- Abstract
Even though ischemic stroke represents a majority of strokes in general, only a smaller portion origi- nate from posterior circulation. Because of different origin and particular territory involvement, this represents a difficult clinical task. We compared relevant clinical data from literature with results of our patients affected by the posterior circulation stroke (PCS). We analyzed stroke patients admitted from 2018. to 2022. in General Hospital Pula, a touristic oriented county hospital in Croatia on the Adriatic Coast. In that five-year period we admitted 1795 patients with ischemic stroke. 246 or 13,6% of those originated from the posterior circulation, which is significantly less than data from similar reports. Majority of those patients were male, 64%. Comparing the outcome, we found that the PCS had significantly better outcome. Mortality rate was similar in both,14% for PCS versus 16% in the anterior circulation strokes (ACS). We analyzed the outcome by infarct region or etiology, as well as clinical particularities related to the territory of PCS involvement. We also selected patients having PCS as a result of dissection. According to our results the patients with PCS had better outcome in comparison to ACS. The most frequent site of stroke was cerebellar, followed by pontine stroke. The highest mortality was observed in patients with multiple posterior circulation strokes. Initial NIHSS score was lower in posterior circulation strokes then in anterior circulation strokes, with an important impact on reperfusion therapy rates. Therefore, it is crucial to perform comprehensive clinical evalua- tion of patients with posterior circulation ischemic strokes. Key words: Posterior circulation stroke, Anterior circulation stroke, National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Risk factors, Modified Rankin Score (mRS)

TGMD-2 ,locomotor skills ,motor proficiency ,early school age ,BOT-2 ,preschool age ,ambidexterity - Abstract
Korišteni su testovi za procjenu grube i fine motorike: „Test of Gross Motor Development-2“ (TGMD-2) i dio testa „Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2“ (BOT-2). Budući da je razvoj grubih motoričkih znanja u dobi od 7 godina uglavnom dostigao svoju zrelu fazu razvoja, dok se razvoj fine motorike još uvijek intenzivno razvija, daljnja istraživanja na ovu temu trebala bi ciljati na odgovaranje pitanja zavisnosti ove dvije manifestacije znanja u sljedećim godinama rasta i razvoja., The main aim of this research was to determine the possible connection between fine and gross motor skills in girls gymnasts of preschool and early school age. The research was conducted on a sample of 30 gymnasts with an average age of 7 years from two clubs in Split. Tests that were used to assess gross and fine motor skills: "Test of Gross Motor Development-2" (TGMD-2) and part of the test "Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2" (BOT-2). The results showed that there is a significant correlation between different gross and fine motor skills in girls gymnasts of preschool and early school age, as well as a statistically significant impact of fine motor skills on the level of locomotor and object manipulation skills. The skill of ambidexterity has a partially significant influence on the manipulation skills. Since the development of gross motor skills at the age of 7 has mostly reached its mature stage of development, while the development of fine motor skills is still intensively developing, further research on this topic should aim to answer the question of the dependence of these two manifestations of skills during growth and development.

Research Article - Abstract
Dental caries is the most common oral disease affecting all age groups and a major cause of tooth loss. Although a decrease in the prevalence of dental caries has been marked across the globe, in many countries it has remained a major oral-health problem. The objective of this paper was to show the trends in the DMFT/dmft index in Croatia, compare it with European countries and present further courses of action oriented towards promotion of oral health and decrease in caries prevalence. The DMFT index databases have been generated based on online database searches for the period from 1985 to 2015.Croatia is one of European countries with a high DMFT index relating to 12-year old children (4.18). The experience of countries with a low DMFT index has shown that dental caries can be controlled through education and prevention activities, which eventually lead to diminished financial costs, at individual and national level, improving overall health and quality of life.Tracking and monitoring of oral health i.e. dental caries need to be improved in terms of creation of data base systems on the prevalence of dental caries, determining multi-factorial causes of its occurrence and with respect to the implementation of national oral-health prevention programs.

zubni karijes, KEP indeks, Hrvatska, Europa - Abstract
Zaključak: Praćenje i nadzor oralnoga zdravlja, odnosno dentalnog karijesa, zahtijeva u sustavu bolje prikupljanje podataka o njegovoj prevalenciji, utvrđivanje multifaktorijalnih uzroka u njegovu nastanku te provedbu nacionalnih preventivnih programa.
