short brown setae (setae mainly concentrated at apical 1/3) and long thick brown setae (setae mainly concentrated at apical 1/4, longest setae nearly 0.5 time as long as parameres) at apical 2/3 (Fig. 16); venter of parameres sparsely with short fine brown setae at basal 2/3 (setae mainly concentrated at base), sparsely with long thick brown setae on apical 1/3, each lobe rounded apically and longitudinally depressed at outer half of ventro-basal 1/2 (Fig. 18); phallobase nearly 2.6 times as long as parameres, expanded at apical 2/5 and gradually constricted to base, then curved near basal 1/5 (Fig. 17), both struts of anterior tegminal strut separated and only connected through membrane (Figs. 16 & 18). Penis abruptly curved at basal 2/5 (Fig. 20), dorsal plate shorter than ventral plate and rounded apically (Fig. 19), ventral plate wider than dorsal plate near apex (Fig. 20), sub-truncated apically (Fig. 21); dorsal struts about 0.5 time as long as entire penis and rounded apically, apex of dorsal struts slightly expanded towards inner sides (Fig. 19), outer side of apical margin of dorsal struts slightly folded towards dorsum (Fig. 20). Variation. The black setal spots near elytral middle securiform in male paratype. Female. Paratype (Figs. 22���28), similar to male, but body length: 23.5 mm, humeral width: 10.0 mm. The black setal spots near elytral middle converse ���V��� shaped (Figs. 22 & 25). Antennae 1.33 times as long as body, relative length of each antennomere as follows: 3.4: 0.6: 2.6: 2.0: 1.7: 1.4: 1.3: 1.2: 1.1: 1.1: 1.6. Elytra 1.46 times as long as wide at base. This new species can be distinctly distinguished from T. bimaculatus and T. tonkinensis by the black setal spots near elytral middle mushroom-shaped or securiform (drop-shaped in T. bimaculatus, sub-rectangular and bordered with short light yellowish brown setae in T. tonkinensis) in males and converse ���V��� shaped (sub-rectangular and bordered with short light yellowish brown hairs in T. tonkinensis) in females, apex (except venter) of femora and basal dorsum of tibiae densely covered with short brown hairs (with short golden yellow hairs in T. bimaculatus and T. tonkinensis), the three calluses on pronotum large (compare with pronotum, small in T. bimaculatus and T. tonkinensis); tergite VIII truncated apically (rounded apically in T. tonkinensis), stem of spiculum gastrale strongly curved at basal 1/4, drop-shaped basally in profile [stem of spiculum gastrale curved (not strongly) at basal 1/4 and hook-like basally in profile in T. tonkinensis], parameres long (compare with width, short in T. tonkinensis) and apical 1/2 narrow (compare with basal width, wide in T. tonkinensis), the interval between both parameres gradually expanded from base to apex (sub-paralleled in T. tonkinensis), both struts of the anterior tegminal strut separated (combined in T. tonkinensis) in males. Type species: Trachystola bimaculata Kriesche, 1924. Redescription. Body black, densely covered with short brown setae (dorsal setae denser than ventral setae); head, antennae, prothorax, scutellum, mesosternum, metasternum, elytra, abdominal sternites and legs sparsely covered with short white setae (the white short setae on antennae gradually sparser from 7 th to 11 th segments, most of white short setae on elytra mainly located on apical 1/3 and forming some small irregular spots); frons, genae and vertex sparsely covered with short dark brown setae located in rounded punctuations; elytra sparsely covered with short black setae (parts of black setae located at basal 1/2 of elytra respectively located in a small sub-oval punctuation, rest of black setae located at apical 1/3 forming some small irregular spots), with a pair of black setal spots near middle. Frons, genae and vertex strongly wrinkled and sparsely covered with rounded punctuations, eyes coarsely faceted; antennae longer than body, antennal scape strongly wrinkled, gradually thickened from base to apex and reaching to or beyond middle of pronotum, apical cicatrix of antennal scape opened; pedicle nearly as long as wide. Pronotum transverse and strongly wrinkled, with pointed lateral spines located slightly in front of middle, with three calluses (two small located in front of middle and one slightly large near basal middle); prosternal process narrow and with a longitudinal furrow in middle, distinctly lower than procoxae; procoxal cavity closed posteriorly. Scutellum lingulate. Elytra broader than prothorax basally, gradually constricted towards posterior and abruptly constricted near apical 1/3, rounded apically; disc with a pair of oblique depressions at basal 2/5; each elytron covered with large numbers of granules at basal 3/5, big granules mainly forming three longitudinal curved lines (first line starting from near posterior of humeri and extending along elytral margin to near anterior of black setal spot, second line raised at basal 1/5 of elytra, starting from near basal middle and extending to near anterior of black setal spot, third line from near posterior of scutellum and extending to near basal 1/4), rest of small granules located among above three lines; elytral sides covered with large numbers of big and small granules at basal 2/3, granules denser basally and gradually sparser towards posterior. Mesosternal process raised in center, midcoxal cavity open to epimeron externally. Fifth abdominal segment distinctly longer than 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th segments. Tarsi with 4 segments. Diagnosis. Trachystolodes is similar to Mimechthistatus Breuning, 1956 and Pseudotrachystola Breuning, 1943, but Trachystolodes can be distinguished from Mimechthistatus by the granules at basal 3/5 of elytron mainly forming three longitudinal and curved lines (the granules not forming three longitudinal and curved lines on elytron in Mimechthistatus, figs. 53���54), elytra not separated at apex (elytra distinctly separated at apex in Mimechthistatus, figs. 52���54, 56, 58); hind wing not vestigial [hind wing vestigial in Mimechthistatus (Chou, 2008)]. The differences between Trachystolodes and Pseudotrachystola refer to Xiang et al. (2016). Range.
