Using the Internationalization of the Curriculum (IoC) model, this study analyses postgraduate educational programmes that contribute to internationalization in higher education at British and Sino-British transnational universities. The purpose is to explore postcolonial curricular design influences and opportunities. The study identified patterns based on content analysis of twelve programmes' goals, approaches, and course listings. The findings reflected noteworthy similarities with limited emphasis on the emerging paradigmatic shift of IoC. The study invited one programme director from each type of university to speak about the design intentions from an insider's perspective. The discovery was that both types of universities were driven, in part, by a response to global market trends rather than an ideological postcolonial design imperative. Semi-structured interviews of postgraduate Chinese students in the Sino-British university's programme were conducted to understand students' perceptions of learning and former pedagogical experiences. Students appreciated opportunities to explore indigenous knowledge and experiences to make the curriculum relevant and meaningful. They expressed a clear need to conduct independent discoveries without necessarily following the patterns established by Western scholars. The paper offers suggestions for constructing postcolonial learning environments. Implications for educational practices are discussed.

During the COVID‐19 pandemic, behaviours that violated various precautionary policies were recurring. The present research examined how Chinese participants' perception of targets in terms of immorality and dehumanization depends on the target's knowledge of their COVID‐19 infection. In Study 1 (N = 223), we manipulated the presentation of the target's knowledge of their COVID‐19 infection before violating policies and observed that a target who knew they were infected was perceived as more immoral and less human than a target who knew they were not infected. In Study 2 (N = 267), we replicated this effect and further observed that a target was perceived as less moral and human even when they did not acquire knowledge of their COVID‐19 infection until after having violated the policies. Moreover, perceived immorality played a mediating role between the target's knowledge of their COVID‐19 infection and dehumanization, which was moderated by risk perception of COVID‐19 in Study 2, but not by fear of COVID‐19 in Study 1. Endometrium fibrosis is the leading cause of uterine infertility. Macrophages participated in the occurrence and development of endometrial fibrosis. We previously reported that human umbilical cord multipotent stromal cells (hUC-MSCs) exerted their therapeutic effect in a macrophage-dependent manner in endometrial fibrosis. However precise mechanisms by which hUC-MSCs may influence macrophages in endometrial fibrosis remain largely unexplored. Here, we demonstrated that abnormal iron and lipid metabolism occurred in patients with intrauterine adhesions (IUA) and murine models. Ferroptosis has been proven to contribute to the progression of fibrotic diseases. Our results revealed that pharmacological activation of ferroptosis by Erastin aggravated endometrial fibrosis, while inhibition of ferroptosis by Ferrostatin-1 ameliorated endometrial fibrosis in vivo. Moreover, ferroptosis of macrophages was significantly upregulated in endometria of IUA murine models. Of note, transcriptome profiles revealed that CD36 gene expression was significantly increased in patients with IUA and immunofluorescence analysis showed CD36 protein was mainly located in macrophages. Silencing CD36 in macrophages could reverse cell ferroptosis. Dual luciferase reporter assay revealed that CD36 was the direct target of activation transcription factor 3 (ATF3). Furthermore, through establishing coculture system and IUA murine models, we found that hUC-MSCs had a protective role against macrophage ferroptosis and alleviated endometrial fibrosis related to decreased CD36 and ATF3. The effect of hUC-MSCs on macrophage ferroptosis was attributed to the upregulation of amphiregulin (AREG). Our data highlighted that macrophage ferroptosis occurred in endometrial fibrosis via the ATF3-CD36 pathway and hUC-MSCs protected against macrophage ferroptosis to alleviate endometrial fibrosis via secreting AREG. This paper develops a game model of a closed-loop supply chain consisting of one manufacturer, one remanufacturer and one retailer and investigates the long-term collection strategies of the manufacturer who needs to cooperate with the remanufacturer to develop the remanufacturing technology. The game model is developed from a fully dynamic perspective on the remanufacturing technology development and analyzed using the system dynamics method. We identify the trade-off in the choice of collection strategies: the early entry in the remanufacturing industry versus the complete control in the later stage. The simulation results show that when the entry barrier to the remanufacturing industry is low, the manufacturer can develop the remanufacturing technology in a short time and the direct reverse channel outperforms the indirect reverse channel; when the entry barrier is high, the manufacturer can achieve more profits under the indirect reverse channel by acquiring the remanufacturing technology directly from the remanufacturer. Moreover, the indirect reverse channel is more likely to be superior for low-barrier remanufacturing industry when the cost advantage is high as the early entry in the remanufacturing industry becomes more important than the complete control in the later stage. Automatic depression diagnosis is a challenging problem, that requires integrating spatial-temporal information and extracting features from audio-visual signals. In terms of privacy protection, the development trend of recognition algorithms based on facial landmarks has created additional challenges and difficulties. In this article, we propose an audio-visual attention network (AVA-DepressNet) for depression recognition. It is a novel multimodal framework with facial privacy protection, and uses attention-based modules to enhance audio-visual spatial and temporal features. In addition, an adversarial multistage (AMS) training strategy is developed to optimize the encoder-decoder structure. Additionally, facial structure prior knowledge is creatively used in AMS training. Our AVA-DepressNet is evaluated on popular audio-visual depression datasets: AVEC 2013, AVEC 2014, and AVEC 2017. High throughput, efficient, and readily adoptable analytical tools for the validation and selection of reliable antibody reagents would impact the life sciences, clinical chemistry, and clinical medicine. To directly quantify antibody-antigen association and dissociation rate constants, kon and koff, in a single experiment, we introduce a microfluidic free-standing kinetic polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (fsKPAGE) assay. Here, an antibody is immobilized in zones along the length of a single freestanding polyacrylamide gel lane of varying cross-sectional width. Fluorescently labeled antigen is electrophoresed through each immobilized antibody zone, with local cross-sectional area determining the local electric field strength and, thus, the local interaction time between immobilized antibody and electromigrating antigen. Upon crossing, the interaction yields immobilized immunocomplex. The kon is quantified by assessing the amount of immunocomplex formed at each interaction time. To quantify koff, immobilized zones of fluorescently labeled immunocomplex are subjected to a buffer dilution and monitored over time. We determine kon and koff for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and make a comparison to gold-standard values. The fsKPAGE assay determines kon and koff in a single experiment of less than 20 min, using 45 ng of often limited antibody material and standard laboratory equipment. We see the fsKPAGE assay as forming the basis for rapid, quantitative antibody-screening tools.
