Introduction: Breast cancer is a common and deadly malignancy affecting women worldwide. Various immune markers, such as Estrogen Receptor (ER), Progesterone Receptor (PR), and Human Epidermal growth factor Receptor 2 (HER2/neu), are commonly used to assess prognosis. Currently, ongoing research aims to evaluate molecular pathways that contribute to invasion and metastasis. One important immunomarker under investigation is CD10, a zinc-dependent Matrix Metalloproteinase (MMP) that degrades bioactive peptides. CD10 expression in the tumour stroma has been associated with the biological aggressiveness of several epithelial malignancies, including breast carcinoma. Aim: To analyse the association between stromal CD10 expression and different prognostic factors, such as age, histological grade, and status of ER, PR, and HER2/neu markers, in patients with breast cancer. Materials and Methods: This institutional-based, cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Pathology, Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital (NRSMC) in Kolkata, West Bengal, India over a period of one and a half years (February 2021 to July 2022). It included 120 cases of breast carcinoma diagnosed through histopathological examination of formalin fixed paraffin embedded sections, which were prepared from trucut biopsies and resection specimens referred from the Department of General Surgery, NRSMC. CD10 expression was assessed by Immunohistochemistry (IHC) in all cases and scored as negative, weak, or strong. The study examined the association between CD10 expression and the following parameters: age, histopathological grade, and the status of ER, PR, and HER2/neu markers. Data were entered into Microsoft Excel (MS) for statistical analysis. The significance of the study was determined using the Chi-square test, and data were analysed using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 (IBM, Illinois, US). A p-value of <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The study included a total of 120 cases, with 119 cases of female breast cancer (99.16%) and one case of male breast cancer (0.84%). The mean±SD age of the patients was 54±5.038 years (range 44 to 67 years). The majority of cases 102 (85.00%) were diagnosed as Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC), Not Otherwise Specified (NOS), followed by IDC-special types 18 (15.00%). CD10 expression was evaluated in all cases, and stromal CD10 positivity was observed in 79 out of 120 cases (65.80%), with 39 individuals (49.40%) showing weak positivity and 40 cases (50.60%) showing strong positivity. The remaining 41 cases (34.16%) were CD10 negative. Grade 3 cancers were predominant in this study 62 (51.66%). It was noted that CD10 stromal positivity increased with higher grade. Most of the cancers in this study were negative for ER, PR, and HER2/ Neu (78, 65.00%; 84, 70.00%; and 67, 55.83%, respectively). Stromal CD10 expression showed a significant association with ER (p-value=0.00001), HER2/neu (p-value=0.000089), tumour grade (p-value=0.0012), and an insignificant association with age (p-value0.264) and PR (p-value=0.256). Conclusion: Therefore, CD10 expression is strongly associated with well-established prognostic markers, namely higher tumour grade, HER2/neu negativity, and ER negativity. This indicates that CD10 can not only be used as an independent marker of poor prognosis but also as a target for the development of novel therapies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The most common malignancy of the ovary is serous carcinoma, which can be classified as either Low-grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma (LGSOC) or High-grade Serous Ovarian Carcinoma (HGSOC) and originates from the surface epithelium. However, the overall prognosis for both cancers is very poor. Immunohistochemical analysis of p53 and p16 expression is commonly used to detect mutations. Diffuse and strong mutations (mutant type) are almost always observed in cases of HGSOC, while focal expression (wild type) suggests the absence of mutations in HGSOC. LGSOCs are characterised by a low number or absence of genetic mutations. Aim: To investigate the association between p53 and p16 expression in different grades and stages of Serous Ovarian Carcinoma (SOC). Materials and Methods: This observational cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 62 patients diagnosed with ovarian serous carcinoma. The study focused on examining the expressions of p53 and p16 using Immunohistochemistry (IHC) in the Department of Pathology, Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata, West Bengal, India, over a period of one and a half years (February 2021 to July 2022). The study parameters included clinical features, histological findings, staging, The Federation of Gynaecology and Obstetrics (FIGO), grading, p53 and p16 expression by IHC in all cases, and the association between p53 and p16 expression with the grade and stage of the cancer. Statistical analysis was performed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software. A p-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: A total of 62 cases were included in the study, with 55 cases (88.70%) classified as LGSOC and 7 cases (11.29%) as HGSOC. The mean age for LGSOC was 53.5 years, while for HGSOC it was 54 years. Among the HGSOC cases (n=55), 45 cases (81.80%) showed diffuse positive results (mutant type) for p53. In contrast, there was no diffuse p53 expression in LGSOC cases (n=7), with 5 cases (71.40%) showing focal positivity (wild type). The p-value for comparing p53 expression in both cases was significant (<0.00001). As for p16 expression, among the HGSOC cases (n=55), 31 cases (56.40%) showed diffuse positivity (mutant type), while among the LGSOC cases (n=7), most of the cases, 5 cases (71.40%), showed focal positivity (wild type). The p-value for comparing p16 expression in both cases was significant (<0.003794). Conclusion: In conclusion, p53 along with p16 are good markers for grading SOC, and p53 is highly effective in differentiating HGSOC from LGSOC based on the positivity pattern (diffuse and strong positive for high-grade/mutant type, and focal positive for low-grade cancers). Background and Justification: Paraquat is one of the easily available household poisons and has become an easy source of committing suicide, especially in rural India including in West Bengal where it is used as a "weedkiller." Out of the fatal 272 poisoning cases where autopsies were done at NRSMCH Morgue in the year 2019, 56.6% of cases died due to transoral paraquat poisoning. Though adequate literature is available showing gross and microscopic changes in lungs, liver, and kidneys following transoral paraquat poisoning, data showing the effect of the poison in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract is limited though its detrimental effects on the GI tract are associated with increased morbidity. Objectives: The objectives of the study were to assess the gross and histopathological changes in different parts of the GI Tract involving lips, tongue, esophagus, and stomach in paraquat death cases brought for autopsy in NRSMCH Morgue, Kolkata, to fill the gap in the existing literature to a certain extent. Methods: The study was a descriptive, cross-sectional study that was done over 5 months and during which we got 38 cases based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Macroscopically Congestion with erosion and hemorrhage was seen mostly in the stomach followed by the esophagus. Histopathologically desquamation was the consistent finding in all organs attributed to the corrosive property of the paraquat solution. Chronic inflammatory cell infiltrations are predominantly seen in the tongue followed by the esophagus and lips. Hyperplasia of the surface epithelium was noticeable mostly in the esophagus followed by the tongue and lips but not in the stomach. Involvement of Distortion of glandular architecture in the stomach outnumbers the other organs, followed by the tongue. Necrotic changes were limited to the stomach and esophagus only. Both ulceration and necrotic changes were predominantly limited to the lowermost part of the esophagus than its rest portion, mainly at the junction of the esophagus and stomach where the surface epithelium shifted from squamous to columnar variety. Conclusion: The result of the study can be utilized by healthcare professionals to prepare proper medical/surgical interventions to reduce mortality and morbidity in transoral paraquat poisoning cases concerning GI complications. A free-standing, 3D, macro/microstructured atomic-cobalt/cobalt-oxide-reduced-graphene-oxide (Co/Co3O4-Gr) composite has been developed for complete water splitting. The self-assembled porous morphology associated with the metal/metal oxide active sites makes the whole surface of the electrode conducive toward catalyzing hydrogen and oxygen evolution in alkaline media at a low onset potential. The liquid-crystal-mediated free-standing electrocatalyst shows oxygen evolution at the onset potential of 1.38 V and at the potential of 1.66 V for a current density of 10 mA cm−2. These potentials are comparable to the corresponding values for Ru/C (1.46 and 1.62 V, respectively). In addition, the promising hydrogen evolution performance of our composite compared to Pt/C in alkaline media makes it an efficient bifunctional electrocatalyst for comprehensive water splitting, as well as provides guidance for future electrochemical energy material technologies. Depression is the second most diagnosed disease in the world and is predicted to be the highest by the year 2030. Depressive disorder impacts both on mentally and physically, thus diagnosing this disorder in early stage is essential. Automatic Depression Detection (ADD) system via speech can greatly facilitate early-stage depression diagnosis. Development of such systems demands a standard balanced database. In this work, we present a novel labeled audio distress interview database. To our knowledge, this is the first depression database in Bengali language that contains audio responses from depressed and non-depressed subjects. Alongside this, we present a set of hand-crafted acoustic features that effectively detect depression mood using speech signals. Finally, we justify the quality of our developed database and the efficacy of the feature set in predicting depression using a baseline machine learning (ML) model. We believe that the annotated database will be a valuable resource for use by treating clinicians.Clinical Relevance-This research reports a new speech database in Bengali language for depression detection. This database can be used in healthcare by developing an automatic prediction model for depression detection.

Creativity can be divided into four factors, namely, mini c, little c, Pro C and Big C. Little c measures creativity required in doing daily activities which are essential for stable living. In this study little c is categorized into three levels of high, medium and low and its relationship with occulometric is studied to see if higher values obtained in the test also reflect in their eye movement patterns. Occulometric is studied using eye movement patterns such as fixations, saccades, and pupil diameter. Analysis by One way Anova shows differences in the three groups. It is found that high creativity group has higher number of fixations, low peak velocity, higher saccadic duration and larger mean pupil duration in comparison to its other counterparts. Clinical Relevance- Creativity is an important aspect of everyday living. Understanding this cognitive process through a bio-marker would help in validating a mental capability through eye parameters.

The Rorschach inkblot test (RIBT) is a standardized projective technique. It uses a subjective way of collecting and mapping responses of different regions like large (D) and small details (d). In this paper, eye tracking parameters like Initial Fixation Location, SF Ratio, Mean Fixation Duration and Mean Return are used to develop some objective measures which would be helpful in the assessment of the Rorschach responses. The study was conducted on 25 normal subjects who were administered RIBT cards I, II and X. The result shows an initial tendency to fixate in the central regions of the Rorschach cards. Computation of SF ratio helps in understanding most frequently fixated regions leading to popular response. Certain locations of each card have high attentional value where most shifts and fixations occur. The study supplements to the information obtained by the subjective scoring of RIBT and also indicates that specific eye tracking parameters could be an objective marker for personality assessment with RIBT.
