The study investigates sea-level measurements along the coastal area of Europe for the 60-year (1961–2020) time span. Linear and quadratic modeling of tide gauge measurements showed an almost positive rate of trend of sea-level rise (0.09 to 3.6 mm/yr) and low acceleration (−0.05 to 0.40 mm/yr2). A least-squares harmonic estimation tidal modeling was carried out to estimate frequency (cycles per day) for a certain period. The smaller and higher tidal frequencies of these stations indicate their stability in terms of their surface variation. We used the 1993–2020 satellite altimetry data from the nearest grid points of the tide gauge station. The correlation coefficient between observed and satellite altimetry (lowest 0.53 and highest 0.93) varies at each station. This happens because of many factors that can affect the large difference in the sea-level trend between the satellite-derived and tide gauge results. Finally, to implement a global reference system for physical heights, the offshore topographic slope direction and slope range with contour spacing from the sea to the associated coastline were analyzed using bathymetry data. The abrupt change in slope from the coastline toward the sea can be seen toward the east, west, and southeast on the European coast. This is also an important factor that affects the variation of sea level.

Active tectonics in an area includes ongoing or recent geologic events. This paper investigates the tectonic influence on the subsidence, uplift and tilt of western Saurashtra through morphotectonic analysis of ten watersheds along with characteristics of relief and drainage orientation. Watersheds 7–9 to the north (N) are tectonically active, which can be linked with the North Kathiawar Fault System (NKFS) and followed by watersheds 6, 10, 1, 4 and 5. Stream-length gradient index and sinuosity index indicate the effect of tectonic events along the master streams in watersheds 6–9. Higher R2 values of the linear curve fit for watershed 7 indicate its master stream is much more tectonically active than the others. The R2 curve fitting model and earthquake magnitude/depth analysis confirm the region to be active. The reactivation of the NKFS most likely led to the vertical movement of western Saurashtra.

The Indian western coast is petroliferous and draws attention from academicians and industrial experts. In this work, geomorphic indices have been calculated to decode neotectonics of the Konkan onshore region on India's west coast. Earthquake and Bouguer anomaly data have been used along with the present-day stress data from the World Stress Map project. Gravity modeling was performed in order to gain seismotectonic insights. The b-values were determined using Z-MAP 7.1 (2021). Morphometric analysis at both linear and spatial scales were performed using the digital elevation model from the data derived from the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission, analyzed with ArcGIS 10.3 (2014) software. Maps depicting slopes, aspects, and reliefs were created. NW-SE trending lineaments in the Konkan plain guided the major stream courses. Two of the five watersheds, watersheds 4 and 5, reveal high tectonic activity, are landslide-prone and host hot springs. Interestingly, watersheds 4 and 5 show high b-values (except near the rivers' sources), low Bouguer anomalies, and higher Hypsometric integral values (0.18523 and 0.16698) than the other watersheds. A low b-value in watershed 3 indicates stress accumulation. Over a larger area, the gravity trend varies from ∼ −80 to 30 mGal. The lineaments diagram deduced from the first vertical derivative technique shows that the structural fabrics mostly trend ∼ NW-SE at the west of the Western Ghat Escarpment (WGE) while it is NE-SW at the east. The tilt derivative ratio technique reveals a major NE-SW trend to the west of the WGE and an E-W trend to the east. Structural interpretations based on drill-cores around Koyna combined with geophysical studies for deep crust will be required are required for a better understanding of the blind (active) structures in the region.

Low lymphocyte count is associated with limited overall survival. In a prospective cohort of lymphopenic patients with HER-2 negative MBC, we assessed the clinical and biological impact of pembrolizumab combined with metronomic cyclophosphamide.Experimental Design: This multicenter Phase II study evaluated the safety and clinical activity of pembrolizumab (intravenous (IV), 200mg, every 3 weeks) combined with metronomic cyclophosphamide (50mg/day, per os) in lymphopenic adult patients with HER2-negative MBC previously treated by at least one line of chemotherapy in this setting according to a Simon’s minimax two-stage design. Blood and tumor samples were collected to assess the impact of the combined treatment on circulating immune cells and the tumor immune microenvironment through multiparametric flow cytometry and multiplex immunofluorescence analyses. Primary endpoint was the clinical benefit rate at 6 months of treatment (CBR-6M). Secondary endpoints were objective response rate (ORR), duration of response, progression free survival (PFS), and overall survival (OS).Results: Two out of the twenty treated patients presented clinical benefit (one Tumor Mutational Burden (TMB)-high patient with complete response (CR) and one patient with objective response (OR) per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1 (RECIST V1.1) associated with a strong increase of cytokine-producing and proliferating CD4+ T cells and higher CD8+ T cells to macrophage ratios in the tumor. This impact on CD4+ and CD8+ T cell polyfunctionality was still observed more than one year for the patient with CR. A decreased in their absolute number of CD4+ and CD8+ memory T cells was observed in other patients. Conclusion: Pembrolizumab combined with metronomic cyclophosphamide was well tolerated, and displayed limited anti-tumoral activity in lymphopenic MBC. Correlative translational data of our trial advocates for additional studies with other chemotherapy combinations. Keywords: metastatic breast cancer, lymphopenia, immunotherapy, chemotherapy, immunomonitoring

The Kutch Rift Basin (KRB) is of great attention for its possible hydrocarbon reserve. In this context, geomorphologic and structural geologic studies of the onland basin area are crucial. Application of geomorphic indicators viz., compactness coefficient (Cc), lemniscate coefficient (k), form ratio (Rf), basin shape index (Bs), basin asymmetry factor (AF), hypsometric integral (HI), elongation ratio (Re) and circularity ratio (Rc) have been utilized to calculate the Index of Active Tectonics (IAT) for a part of KRB. Watersheds 5 (the Bhuj area), 9, 10, 11, 17, 18 and 20 belong to class 1 as per the IAT. This indicates that these watersheds are very highly tectonically active at present. Calculated valley floor width height ratio (Vf) and mountain front sinuosity (Smf) quantify the active valley incision in the Quaternary that uplifted the Bhuj area. This uplift was accompanied by a high-degree of drainage rejuvenation due to neotectonics and formation of a canyon in the Khari river. Paleostress analyses revealed NNE and NW-oriented extensions around Bhuj that can correspond to NW and NNE-trending normal fault planes, respectively.

Student Worksheets a media in the form of sheets containing tasks and activities that students must carry out, which are useful in supporting the learning process, one of which is in the material on the Structure and Function of Plant Tissues so that students can be active in the learning process. An assessment instrument is needed for the Student Worksheets. For this reason, this study aimed to measure the instrument's validity and reliability for using Student Worksheets as a learning media. This study used Research and Development (RND) methodology with an instrument in the form of a Student Worksheets measurement questionnaire consisting of three constructs: product design, material feasibility, and language feasibility. This research was carried out by involving seven teachers from several schools. Data were obtained by distributing the questionnaire via a Google form from September to October 2022 by obtaining prior consent from the respondents. The data obtained were quantitative, then analyzed using SPSS version 29 in the form of Alpha Cronbach analysis. The results of the test show that the validity of the instrument data meets the valid and reliable criteria with each Cronbach Alpha value per construct, namely Product Design (0.795), Material Feasibility (0.712), and Language Feasibility (0.712). Therefore, this study shows that the developed instrument meets the use requirements in developing Student Worksheets media students. Thus, stakeholders and teachers can use this instrument to develop media, particularly Student Worksheets, whereas further researchers can use this instrument to measure media before the study.

Research instruments are an important factor in a study in which the truth of researched results lies that determines the conclusion. Instruments are used to collect data and measure a research variable's object. This study aimed to retest a valid, consistent, and reliable instrument related to multiple intelligences previously developed by McClellan Conti. In this study, Multiple intelligences adapted from American psychologist, Howard Gardner, consisted of nine constructs, namely: (1) physical/kinesthetic, (2) existential/spiritual, (3) interpersonal, (4) intrapersonal, (5) logical thinking, (6) musical/rhythmic, (7) naturalistic, (8) verbal, and (9) visual. Designed as a survey study, it involved 140 respondents from primary education tutors of Universitas Terbuka at Pekanbaru selected using simple random sampling techniques. The data was analyzed using SPSS version 23.00 for Windows. The results showed that all questionnaire items were valid and reliable with a high average Cronbach Alpha reliability value (0.763 0.6), and every statement item has a high value (0.786 – 0.887) with a total construct value of 0.859. This study provides an alternative assessment related to multiple intelligence. Knowing each tutor's multiple intelligences will make the tutor focus more on the superiority of his intelligence. This will have good consequences for the development of the student learning process.

Andean lupin (Lupinus mutabilis) oil is rich in monounsaturated (54.2%) and polyunsaturated (28.5%) fatty acids but has a ω-3:ω-6 ratio (1:9.2) above the recommended values for human health. Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis) oil presents a high polyunsaturated fatty acid content (linolenic 47.2% and linoleic 34.7%), along a ω-3:ω-6 ratio (1:0.74) good for human consumption. The objective of this research was to study the physico-chemical properties and oxidative stability of tarwi and sacha inchi oil blends (1:4, 1:3, 1:1, 3:1 and 4:1 w:w) with suitable ω-3:ω-6 ratios. All blends showed ω-3:ω-6 ratios between 1:0.8 and 1:1.9, acceptable from a nutritional point of view, and high total tocopherols’ content (1834–688 mg/kg), thanks to sacha inchi. The oxidative stability index (OSI) of the mixtures by the Rancimat method at 120 °C ranged from 0.46 to 8.80 h. The shelf-life of 1:1 tarwi/sacha inchi oil blend was 1.26 years; its entropy (−17.43 J/mol), enthalpy (107.04 kJ/mol), activation energy (110.24 kJ/mol) and Gibbs energy (113.76 kJ/mol) suggest low oxidation reaction rates and good stability. Hence, balanced blends of tarwi/sacha inchi oils can achieve optimal nutritional properties and enhanced shelf-life.

Background: Young maternal age is associated with negative outcomes at birth and with offspring's growth. In low- and middle-income countries, adolescents' offspring growth little has been studied. Objective: To determine the association of maternal sociodemographic characteristics with weight, length, and BMI change in adolescents' offspring in their first year of life. Methods: This is a one-year follow-up study that included adolescent mothers and their offspring from 2010 to 2017. The infant anthropometric variables were performed at birth, 3, 6, and 12 months. Maternal health, pregnancy, and social variables were evaluated as well as birth outcomes. Crude, percentage, Z score, and percentile changes of weight, length, and BMI were evaluated from birth to 1-year-old. Statistical analyses were adjusted by maternal chronological age, socioeconomic status, breastfeeding duration, the timing of introduction of complementary feeding, among other variables. Results: We examined 186 dyads (mother-infant). The median maternal age was 15.5 years, and the mean pre-pregnancy BMI was 20. The mean gestational age was 39.1 weeks for infants, birth weight was 3,039 g, and length at birth was 49.5-cm. Maternal chronological age, the timing of introduction of complementary feeding, socioeconomic status, and maternal occupation were associated with offspring's weight gain at 12 months. Length gain was associated with exclusive breastfeeding. Socioeconomic status and occupation were associated with offspring's BMI change. When performing adjusted multivariable analyses, weight and length at birth were associated weight and BMI at 12 months. Conclusions: Weight at birth may negatively predict infant's weight and BMI changes at 12 months, while length at birth may positively predict the changes. Maternal chronological age, socioeconomic level, occupation, and the timing of the introduction of complementary feeding were associated with the weight change. Only exclusive breastfeeding was associated with length Z-score change in adolescents' offspring in their first 12-months of life.

Financial inclusion is a condition of products or services from formal financial institutions that can be accessed and relished by various groups of society. Inclusive financial conditions can propel economic growths of the poor through formal financial institutions by forming business groups in each village. This article aims to address how the implementation of financial inclusion programs as a form of concrete efforts in the context of alleviating poverty in Rejang Lebong Regency. Moreover, this study uses a qualitative analysis method with a non-parametric qualitative approach. It shows that the presence of a financial inclusion programs in Rejang Lebong Regency can reduce the poverty level. This poverty alleviation effort is carried out through the pattern of providing venture capital to each Joint Business Group (KUBE) by raising regional superior products as its business, so as it can improve the economy of the local community. The distribution of venture capital assistance is also provided to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (UMKM) and religious organizations by maximizing the role and function of the Zakat Collecting Unit (UPZ) in each mosque for productive activities. Therefore, it is necessary to facilitate the granting of permits for the establishment of microfinance institutions such as Islamic cooperatives and savings and loan cooperatives as well as the synergy between the government, Islamic scholars, and the community in order to alleviate poverty through financial inclusion programs.

The investigation of river bed evolution is a principal part of fluvial morphology as it clarifies the procedure of bed deformation and morphological changes on alluvial river bed. Truth be told, the advancement of such bed landscape is additionally accompanied with the regular calamity like flood as it is anticipated due to immense precipitation in Himalayan foot slopes. The flood coverage area is expanding persistently while rainfall homogeneity is acceptable aside from extremely least number of years with sudden precipitation in most recent 101 years. The height of Jayanti riverbed had changed massively in most recent 101 years influencing the idea of channel planform accompanied by huge sediment aggradations and morphological changes which increases the expansion of flood water extension likelihood over bank. It has been discovered through the Fuzzy logic and PCA examination that precipitation does not assume a key job for flood water development yet dynamism of explicit river bed topography prompts bed rise that guarantees the flood propagation of the area unexpectedly.

- Abstract
Introduction: There is very few data about the management of elderly patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). The aim of this study was to analyze the management of patients aged 80 and over treated with docetaxel for a mCRPC., Methods and Materials: Clinical and pathological characteristics of octogerians treated with docetaxel were collected retrospectively from 3 French centers from 2009 to 2019. Patient's outcome, treatments administered before and/or after docetaxel were also analyzed., Results: Data of 89 patients could be analyzed. A total of 20.2 % of patients received the standard regimen and 79.8 % received an adapted one. Patients in the adapted group were significantly older than in standard one. Other patient's characteristics - including the geriatric scales - were similar. Dose reductions for toxicity were more frequent in the standard group (P=0.04). The median overall survival of the total population was 13.3 months. It was longer in the standard group than in the adapted group (26.1 months vs 12.4 months=0.01). In multivariate analysis, the type of docetaxel regimen (standard versus adapted) was an independent predictor of survival., Conclusion: This study suggests the benefit of the standard management even in oldest patients. A geriatric evaluation should certainly be processed in patients with poor oncogeriatric scale in order to select the sub-population able to receive the full dose standard docetaxel regimen., (Copyright © 2019 Société Française du Cancer. - Abstract
Chordomas are rare malignant tumours, which typically occur in the axial skeleton and skull base. They arise from embryonic remnants of the notochord. They constitute less than 5 % of primary bone tumours. They are characterised by their locally aggressive potential with high frequency of recurrences and a median overall survival of 6 years. The initial therapeutic strategy must be discussed in an expert centre and may involve surgery, preoperative radiotherapy, exclusive radiotherapy or therapeutic abstention. Despite this, more than 50 % of patients will be facing recurrences with few therapeutic options available at this advanced stage. This review aims to outline current treatment options available in chordomas, as well as discussing potentiality of new therapeutic approaches through their molecular characterization and the comprehension of their immunological environment., (Copyright © 2019 Société Française du Cancer. - Abstract
Human oncogenic papillomaviruses (HPV) have an increasingly prominent role in the genesis of many cancers. The oncogenic mechanisms associated with HPV are now better known and make it possible to explain the etiopathogenesis of the association. HPV status is now sought for certain cancers and conditions both prognosis and management of patients. Preventive antiviral vaccination has become a real public health issue and aims to effectively reduce the prevalence of cervical, anal and oropharynx cancer, HPV-associated. However, vaccination against HPV still lags behind. The purpose of this review is to redefine the involvement of HPV in several cancers as well as current therapeutic challenges of HPV-related cancers, notably in term of prevention., (Copyright © 2019 Elsevier Masson SAS. Complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs) play more and more a significant role both in France and all over the world. Yet, their definition and their role in cancer treatments legitimately raise concerns. This article aims at establishing a picture of the CAMs admitted by the French Medical Board as well as those which are new or in common medical practices in France. We start with a brief reminder of their origin, their status and how they are used. Then, we review the literature about some of the best clinical trials using CAMs in cancer patients. To finish, we try to understand what makes CAMs so thrilling, but also why they create controversy and which common points they may have with conventional medicine., (Copyright © 2019 Société Française du Cancer. - Abstract
Endocrine treatment represents the cornerstone of endocrine-sensitive pre-menopausal early breast cancer. The estrogen blockade plays a leading role in the therapeutic management with surgery, radiotherapy and selective antiestrogen treatment. For several years, selective estrogen receptor modulators, such as tamoxifen, have revolutionized medical care of hormone receptors-positive breast cancer and have conquered the therapeutic arsenal while becoming the gold standard of treatment. Other combinations associating the ovarian function suppression using LHRH agonists with tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors have been recently investigated, leading to mitigated opinions regarding the clinical benefit of these associations. We propose here a comprehensive overview on existing data and their actualization concerning LHRH analogues, whilst emphasizing benefit-risk balance for this targeted population., (Copyright © 2019 Société Française du Cancer. - Abstract
Head and neck cancer stem cells (CSCs) are highly resistant to treatment. When EGFR is overexpressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC), HER2 and HER3 are also expressed. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of HER1/2/3 blockade through a combination of cetuximab and pertuzumab, with or without photon irradiation, on the proliferation and migration/invasion capabilities of an HNSCC chemo- and radioresistant human cell line (SQ20B) and its corresponding stem cell subpopulation. Cell proliferation, migration and invasion were studied after treatment with cetuximab +/- pertuzumab +/- 10 Gy photon irradiation. EGFR, phospho-EGFR, HER2 and HER3 protein expression levels were studied. Activation or inhibition of the RAS/MAPK and AKT-mTOR downstream signalling cascades was investigated through phospho-AKT and phospho-MEK1/2 expression. Cetuximab strongly inhibited SQ20B and FaDu cell proliferation, migration and invasion, whereas it had little effect on SQ20B-CSCs. Cetuximab-pertuzumab combined with radiation significantly inhibited SQ20B and FaDu cell and SQ20B-CSC proliferation, migration and invasion. Cetuximab-pertuzumab with 10 Gy photon irradiation switched off both phospho-AKT and phospho-MEK1/2 expression in the three populations. The triple therapy is therefore thought to inhibit SQ20B cells, SQ20B-CSCs and FaDu cells through an AKT-mTOR and Ras-MAPK downstream signalling blockade.

- Abstract
The present review gives an overview of systematic reviews published in peer reviewed Journals analysing quality of reporting in oncology studies. PUBMED and Cochrane library were searched to identify systematic reviews assessing quality of reporting for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies (OBS). Recommendations and primary endpoints used to assess the quality of reporting were described. Intrinsic quality of reporting was analyzed using an Overall Quality Score for literature Reviews (OQSR). Main evaluation themes were overall quality of reporting (20/58) and reporting of Health-Related Quality Of Life (HRQOL) in RCTs (7/58). Reporting recommendations used were not detailed in 56.9% of reviews. Insufficient reporting for the methodological description (randomization, blinding details, and allocation concealment) and the rationale for using specific measure of HRQOL were highlighted. OQSR was significantly higher for reviews published between 2010 and 2014 (after the PRISMA Publication), as compared to those published between 1996-2009 (median OQSR 10 (10-11) versus median OQSR 9 (6-10) respectively, p=0.0053). Intrinsic quality of reporting is satisfactory and has been improved in the last years., (Copyright © 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.)

- Abstract
Cell death plays a crucial role for a myriad of physiological processes, and several human diseases such as cancer are characterized by its deregulation. There are many methods available for both quantifying and qualifying the accurate process of cell death which occurs. Choosing the right assay tool is essential to generate meaningful data, provide sufficient information for clinical applications, and understand cell death processes. In vitro cell death assays are important steps in the search for new therapies against cancer as the ultimate goal remains the elaboration of drugs that interfere with specific cell death mechanisms. However, choosing a cell viability or cytotoxicity assay among the many available options is a daunting task. Indeed, cell death can be approached by several viewpoints and require a more holistic approach. This review provides an overview of cell death assays usually used in vitro for assessing cell death so as to elaborate new potential chemotherapeutics and discusses considerations for using each assay., Competing Interests: DECLARATION OF CONFLICTING INTERESTS: The author(s) declared no potential conflicts of interest with respect to the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article. - Abstract
Head and neck cancer remains a significant public health concern. About 60% of patients die within 5years due to local recurrence. Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) cell lines are important preclinical models in the search for new therapies against this disease. Furthermore, there is a need to test novel drugs before introduction into clinical practice. A preclinical model that closely resembles the in vivo situation would be highly valuable. In the last few decades, a multicellular spheroid model has gained attention as its behavior was comparable to in vivo tumors. Basic research is necessary to achieve an understanding of the normal and pathological state but cannot, in itself, provide sufficient information for clinical applications. Indeed, animal models are an inevitable prelude to assess the efficacy of new therapeutic approaches in HNSCC. The present review proposes an overview of HNSCC pre-clinical models in order to further understand the oncogenic properties for HNSCC and translate these findings into clinic for patients., (Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Ltd.
