In case of adverse effects manifesting related to bisphosphonate use, oral surgeons are usually treating and keep the patient's symptoms under control. In this study, we aimed to investigate a new treatment protocol for medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ). This treatment protocol consisted of administering human parathyroid hormone (hPTH) loaded chitosan microspheres which were prepared by ionotropic gelation method or/and the prepared microspheres were suspended in a poloxamer gel. After in-vitro optimization studies, the efficacy of the chosen formulations was evaluated in-vivo studies. Zoledronic acid was administered daily to forty-eight adult female Sprague-Dawley rats, divided into four experimental groups, at a daily concentration of 0.11 mg/kg over three weeks to induce the MRONJ model. At the end of this period, maxillary left molar teeth were extracted. In the first group, the subjects received no treatment. In the negative control group, poloxamer hydrogel containing empty microspheres were immediately applied to the soft tissues surrounding the extraction socket. The treatment group-1 was treated with local injections of poloxamer hydrogel containing hPTH. The treatment group-2 was treated with a single local injection of poloxamer hydrogel containing hPTH-loaded chitosan microspheres. Both treatment groups received a total of 7 ?g of hPTH at the end of the treatment protocol. Our study demonstrates successful attenuation of MRONJ through a local drug delivery system combined with hPTH, as opposed to previously attempted treatment strategies. © Sociedade Brasileira de Hematologia e Hemoterapia. Burn areas are susceptible to bacterial growth and infections, particularly in cases with lengthy periods of hospital stay. Burn wound healing, which involves various molecular and cellular mechanisms, continues to be a significant problem. Growth factors and cytokines play an active and vital role in wound healing. In the present study, the effects of kefir on wound healing in a 2nd-degree mouse burn model infected with e.coli, s.aureus and p.aeruginosa were investigated in vitro. In order to clarify the effects of kefir in the wound healing process, the macroscopic changes in kefir-applied scar tissue as well as wound depth and width were examined and IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10 and TNF-α, VEGF, TGF-β protein levels were determined using the qRT-PCR method. The findings of the present study show that kefir has a positive impact on the factors playing a role in wound healing and accelerates the healing process.

With increasing industrial production, pollutants generated in the process of bleaching or dying disperse to the natural water medium. Therefore, an effective photocatalytic material must be prepared for water treatment quickly. In the present study, a novel and effective V-scheme Ag2WO4/BaO/NiO heterostructure photocatalyst with high photocatalytic performance for the degradation of different organic pollutants was designed and formed by a simple precipitation method. Scanning electron microscopy images showed that BaO, NiO, and Ag2WO4/BaO/NiO have a nanopipe, spherical, and nanorod morphology, respectively. X-ray diffraction results indicated that cubic phases were obtained with higher crystallite structure and lower crystallite distortion. The optical properties of the samples exhibited UV-absorption regions with about 3.35, 3.38, and 3.28 eV band gaps for BaO, BaO/NiO, and Ag2WO4/BaO/NiO, respectively. The photocatalytic activity was investigated by the degradation of Congo red under UV-light irradiation. To investigate the photocatalytic mechanism, the photodegradation performance of the catalyst was analyzed with different scavengers such as isopropyl alcohol, ascorbic acid, and potassium iodide (KI), and it was shown that the main active species were •O2- radicals and that OH• radicals have a significant contribution toward the degradation process. Compared to bare BaO and BaO/NiO samples, Ag2WO4/BaO/NiO showed excellent photocatalytic activity and about 41%, 66 and 99% of Congo red photodegraded under UV light within 30 min. The reason for this is that the Ag2WO4/BaO/NiO heterostructure displayed wider contact which promoted more charge-transfer ways to shorten the electron transportation path and increase the inhibition of electron-hole pairs.

In this study, 4-(3-methoxyphenyl)piperazin-1-ium 4-(3-methoxyphenyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate monohydrate was synthesized and characterized by using spectroscopic (XRD, FT-IR, FT-Ra, and NMR) techniques. Theoretical calculations were performed in the DFT method using the B3LYP functional and the 6–311 + + G(d,p) basis set and compared with the experimental results. It was determined that the geometric parameters and spectroscopic data obtained from the DFT calculations were in high agreement with the experimental results. The HOMO–LUMO energy gap was calculated at 5.19 eV, while this value was experimentally found at 4.26 eV from the UV–Vis absorption spectrum. Although the experimental and theoretical values are different from each other, according to both results, this synthesized structure has low reactivity and a tendency to be stable. Also, the electronic (MEP, Fukuki functions, and charge analyses), nonlinear optical, and thermodynamic properties (heat capacity, entropy, enthalpy change, and Gibbs free energy) of the title complex were investigated. Electrophilic and nucleophilic regions were found to be the same in all of the electronic investigation analyses. The first hyperpolarizability value was calculated to be 25 times (9.27 × 10–30 esu) greater than that of the urea used for comparison. Therefore, it has very good nonlinear optical properties. The change in the values of calculated thermodynamic properties depending on the temperature change shows that the thermodynamic system of the structure changed. Finally, antimicrobial activity studies were carried out to evaluate the biological activity of this synthesized complex, the experimental results were supported by molecular docking studies, and the toxicological and physicochemical properties of the complex were investigated. © 2023, Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences.

Background/aim: The self-administered neck mobility assessment tool (S-ROM-Neck) is the subjective cervical region range of motion (S-ROM) assessment scale. The study aimed to demonstrate the reliability and validity of the Turkish version of the S-ROM-Neck in patients with chronic neck pain. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a total of 60 chronic neck pain patients in the Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Clinic of Pamukkale University Hospital between January and August 2021. The mean age of the individuals was 34.1 +/- 9.9 years. Patients were assessed with S-ROM-Neck twice to prove the test-retest reliability. In addition, Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Neck Disability Index (NDI) and bubble inclinometer measurement were used to analyze the construct validity of S-ROM-Neck. Results: The intraclass correlation coefficients of the S-ROM-Neck were higher than 0.80 (ICC > 80, CI: 0.90-98). The internal consistency of the S-ROM-Neck total score was within the acceptable limits (alpha = 0.754). Construct validity was high regarding the correlation analysis (r > 0.05, p < 0.01). Conclusion: Turkish S-ROM-Neck is a valid and reliable tool to assess the S-ROM of individuals with chronic neck pain.

Objective To develop and evaluate a theoretical model to explain the relationships between eHealth literacy and perception of health, and perception of pregnancy risk in pregnant women. Method This cross-sectional study was carried out with 238 pregnant women in one of the hospitals in Turkey between March 15, 2021 and May 15, 2021. Data were collected using an Information Form, eHealth Literacy Scale, Perception of Health Scale, and Perception of Pregnancy Risk Questionnaire. Results The mean scores of the pregnant women participating in the study on eHealth literacy and perception of health were 30.45 +/- 6.56 and 51.42 +/- 6.91, respectively and their mean score on perception of pregnancy risk was 42.6 +/- 29.38. The direct effect of the eHealth Literacy Scale on the "Risk for Baby" subscale of the Perception of Pregnancy Risk Questionnaire was insignificant whereas the scale's effect became significant with the Perception of Health Scale (beta = -0.006; 0.057). Conclusion To reduce the perception of risk in pregnant women, it is important to improve not only their eHealth literacy but also their knowledge and attitudes about being healthy.

Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the effect of mindfulness on medication adherence in individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted with 147 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. The data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, Morisky Medication Adherence Scale, and Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. Results: A strong positive correlation was determined between the mindfulness level and medication adherence of the individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Furthermore, mindfulness of the individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia was statistically significant in explaining medication adherence (p < 0.05) and mindfulness predicted medication adherence by 64%. Conclusion: It was observed that the individuals' mindfulness level was low and half of the participants had low medication adherence. Moreover, as their mindfulness level increased, so did their medication adherence.

In this work, microscale poly-2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate [p(HEMA)]-based cryogels were fabricated as a drug delivery material using molecular imprinting technology for controlled release of mitomycin C (MMC) as an anti-cancer drug. MMC imprinted pHEMA-based micro cryogels (pMIPs) were prepared according to free-radical polymerization by using N-methacryloyl-(l)-histidine methyl ester (MAH) as an amino-acid-based polymerizable functional monomer using a micro stencil array chip with microwells of 200 μm diameter and 500 μm thickness. Following that, scanning electron microscope, swelling test, and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy were used for the characterization studies of pMIPs. After the characterization studies, MMC release performance of pMIPs was investigated towards the different pH values and various MMC concentrations in the aqueous solutions. The in vitro cytotoxicity studies of the pMIPs and the non-imprinted pHEMA based micro cryogels (pNIPs) were examined using L929 cell line. According to the experimental findings, the incorporation of MAH monomer could increase the release performance of pMIPs and the release of MMC from the pMIPs was non-Fickian in the aqueous solution. pMIPs did not show any noticeable cytotoxicity and could be potentially used as a new drug carrier for MMC release.

The complete enzymatic degradation of lignocellulosic biomass requires the cooperative action of cellulosic, hemicellulosic, and lignolytic enzymes such as cellulase, xylanase, laccase, galactosidase, and arabinofuranosidase. Arabinofuranosidases (E.C 3.2.1.55), which belong to the glycoside hydrolase family of enzymes, hydrolyze the 1,3- and 1,5-α-arabinosyl bonds in L-arabinose- containing molecules. L-arabinoses are present in hemicellulosic part of lignocellulosic biomass. Arabinofuranosidases also play an important role in the complete hydrolysis of arabinoxylans. Analysis of the genome project and CAZY database revealed two putative arabinofuranosidase genes in the A. acidocaldarius genome. The aim of the study was cloning, heterologous expression, purification and biochemical characterization of the arabinofuranosidase enzyme encoded in A. acidocaldarius genome. For this purpose, the AbfA gene of the arabinofuranosidase protein was cloned into the pQE-40 vector, heterologously expressed in E. coli BL21 GOLD (DE3) and successfully purified using His-Tag. Biochemical characterization of the purified enzyme revealed that A. acidocaldarius arabinofuranosidase exhibited activity over a wide pH and temperature range with optimum activity at 45 ºC and pH 6.5 in phosphate buffer towards 4-nitrophenyl-α-L-arabinofuranoside as the substrate. In addition, the enzyme is highly stable over wide range of temperature and maintaining 60% of its activity after 90 min of incubation at 80 ºC. Through the bioinformatics studies, the homology model of A. acidocaldarius arabinofuranosidase was generated and the substrate binding site and residues located in this site were identified. Further molecular docking analysis revealed that the substrate located in the catalytically active pose and, residues N174, E175, and E294 have direct interaction with 4-nitrophenyl-α-L-arabinofuranoside. Moreover, based on phylogenetic analysis, A. acidocaldarius arabinofuranosidase exists in the sub-group of intracellular arabinofuranosidases, and G. stearothermophilus and B.subtilis arabinofuranosidases are close relatives of A. acidocaldarius arabinofuranosidase. This is the first study to report the gene cloning, recombinant expression and biochemical and bioinformatic characterization of an auxiliary GH51 arabinofuranosidase from an acidothermophilic bacterium A. acidocaldarius. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature.

A novel complex silver nitrate of 5-iodindole molecule has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared and Raman spectroscopy, and 1H NMR analysis. DFT calculations were performed using the B3LYP with 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for light atoms (C,H, N, and O) and the DGDZVP basis set for heavy atoms (Ag and I). Theoretical and experimental bond lengths and bond angles have been compared and determined to be in good agreement with each other. By using 1H NMR analysis, the chemical shift values of H atoms in this new structure were determined and compared with the theoretically calculated values. Also, experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman modes of the complex structure assigned that depending on total energy distribution (TED) values have been compared with theoretical wavenumbers. The HOMO-LUMO energy gap, the frontier molecular orbital, the molecular electrostatic potential map, and atomic charge analysis have been carried out to reveal the electronic properties of the structure. The non-linear optical properties of the title molecule and its thermodynamic properties such as entropy, heat capacity, enthalpy change, and Gibbs free energy at different temperatures were investigated. Finally, the antibacterial activity of this new structure obtained from the synthesis of 5-iodoindole with silver nitrate has been evaluated.

AIM: This study was performed to explore the experiences and the psychosocial difficulties faced by nurses and physicians involved in the treatment and care for COVID-19 adult patients in the intensive care unit. METHOD: The interpretative phenomenological approach was used, and the data were gathered between June and July, 2020 in Rize using face-to-face interviews. The sample consisted of 10 nurses and 5 physicians. The thematic analysis was utilized to analyze the data. The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) were followed in the study. RESULTS: The experiences of nurses and physicians were categorized under three themes and subcategories. The theme of "Going Through Psychosocial Changes" was divided into decreased emotional well-being and experiencing social changes, the theme of "Work-Related Challenges" was divided into losing the routines and economic concerns, and the theme of "Felt Gains" was divided into realizing one's worth and increased motivation. CONCLUSION: The study revealed that nurses and physicians are supported, respected, and described as heroes by Turkish society. However, they are psychologically and socially adversely affected, they display negative and positive emotions, and experience psychological growth. In addition, nurses complain about insufficient and unfair payment. Despite all these challenges, nurses and physicians continue to work with increasing emotional resistance. It is recommended to be aware of the problems that they experience during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, protect their mental health, provide adequate economic support, especially for nurses, and take necessary measures by collecting data that may be a guide for subsequent outbreaks.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: The global coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic affects society seriously in terms of psychosocial aspects, but this effect is more intense on some specific population groups. University students are among the most affected population groups by the pandemic. This study was conducted to determine the anxiety, motivation, stress levels, and associated factors among health science students during the COVID-19 pandemic. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The population of this descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of students studying at health-related departments in three universities in Turkey. The data were collected from 855 students determined by the stratified sampling method using the online survey method. A questionnaire developed by the researchers and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were used to collect the data. Percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, One-Way ANOVA test, Pearson correlation, and linear regression analysis were performed to evaluate the data. RESULTS: The results revealed that the mean age of the students was 20.85 +/- 2.37 years (min: 18; max: 41), 80.5% were women, 38.0% were nursing students, 13.7% had a family member with the diagnosis of COVID-19. The BAI mean score was found to be 29.00 +/- 7.8. According to the multiple linear regression analysis, the factors affecting students' anxiety scores significantly were being female, impaired sleep and nutrition patterns, decreased motivation, increased stress level and having a family member with the diagnosis of COVID-19. CONCLUSION: Health science students experience severe anxiety due to COVID-19 pandemic and have moderate motivation and stress scores. Being a woman, having impaired sleep and nutrition patterns, reduced motivation, increased stress level and a family member diagnosed with COVID-19 are factors influencing the level of anxiety.

BACKGROUND/AIMS: With aging, physical, psychological and social changes occur and individuals lose their independence and become semi-or full dependent. Accordingly, physical, psycho-social problems can be seen in the older people and their functionality decreases. For this reason, the study was carried out for the purpose of multidimensional evaluation of cognitive and psycho-social functions of older people. MATERIALS and METHODS: The study was conducted between April 2018 and November 2018. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was performed in two different family health centers in Mardin province. The research was completed with a total of 200 older people who agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected using “Patients Information Form”, “Katz Index of Independence in Activities of Daily Living (Katz ADL)” and “Multidimensional Observation Scale for Elderly Persons (MOSES)”. The number, percent, mean, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis test and Spearman correlation analysis were used in the data analysis. RESULTS: The mean age of participants was 70.03±8.48 years. 54.2% of older people were female and 45.8% were male. The mean score of Multidimensional Observation Scale for Elderly Persons was 24.36±22.38. The mean score of the Katz Index of Independence in Activities of Daily Living was 16.32±3.14. Objectives: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infection often causes olfactory dysfunction and parosmia may occur in some patients with olfactory dysfunction. In this study, we retrospectively investigated the effectiveness of modified olfactory training (MOT) for the treatment of COVID-19-induced parosmia. Study Design: This study presents results of MOT performed with 12 odors for 36 weeks in patients with olfactory dysfunction following COVID-19 infection. A total of 75 participants were included in the study (mean age 33 years, range 16–60 years). Methods: The patients were separated into two groups: 1) Treatment group consisted of parosmia patients who received MOT with three sets of four different odors sequentially. 2) Control group consisted of parosmia patients who did not perform any olfactory training. Both groups were matched for age and sex distribution of participants. TDI scores were compared at the time of application and at the end of the 9th month by the Sniffin' Sticks Test. The results of the 0th and 9th months were recorded by applying the parosmia assessment scale to both groups. The results were analyzed statistically, and p < 0.05 was considered significant. Magnetic solid-phase extraction coupled to high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)-diode array detection method has been developed for the sensitive analysis of Anastrozole (ANA) and Letrozole (LET) in human urine samples. Characterization studies of the newly synthesized material (Fe3O4@TEPA) were carried out by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscope techniques. The method has provided linearity for both the analytes ( r2 > 0.9900) in the range of 4.00–160.00 ng mL−1. The limit of detections for ANA and LET was found to be 1.14 and 1.26 ng mL−1, respectively. The limit of quantification for ANA and LET was obtained 3.78 and 3.86 ng mL−1, respectively. The new method was simple, convenient, fast, and suitable for the direct analysis of ANA and LET in urine samples. Finally, the developed method was applied to the spiked human urine samples to test accuracy and repeatability. Recovery values for each of the molecules were calculated in the range of 93.4–108.0% (n = 3) at two concentration levels, while % RSDs were lower than 6.2%.

Bu araştırma, pozitif psikolojik sermaye, duygusal zekâ ve tükenmişlik arasındaki ilişkileri belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda ilgili literatür taranarak değişkenler arasındaki ilişkilere yönelik dört hipotez belirlenmiştir. Araştırma evreni, Türkiye’de Aksaray ve Konya illerinde çeşitli meslek gruplarında görev yapan çalışanlardan oluşmaktadır. Kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 408 kişi araştırmanın örneklemi olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada nicel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca duygusal zekânın tükenmişliği negatif yönde etkilediği ve pozitif psikolojik sermayenin tükenmişlik üzerindeki etkisinde tam aracılık rolünün olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır., In today's business life, employees need to be able to use their emotional intelligence when necessary and be equipped with positive psychological capital to be successful, contribute more to their organizations and cope with the feeling of burnout. The research is carried out to determine the relationships between positive psychological capital, emotional intelligence, and burnout. For this purpose, four hypotheses regarding the relationships between the variables are determined by scanning the relevant literature. The research population consists of employees working in various occupational groups in the provinces of Aksaray and Konya in Turkey. 408 people selected by convenience sampling method are determined as the sample of the research. Quantitative research method is used in the study. In this context, the data in the research are collected by the questionnaire technique. The research hypotheses are tested by regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, all hypotheses are accepted, and it is determined that positive psychological capital affects emotional intelligence positively and burnout negatively. In addition, it is concluded that emotional intelligence negatively affects burnout, and that positive psychological capital has a full mediating role in the effect of burnout. Anahtar Kelimeler

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the sound transmission loss (STL) properties and surface morphologies of metallic-based and graphite-based coatings. Aluminium (22 µm average particle size (APS) and 12 µm APS), copper (12 µm APS), silver (14 µm APS) as conductive metal pigments and graphite (18 µm APS) as a semi-conductive pigment were used to create coatings and STL properties were measured with an in-house designed sound wave modulation device. Laser beams with different carrier wavelengths were used in the experiment, for which the wavelength with the highest R2 and number of significant variables was used to create a mathematical model to help in measuring the sound transmission loss properties. Surface tension energy, conductivity, permeability, reflectivity, concentration and the type of pigment were found to be significant in determining the STL properties.

This was a clinical study investigating the possible relationship between covid 19 infection and spermiogram in male population Objective: Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been interest in the impact of both SARS-CoV-2 infection and pandemic-induced social restrictions on male reproductive health. This study aimed to evaluate the spermiogram values of men who presented for infertility during the pandemic compared with the previous 2 years. Methods: Patients who presented to a urology outpatient clinic for the first time due to infertility were included. The patients' age, semen volume, and spermiogram results were recorded. Based on the presentation date, the patients were divided into prepandemic group 1 (March 2018-February 2019), prepandemic group 2 (March 2019-February 2020), and pandemic group (March 2020-February 2021) for comparison. Results: A total of 594 patients were included. There was no significant difference between the three groups in terms of the number of patients who presented for infertility (207, 190, and 197 patients, respectively; p=0.691). Pandemic process increase the vulnerability of women to intimate partner violence (IPV). IPV is one of the greatest stress sources a woman can face. This study's purpose to determine effects of the Covid-19 pandemic process on the IPV status and perceived stress levels of women. The population of the descriptive study consisted 834 women working at a state university in Turkey's. 452 women who with intimate partner relationships were included in the sample. Data collection tools were applied via online survey link. The mean age of the women was 30.6 ± 4.20. The The Perceived Stress Scale mean scores of the women were 40.18 ± 3.20. They are not able to cope with stress effectively. It was determined that women participated the study were exposed to more IPV during the pandemic process. It was found that as the frequency of IPV increased, women's perception of stress also increased. Research such as this can be used to help inform decision-makers as they grapple with the adverse negative effects of public health safety measures related to Covid-19.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to determine the effects of workload on the styles of anger expression and “trait anger” of health professionals working in a COVID‐19 pandemic hospital. Design and Methods: This descriptive study was carried out at a COVID‐19 pandemic hospital in Turkey. The sampling consisted of 493 healthcare professionals. The data were evaluated with the SPSS (23.0) software program. Findings: The study found that the participants who perceived the workload as higher, and could not tolerate the work they performed, were high in “trait anger” levels and their anger was suppressed. The importance of plants in folk medicine and scientific studies is increasing day by day. In this context, the plants pose a danger to human health when they are eaten by the public, consumed as herbal tea or used as medicinal plants especially the toxic metals in their composition. For this reason, determining the macro, micro and toxic element content in the plants is important for health. In this study; the metal contents of root and aerial parts of nine different Salvia species were determined and the chemometric evaluation of the obtained results was made. In the principal component analysis (PCA) made with 20 elements of Salvia species, it was determined that the first two principal components explained 62.60% of the variance and the first six principal components explained 92.70%. When PCA and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) results are evaluated; the parts of Salvia species root and aerial parts were determined that were not clearly separated and there was no regional grouping. In addition, Salvia species prepared as herbal tea was left to different simulated body fluid medium conditions, and the changes in metal contents were examined. It was determined that were taken up Cr, Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn metals in the simulated saliva fluid (SSF), Ni, Mn metals in the simulated gastric fluid (SGF), and Na, K metals in the simulated intestinal fluid (SIF). It was determined that Fe metal in almost all Salvia species was not taken from three simulated body fluid mediums. Thus, elements determined which were taken up in body fluid mediums.

Örgüt kültürü ve ilgili araştırmalar, 21. Yüzyıl’da tüm dünyada neo-klasik yaklaşımların etkisinde çağdaş yönetim teorileri ile birlikte oldukça büyük bir ilgi görmüş ve birçok işletme bu anlamda kurum etkinliğinin zarar görmemesini hedeflemiştir. Özellikle hastanelerde, sağlık çalışanlarının kurum tarafından benimsenmiş normlara uyumu ve bu doğrultuda performanslarının hangi yönde etkileneceği hem kurumsal hem de bireysel başarı için son derece önemlidir. Bu amaçla hastane çalışanlarının performanslarına örgüt kültürünün bir etkisinin olup olmadığı incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, hastanelerde örgüt kültürünün çalışanların performansları üzerine etkilerini ortaya koymayı amaçlayan tanımlayıcı türde bir literatür taramasıdır ve bu çalışmada ulusal ve uluslararası çalışmalardan faydalanılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda sağlık çalışanları mesleklerinin gerekleri ile ilgili unsurlardan performans anlamında etkilenirken çalışanların örgüt kültüründen de ulusal ve uluslararası boyutta negatif ve pozitif yönde etkilendikleri kanısına varılmaktadır. This study has a descriptive literatüre review with nitaonal and international studies aiming to reveal the effects of organizational culture and stress on the performance of employees in hospitals. As a result of the study, it is cocluded that while health workers are affected by the elements related to the requirements of their profession in terms of performance, they are also negatively and positively affected by the organizational culture at the national and international level. Crystals of a metal-organic framework, UiO-66, are grown on electrospun crosslinked poly-cyclodextrin (poly-CD) fibrous membranes with an ultrahigh coverage, and polyaniline (PANI) is further confined within the MOF pores. This study examines the psychosocial effects of digital technology addiction on children, which increased during the pandemic. Within the scope of the research, a total of 237 people, including 111 teachers and 126 parents, were surveyed. Technology addiction, which can be seen as a public health problem from the perspective of teachers and parents, causes children to experience anxiety and stress. It can also lead to introversion, low self-esteem, and an increase in the possibility of isolation from society. According to findings, children feel anxious, helpless, and angry when they leave digital technologies. Parents can encourage their children to use digital technologies, which they see as a babysitter, without considering the damaging effects. In addition, according to the opinions of teachers and parents, it can be said that children may be more likely to be connected to modern technologies because they do not have the maturity to understand the detrimental effect of excessive use of digital technologies. Technology addiction can cause many cognitive, physical, emotional, and behavioral problems. The term addiction implies the need for treatment. Therefore, technology addiction should be addressed as a public health problem. Bu çalışmanın amacı, pandemi döneminde artan dijital teknoloji bağımlılığının çocuklar üzerindeki psikososyal etkisini incelemektir. Araştırma kapsamında 111 öğretmen ve 126 ebeveyn olmak üzere toplam 237 kişiye anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Öğretmen ve Ebeveyn görüşlerine göre bir halk sağlığı sorunu olarak görülmesi gereken teknoloji bağımlılığı, çocukların kaygı ve stres yaşamasına neden olmaktadır. Ayrıca teknoloji bağımlılığı çocukların içe dönüklük, düşük benlik saygısı ve toplumdan izole edilme olasılığının artmasına neden olabilmektedir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, dijital teknolojileri terk ettiklerinde çocukların kendilerini endişeli, çaresiz ve kızgın hissettikleri belirlenmiştir. Ebeveynler, çocuk bakıcısı olarak gördükleri dijital teknolojilerin olumsuz etkilerini düşünmeden çocuklarını kullanıma teşvik edebilmektedirler. Ayrıca Öğretmen ve Ebeveyn görüşlerine göre çocukların, dijital teknolojilerin aşırı kullanımının olumsuz etkilerini anlayacak olgunluğa sahip olmadıkları için, modern teknolojilere bağlanma olasılıklarının daha yüksek olabileceği söylenebilir. Teknoloji bağımlılığı birçok bilişsel, fiziksel, duygusal ve davranışsal soruna neden olabilmektedir. Bağımlılık terimi tedavi ihtiyacını ifade eder. Bu nedenle teknoloji bağımlılığı bir halk sağlığı sorunu olarak ele alınmalıdır.

Bayburt Üniversitesi Lisansüstü Eğitim Enstitüsü Organik Tarım İşletmeciliği Anabilim Dalı`nda yüksek lisans ve doktora öğrenimi gören 25 öğrenciden veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, içerik analizine tabi tutularak öğrencilerin kendini yönetmeye yönelik algıları belirlenmiştir. Kendini yönetme konusunda genel olarak öne çıkan kavramların; kendini geliştirme, uzmanlaşma, dürüstlük, azim, kararlılık, üniversite, aile, sürekli öğrenme ve akademik derece olduğu görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak, öğrencilerin kendini yönetme algılarından hareketle lisansüstü öğrencilerinin kendini yönetme becerisine sahip oldukları söylenebilmektedir., ndividuals need to have self-management skills in order to be successful both in their private and business lives. Self-management skills start with education life and continue with working life. It can be said that individuals who gain self-management skills in their student life will be more successful in dealing with possible problems in the next stages of education life. The aim of this study is to determine the self-management skills of graduate students, who are an important human resource for the business world. For this purpose, the interview technique was preferred within the scope of the qualitative research method in the study. In the research, a questionnaire consisting of 12 questions was used on students' goals, objectives, missions, visions, values, responsibilities, turning points in their lives, strategies, strengths and weaknesses, and perceptions of threat and opportunity. Data were collected from 25 students studying for master's and doctorate education at Bayburt University Graduate Education Institute, Department of Organic Agricultural Management. The data obtained were subjected to content analysis and students' perceptions of self-management were determined. The concepts that stand out in general about self-management; self-improvement, specialization, integrity, perseverance, determination, university, family, continuing learning, and academic degrees. As a result, it can be said that postgraduate students have self-management skills based on students' self-management perceptions.

In this article, we synthesized a [CuI(4-pyridinecarboxaldehyde)4] complex characterized by CHN analy-ses, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and DFT. The spectroscopic characteristics and biological activities of the synthesized complex were investigated using quantum mechanical methods using combined experimental and com-putational approaches. The orbital NBO and topological AIM approaches were used to investigate inter-molecular interactions. According to the second-order perturbation energy analysis, the majority of the E (2) stabilization energies of of LP(N) -> LP *(Cu) are higher than those of LP(I) -> LP *(Cu), implying that the nitrogen atom in the complex is the main contributor to coordination. In addition, the biological ac-tivities of the title complex were investigated by using molecular docking analysis. In this investigation, the title Cu (I) complex was the most active molecule, with the maximum antibacterial activity against S. aureus and S. epidermidis infections that should be further clinically investigated due to its effective anti and anti-quorum sensing properties. The title complex showed good antiquorum-sensing activity when tested against C. violaceum ATCC 12472. Furthermore, in-silico molecular docking investigations corrobo-rated the chemical activity correlations. BackgroundTo our knowledge, no other studies investigated the internal consistency of the Edinburgh Visual Gait Score (EVGS). The aim of our study was to determine the reliability and construct validity of the EVGS in children with cerebral palsy (CP).ResultsA total of fifty children with CP were enrolled in the study. Participants were evaluated with Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS), Wisconsin Gait Scale (WGS), Gillette Functional Assessment Questionnaire (Gillette FAQ), Timed Up and Go Test (TUG), and EVGS (Rater-A and Rater-B). Slow-motion video analysis was used for the visual gait analysis. The inter-rater reliability, internal consistency, and construct validity of the EVGS were analyzed. The intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) of the EVGS total score was 0.947 (CI: 0.90-0.97). Inter-rater reliability was excellent (ICC>0.80). The Cronbach's alpha value was 0.936, within the acceptable range (0.700.50). EVGS had moderate validity with GMFCS for both raters.ConclusionThe EVGS was reliable and valid. Internal consistency of the EVGS is high, indicating a consistent structure to assess gait in children with CP.

The current work's main objective was to determine the chemical composition of Amygdalus communis (AC) leaf extract and examine the antibacterial and cytotoxic properties of biosynthesized gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). The chemical composition of AC leaf extract was determined using LC-ESI/MS/MS to detect compounds that may be responsible for the reducing, stabilizing, and capping steps in the synthesis of nanoparticles and their biological activities. The AC-AuNPs were spherical, with a particle size lower than 100 nm and a face-centered cubic structure. The EDX spectrum confirmed the formation of AuNPs and a negative zeta potential value (-27.7 mV) suggested their physicochemical stability. The in vitro cytotoxic efficacy of the AC-AuNPs against colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2), glioma (U118), and ovarian (Skov-3) cancer cell lines and human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) was evaluated by MTT assay. CaCo-2 cell proliferation was effectively inhibited by the AC-AuNPs at concentrations between 25 and 100 g mL-1. The AC-AuNPs exerted preeminent antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis with an MIC of 0.02 μg/mL, whilst good activity was shown against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria and Candida albicans yeast with an MIC of 0.12 μg/mL. Ultimately, the results support the high antibacterial and anticancer potential of biosynthesized AuNPs from AC leaf extract.

In this work, the usability of magnetic gelatin nanofiber (MGNF) for anionic dye removal was investigated in the aqueous solution. For this aim, the MGNF was prepared using the electrospinning technique with the addition of Fe3O4 nanopowders. After the characterization of MGNF with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, swelling test, scanning electron microscope, and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis, the adsorption performance of MGNF against the dye molecule, Orange G, was examined by changing the pH of the media, the dye concentration, and the ionic strength. The experimental results showed that the maximum adsorbed amount of Orange G was found as 15.6 mg/g at pH 3 value and the Orange G adsorption behavior was endothermic, physical, and suited to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The adsorption kinetic of Orange G was evaluated with the pseudo-first-order, the pseudo-second-order, and the Elovich kinetic models and the pseudo-second-order model results fitted the experimental findings as compared to the other models. The affordable magnetic adsorbent was capable of maintaining its stability after five consecutive adsorption, desorption, and regeneration cycles without significant loss of adsorption capacity.

In this study; molecular structure, IR and NMR spectroscopic properties of (E)-2–methoxy-4-(2- morpholinovinyl)phenol are investigated both experimentally and theoretically for the first time. The structural characterization of the compound was carried out by X-ray diffraction technique. The bond lengths, bond angles and dihedral angles of the compound were optimized using DFT with the B3LYP 6–311G(dp) base set. Using the optimized results, the infrared vibration frequencies and intensities of the compound as well as the 1H and 13C chemical shift values in the NMR spectrum were calculated with the B3LYP 6–311G(dp) basis set. In addition, the potential energy distributions (PED) of the structure were calculated to determine some characteristic vibrational frequencies of the compound. It is found that the theoretically calculated data support the experimental results. As a result, there is a good agreement between the experimentally determined structural parameters, vibrational frequencies, chemical shifts and theoretically calculated data of the compound.

Graptophyllum pictum is a tropical plant noticeable for its variegated leaves and exploited for various medicinal purposes. In this study, seven compounds, including three furanolabdane diterpenoids, i.e., Hypopurin E, Hypopurin A and Hypopurin B, as well as with Lupeol, β-sitosterol 3-O-β-d-glucopyranoside, stigmasterol 3-O-β-d-glucopyranoside and a mixture of β-sitosterol and stigmasterol, were isolated from G. pictum, and their structures were deduced from ESI-TOF-MS, HR-ESI-TOF-MS, 1D and 2D NMR experiments. The compounds were evaluated for their anticholinesterase activities against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BchE), as well as their antidiabetic potential through inhibition of α-glucosidase and α-amylase. For AChE inhibition, no sample had IC50 within tested concentrations, though the most potent was Hypopurin A, which had a percentage inhibition of 40.18 ± 0.75%, compared to 85.91 ± 0.58% for galantamine, at 100 µg/mL. BChE was more susceptible to the leaves extract (IC50 = 58.21 ± 0.65 µg/mL), stem extract (IC50 = 67.05 ± 0.82 µg/mL), Hypopurin A (IC50 = 58.00 ± 0.90 µg/mL), Hypopurin B (IC50 = 67.05 ± 0.92 µg/mL) and Hypopurin E (IC50 = 86.90 ± 0.76 µg/mL). In the antidiabetic assay, the furanolabdane diterpenoids, lupeol and the extracts had moderate to good activities. Against α-glucosidase, lupeol, Hypopurin E, Hypopurin A and Hypopurin B had appreciable activities but the leaves (IC50 = 48.90 ± 0.17 µg/mL) and stem (IC50 = 45.61 ± 0.56 µg/mL) extracts were more active than the pure compounds. In the α-amylase assay, stem extract (IC50 = 64.47 ± 0.78 µg/mL), Hypopurin A (IC50 = 60.68 ± 0.55 µg/mL) and Hypopurin B (IC50 = 69.51 ± 1.30 µg/mL) had moderate activities compared to the standard acarbose (IC50 = 32.25 ± 0.36 µg/mL). Molecular docking was performed to determine the binding modes and free binding energies of Hypopurin E, Hypopurin A and Hypopurin B in relation to the enzymes and decipher the structure-activity relationship. The results indicated that G. pictum and its compounds could, in general, be used in the development of therapies for Alzheimer's disease and diabetes.

Makale, WOS:000914765800001, Background: In this study, it was aimed to use a finite element stress analysis method to determine the amount of stress on enamel, dentin, restoration, resin cement and glass ionomer cement in amalgam class II disto-occlusal (DO) cavities by using two different cements with different thicknesses and amalgams with different Young' s modulus values, respectively. Methods: A three-dimensional tooth model was obtained by scanning an extracted human maxillary first molar with dental tomography. A class II DO cavity including 95-degree cavity margin angles was created. Resin cement (RC) and glass ionomer (GI) cement with different Young' s modulus measures (RC: 7.7 GPa, GI: 10.8 GPa) were used in amalgam. Different thickness combination groups were simulated: 50 mu m, 100 mu m and 150 mu m. Additionally, amalgams with different Young' s modulus values were used with the same thickness of different cements (Amalgam Young's modulus: 35 GPa and 50 GPa). A load of 600 N was delivered to the chewing area. The stress distributions on enamel, dentin, restoration, resin cement and class ionomer cement were then analyzed using finite element analysis. Results: The most stress accumulation was observed in the enamel tissue across all groups where resin cement or glass ionomer cement were used in different thicknesses and where amalgam restorations were used with different Young's modulus values. The least stress accumulation was observed in the cement itself. Conclusions: According to the results obtained, there was no difference between the two cement types in terms of stress accumulations in the models. However, when the same cements with different thicknesses were evaluated, it was concluded that the presence of both glass ionomer and resin cement with a thickness of 150 mu m causes less stress on the restoration surface. Furthermore, when the cements were combined with different thicknesses and with different amalgam Young' s modulus values, it was concluded that 50 GPa causes less stress on restoration surface.

From Rinorea oblongifolia fruits, 3-Nor-4β-friedelan-24-ol (1) and 3-decyl-6,7,8-trimethoxy-2H,5H-furo[4,3,2-de]isochromene-2,5-dione (4), new derivatives alongside, 28-hydroxyfriedelan-3-one (2), friedelin (3), 3,3’,4,4’,5’-pentamethylcoruleoellagic acid (5), hexamethylcoruleoellagic acid (6), 3’,4,4’,5,5’-pentamethylcoruleoellagic acid (7), and fatty compounds 8-11 were isolated and characterized using HRESIMS, EIMS, 1D and 2D NMR. In vitro enzyme inhibition of compounds 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 7 were evaluated on acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), α-glucosidase, urease and tyrosinase. Against AChE and BChE, the phenolic compounds 4, 5, 6, and 7 had good activity probably due to the phenolic nature and methoxy substituents. Compounds 4, 5, 6 and 7 exhibited good α-glucosidase inhibition especially compound 4 whose IC50 = 42.45 ± 0.46 µg/mL was close that of acarbose (IC50 = 20.52 ± 0.84 µg/mL) standard drug. Urease and tyrosinase were appreciably inhibited by the compounds. Overall results of enzyme inhibitory assays indicate Rinorea oblongifolia, fruits and its constituents as potential remedy for enzymatic disorders.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a complex disease characterized by impaired glucose homeostasis and serious long-term complications. First-line therapeutic options for T2DM treatment are monodrug therapies, often replaced by multidrug therapies to ensure that non-responding patients maintain target glycemia levels. The use of multitarget drugs instead of mono- or multidrug therapies has been emerging as a main strategy to treat multifactorial diseases, including T2DM. Therefore, modern drug discovery in its early stages aims to identify potential modulators for multiple targets; for this purpose, exploration of the chemical space of natural products represents a powerful tool. Our study demonstrates that avarone, a sesquiterpene quinone obtained from the sponge Dysidea avara, is capable of inhibiting in vitro PTP1B, the main negative regulator of the insulin receptor, while it improves insulin sensitivity, and mitochondria activity in C2C12 cells. We observe that when avarone is administered alone, it acts as an insulin-mimetic agent. In addition, we show that avarone acts as a tight binding inhibitor of aldose reductase (AKR1B1), the enzyme involved in the development of diabetic complications. Overall, avarone could be proposed as a novel natural hit to be developed as a multitarget drug for diabetes and its pathological complications.

Pesticides are the potent agrochemicals used to successfully manage, repel, or stop pests and weeds in agricultural production. This study analyzed 222 pesticide active substances in 90 samples of seven different vegetables and fruits acquired from producers through liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) technology. The validation parameters of each pesticide's active substances were determined. The LOD, LOQ values, and recovery studies of the 222 active substances were 3.00, 10.00 ng/g, and between 76.07 and 108.08%, respectively. The correlation coefficients and measurement uncertainty were determined to be between 0.990-0.999 and 8.91-31.46%, respectively. There were active substances of chlorpyrifos, acetamiprid, azoxystrobin, difenoconazole, malathion, dieldrin, boscalid, triticonazole, tebuconazole, triadimenol, trifloxystrobin, pirimicarb, and dodine among the vegetable and fruit samples used in the study. There were no active substances in 55 (61%) samples. Among the 35 samples (39%), 31 samples (34%) contained only one active substance, whereas four (5%) contained two active substances. However, the amount of active substances in six (7%) samples was above the maximum residue levels (MRL) limits. Various processes used in the study revealed that peeling was the most effective pesticide residue removal strategy. The washing procedure also proved that it reduced some pesticide residues but failed to eliminate all pesticides. The peeling process successfully reduced a significant amount of the active substances from the products, however, residues remained. Washing the fruits with hot water was also effective in removing residues. As a result, analyses of the peeled sections yielded higher pesticide residue concentrations than those of the entire product.

An alternative biotechnological solid phase bio-extraction (SPE) method was developed. Bacillus subtilis loaded multiwalled carbon nanotube was designed and used as biosorbent for the preconcentrations of Pb(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II). The experimental parameters such as sample flow rate, pH of sample solution, amounts of Bacillus subtilis and multiwalled carbon nanotube, volume of sample solution and reusability of column which affects the analytical characteristics of the SPE method were investigated in details. Surface structures were investigated by using FTIR, SEM. The best pH was determined as 5.0 and the percentages recoveries of Zn(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) were determined as 99.1%, 98.7%, and 96.2%, respectively, at a flow rate of 3 mL/min. In this study, in which the profitable sample volume was determined as 400 mL and the amount of multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) as 50 mg. It was also observed that the column had a significant potential to preconcentrate Zn(II), Ni(II), and Pb(II) even after 25 reuses. The biosorption capacities for Pb(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were calculated as 34.2 mg/g, 36.8 mg/g and 45.5 mg/g respectively. The LOD values were calculated as 0.024 ng/mL for Pb(II), 0.029 ng/mL for Ni(II), and 0.019 ng/mL for Zn(II). The linear range was detected as 0.25–25 ng/mL. The concentrations of Pb(II), Ni(II), and Zn(II) in a variety of real food samples were determined by using developed method after application of certified reference sample.

The complete mitochondrial genome ofSyrista parreyssii(Spinola,1843) was described. The circulargenome is 18,666bp with an AþT content of 82.60%. It contains 37 genes and a 1921 bp controlregion. This study was conducted to identify the views and anxiety levels of university students regarding distance education during the Covid-19 pandemic. The population of this descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of the students studying at seven health-related departments at two state universities in Turkey. The data were collected using a questionnaire developed by the researchers and the State Anxiety Inventory (SAI). The results revealed that 50.2% of the students were first-year students, 30% were studying at the first and emergency aid program, 79.3% had a medium-income level, 50.1% lived in a metropolitan area, and 83% had a nuclear family. 50.9% of the students were satisfied with the distance education system, 52.1% found the lessons given through the distance education method partially understandable, 46.7% found the lecturing styles partially plain and understandable, and 72.7% had exam anxiety. The SAI score of the students was found to be 59.0±5.30 (range 29–73), and 52.8% of them had a moderate anxiety level. While the level of anxiety in students varied significantly according to gender, department, and family income, no significant difference was found among the participants in terms of age, year of study, family type, place of residence, and the presence of chronic and psychological illnesses. The anxiety scores of those who were not satisfied with the distance education, who experienced exam anxiety, who understood the online lessons partially, and who attended the lessons were found to be significantly higher. The study demonstrated that university students experienced anxiety about distance education and exams during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Objectives The present study aimed to investigate the effects of acute hypoxia exposure following prenatal stress on the novelty-seeking behavior and hippocampus of adolescent rats. Methods The offspring were divided into prenatal stress (PS) and non-stress (NS) groups. Both groups were exposed to hypoxia on postnatal day 10 (P10) while control groups were undisturbed. Novel object recognition task was performed in each group. Next, brains were collected to examine hippocampus via immunohistochemical and biochemical studies on postnatal day 35 (P35). Results PS decreased novelty discrimination and synaptophysin (SYN) expressions in both CA1 and CA3 of the hypoxia group prominently (p < 0.05). Nestin-expressing cells were reduced while vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) expression was enhanced in the subgranular zone (SGZ) of PS-hypoxia group (p < 0.05). VEGF enhancement triggered angiogenesis in the CA1 and CA3 significantly (p < 0.05). PS also increased thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) levels in the hypoxia group as a result of oxidative stress (p < 0.05). It is well-known fact that education students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) receive in general classroom plays a great role in their behaviors to develop positively. However, including students with ASD in education is controversial issue in educational setting. This is because the continuum of including students with ASD in inclusive education is one of the most complicated areas of education. For this reason, this study is aimed to contribute to all stakeholders working with ASD in inclusive setting by explaining barriers and offering solutions about successful inclusion of these students. In accordance with this purpose, studies in the literature were reviewed in depth. As the result of the research findings, there are several factors of inclusion which are essential to access fully inclusive education for students with ASD in general classroom. According to literature, general well-being of students with ASD, school staffs, family involvement, typically developing peers, physical and social environment, curriculum and transitions play key role about fully inclusion of students with ASD. In order to inclusive education to be successful, there should not be any barriers regarding these factors. In this study, barriers and its potential solutions of successful inclusive education is presented., Otizm Spektrum Bozukluğu (OSB) olan öğrencilerin genel eğitim sınıflarında aldıkları eğitimin bu öğrencilerin davranışların olumlu yönde gelişmesinde büyük rol oynadığı bilinmektedir. Kaynaştırma eğitimine OSB'li öğrencilerin dâhil edilmesi alanyazında tartışmalı bir konudur. Çünkü kaynaştırma eğitimine OSB'li öğrencileri dâhil etme süreci, eğitimin en karmaşık alanlarından biridir. Bu çalışma, kaynaştırma eğitiminde OSB’li öğrenciler ile çalışan tüm paydaşlara, engelleri açıklayarak ve bu öğrencilerin başarılı bir şekilde dâhil edilmelerine yönelik çözümler sunarak alana katkıda bulunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmada literatürde yer alan çalışmalar derinlemesine incelenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre OSB'li öğrencilere sunulan kaynaştırma eğitiminin etkili olabilmesi için gerekli olan birkaç faktör vardır. OSB'li öğrencilerin genel refahı, okul personeli, tipik olarak gelişmekte olan akranlar, aile katılımı, fiziksel ve sosyal çevre, müfredat ve geçişler OSB'li öğrencilerin tam olarak kaynaştırma eğitimine dâhil edilmesinde anahtar rol oynamaktadır. Metallic nanoparticles are valuable materials and have a range of uses. Nanoparticles synthesized from plant wastes by environment-friendly methods have attracted the attention of researchers in recent years. Also, the advantages of biological resources and synthesis methods are attracting attention. In this study, silver nanoparticles were synthesized from Ananas comosus fruit peels using ecofriendly method steps. The characterization of the particles obtained was determined by using a UV-visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis.), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffraction diffractometer (XRD), Fourier scanning electron microscope (FESEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The nanoparticles showed maximum absorbance at 463 nm, measuring 11.61 in crystal nanosize, and presented spherical in appearance. An antimicrobial activity test was determined with the minimum inhibition concentration (MIC) method. The nanoparticles showed promising inhibitory activity on the Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogen microorganisms (Escherichia coli ATCC25922, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC29213, Bacillus subtilis ATCC11774, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC27833 bacteria, and Candida albicans yeast) at low concentrations. The cytotoxic and growth inhibitory effects of silver nanoparticles on different cancer cell lines were examined via the MTT assay. © 2021 Ayşe Baran et al.

Monthly samples of seven-species of penaeid shrimps, namely, Penaeus aztecus (Ives, 1891), Penaus hathor (Burkenroad, 1959) Penaus japonicus (Spence Bate,1888), Penaus kerathurus (Forskal,1775), Penaus semisulcatus (De Haan,1844), Metapenaeus monoceros (Fabricus, 1798) and Metapenaeopsis aegyptia (Galil & Golani, 1990) were collected from Antalya Bay in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea from March, 2019 through March, 2020. Except for P aztecus and P semisulcatus, no other shrimp species were infected with the parasitic isopod Epipenaeon ingens ingens. Of the 3043 P. aztecus shrimp inspected, 541 individuals were infected (17.8%) with the bopyrid parasite E. ingens ingens. However, the annual infestation rate in recruiting year class (28 nun < CL: 5.7%) was much less than in larger and sexually mature (CL >= 34 mm: 36.2%) individuals. Monthly infestation rates varied from 0.86 to 84.8%, and the size of infested shrimps ranged from 20 mm to 44 mm CL. The left branchial chamber was more likely infected (43.1%) than the right one (39.8%), and 17.1% appeared to be doubly infected. The percentage of the ovigerous female E. ingens ingens fluctuated between 31.7% (August) and 90.0% (February). We report for the first time the size at first accompaniment (FAS(50%)) and at first maturity (FMS50%) for the female parasite E. ingens ingens, 11.0 mm TL and 13.0 mm TL, respectively. The gonad weight (0.779 +/- 0.73 g) and GSI (0.223 +/- 0.333) value of uninfected female P. aztecus were about eight times greater than it was for infected shrimps (0.094 +/- 0.18 g and 2.006 +/- 1.669, respectively).

Here, a new and inexpensive polymer nanomaterial consisting of polyacrylamide and carmine (PAM-CR) was synthesized to provide selective extraction of aluminum and chromium from vegetable samples prior to their determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. Various characterized techniques including scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction were applied to investigate the structure and morphology of the PAM-CR. Important factors were investigated and optimized to improve the effectiveness of the adsorbent. Under optimized conditions, calibration graphs for Al(III) and Cr(III) were linear in the range from 0.2 to 400.0 μg L− 1 and 1.0 to 500.0 μg L− 1, respectively. Satisfied recoveries between 93.1% and 102.7% were obtained with detection limits of 0.06 μg L−1 and 0.35 μg L−1 for Al(III) and Cr(III), respectively. The relative standard deviation was in range of 2.0–2.3%. The PAM-CR can be reused 8 times without significant loss in the recovery. After validation study with certified reference material, the proposed method was successfully applied to the pre-concentration and determination of Al(III) and Cr(III) in vegetable samples

Background: Older adults, the prevalence of chronic diseases increase, depending on the physiological and psychological changes that occur with aging processes of maintenance issues in pandemic seems to be more important. Objectives: This study aims to examine the attitudes of senior nursing students regarding ageism as well as their views of the problems the elderly faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The present study is a mixed study with quantitative and qualitative dimensions and it was conducted in a nursing school in X. The quantitative part of the research was conducted with 75 senior students, 13 of whom were also included in the qualitative part of the study. Quantitative data were collected using the Introductory Information Form and the Ageism Attitude Scale and qualitative data using a semi-structured interview form. Descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way analysis Mann–Whitney U, and Kruskal–Wallis tests and content analysis were used. Results: It was found that the students’ attitudes toward the elderly were positive and their views of the elderly during the pandemic were distributed among the main themes of Vulnerable, Emotional Shake, Culture, and Iceberg. Conclusion: it is believed that it is important to ensure that health team members who will work with the older adults should be provided with an environment wherein they can provide care to the older adults in the first years of their education.

Background Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is characterized by increased cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pressure of unknown cause. It has been suggested that the inflammatory process plays a role in the pathophysiology of the disease. Sortilin-1, lipocalin-2, autotaxin, decorin, and interleukin-33 (IL-33) are among the factors involved in inflammatory processes. Objective To investigate the CSF levels of sortilin-1, lipocalin-2, autotaxin, decorin, and IL-33 in patients with IIH. Methods A total of 24 IIH patients and 21 healthy controls were included in the study. Demographic characteristics of the patients and of the control group as well as CSF pressures were evaluated. Sortilin-1, lipocalin-2, autotaxin, decorin and IL-33 levels in the CSF were measured. Results The CSF levels lipocalin-2, sortilin-1, autotaxin, IL-33 and CSF pressure were significantly higher in the patients group compared with the control group (p < 0.001). Decorin levels were reduced in patients (p < 0.05). There was no correlation between the autotaxin and IL-33 levels and age, gender, CSF pressure, and body mass index. The results of our study showed that inflammatory activation plays an important role in the development of the pathophysiology of IIH. In addition, the fact that the markers used in our study have never been studied in the etiopathogenesis of IIH is important in explaining the molecular mechanism of this disease. Conclusion Studies are needed to evaluate the role of these cytokines in the pathophysiology of the disease. It is necessary to evaluate the effects of these molecules on this process. Resumo Antecedentes A hipertensão intracraniana idiopática (HII) é caracterizada pelo aumento da pressão do líquido cefalorraquidiano (LCR) de causa desconhecida. Tem sido sugerido que o processo inflamatório desempenha um papel na fisiopatologia da doença. Sortilina-1, lipocalina-2, autotaxina, decorina e interleucina-33 (IL-33) estão entre os fatores envolvidos nos processos inflamatórios. Objetivo Investigar os níveis de sortilina-1, lipocalina-2, autotaxina, decorina e IL-33 no LCR de pacientes com HII. Métodos Um total de 24 pacientes com HII e 21 controles saudáveis foram incluídos no estudo. Foram avaliadas as características demográficas dos pacientes e do grupo controle, bem como as pressões liquóricas. Os níveis de sortilina-1, lipocalina-2, autotaxina, decorina e IL-33 no LCR foram medidos. Resultados Os níveis no líquido cefalorraquidiano lipocalina-2, sortilina-1, autotaxina, IL-33 e pressão liquórica foram significativamente maiores no grupo de pacientes em comparação com o grupo controle (p < 0,001). Os níveis de decorina foram reduzidos nos pacientes (p < 0,05). Não houve correlação entre os níveis de autotaxina e IL-33 e idade, sexo, pressão liquórica e índice de massa corporal. Os resultados do nosso estudo mostraram que a ativação inflamatória desempenha um papel importante no desenvolvimento da fisiopatologia da HII. Além disso, o fato de os marcadores utilizados em nosso estudo nunca terem sido estudados na etiopatogenia da HII é importante para explicar o mecanismo molecular dessa doença. Conclusão Estudos são necessários para avaliar o papel dessas citocinas na fisiopatologia da doença. É necessário avaliar os efeitos dessas moléculas nesse processo

Background: Leishmaniasis is a zoonotic disease, which is one of the serious public health problems in the world. Nowadays, antibody production using hybridoma technology may be a correct approach in terms of sensitivity in the diagnosis of diseases such as leishmaniasis. The aim of this study was investigation of the effectiveness of different adjuvants on polyclonal antibody production against L. tropica based on hybridoma technique. Methods: Accordingly, Freund's adjuvant (1956, M. tuberculosis), as a classic adjuvant in studies, was used comparatively with the non-toxic polymeric based Polyoxidonium adjuvant. All animal immunization procedures were conducted at Bezm-i Alem University Experimental Animal Research Center. The adjuvant response was tested both in the serum sample and in the antibodies produced by the hybridomas. The antibody titers were determined with ELISA. Results: Freund’s and Polyoxidonium (PO) group blood titer’s increased approximately 5.5 fold compared to control after the 6th and 8th immunization. Hybridomas produced from mice immunized with PO adjuvant induced only antigen-specific antibody response and did not develop an immune response against the adjuvant. Conclusion: Adjuvant selection is very important in terms of the specificity of antibody responses of cells produced in hybridoma technology. Therefore, PO is recommended as a new adjuvant system in this study.

Mononuclear transition metal complexes 1-(furan-2-yl)ethyldiphenyl[dichloro(η6-p-cymene)ruthenium(II)]phosphinite, (2), 1-(furan-2-yl)ethyldiphenyl[dichloro(η6-benzene) ruthenium(II)] phosphinite (3), 1-(furan-2-yl)ethyldipheny[chloro(η4-1,5-cyclooctadiene)rhodium(I)]phosphinite (4), 1-(furan-2-yl)ethyldiphenyl[dichloro (η5pentamethylcyclopentadienyl)iridium (III)] phosphinite (5) were synthesized and characterized by microanalysis, infrared, MS, and NMR spectroscopy. The biological activities of the complexes were also tested. Compounds 2 and 5 were the best complexes at DPPH radical scavenging and reducing power activity at 73.27 % and 0.41 at 200 μg/mL, respectively. The highest antimicrobial activity exhibited by complex 3 as 14 mm inhibition zone against S. aureus. All of the complexes have cleaved the DNA from the double-strand and exhibited three bands on gel electrophoresis. Moreover, cyclic voltammetry studies of the phosphinite complexes were carried out to determine the energies of the HOMO and LUMO levels as well as to estimate their electrochemical and some electronic properties.

This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of fear of COVID-19 in patients and clinical nurses on night nursing care. This was a cross-sectional study. The research sample consisted of 604 patients and 270 clinical nurses selected by the convenience sampling method. Data were collected between August 2021 and July 2022 using a Patients’ Information form, a Nurse’s Information form, the Fear of COVID-19 scale, and the Night Nursing Care instrument. No significant difference was found between the total mean scores of the patients and the nurses on the Fear of COVID-19 scale or the Night Nursing Care instrument (rho = –0.017 , p = .702; rho = –0.020, p = .741). It was found that patients’ and nurses’ fears of COVID-19 did not affect their perceptions of night nursing care.

Objective: Taking pain under control is important to calm the individual and reduce complications. This research was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of Acupressure or Reiki interventions on the levels of pain and fatigue of stage III and IV cancer patients receiving palliative care. Method: The research was a single-blind, repeated measures, randomized controlled study. Research data were collected between February and November 2022. The research sample consisted of Acupressure and Reiki intervention groups and a control group with 52 patients in each group for a total of 156 patients. Acupressure or Reiki was applied to their intervention groups for a total of eight sessions of 20 min each over four weeks, once a day on two days a week. Data were collected by means of a patient description form, an analgesic follow-up form, the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, and the Brief Fatigue Inventory. Results: In comparison with the control group, a significant reduction was seen over time in the levels of pain (p < 0.001), analgesic use (p < 0.001), and fatigue (p < 0.001) in the Acupressure or Reiki intervention groups. Conclusion: Acupressure or Reiki interventions were found to effective in reducing levels of pain, analgesic use, and fatigue. It was seen that in addition to their use in routine nursing care, both treatments can be accepted as effective nursing interventions that reduce pain and fatigue in stage III and IV cancer patients receiving palliative care.
