Personal branding has become a common practice in the business world. In a knowledge-based economy, this seems to be a natural direction for the development of individuals' professional activities. However, the diversity in the activities undertaken is significant. Therefore, it is important to examine not only the final results of the activities undertaken but also their internal variation and sources, which can influence the long-term development of the individual and the ability to maintain these activities in the long term. The purpose of this article is to present the results of research on the impact of an individual's start-up capital and occupation on the diversification of activities undertaken while building a personal brand. Literature research was conducted to identify the components of start-up capital and to establish the relationship between the personal branding process and the start-up capital possessed. The empirical research used a diagnostic survey method, a questionnaire technique. It was conducted among a representative sample of Polish internet users in May 2021. Analyses revealed relationships between individual components of start-up capital and the variation in personal branding activities undertaken, as well as among those in occupations requiring creativity, broad decision-making and dependence on individual performance. The study provides relevant information for the discussion on how the concept of personal branding can be practically applied among people from different social and professional groups. This paper responds to calls for more empirical research in social entrepreneurship (SE) and aims to empirically establish the role of intrinsic, extrinsic, and complex motivations, alongside employment status and the existence of start-up capital on motivation for SE. A quantitative methodology is employed, using multiple linear regressions (MLR). Six hypotheses are tested and the results reported show that all variables have a positive effect on SE. For the first time, this study tested the “complex motivation” which has a positive impact on SE up to the level that intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, become non-significant.

This research was motivated by the main problems faced by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is lack of capital. Refer to Regulations No. 20 of 2008, the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs was responsible for empowering SMEs which is through Start-Up Capital Assistances Program for startup Entrepreneur. The aim of the research to analyze and describe the program implementation as well as supporting and inhibiting factors based on the Van Meter and Van Horne policy implementation models. This type of research uses a description method using the qualitative approach. This study uses unique hand-collected data from a televised entrepreneurial pitch competition to examine gender differences in obtaining angel financing. Results indicate that while the yield rates between male and female teams do not differ, a gender disparity in the amount of angel funding does in fact exist. Female teams receive less capital and provide more equity relative to their male counterparts, even when controlling for typical determinants of investment, such as industry and prior company success. Further, we find that female teams receive investments with lower valuations than their male counterparts largely because they initially offer higher equity stakes for less capital. Thus, this suggests that limitations to angel financing of female entrepreneurial ventures may be partly self-imposed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this paper, we focus on how female entrepreneurs in Jordan finance the establishment and early growth of their technology-based ventures. Previous research exploring the experiences of female entrepreneurs, undertaken primarily in Western, developed countries, had emphasised their early reliance on informal capital, sourced via personal networks, acquaintances, friends and family. Little was known, however, about the experiences of women in developing economies, such as the Middle East, where they represent a growing proportion of the educated and entrepreneurial populations, albeit from a small base. The study discussed here investigated the entrepreneurial journey of the female founders of 16 technology-based firms in Jordan, adopting a network perspective to explore how they accessed sources of finance and investigate the dynamic nature and characteristics of their financial ties, from start-up through to early growth. Our findings show how, compared with their western counterparts, these Jordanian women adopt a very different approach to venture funding from the start, relying more heavily on formal sources and networks. In securing funds from formal business networks ties, they leverage benefits from connections established via formal events and networking platforms to facilitate development of their financial network ties at a very early stage. The paper aim is to identify the impact of start-up capital on the development of women's enterprises as well as to study the effect of using the start-up capital on the family welfare and standard of living and discuss the problems and constraints that face women enterprises. The researcher used qualitative questionnaire to collect data on a purposive sample of 100 women who benefit from the start-up capital. The majorities of women entrepreneurs are illiterate or have basic education. Women entrepreneurs contribute to the sustainable livelihood of their families and communities. Microfinance helps empower women from poor households to make this contribution. Access to start-up capital increases the income of women entrepreneurs. Women have been shown to spend more of their income on their households, therefore, when women are helped to increase their incomes, the welfare of whole family is improved. Every day in Poland approx. 1,400 new companies appear, of which 90% are registered as business activities of private people. Statistical Polish entrepreneur is a trader, less a ser-vice provider. Companies are established by professionals, unemployed and opening activities under the pressure of employers. Only 30% of the new companies, survive 5 years. The lecture describes the basic mistakes made by the owners of micro-enterprises, which most often lead to their breakdown. The author tries to indicate what steps an entrepreneur must take to survive in today's market.

This research set out to study a revelatory case of an indigenous entrepreneurial initiative which is fostering inclusive sustainable development in South Africa through a company called Boswa ba Rona Development Corporation (Boswa). Founded in a rural South African village called Mogopa , Boswa represents a revelatory case because the community members creatively came up with the means to raise their own start-up capital endogenously through a unique self-funding model. Using qualitative case-study research, this article set out to describe this funding model and to determine its underlying rationale. The study drew on antenarrative, agential storytelling and creativity theory to illumine the discursive practices which fostered the unprecedented developmental change experienced by this community. The case study found that two antenarrative agential stories served as powerful rationales for action, namely; the story of self-reliance and the story of equitable inclusiveness. These stories resulted in a unique context-based creativity which enabled this relatively poor community to raise enough funds to get their commercial venture off the ground. The contribution of this article is threefold. First, it reveals how organizational creativity can foster inclusive sustainable development in constrained contexts such as impoverished, rural and under-resourced villages. Second, the article applied antenarrative agential storytelling theory which revealed how stories can foster transformational change for inclusive sustainable development. Third, the article applied an augmented version of the Enhancing Audio Recorded Research (EARR) model; a novel method of qualitative data presentation which has not been applied in this domain of study before. This article argues that inclusive sustainable development can be fostered by organizational creativity and antenarrative agential storytelling, especially in contexts that may otherwise pose insurmountable barriers to the innovative entrepreneurship required to realize inclusive sustainable development. • Agential antenarrative storytelling fosters organizational creativity. • Creative indigenous entrepreneurship promotes inclusive sustainable development. • Self-reliance empowers communities to develop endogenously and authentically. • Equitable inclusiveness ensures the broader deep involvement of the marginalized.
