Designing a graph processing system that can scale to graph sizes that are orders of magnitude larger than what is possible on a single accelerator requires a careful codesign of accelerator memory bandwidth and capacity, the interconnect bandwidth between accelerators, and the overall system architecture. We present a high-level bottleneck-analysis model for design and evaluation of scalable and balanced accelerators for graph processing. We show several applications of this model including how to choose the right mix of different memory types, network topology, network bisection bandwidth, and system-level architecture to match the access patterns and capacity requirements of different data structures for a given graph and a performance target.

This article analyses how the financial literacy of elderly people affects their decisions on the adoption of various financial strategies. Multiple mediator models with bootstrap techniques are used to identify the mediating mechanisms of financial concerns that transmit the effects of financial literacy onto specific financial strategies. We find (1) financial concerns mediate the majority of financial literacy-strategy nexuses; specifically, financially illiterate people are more likely to have financial concerns and are more likely to cut back on spending, seek job opportunities, increase debts and downsize or sell their residence as a result; (2) financially literate people are more likely to seek professional financial advice, purchase a life annuity, contribute more to superannuation and invest more conservatively, regardless of their concerns. Our findings suggest professional advisors and robo-advisor developers take into account financial concerns when recommending advice. Consumption behaviour and financial literacy are primary factors in determining the financial well‐being of retirees. This paper uses an existing financial literacy index to examine how financial literacy directly, and via an interaction with consumption patterns, affects elderly Australians' financial well‐being. We find that most elderly Australians hold an optimistic attitude towards their financial situation, and those who are relatively older, more educated, healthier and outright homeowners are more likely to report higher levels of financial well‐being. Financial literacy significantly improves financial well‐being. It also helps strengthen the positive effects of meeting more of non‐essential consumption needs on financial well‐being. Financial illiteracy is widespread amongst the elderly. Financially illiterate people are more likely to experience asset loss and outlive their savings after retirement. This paper measures financial literacy of elderly Australians using Item Responses Theory. Using a Lasso regression, we find that younger, married males with higher income and greater net wealth are more likely to be financially literate. Better financial literacy is also associated with good health, higher educational attainment, better occupation and outright home ownership.
