To produce plants without soil, automated rooftop hydroponics systems use IoT technology. Plants are instead cultivated in a closed-loop system using a water-based fertilizer solution. This configuration allows for exact control of environmental variables such as temperature, humidity, and nutrient content, resulting in ideal growth conditions. IoT technology uses sensors, microcontrollers, and actuators to monitor and govern the system in real time. This approach has several advantages over traditional farming, including increased urban space efficiency, lower water and nutrient consumption, and less reliance on pesticides. To handle varied crops and situations, such a system requires rigorous planning, design, and scalability. Overall, automated rooftop hydroponics systems using IoT technology offer a potential and long-term solution for urban agriculture, generating food while minimizing environmental effect.
